Hands down the best instructors for two step and line dancing in Nashville! Rich is incredible at explaining each and every step and makes you feel super comfortable, even when you feel like you’re never going to get it down. I had lots of anxiety about trying to learn to two step and Rich was so patient, kind and encouraging and now I’m able to two step anywhere and not feel self conscious. My friends and I had the best time! Thank you for everything :)

Rich and his team were incredible! My boyfriend and I took the beginner boot camp, and we learned so much in such a short amount of time, without feeling overwhelmed. Rich and his assistants broke down each move step by step until we all understood the moves and felt comfortable doing them with music. They also gave us individualized feedback which was very helpful. They made the classes super fun and the two hours each week flew by! We plan to attend the intermediate boot camp as well!

Mike has been awesome. I promise if he can teach me to do this comfortably, he can teach you as well. Mike makes learning fun, engaging and breaks it down simple and easy to learn. I had zero experience before my lessons and just within two I feel more than comfortable getting out there on my own. I still plan on taking more. Fellas, the beginner class can be a great date. Was told about the month long beginner boot camp by a friend. I started the first class with absolutely no two step dancing experience prior. After the 4 weeks ended I felt like I could navigate the dance floor with confidence and grow further in my beginner level skills that I obtained from taking the 4 classes with Rich. I enjoyed the class vibe so much I even took an additional class to practice! Definitely recommend Step Country classes for those who are interested in learning how to do two step dancing!

If you are considering dance lessons, look no further! Rich and his team are the best! My wife and I enjoy the music at honky tonks and wanted to gain confidence dancing. The amount that we improved from one week to the next was amazing! Rich and his assistants broke down each move step by step, making the learning in bite sized pieces. They made the classes fun and we met new friends along the way! We plan to attend the intermediate boot camp and are excited to get out on the floor!

This is the place to learn if you want to graduate from YouTube University! These are some of the smartest instructors out there! they don't go too fast, they are very informative and execute all their corrections with confidence and knowledge. The owner is a veteran and is a very veteran friendly company, and the prices they charge are AMAZING for Nashville, you get way more value for your dollar here. I hate spending more than I need to, but I don't feel that here at all. If anything I'm getting more for than what I paid for. Amazing place for beginners and experienced that wanna go to the next step. This is a local company, and not a big chain for everyone who enjoys supporting local businesses and people!

I took the beginner bootcamp with Rich and it was FANTASTIC! I had absolutely zero dancing experience coming into the class. In three classes Rich and the assistant instructors were able to teach me the two step form as well as five different moves to get me started. Their instruction gave me the confidence to get started out on any dance floor. Having finished the class a few weeks ago I have been out every weekend dancing. I wish I had found out about Step Country Dance years ago, because being able to go out dancing has been one of the most fun experiences I have had in a long time! There classes are also some of the most affordable ones I was able to find in the Nashville area. I hope to take their Intermediate Bootcamp sometime to learn some more moves. 12/10 would recommend for anyone looking to learn how to two step & country swing no matter your skill level!

My boyfriend surprised me with a private 2-step dance lesson when we took a trip down to Nashville. Mike was a very kind and dedicated instructor! He was patient and thorough and we learned so much in an hour! Next time we are in the area we definitely will be back!

I only knew the basics of two stepping and wanted to learn more. Wasn't sure if I needed the beginner or intermediate bootcamp so I just did the beginner bootcamp just to be safe. Boy howdy, am I glad I did! Learned so much than I thought I would and the moves they teach are great! Going to honky tonks is now almost a weekly occurrence since I have so much more fun now. Going to do their intermediate class next for sure!

On a recent weekend getaway, Step Country Dance gave our group of 9 dancing lessons at a local place (Nashville Palace). We were able to have the lessons before the bar opened, so no pressure of others watching; then we stayed to dance there into the evening (fun bar too). We had the best time and they had us all line dancing by the end! They were supportive, professional, fun, creative and REALLY talented. I recommend them highly!!

Good, fun Country dance lessons that really get you ready for the dance floor. Mike is a real good instructor who knows his stuff and know how to teach. Every beginner has different strengths, and Mike does a great job adapting to that. He helps us all feel comfortable, look forward to class, have a laugh, and made sure to fill in all the parts I needed to be able to do it live on the dance floor. I like the clear plan with milestones. After learning a move we also get good training on the style and emotion of the dance. The big ol why we are dancing! Pretty exciting, he must have some Country blood in him.

The entire 2 hour session is well organized, well thought out regarding what dance moves are being taught to what audience is in the session and professionally led. After only a month of training with the Step crew, starting with no knowledge at all In the ways of two-step dancing, this is my takeaway: 1) The lesson plans are easy to understand, great for beginners yet accelerating and building on each learned skill at an ideal rate. I’ve come away from each lesson with clear and quick improvement. 2) Mike and Rich are natural teachers and I’ve felt the benefits of both their constructive guidance and their positive, fun attitudes. 3) My confidence in dancing and being social has increased dramatically. I’ve never enjoyed going out with friends or meeting people so much, and it’s made a world of difference in building chemistry with women. It’s surprising how often I’m the one being asked to dance, actually! Between the personalities of the instructors and the excellently-paced structure of each class, I couldn’t be happier to keep learning here. The cost of classes is well worth the new skills I’ve gotten out of it and learning with this group continues to be an unforgettable experience. Can’t wait for more!

We are from Pennsylvania and decided to take a road trip. We visited Nashville and loved the atmosphere! I talked my husband into trying two step for the first time (he hates dancing). Rich was our instructor and he was incredible! Rich is a very talented dancer, but was able to slow it down to show us all of the fundamentals. We’re back in Pennsylvania and looking for places to two step… not many options here so we’re planning our next trip back to Nashville!! Can’t wait for Rich to take us to the next level.

If you have NOOOO idea how to get started in line dancing, but have enough courage and determination to try it out, check these guys out! I was so intimidated with messing everyone up whenever I would be out in a bar, and everyone is line dancing. It looks so fun, but I have absolutely no rhythm whatsoever. I finally built up the courage to just go for it, and found these guys! My friends and I were only in town for a weekend, but the stars aligned and we were able to get a crash course in all the basics. Mike was our instructor, and he was incredibly patient and encouraging throughout the experience. Despite my horrendous start, I was able to learn some moves, and had SO. MUCH. FUN!!! If you’re willing to laugh at yourself for a couple of parts in the beginning, these guys will help make a line dancer out of you in no time! I highly recommend them for all classes, and I have enough material to practice on my own for a bit until I return. I can’t wait to see them all again for round 2! Thank you STEP!

My friends surprised me with these line dancing lessons for my bachelorette party and it was the highlight of the trip! Calvin was hilarious and made the whole experience! I'm from California and so had never tried line dancing. Ever since middle school, I've been known to have two left feet. But, I was in Nashville and I said "what the heck!" Let's give this thing a go- and boy am I glad that I did. Mike was welcoming and the lessons felt more like hanging out with a knowledge friend more than anything. It was plain old FUN. By the end of the lesson I was comfortable stepping to almost any song that came on. I'll be back, and before then I'll be putting my new skills to use.
