My wife and I took lessons for our wedding dance at the Tarrytown/SleepyHollow location back in Summer 2021 - amazing people all around - very friendly and encouraging. Our teacher was Max who was hilarious and made us feel comfortable and was a pleasure to work with. We went to a dance party where we also rehearsed our dance and had a blast.. if we did not move from NY later that year we would still be going there for lessons for sure. Highly recommend to anyone and thank you Max for an awesome experience and great memories! - Stefan and Tracy

As a timid non dancer, I was extremely hesitant to try dance lessons. A gift certificate to Fred Astaire in Tarrytown changed everything. The experience was wonderful. Sasha, the director, was very understanding and supportive as was everyone in the studio. My instructors, Max and Marvan, made me feel comfortable and made the lessons positive and entertaining. And Eileen"s (the receptionist) big smile made me feel welcome every time. I can't recommend this studio highly enough whether you're a novice or a semi pro.

I cannot say enough about our experience over the last several years at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Tarrytown. I never expected at this time in my life that I would be dancing. After a long career in local government and my wife's career as a teacher we began to attend weekly dance lessons at the Fred Astaire Studio in Tarrytown. The dance instructors' were all superb and mostly from Ukraine. We have been able to learn the Waltz, my favorite, and also Rumba, Tango, Foxtrot, Swing and Hustle. Dance is a skill, an art, that anyone can learn if they give it a shot. And it is fun!, something couples can do together whether at the studio or at another venue. Life is definitely better with dance.

The Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Sleepy Hollow, New York is a very professional run studio. The owners and the teachers are the most talented, caring and friendly people you’ll ever meet! We joined the studio having hardly any experience in ballroom dancing and very quickly learned several styles. I’ve been to many ballroom studios and all I can say is Fred Astaire Tarrytown has been my favorite by far! The instructors are well trained and have excellent teaching methods. As a previous instructor at another studio, I had my doubts about how the studio will run. I wondered how their sales tactics will be and what they were going to try to push on me. Sasha was completely honest from the very beginning and I did not feel as if someone was trying to “get me.” They really focus on development and growth not only on the steps and techniques but also on how you feel while you dance. As a higher level dancer with a beginner partner I can 100% say that I recommend this studio to anyone who is considering learning or improving in dance. I will also like to add that I appreciate the extra steps taken to ensure everyone’s safety from covid-19. Trust the studio, trust the process, learn to dance. IT IS WELL WORTH IT!

We can’t thank Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Tarrytown (and particularly our instructor, Adriana) enough for our lessons, choreography, music editing, and advice for our wedding dance. Adriana was able to use our baseline skill level (bride with some dance experience, groom with zero experience) and create choreography that not only made us look experienced but more importantly, made it feel natural. Our first dance was my favorite part of the night!!!!! This is a memory we will cherish forever!!

The best dance studio in the tri state area! One can go into a studio perhaps feeling a bit nervous but not with this amazing staff. They are so welcoming and full of energy. I absolutely love the staff! The instructors are extremely patient and their level of expertise, really blows me away. Did I mention the instructors make dancing with them so much fun. I highly recommend, if you’re contemplating to join a studio, try this one. You will not feel as if there is competition or awkwardness, but you will feel as if they are your friends. The instructors at the studio are amazing. Aside from being very good teachers, they are a very friendly and fun group. They are all professional dancers who still compete. They accommodate every level of skill and interest. They also do wedding dance choreography and instruction.

My fiance and I took lessons during the spring of 2016 to prepare a dance for our summer wedding. We had so much fun learning how to dance and loved, loved, loved everybody at the dance studio that we decided to sign on for more lessons! All of the instructors are so positive and sincerely nice. Sasha and Olga (the owners) are also very attentive to all of the students. They took the time before or after the lessons to give us feedback on our overall progress. My fiance and I started off with the beautiful Thalia and zealous Artem as our instructors. Thalia did an amazing job breaking down the curriculum for us and gave us feedback at the beginning and at the end of every lesson. She gave us background knowledge of the type of dance, articulated the steps, and modeled the dance moves for us while giving us time to practice, internalize, and reflect on the movements. I love how this studio gives us a good balance on introducing new dance moves while allowing the old moves to become muscle memory. Artem has amazing stored energy that is shown through his smile and explosive dance. He has an innate ability to instruct dance through body language and provides feedback in a concise yet effective way. We would alternate every class between the two different coaches to allow different perspective from a male vs. female dancer. We had the opportunity to have the lovely and enthusiastic Adriana as our instructor. She knew how to help us add style to our dancing. Adriana and Artem both helped us develop a routine while I was pregnant (we decided to use that routine for our baby shower!!! Our guests loved the performance. I'm fortunate my husband didn't drop me during the lift). Both instructors were very mindful of my growing belly. They would choose dances that had less impact on my body such as the waltz, rumba, or foxtrot. We danced until 33 weeks of my pregnancy when my dance shoes couldn't handle my swollen feet. We have taken time off to juggle both work and baby and are hopeful to go back to our dance family in the future. They are a caring studio. Even the other students are so supportive and fun to talk to (Shout out to the veterinarian couple and Trisha). I highly enjoyed Friday night dance parties where we had the opportunity to socialize with the other students and practice our dance moves. I highly recommend this studio to anybody looking to learn or progress in their dancing.

This a great dance studio. Everyone is very professional and serious about teaching real ballroom dancing. The owners, Sasha and Olga are very highly regarded in the professional dance world and maintain very high standards for their teachers. If you want to learn the technical aspects of ballroom, have fun, and be taught by the best teachers in the area, this is the place. The studio is very friendly, organized and extremely comfortable. I will drive over an hour to get there, and love every minute.

Tarrytown's Fred Astaire was more than my fiancée and I ever imagined when we were looking for a place to choreograph a dance for our wedding. There are also these wonderful Friday night dance parties where you get to dance and mingle with all students and teachers. The best part of these parties is you don't have to know how to dance all the various dances practiced. Somebody is bound to grab your hand and teach you some basic steps. Everybody is so nice and all the instructors are so talented and patient. The owners, Sasha and Olga, run their studio with such joy and professionalism. Olga and Sasha Bylim have built and maintain a dance studio with attention and pride in quality that is admirable and must be second to none. I had the pleasure of having a dance lesson with Artem. As an experienced ballroom dancer, there are certain things that I look for. The number one thing is my partner's frame, which is how he holds his body. This is how he communicates what he wants his partner to do. Artem's frame is fabulous. It was such a pleasure to dance with him and he gave me some great pointers. Artem is new to the US, but he has been dancing ballroom since he was a child. Grab him for a lesson while you can. This guy will be in very hot demand before you know it.
