I had the best experience today with a routine cleaning. The hygienist was so personable and sweet. I felt she really cared for me as a person and not just another cleaning she had to do at the end of the day. Dr. Blum comes in and does an exam and answers all my questions and I don’t feel rushed. She is super thorough. Love this place !

Been going here since I was in college. Moved out of Albuquerque and could not change dentists because I've already found this office to be super efficient, helpful and very accommodating with hours. I used to do weekend appointments when available and now that they still offer late appointments I usually choose those.

Bear Canyon Family Dentistry really puts the family in their family practice, whether you be one client or a big family. Very friendly staff, super care and an attractive waiting area, but your waits are short. I am allergic to various dental materials, and had brought a dental allergy test to support my concerns. I am extremely sensitive to any dental care, of which the staff was very aware and accommodated me for completely painless treatment of the highest quality. When I showed up for my second visit, they had carefully remembered and adhered to my all fussy issues. I was impressed!!! Plus, they use the latest technology and dental medication available, making your visit very comfortable. For example, old crowns are not jerked out your mouth anymore, but instead carefully dissected and gently removed. No more crunching on your teeth, as that is SO old school. I am a senior, and a veteran, of which this clinic takes Delta Dental Insurance, which helped me greatly. Procedures are carefully explained, and the staff happily doesn’t hesitate to discuss your concerns and healthy solutions, plus provides good referrals for dental work out of their practice, such as surgery or dentures. They take the time to listen to you. Bear Canyon Dentistry also has their staff work in shifts, so you can easily be seen M-F from 7am to 7pm, except Fri when they close at 3pm. This is so nice for those with super busy schedules. Although I am moving a few miles away from the clinic, you can be assured I will happily drive the extra mileage to get the high quality and friendly service that Bear Canyon continues provides. It is a top quality dental clinic with a super friendly staff included!! You get a nice smile, with laughter included!  And this is my amazing dentist!

Had a great first appointment with Bear Canyon! I was so nervous since I’ve had a hard time finding a dentist I really liked. They were super helpful and friendly even when we had issues with my insurance. They really listened to my medical history and were even familiar with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and were willing to defer to my judgement. It is so rare to find healthcare professionals that are willing to educate themselves on their patients’ conditions AND treat their patient as part of the care team. Plus the hygienist was super gentle on my sensitive teeth which is always a win. Highly recommend Bear Canyon Family Dentistry!

The staff at Bear Canyon Dentistry is fantastic! Everyone I've encountered is friendly and welcoming. The scheduling was easy and they were always very accommodating ( I had to call and reschedule a few times due to my own conflicts). Several weeks prior to my scheduled appointment I received a friendly reminder. Another reminder a couple of weeks later and again a few days prior and on the day of. The staff is really on top of it. The check in process was quick and easy. I had arrived about 10min early and waited only a few minutes before being seen by the hygeniest. He was friendly, thorough, and efficient. I just had a routine cleaning so the whole thing was pretty quick. Another great experience for me! The price was reasonable and the care was great. Highly recommend this office to anyone!

Best dentist I’ve ever been to! Communication throughout the whole process was phenomenal among all the staff. They led me through every step of the way and made sure I was comfortable. Dr Montes is super friendly and does a really good job. The dental hygienist was gentle and thorough. They were able to get me in just a few days before and then fit me in for a prophylaxis for the rest of my teeth even though it wasn’t what my original appointment was for. The facilities are beautiful and have a really nice atmosphere. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone!!

I didn’t feel like I got a good teeth cleaning. Usually it feels a lot more thorough. This time it felt like the hygienist cleaned a tooth here and a tooth there and before I knew it she was polishing my teeth. If my teeth were so clean that they didn’t require much cleaning, then she should have pointed it out. Also, I know the hygienist is trying to be friendly when she asks about my family, what am I doing tonight, what am I doing for the holidays, etc but it was too much. I really don’t want to share information about myself with someone I don’t know. I would rather have listened to her describe the condition of my teeth. Did recession increase? Are there any new issues I should be aware of or pay attention to? If no, then tell me. Also, I didn’t appreciate the chit-chat between the hygienist and other staff when she was in middle of applying sealants, it makes me feel like she’s distracted or bored with the job at hand. I should mention too that when I was in the waiting room, the bug sprayer came in and was spraying along the baseboards. I did not appreciate being exposed to pesticides. Aside from this, the office was decorated very tastefully for the holidays and it felt very nice and inviting when I walked in. The receptionist was very cheerful and friendly and I enjoyed my interaction with her. The office was immaculate, as were the bathrooms, not a speck of dust anywhere. It was very impressive.

So glad I found this place. Both doctors and hygienists really explain things. They've been much better about not hurting me than other places. Update August 2019: still love 'em! Update April 2021: Natalia did my cleaning, and it didn't hurt at all! I get so scared about going to the dentist, it is such a relief to have found this practice. Update June 2022: Tristan did my cleaning and it was a pain-free experience 😀 I did have to get some fillings. After the initial numbing injection, I didn’t feel a thing! So much better than my experiences elsewhere.

Dr Montes is an absolutely wonderful dentist. Her knowledge and work are competent. Most of the front staff and office manager are very rude and difficult to work with. It is almost impossible to get a reliable answer from the staff concerning dental insurance. Each staff will report differing answers. If the office manager intervenes, she will very rudely tell you that your insurance issues are yours, and she refuses to straighten the issues out as the billing she does for you is a service she offers, but are not her responsibility. Dr. Montes, her assistants and the hygienists are so good it has made trying to work with the front office personnel worth it.

Have had some pretty awful experiences in the past with dentist visits, this place was the complete opposite! Dr. Montes was great in my initial exam, and walked me through each step of my treatment plan and different options, explaining the timeline, cost comparisons as well as effectiveness of the options down the road. It was nice to have everything explained that way with many different options laid out. The hygienist Thomas was fast, and professional during my deep clean / root planing and I was actually surprised to have such a painless experience! Kim and Michael at the reception desk always seem fun, positive and professional. Even with all the covid stuff going on the whole place seemed on point.

They’ve recently acquired this new technology that maps your entire mouth right in front of you which is really cool and allows for better care according the the doctors. Free coffee and a calm atmosphere makes me feel good when I'm here ❤ Edit to add: I went in for routine cleaning and really appreciated the measures that were taken to protect against Covid-19. Masks required for all employees and clients, hand sanitizer available and required and all rooms sanitized after each appointment. I could really feel how much they cared.

After a third day of discomfort. I called to make an appointment. They were able to get me in the same day. Followed COVID 19 precautions which I appreciated. Relieved my discomfort, which ended up being phase 1of a crown. I appreciated that they let me see and approve the cost beforehand, instead of anticipating what it could be and not finding out until the end of the visit. The kids look forward to their check ups because the staff is friendly and outgoing. They never push when it comes to optional services. During a pandemic provides an opportunity to observe how a medical office addresses the need for keeping personnel safe as well as the patients they serve. It is impressive to be met at the door and begin the care services at Bear Canyon Family Dentistry. I was there for an initial work up in preparation for a hip replacement surgery. The technician preforming the X-Rays and preparing the data for evaluation was engaging in conversation as she operated the devices Then the Doctor performed the further detailed exams carefully explaining the issues and answering my questions with patience and clarity. This is a great dental practice. I've been going here several years. Dr Mason really cares about you, and he is very skilled. My previous dentist keep putting band aids on my problem and I was fortunate to find Dr Mason, who solved the immediate issue and gave me long term options. The lady who handles the billing and insurance portion of the business is extremely short and rude with people. We pre-paid the amount initially agreed upon with the dentist, and even nearly a year later they are telling us that insurance isn't covering what they anticipated and we have to pay out of pocket now. Normally, I am very understanding and patient but I don't appreciate being spoken to in short rude tones while half my face is numb and then being treated like I'm the one who is at fault for all of this. I would not recommend dealing with her. Edit to add: There is also EXTREMELY poor communication on the process of dental treatments and expected time frames.

I went to Dr.bloom to get Invisalign after my teeth shifted due to my third molars coming in. I had had braces as a teen, however the first round of orthodontics was pretty subpar. Dr.Bloom is incredibly passionate about orthodontic work. She was wonderful and thorough in explaining everything before and leading up to me getting Invisalign. I almost have never needed to ask questions because she’s always so thoroughly explained that she answers my questions before I can ask them. In addition to Dr.Bloom’s excellent bedside manner and expertise, the staff at Bear Canyon Family Dentistry are beyond phenomenal. They are alway courteous and kind when I call and come in. If you are looking for a new dentist and especially for orthodontic work I absolutely recommend them!

The hygienist Katrina was efficient, friendly, and did a good job. Dr Montes was the same. The care was good. -- Sandra was good. A recommendation when using the new 360 x-ray: the technician needs to lift the little black hook onto and off the patient's teeth. I nearly broke the hook (or my tooth) trying to step back.

The following words are how I felt when I first started going to Bear canyon family dentist so continue reading all the way till the end and see how my relationship with this dentistry ended. Kim the receptionist was extremely understanding and listened to what I had to say when I first walked in.I was kept waiting almost 25 minutes...( I was also kept waiting for hours on one of my visits if you can believe that it's true!) but when she finally came in the room she also really listened. I appreciate that more than anything. She took her time to explain and did not try talkin me into getting work done that didn't need to be done. She referred me to an endodontist (they are big on recommending you to go to other practitioners which will wind up costing you hundreds of more dollars) and so I'll be going there on Friday.(this turned out to be a complete waste of almost $100) All in all it was a pleasant experience and I will definitely be going back. I really like Dr. Bloom as she always took good care of me and did excellent work on my teeth HOWEVER THINGS HAVE CHANGED BIG TIME SINCE I FIRST WROTE THIS REVIEW! I went back yesterday and of course all the policies have changed there is no waiting room anymore, you have to wait out in the parking lot because the door is locked you have to have your temperature taken like a sick person you have to use hand sanitizer with you like it or not and I don't like it before you go into the room. If you try to pull down the face diaper and talk to anybody they totally freaked out and it's very disturbing. I had a 2:30 appointment and was called up and asked if I wanted to see doctor Bloom I would have to come at 11:30. I took that appointment because I wanted an examination along with the teeth cleaning. When I got there I was told she most likely wasn't there but she would "check". When the dental hygienist came in I told her I don't pay hundreds of dollars to this dentistry NOT to see my dentist. The one receptionist never came back into the room I was placed in to tell me that the doctor was Not there ...she left it up to the dental hygienist which I also did not appreciate. I walked out and I most likely will not be going back. The whole Aura of the office environment has changed so much so I'm going to be looking elsewhere and it's a shame it really is.

This is only the second time I write a review about services received but after reading Mia’s review, I felt compelled to share my personal experience with Dr. Greinel-Blum. I have wanted Invisalign, however after a thorough exam, Dr. Greinel-Blum advised me not to pursue this treatment. Since Dr.Green, who has left Bear Cayon Family Dental two years ago did not treat ortho cases and keeping in mind that Mark is a dental hygienist who doesn’t possess the credentials or expertise to diagnose or treat dental procedures, I obtained a second opinion from a local orthodontist outside Bear Cayon Family Dental. This orthodontist concurred with Dr.Greinel-Blum’s assessment & recommendation. I applaud Dr. Greinel-Blum’s honesty & professionalism in not pushing a treatment that was not in my best interest. Her integrity is formidable! I have been seeing her for four years, although she has been practicing for over 10 years and highly recommend her to my friends. I will continue to see her as my dentist because I trust her expertise.
