Absolutely the best dental experience I’ve ever had! Cannot say enough about this office. I don’t live in Anchorage and I wasn’t even an an existing client. I had an issue that was likely going to require an entodontist. They got me in fast to diagnose the problem and refer me quickly to a professional that could help. Today she saw Dr. Scott Lyke and he did a new procedure to remove/reduce the appearance of these white spots. The end results are spectacular! WOW!!! Replacement of cantilever bridges, including capping teeth and cosmetic aspects. I have had the same general procedures performed at least four times over the last 50 years. Aurora Family Dentistry and in particular, Dr. Lyke provided vastly superior service and used much more effective diagnostic procedures. Dr. Lyke as demonstrated an understanding of the nuances that were important for attaining a high degree of excellence. Dr. Lyke is not only likable, he is an exceptional dentist. Dr Lyke and his staff began with an extensive evaluation of a number of alternatives that could potentially provide me with a good result. After we chose a direction, Dr. Lyke developed a plan, and then utilized sophisticated resources to accomplish a result that went beyond my expectations. Truly a wonderful result. As a side note, even when undergoing a dental cleaning, and annual checkup, the hygienist and dentist provide both helpful information and even demonstrations regarding how to effectively improve and /or maintain the long term health and appearance of teeth and gums.

They are incredibly helpful, proactively checking with insurance, getting me in when an emergency (or two) - all pleasantly and efficiently. The dentists are very competent and are focused on long term dental health as well as addressing specific issues. I love this dentist. I’ve been going here since I moved to Alaska about six years ago. They’re always so friendly and professional. Office is always clean and updated. Their front desk has always gone above and beyond tracking down info for me for my network providers. Cleanings and fillings have always gone quickly and nicely. The dentists are kind and make you feel remembered and known. I had a checkup just the other day for a tooth I had been concerned about- I came prepared to pay cash because of not currently having dental insurance. Then they surprised me at the end of my visit with waving the fees. I don’t expect this every time of course, but what a gift in these crazy times with jobs being lessened due to the pandemic. I’ll never switch dentists, that’s for sure!

I've always had this great fear of seeing dentist (I believe my old dentist gave me some kind of physiological trauma since I was a child... ). Today is my best dental experience ever! People at front desk were super friendly. Environment was very clean and comfortable. I did dental exam and cleaning today. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very polite, friendly and really paying attention to listen to me even I was just whining like a kid most of the time (that helped me to stay calm). She was professional and really did a great job! During the session, Dr. Lyke came in to examine the x-ray photos and my teeth. He answered questions and doubts I had in great detail with enthusiasm, which made me felt they did care about their patients. (He's super cool!) After the cleaning was done, I scheduled the next cleaning right away! I will definitely stick with them for my future dental appointment and recommend to my friends! (*Note: I didn't have dental insurance so I paid with cash. However the price they offered is very reasonable.)

The staff were very friendly—from the front desk assistant to the dentist—and I felt comfortable there as a new patient. Both the exam and cleaning were thorough and Ashley my dental assistant did a great job of keeping me informed and explaining why she was conducting a cleaning procedure in a particular way. Dr. Jaimie Lyke was kind and friendly, and I appreciated that she took extra time to listen to my questions and didn’t try to rush through any procedures. My only constructive criticism was that at my previous dentist visits in other states, I almost always received the (to me) more comfortable bite-wing x-rays. Here, however, I received a lengthier periapical x-ray, which required a series of 18 images. Since I wasn’t used to this procedure, it seemed unnecessarily invasive compared with my previous experiences. However, it turns out that the periapical x-rays were actually providing a more in-depth image of the roots of my teeth and could identify decay sooner. Now that I know that, I’m glad that I received this more thorough type of x-ray; but my only advice to the staff would be to explain why you’ve chosen to use this type of x-ray in case other people like me have never experienced it before. Having said all this, though, I would still recommend going to this office for their kindness, professionalism, and thoroughness!

From the very first visit for a routine exam & cleaning, and throughout my Invisalign treatment over the last year, the staff at this dental clinic have all been very kind, knowledgeable, friendly, and I leave every time confident that my teeth are in great hands! They were nice enough when I was having anxiety about some fillings to provide good quality noise-canceling headphones to drown out the sound. They ask me how my personal life is going and it really does make it a pleasant experience every time I go. I recommend them to all my coworkers and friends. Dr Bierderman has over 10 years of experience and very understanding, completely answered my question when given the opportunity. I can't remember if Dr Lyke has worked on my teeth but trust Dr Bierderman's choice of excellent providers. Disappointed in overall staff management: I needed a more thorough review of all treatment options. Last year only 1 option treatment offered, this year:2- 3 options. Only 1 referral provider recommended outside my preferred provider list . I had to do my own research to find someone my insurance would cover. With the astronomical costs it always helps to have options. I found out from another dentist my treatment protocol involved 2 different dental providers, 2 different appointments, 2 different locations. Not a problem but frustrating to find out from someone else with many phone calls later. Hygienist said she doesn't deal with insurance which is fine but didn't seem like anyone fully answered these concerns. However, I'm confident if I had talked to Dr Biederman's initially my questions would have a more complete explaination. Reception Staff greeted me by looking at the computer, only had eye contact when saying "Good-bye." I won't be going back unless I need Dr Biederman's services.

Brianna, dental hygienist, was gentle and so thorough. She confidently answered my questions about how I could do better with my dental hygiene. I especially appreciate that Aurora is willing to honor my Aetna Vital Savings membership, which is not insurance, but affords me a discount equal to what Aetna dental policy holders enjoy with Aurora. For $125/yr, my family is allowed to pay a fee equal to the deductible a patient pays out of pocket plus what Aetna would reimburse. For example, I paid $114 for my prophylaxis-adult which retail is $145. If you don’t have dental insurance, this is a viable option for reducing your costs.

Tried Aurora Dentistry after my original dentist retired. Dr. Scott Lyke put a crown on one of my rear molars. Took several office visits and Dr. Biederman (the other dentist in the office) to fixed it. I was not happy with the crown so they refunded my insurance deductable. They are also working with my insurance to refund their money. This will allow me to replace the crown at a later date.

My friend Sherry Allen got me in with an appointment for cleaning. 1- The office atmosphere and front desk is very nice, clean and inviting. 2- The equipment are all top of the line and high efficiency. 3- I have never had a cleaning of this depth. Sherry was absolutely the best I have ever had. (I clean my teeth every four months) 4- The prices were very competitive and reasonable.
