My 9 year old daughter started at Momentum Dance Project two years ago. Initially we joined the studio because it was one of the only places we could find that offered modern technique for younger dancers. Quickly we realized just how special a dance home we had found. My daughter has thrived learning the different styles and the focus on technique has been wonderful for her development! She has had the opportunity to work with a variety of inspiring choreographers and leaves each class with a renewed love of dance! I am personally grateful to have found a dance studio that embraces diversity and tackles relevant topics in their competition pieces. I highly recommend MDP to anyone looking for a dance studio in the Twin Cities.

After dancing elsewhere for over a decade, my daughter took one class at Momentum and was hooked. The studio's focus on technique, self-expression, and teamwork creates a positive and uplifting dance environment which can be hard to find in the competitive dance world. The product MDP puts on stage is amazing. The studio and its dancers have won many awards and accolades across all ages and levels of competition.

I started dancing at Momentum Dance Project in July 2020. The owner followed all requirements for Covid-19 precautions from the very beginning which showed how much she cared about her students health and safety. The environment here is very welcoming and professional. The beautiful and unique choreography is often recognized by judges and other dancers, teachers, and studio owners because it is so different—in all good ways—from what you usually see from competition dancers. I have been treated with nothing but respect in my time at Momentum and it is my favorite place to be.

I've had the pleasure of both working with and for Momentum's artistic director, Tara, and from her I've learned the balance of technique and artistry. In her studio students flourish and become more than just dancers, but individuals. The students here learn discipline and structure which they are then given the freedom to work around in finding their artistic voice. Momentum is a space where students can learn and grow, and feel safe to be themselves in the process. It's difficult to find a studio that encompasses all the tools students need to learn and develop as strong dancers and compassionate humans, but Momentum delivers on both fronts.

Momentum is a unique studio that helps develop a dancers strengths and artistry, its quite beautiful to see the progression of the students when this is the focus. The quality of the guest choreographers and having Tara and Lynsey lead this culture and the studio is remarkable. Also noteworthy is the intentional relationship building with other artists and studios that is breaking down silos and looking at dance as a collective community that is not afraid to share talent and support each other. Can't wait to see how this company grows!

Both of my daughters started at Momentum this year. Our family appreciates the clear focus on technique and artistry. Our daughters are surrounded by strong adults and role models who so patiently accept them just as they are, who recognize and appreciate their individual strengths, and help guide them to become the best possible versions of themselves. The best nights of the week are dance nights if you ask them. Our family is so thankful for Momentum!

This is an excellent dance studio with teachers who care about technique and artistry. Can't say enough wonderful things about both Tara and Lynsey. The guest choreographers have been top notch as well. Another thing we like is that the studio is always looking for ways to give back to the community so the dancers have many opportunities to participate in charitable causes. This is a beautiful studio filled with creative and passionate artists! Everyone focuses on lifting each other up and working together to create meaningful and powerful pieces. Once you take your first class at MDP, you are forever a part of the family. The memories I made at this studio, with the wonderful artistic directors and dancers, will forever be in my heart!

I would highly recommend this Studio to anybody. The technique and the Artistry is great as well as the teachers. Tara and Lynsey always go above and beyond to help their dancers.
