Everyone I interacted with, from the front desk to the billing people, were friendly and helpful. I have been blessed with Carrie as my Hygienist at Academy Dental for about 3 years. She is the best I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot. I have a number of autoimmune disorders and complicated issues and she is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. I know they have other hygienist’s available, but I will always wait a little longer to be able to see her. My husband feels the same way. My Dental Assistant Angelica was extremely attentive and showed great care throughout the entire process of my visit. Oh my gosh! I wish I could give these guys more than 5 stars. Walking into this office was like a breath of fresh air! Everyone from the front desk staff, to the dental hygienist, to the Doctor were so welcoming, warm, and non judgmental. For years I have dreaded dental appointments and procedures due to bad experiences. I am so glad I have finally found a place that eases my anxiety and makes me feel like I am in good hands. Stephanie was my hygienist and she was so patient with me and talked to me throughout the whole process, whether it was trying to get to know me or informing me what she was doing next. She truly loves what she does and it shows in the way she treats her patients. My teeth are so clean and I left the office feeling like I knew how to care for my teeth and gums better, all thanks to Stephanie. Dr. Gonzales was also very welcoming and knowledgeable. She took her time with me and it didn’t feel like a rushed visit to get to another patient. She had genuine interest in looking at my X-rays WITH me, no doctor has ever done that, and explaining everything she saw. She asked for my input on my treatment plan and was very honest and reassuring. I am so excited I have FINALLY found the dental office for me. This place is amazing! Thank you Academy Dental Care.

I always have such good experiences at Academy Dental. Dr. Gonzales is really good. I came in with increasing nerve pain that I could not even isolate. She made time for me on a busy Monday. She diagnosed the issue & addressed it on that visit. Always considerate, she completed my Invisalign appointment and saved me a trip back 2 weeks later. I highly recommend her and Academy Dental.

UPDATE: I cracked a crown at lunch on a Saturday. The next Monday the ADC office was able to get me in that morning. Dr. Gonzales removed what was left of the crown and set me up with a temp. Three weeks later my new crown was fitted and I am on my way again. Thank you! Dr. Gonzales and her team are the best. Today Berta my hygienist earned her pay cleaning my teeth and now they're spic and span. I've tried other Albuquerque dentists but came back to Dr. Gonzales because she does excellent work.

I was tense about having a large filling replaced with a crown. I had a previous bad experience. Dr Gonzalez and Nicole were outstanding. I had little discomfort. They are careful and precise. Thanks!! This is a comment I wrote when I first started going to Academy Dental which I failed to post. My experience now a few years later, how time flies!!, is that this is an excellent dental office. Dr Gonzalez is outstanding as are her hygienists. Kudos and mil gracias to all of you.

My first visit with Dr. Gonzales for consultation on a complex dental case. Dr. Gonzales was a careful, considerate listener and reviewed my prior treatment, giving me advise & insight going forward. I hope to be able to continue working with her on my dental care. Her assistant, Karla, brightened my day because of her bubbly, positive nature, and she was very knowledgeable, giving me important details about the implants that were done for me by a prior dentist. Dr. Gonzales and Karla took extended time to help me through a prior traumatic dental experience and to direct me towards options for treatment. I really like the staff's professionalism and friendliness. I found Dr. Gonzales and other dentists on staff to be knowledgeable, thorough, personable, and professional. That goes for their entire staff. I also really appreciate their willingness to coordinate care with my periodontist as I have implants. I've been a patient for over 4 years and have been seen by all of the dentists and they're fantastic. It's the best care I've ever had for teeth and gums. I've had multiple crowns done and the fit has been great. I also have my teeth cleaned regularly at Academy Dental and they do an incredible job. They do a superior job and are knowledgeable beyond what I had been accustomed to from other dental practices. Berta, my hygienist, is awesome. It's like visiting with a friend, but I can count on her to be thorough, encouraging, and honest about the condition of my teeth and gums. She won't hesitate to ask one of the Drs to have a look at my mouth if she suspects something.

Academy Dental is by far the BEST dentist office i’ve been too. The facility is pristine & welcoming but in my opinion the REAL beauty comes from the high quality experts and staff inside. They have such a wide range of friendly on-site staff who answered any questions or concerns that came up. If 1 person couldn’t answer my question, i was instantly introduced to someone that could. In addition, I really appreciated the way Dr. Gallagher broke down complex information for me. As a young adult i can always appreciate anyone who takes time to educate patients by showing them multiple avenues and solutions for great oral health.

Best dentists office I've ever been too hands down. The office itself is very nice and clean and has an upscale feel. Everyone was kind and inviting, Office staff were very accommodating working with my insurance and explaining how much everything would cost before hand. Everyone at the office took their time and nothing felt rushed. Berta did my cleaning, she was very nice and did a great job on the buildup on my teeth ! This was one of the best customer experiences for a "service" that I have ever received in my entire life. I know it's strange to think that about a Dental Clinic, but it's true. Highlights 1) I received a call a few days prior from Dr. Krohnfeldt introducing himself and asking if i had any questions. This is an incredibly sweet personal touch. In person he was just as professional as he was over the phone. 2) Bethany, the dental hygienist was an absolute superstar. She is thorough, kind, courteous, professional and does an fabulous job explaining everything that she is doing and everything that is going on inside your mouth. 3) The facilities are incredibly modern, beautiful and clean and the all of the staff that assisted me throughout my visit were incredible and friendly. If you're getting your dental care here you need to really evaluate your life ;)

Outstanding first visit. I would give 6 stars if I could. Had the most thorough check-up and cleaning that I've ever had at a dental office. Berta, the hygienist, was an absolute joy and made the entire visit more fun and comfortable. She did a great job of explaining each step of the check-up and cleaning. I met with Dr. Gonzales toward the end, and felt that she was attentive, professional and made me feel very taken care of as a patient. Cyndi, who works the front desk, is awesome too — she was my first point of contact with this office, and even just on the phone was engaging and friendly. This seems to be an outstanding practice that is absolutely committed to giving you a world-class experience. I have a follow-up visit next month, and am looking forward to it. So far, an awesome ABQ business! Note: Felt that the office was a *little* tricky to find. Once you arrive in their plaza on Wyoming, just know that the office is toward the northern edge of the plaza, a little tucked away. Would recommend giving yourself a little extra time to find it on your first visit.

I believe Karla did my whitening and although my teeth are not as white as I had hoped; I was informed of other options. Dr. K & assistant Jackie P were very attentive, competent & reassuring while fitting me with new choppers & I would highly recommend getting dental treatment @ Academy. Today: 12/23/2021. I came in for an adjustment after experiencing pain when chewing anything hard with my lower partial. Marci did some careful grinding & polishing, with careful tryouts after each step.There was no charge, I can now eat almonds without discomfort & will continue recommending Academy for any dental work.

The Customer (Patient) Care is thru the roof! From the moment I walked in, I just knew I was in the right place. Dr. Gonzales put together a dental plan (actually gave me a few choices, Dr. Gallagher gave some input as well), and I'm on my way to a wonderful smile, and healthy teeth and gums. Dr. Gonzales got me set up with Carrie as my Hygienist and my first appointment was great! The ladies up front are terrific....Rachelle, Cindy, and Faith not only laugh at my jokes, but make sure I have everything I need to make an informed mouth care decision. I’m so glad I found them!!! I came in for an emergency check (I had a tooth ache several days before my schedule allowed me to come in). They were so kind, friendly and treated me like a long time patient. I’m headed back there in a few months for my regular check up. Another great experience with the ADC team. I just fractured a ceramic crown by biting into a solid fragment in a power bar. I called Monday afternoon to see if there were any openings for a crown replacement and a temporary crown and I was worked in the following day with Dr. Krohnfelt and Tish as his assistant. There should be more stars! Academy Dental Care is first rate and an exceptional dental facility for all dental work. Coming from Maryland where I recently had a considerable amount of dental work with one of the best rated cosmetic dentists, I started having a tooth ache. So after researching the best rated dentist facility in Albuquerque, made an appointment at ADC with Dr. Gallagher. Appointment revealed at least 4 of the teeth redone in Maryland needed replacing, along with a root canal. Not such a happy day. However, going through the process of fixing the teeth, ADC is doing an exceptional job. Dr. Gonzales is reworking the teeth, making them look much better than before, along with Melissa and Jeniffer doing a great job assisting. Since this is my second time around, Cindy has made the financial part less "painful", working with me for the needed repairs. Everyone from when you walk through the door, from appointment scheduling, to teeth cleaning, to dental work and billing is truly professional. Highly recommend Academy Dental Care for all family members. They take care of you.

She suggests best treatment and excellent treatment options regardless of business (money) . I have never seen her or her staff in hurry to get rid of their patients and catch the next one. An excellent definition of a word 'doctor' and 'professionalism' . The only catch is finance department. I don't know why they are in rush of getting money sometimes even before treatment. Dr. Gonzales and the crew at Academy Dental have been taking care of my dental needs for about four years now and I am very pleased with their quality of work and professionalism. In addition, the team as a whole are very happy people and fun, which takes the dread out of going to the dentist. Excellent! I was blown away by the professionalism and competency of the providers at Academy Dental Care. Normally, I hate the dentist and after a bad experience…I haven’t been back to the dentist in over three years; however, my dental hygienist, Gwen, was amazing! She was kind and patient and took the time to address all of my concerns. She then made sure that the dentist, Dr. Hong, also addressed all of my concerns. They made my experience personal and I didn’t feel rushed or hurried. They also explained my x-rays and physically showed me where their concerns were on my x-rays. I hated the dentist my whole life. I’ve always had terrible experience with beside manner and billing. I wanted to get Invisalign and found Chelsea. I went in for my consultation and was treated by friendly staff. The procedure and price were discussed in detail, so I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. I have had several appointments there and I LOVE all of the staff. Faith is great will billing, all the hygienist are so friendly and we laugh. Most importantly they show me how to properly care for my teeth and gums. Chelsea is always smiling! She was real with me on what I need to do on my part to ensure I get the results of the Invisalign. I love that they have expectations of their patients and it’s clear. I have had about 6 visits so far and I enjoyed every one of them. I will be spending a lot more time over the next two years there and I’m looking forward to my teeth transformation. If you are looking for a good dentist and/or Invisalign, this is the place!!!!! I wish I would have found this 25 years ago.

When I first came to Academy Dental Care, my gums were bleeding. I had one tooth that was cracked. Dr. Gallagher removed it and installed an implant. After 50 years, I had 3 fillings that had worned down and I had 2 infections. Dr Gonzales save the molars and crowns were installed. I now floss every day. My gums and teeth are doing great now. I'm giving Academy Dental 4.5 stars and rounding up to 5....this is further explained below. I've been seeing Dr. Gonzales and Dr. Gallagher for 2 years now, and have had fillings, some cosmetic work, and a crown done. They have a very high level of attention to detail, something I have not encountered before. I'm in the medical field, I'm from NY, and have moved around a bit, and have been to my share of dentists, and they're by far the best. The reason I took off half a star is because the level of quality and care I've received comes at a cost. They're not inexpensive, but they accept insurance; however, you get what you pay for, which is why I rounded up to 5 stars and not down to 4. While I'm living in New Mexico, I wouldn't go to any other dentist simply because it's not easy to find the level of quality and care they provide. About a month ago, my pregnant friend had a dental emergency, and she asked who I used, so I told her...again. Dr. Gonzalez's staff got her in right away. She used to use the place that has billboards all over roads and highways, but they weren't able to get her in for a week, and she's pregnant!!!! My friend really liked Dr. Gonzales, they took care of her, she thought the place was immaculate, and even mentioned that she thought the staff wore cute outfits....go figure.

Any fan of cinema, or any storytelling for that matter, will tell you that a proper tale isn't complete unless some form of backstory is given to the character. My story is no exception. To properly understand my journey with Academy Dental Care you must first gain knowledge of the status of oral cavity upon my first visit. As a child my parents instructed me in the proper care of my teeth. Consuming more Pepsi and Skittles then a child should I still made the effort to maintain my incisors. Its unfortunate that some habits do not ingrain as deeply as they should. Upon reaching my mid/late teens not only did I nearly give up on preventive care, I also took up the habit of smoking. Perhaps this might not have been so horrendous had I curbed my sugar habit but it had only increased. By my mid twenties I was still living in a fairy tale world. My teeth had developed cavities at the base. A sensible person would see this as a wake up call. Mr. Intelligent writing this review decided to wait until tooth pain set it. If you have never experienced this you have quite a fun time to look forward to. After having my tooth pulled by an emergency dentist I concluded I had to grow up. Doctor Gonzales was recommended to my by a coworker. He stated they were friendly and not much else. Trusting this persons opinion I scheduled my first appointment. One of the first questions asked upon my initial examination was if I was a user of Methamphetamine. Now perhaps you don't appreciate this kind of honesty from people but I needed it. The statement gave perspective to my plight. To this day I use it as a reminder of how far I let myself slip and to motivate me to reach my goals for a healthy clean mouth. Multiple pulls, crowns, and fillings later I am nearly at my goal of maintaining my teeth and no longer trying to fix them. The staff have helped walk me through this process at every level allowing me to form a long term goal plan. As great as the work done on mouth as been I can truthfully say that is not the main appeal of Academy Dental Care. The way the staff interact with their patients(well I can only judge my self and my spouse who switched at my suggestion) is true highlight of this business. I feel welcomed and warmed the moment I step in the building. I feel like everyone greets me and knows my name even people who haven't worked on me. Details I have shared about myself are not only remembered but conversations from previous visits are continued. I cannot adequately convey my desire to never have to change dentists. Now perhaps you're like me and feel a completely positive review does not offer a proper well rounded review of a business. I wish I could offer something negative about my experiences. Perhaps how much the work has cost me has been difficult to deal with. While this is true, it is unrelated to building itself and due to the amount of work I created for myself. In the years I was neglecting my teeth I never envisioned I would actually look forward to my regular cleanings. It's funny sometimes where your life takes you.

Dr. Gallagher has been my dentist since 1981. There was no reason to change. Both my kids were raised in ABQ, and he was their dentist too, until they grew up and moved away. He's a great dentist, the entire staff is welcoming and competent. They are efficient yet you never feel rushed. Upon arrival for my appointment, I barely get a magazine open before I'm already being called in. Berta is the best hygienist ever! Dr. Gallagher is semi retired now - he only works on Monday. But his partner Dr. Gonzales is superb as well.

One thing i was immediately struck by was the compassion and concern for patients aftercare process - both times that Dr. Gonzales has performed procedures on me ( i've had all 4 wisdom teeth and 2 others extracted and have been fitted with a temporary bridge), she has called me later that evening and the following day just to make sure that i'm feeling all right and that i'm doing ok. I have never had any doctor show such immediate concern and follow up with me so quickly after i had left the office. It may sound strange, but I enjoy going to the Acamedy Dental Care; getting a clean bill of health is what I always look forward to hearing after my checkups/cleanings. Unfortunately I didn't appreciate the importance of good dental hygiene until I became a senior citizen and lost a number of teeth. As you can imagine, the teeth that I have left are very important to me. During a cleaning/checkup last year the dental technician discovered an early absess that with my heart history might have killed me, if the bacteria would have reached my heart. My first visit to Academy Dental, my gums were bleeding, and I had a lot of plaque. Dr. Gonzales and her team advised me to start flossing, brushing with Sonic Care, using Go Betweens, and rinsing with mouthwash. Since then, my gums have returned to normal and my plaque has been greatly reduced. This preventative care has saved me a lot of expense and pain.
