I am a new patient to Alaska Advanced Dentistry and was blown away by the whole team. Everyone is very welcoming and cares a lot about their patients. The cleaning and exam were very thorough, utilizing the best available technology for images and cancer screening. The dentist and hygienist took the time to answer any questions I had and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I am so happy to have found this office!

Staff is very friendly and accommodating, while also making the entire process as comfortable as possible. Dr Rex did an excellent job of fitting me into a tight schedule and doing a root canal/tooth cap. He was able to match the cap exactly how it was meant to and my teeth feel great, also he was very patient with getting the cap to where it felt just right. Highly recommended for any new customers or those who have a fear of going to a dentist. Fantastic work

I came here needing extensive dental work due to years of neglect and bad experiences with other dentists. Everyone here was so nice and non-judgmental on my initial visit that I decided to stick with them for the several procedures I'd be needing. I've had two root canals so far, and they have been both painless and effortless. The staff are all great at their jobs and great people to boot. I Absolutely recommended these folks!

I never really liked going to the dentist as a kid, but ever since my family and I started going to Alaska Advanced Dentistry I look forward to my dentist appointments. The people who work there are very kind people, who remember the little things about their clients. For example, last time I was getting my teeth cleaned at a regular check up, the dental hygienist started to ask me about my school or sports that I mentioned briefly months before. They have even taken the time to help me fix my jaw/teeth, with Invisalign as opposed to braces. I am forever grateful to the Alaska Advanced Dentistry for making sure my teeth are healthy. :)

Friendly staff. Very professional. Stays current with best dental practices using latest technology. I hated leaving this office in Anchorage but was able to transfer to their branch in Palmer. I had recent knee surgery & not supposed to do dental for three months post surgery-three weeks later old post pops off & post down drain while I am using waterpik. Panic!! Call dentist & surgeon & appt scheduled with antibiotics 1 hour prior to each visit. Dr Malcolm had to remove rest of tooth( didn’t want to come out) and took over 3 hours to come out in pieces with drilling, manipulating and sheer determination. Had to take steroid post removal as well as antibiotics for two days post procedure. Bone graft & sutures put in & checked weekly x2 weeks & removed. The confidence Dr Malcolm conveyed & concern of rest of staff helped keep me calm. I can not recommend this dental office enough & words can’t express my appreciation for this caring, honest, knowledgeable care I receive each visit & in this case with follow up phone calls. Very impressed & thankful! Wonderful dentist & staff!!

Very happy I found this dental office. I have had A LOT of dental issues that have created a lot of anxiety about dental procedures. I felt comfortable and felt they explained all of my options. I did not feel like they tried to offer things I didn’t really need. I had a filling completed with very little pain and they took the time to listen to my concerns. Great communication and friendly staff. Like most people, I have a fear of the dentist, and needed a few cavities filled. I want went to a chain dentistry for a consultation and did not get a good vibe from the place. I sought out a company that had more experience in a good reputation. My teeth feel happy when she’s done with her magic cleaning. Dr. Malcom is a kindhearted dentist that cares for your teeth as well as your general well-being. I receive TMJ “Botox” injections in my jaws muscles and in about two weeks my jaws relax so I’m not grinding and clenching. I’ve been going to Alaska Advanced Dentistry since I was 19. The reason is simple, I trusted Dr. Klump now trust Dr. Malcolm, Kara (the BEST dental hygienist) as well as the rest of the staff. I've been going to Alaska Advanced Dentistry for about 25 years. The staff is what makes it the best; front desk, hygienist and dentists. The front desk staff is super friendly and answers all questions I have or gets back to me if they need to double check for accuracy, I also love the convenience of being able to text! Cara, has been cleaning my teeth since I was a teenager and there is no better hygienist in the state(according to my mom). Dr Malcom and Dr Thomas are both excellent dentists. My family has always had above par experiences when getting our teeth cleaned, getting wisdom teeth pulled or getting cavities filled. I would recommend anyone to go them!

They were friendly, kind and informative. Most importantly they catered to the anxiety I have surrounding going to the dentist. Upon arrival, I was greeted as if I had been going there for years. I got a cleaning and a consultation with Dr. Malcolm who was non-judgmental and developed a plan to remedy a dental issue I had been having. In August of 2012, my front tooth was knocked out while I was working in Seward. This happened the day before I was to fly to the lower 48 to be a groomsman in my best friend's wedding. I called Alaska Advanced Dentistry in Anchorage and told them essentially, that I needed a new front tooth, that very next morning, before I had to catch a flight. I know there are many other dentist offices that would have said: "sorry, tough luck." Not these guys. They contacted one of their dentists, who then scheduled me BEFORE her first client of the day because there were no other options that would work for me. From the receptionist to my awesome dentist Dr. Stacy Schmitz Reece to the other dentist in the office Dr. Klump, the staff took it upon themselves to help me with my situation. You don't see that too often these days. Furthermore, the entire office was very professional. The office was clean and comfortable. I love how Dr. Schmitz Reece collaborated with her assistant and included me in every discussion or decision that was made. I was never out of the loop and I felt like I was in good hands throughout the morning. Most importantly, they did an amazing job. The procedure was relatively quick, it was not painful, and the job was very thorough. My tooth looked EXACTLY like it did before the accident. Months later (Nov), the tooth is holding up great even though I elected to take the more short-term solution because I didn't have the funds to pay for a permanent implant. Thanks to Alaska Advanced Dentistry my best friend did not have to deal with a groomsman with no front tooth. Can you imagine how my speech would have gone?

Boy, let me tell you, when I entered Alaska Advanced Dentristy I felt unusually calm. The front desk ladies were so beautiful and greeted me as though I was a long lost friend. Now when I went back to the room to see the dentist I started to sweat coldly. But man, the dentist was so inviting that I felt like I was in my living room on my couch. I had to have a root canal. I was terrified. But I got the laughing gas and Ive never laughed so hard in my life. The drill turned into my friend. God, it was just the best dental experience of my entire life. One of my favorite features about myself is my smile. After months of clenching my teeth while I slept at night, I began to develop an abfraction which cause me to be a little self-conscious and more importantly, concerned with the health of my teeth overall. When I visited Alaska Advanced Dentistry, I was quickly put at ease with the down-to-earth people who greeted me and worked on my teeth. Dr. Schmitz explained and showed me what needed work (what an abfraction was, cavities, etc.) and told me how I could protect my teeth more than my regular brushing and occasional flossing. She had me take home some samples of mints and gum that would help prevent cavities and strengthen weak enamel. (I drink coffee, tea and soda and don't floss often enough.) And she told me to get a mouth guard from the drugstore to wear to bed (or she could make me one if I wanted it custom) to help prevent more damage from my clenching/grinding problem.The filling she put in for my abfraction was surprisingly natural-looking, so I'm no longer self-conscious about the appearance. I had a couple of cavities that she filled and thankfully, while I was there, Stacy was meticulous about making sure my bite still felt natural (to prevent the filled tooth from taking all the pressure from my clenching which could've caused headaches or another abfraction). And she made sure to tell me that if I felt ANY pain to TELL her and she could give me another shot to make sure my experience was painless...so I did during one filling, and what a difference it made!I also loved that while they were working on my teeth, they hummed along with the music - just like our dentist and his assistants did when Stacy and I were kids! Overall, the service and care were worth the time in the chair.

I'm 67. I've been to many dentists. The transition from Dr Klump to Dr Malcomb was seamless. I require more novocaine than normal. Dr Malcomb must have had this in my chart because I did not require extra shots this time. Dentists have used rubber dams, rubber blocks to hold my mouth open, and other devices. The device he used today was the least uncomfortable. And Cara is wonderful. I trust them. Skilled, competent, attentive, and personable.
