Cute, local arts, crafts, and trinkets. They also host workshops like introductory crocheting. Friendly staff can help you find the right oddity to take home. Cool!

This store is great! A nice place to pick up a unique gift and they have fun classes as well. Look at my half-finished project from embroidery class! 🤩 …

Monster is a wonderful boutique of fun clothes and socks and other creative doodads that are perfect for gift giving. Also, they are really committed to inclusive sizing - lots of stuff is available in plus sizes, some up to 4x or 5x. You'll find lots of unique stuff here that you won't see anywhere else. They even offer craft classes, how rad is that? If you can't visit the store, their online shopping experience is great too - usually sent out within a day of ordering and with a thoughtful handwritten note. Monster's been around for awhile, be sure to visit so they'll be here for years to come.

I've been going to Monster since before they moved to Market. I love buying gifts here, as there is something for everyone. I love knowing I'm supporting local artists. Their sock collection is stellar. I also love their stickers and offbeat kids clothes. The atmosphere and staff keep me going back!

Monster went above and beyond when lending us a pin making machine. A supplier sent them the wrong size of one of the components and they worked really hard to find a stock of the right sized components for us, which meant that we still finished our pins before the event when we needed them. They have excellent, responsive customer service and I will definitely use them again. If I could give them ten out of five stars I would.

Came here for a meetup with the Seattle Murderinos for the monthly craft night! Super fun place - I really wish I'd visited this place before!

It's a fun little shop with lots of local pop culture artists work. A good place for little gifts from RetroPopNamu clothing and bags or Henry art of the like. So many cool socks, buttons, stickers, pins, hats, you name it.

We love this shop! Great selection of local, quirky, weird, snarky arts and crafts. Lots of stickers, sicks, and enamel pins. This is a good place to find gifts for the cool, weird people in your life. Also the people are friendly and helpful!
Be sure to also check out their class offerings. There's a lot of fun opportunities to learn a new skill. There's also two monthly craft nights which are a good place to meet new people while you work on your own projects.

Definitely worth the trip to Ballad and they are in a new larger store on Market street. Lots more room for unique gifts and we went in for just a pair of socks and left with a huge bag a gifts for almost everyone on our list and both those who were naughty and even more for those who are nice. This place rocks and much more than socks!

Great service!! I came upon this store by bicycle; I had forgotten my lock back home in CA, and I came up to WA to do some camping. So the clerk permitted me to bring in my bike. So thankful for that, first of all.
I went in to find a gift for my sister— the clerk was able to use her database to search for the theme of what I was looking for: mermaids. She showed me the various gift items that are mermaid themed. There are items for decoration, function, as well as fiber artsy type gifts. After I made my selection and paid, I was chatting at the register, and I got excited over free stickers. Taking those with me, I left with my purchase, and biked away, which meant to a ferry, back to a campsite, and that’s when I realized I’d forgotten my credit card.
I called the store, the clerk, Rosalie, said she’d mail me the card, which meant not having to cancel and order a new one. Thank you for a great buying experience and for your kind services!

This store was an accidental pop in and resulted in multiple hundreds of dollars being spent on local art, kitschy underpants, embroidery tools, and other goodies. And here's the most important thing. It's SIZE INCLUSIVE. 1x and 2x and 3x and 4x clothing is just mingling in, intermixed with the smaller sized clothing like, oh I don't know, women of size deserve cute stuff too! Thank you so much to the owner and sales associates for making a welcoming, inclusive, and hilarious store. You'll be able to find gifts for everyone in your life, from little kids to cool grandmas, and you'll find a treasure or two for yourself too!

This place is really great. The owners are very involved in the community and go out of their way to support local artists and artisans. Additionally, their merchandise is totally awesome, thoughtful, hilarious, and on point. I highly recommend coming in to browse and be inspired by all the cool stuff you see here.

I love doing gift shopping here! Everything is slightly more expensive than I would typically like to pay... BUT it's ALL made by local artists. I bought a shirt and a woman in the shop said "OH! That's one of mine! I made that!" I love going in and browsing, and it's my first stop when doing gift shopping on Ballard Ave.
Mackenzie Allen
This place is so much fun!! Great items, great gifts, great staff, great EVERYTHING!

I like the local art and the funky socks. I was a little surprised though to find so many of the long socks (identical) online through multiple retailers since I was told everything was local. The Studio Ghibli inspired art is breathtakingly beautiful. I want to buy so many pieces for my kiddo, gotta paxe myself.
Briana White
