The legend lives on at Filson every day. Epic gear for everything you do outdoors. Thank you, Scott, for giving me the tour and some history, but having the opportunity to browse and touch the merch was an amazing treat I'd been looking forward to for some time. Ultimately, it was amazing and overwhelming, but wonderful. The question is, which items would I love to wear for the rest of my life? That's the decision, since everything here is meant to last. I love it!

Been purchasing from Filson for a number of years. I am slowly replacing my non Filson clothing with more and more Filson items. Would love to be dressed inside out and top down in Filson wear some day. While; some of Filson's items are being made abroad and less materiel is used (more form fitting) and lesser quality materiel is used (not as sturdy); Filson still offers some of the best outfitter merchandise on the market considering the 3 F's: Form, Fit, and Fair-priced. To paraphrase The Filson maxim, (You've tried the rest) 'Might as well have the best'. One could argue Filson is the primogen of American Outfitting. The Customer Service is thorough and Filson staff take their time and are polite in store and by phone (reach a real bonafide breathing person). And shipping is timely and Filson emails tracking; if one is not into text notification- as is the case by me. Am attaching several photos; not to be a bore, of a few of my Filson goods, I am fortunate to own-- including my Pup's items which he enjoys as well. [And awesome catalogs as well].

I AM ONLY BUYING FILSON FROM NOW ON. I just got done with getting my bag repaired with Filson and I must say their customer service was the best ever- fast, responsive, and kind. I wish more companies were like this. Filson bags are great but its people are exceptional. After this experience, I'm a customer for life!

If you want to feel like a million bucks, while spending a million bucks, Filson is the brand for you! It's pricey no doubt, but the warranty makes it worth it for a lot of their products. I love their backs, Alaskan guide shirts, and their graphic tees!

An amazing experience. From seeing the production downstairs, the detailed decor and layout and the friendly staff it was a real treat. They have Tall shirts (pictured) and are the best fit yet for a slim 6'6" man!

Good visit. I thought the store would have more history than it did. I wish they had more tours of their facility daily. T-shirts are expensive for being basically a Gildan tee with a Filson tag. Service was very helpful and professional. I had it on my list to visit.

I am a long time Filson fan but today was my first visit to a retail store (the flagship store in Seattle). I read a lot of the google and yelp reviews prior to my visit and was disappointed to read so many people apparently very unimpressed with their customer service. Personally I had a great experience. I was helped by several different staff members and all were pleasant and helpful. It's not the type of place where you are hounded by commission hungry sales people which in my opinion is nice but if you need something you'll have to ask directly and you're not necessarily going to get the same type of attention you'd get at a Macy's or Nordstrom. The building is beautiful inside and out, like a museum. The change rooms are stunning and massive however they could use a little more light, and someone dedicated to working the change rooms when it's as busy as it was on a Saturday. The products are very expensive, there is no doubt about that. You're not just paying for a product that will last a very long time if taken care of but you're also paying for the Filson name. Many of their shirts and some items are NOT made in the USA so if that is a concern for you then pay attention to the tag. But it seems that all of the luggage, wool items, and jackets, pants, etc are made right there in Seattle. I am from Canada and did ask about tax exceptions which they were not willing to do but they were willing to sign up my wife for the emails and use her 10% off coupon which is actually slightly better than no tax. All in all I had a great experience.

Filson is a gem. I work in the construction industry and burn through clothing. A few years ago I invested in filson for my workwear. As far as their original filson products are concerned - It holds up 2.5 times as long. Even better, when it wears out, their repair team is AMAZING. They add patches to holes, and do some sweet stitching over spots that are starting to give out. No clothing is indestructible, but these folks keep their clothing going and out of the landfill.

I was having a sizing issue with a pair of jeans and needed assistance. I live in Montana so was unable to try on other options. I called the flagship store and was greeted by Jillian the manager. What a pleasure, she helped me immediately with my issue and had another pair of jeans coming right away. She then went above and beyond sending a handwritten letter thanking me for allowing Filson to assist me with their products. WOW! Thanks for making my day. It's nice to know there are still real people who believe in others and aren't bread to be robots. Thanks again.

This is the real deal. Genuine quality, but wish they had more tall sizes. I would argue men who like these clothes are more on the large side of the size range. If they had XXL Tall jackets that I really liked today I would have purchased both that I tried on but were too short. Anyway, great place, and at least I found a great belt that I like.

Very high quality clothes I bought. Two shirts , the same button up stretchy fabric short sleeve in tan and red. Comfortable soft and durable. Had them for over a year now and this is the longest I've ever had one of these shirts last before fading, ripping, or fraying. I use it everyday for work and alternate will cleaning. You get your money's worth if the price seems a little high to you. It will pay off in the long lasting quality they provide

Bought a backpack there a couple years ago and ragged it out. I mean, I realllly did a number on it. Took it in and they fixed it up like brand new. (Maybe it's even kinda cooler now.) Their warranty is awesome.

This is one of the coolest stores that I’ve actually ever been to. You walk in and all of the interior decorating and the styling around the entire store is really rustic and really well done. There are so many different types of clothes in here it’s hard to leave without spending a lot of money but it’s all really well done. There is a very cozy fireplace towards the back with nice big chairs that you can sit and relax on if you don’t feel like walking around shopping. There is also really good women’s section towards the back left.

I sent in a 20+ year old item for repairs. Not only did they fix the tear, but fixed every cut, nick, stitch that was worn. Plus they hemmed them with an ultra thick reinforced hem!! Holy cow, above and beyond expectations. So cool to have a company really honor their warranty. I've got 3 Filson items today, and will be a customer for life. Thanks!!

I'm old enough to have worn out several items of Filson's outdoor work gear: chaps, an oilskin coat, and 2 shirt jacs. It took 20 to 40 years in some cases, but that was from hard work out in the woods as a land surveyor. Uniquely Seattle! Perfectly suited to our wet marine climate. Now you city slicker, fashionistas swarm here to buy the look. About time you found quality gear that will outlast your average 5 minute attention span and sense of style. This is lifetime gear.

Great service and an excellent opportunity to try on pieces I only ever get to see online. Their imported cotton pieces are priced as if made in USA, so I prefer to stick with the pieces actually made in USA. Their wool and tin cloth are always worth it, the imported pieces not so much.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Filson. I’ve used one of their tote bags everyday as my work bag for about 5 years now and it is holding up great. I have one of their backpacks, two jackets and many other items and I can’t say enough good things about the brand. I especially love the flagship store because you can find items that are made at the workshop on site and are unique to that location, and sometimes they only make one so your piece is totally unique. The staff have always been helpful and the space itself is impressive. If I lived closer I would probably pop in all the time!

I've had a Filson jacket for a few year now. I think it is the Bell bomber. They've been sending email newsletters ever since. So while in Seattle I decided to stop by the flagship store. It's very nice and classy. Kinda outdoorsy too.The sales people were nice and I almost bought a tin duffle bag. But I went over budget quite a bit on this road trip so decided against it. Road trips aren't cheap sadly. The factory being there too is pretty awesome. It's neat seeing where something you bought might have been made. It says made in the USA, I hope it was here. I just glanced for a few seconds, I didn't wanna stare while people were working.

This is one of my favourite shops in Seattle. The first floor is the production area, so while you walk up the stairs to the retail space, you can take a glimpse at people creating some of the products. This store is an ode to Pacific Northwestern outdoor culture. Clothing and apparel for most all outdoor scenes. Lots of leather products.

The flagship store is worth a visit. A short flight or two of stairs leads past the manufacturing area on the first floor - pause for a minute to watch the action if you like - to the store itself on the upper floor. Best clothes brand in America! I want my stuff to last and keep up with my lifestyle and Filson is the brand that I have fallen in love with. There is no way to truly say how much I love this brand, short wind is that most of my closet is filled with Filson bags, shirts and jackets. I was introduced to this brand my my grandfather and its my go to ever since. Granted it is an expensive brand but totally worth it, They stand by everything they make; I have demolished shirts and they simply fix it or replace it, regardless if it was my fault or the shirts. Their bags and clothes can go from the deep forests of the Uinta's, then into a nice hotel and then back to my every day life of high school and work. Whenever I am in Washington I always make sure to visit their flagship store, its well worth the time, the staff is kindly and patience. 10/10 brand.

My husband and I purchased a Filson cotton blanket a few months ago. After it was washed following the directions the blanket completely lost all of its texture. I went through the warrenty process to resolve the issue and was returned the item with a note saying it was fine. I called customer service and they were incredibly rude and said that's just how it is. This after having spent thousands of dollars with this company. No longer a Filson customer. It's unbelievable they treat people this way. The lifetime warranty is a joke and used to get people to spend the money on their products. Follow up: Shelly with customer service swooped in to save the day. She understood why I was upset and was determined to fix the issue at the source as well as solving my situation. I received a new blanket (the new version) to my home. Even with moving states she was able to get it right to me. Faith restored in Filson. Thanks Shelly!

I've been a Filson customer for over 15 years and still have everything I've ever bought and even after my bags have gotten tattered, Filson has mended them at no cost and the bag remains a personal attachment still because it carries the character and history I've put on them over the years.

Very nice historic landmark store with nice rustic styling and large decorative wood-carvings of wildlife. Lower level is manufacturing area that you can obaerve through the glass walls. Upper level is the retail area, chock full of outdoor, expedition and hunting clothing and accessories, as well as a repair shop. Hand-made high quality clothing, but with the expected pricing to match. They are even selling rustic, wooden snowflake decorations for the holiday season. You can lounge on a bearskin rug by the giant wood-burning fireplace.

Employees are genuine and have considerable knowledge about their merchandise uses, how they're crafted, and sourcing locations. Always a cozy, warm atmosphere. This Filson has to be one of the best retail stores in America for two reasons. First, they make the clothes on the first floor that you can see as you walk up the stairs to the second floor showroom. Now you know it was truly made in America & you don't mind paying a premium. Second, the selections there are the most classic non-logoed clothes anywhere and are second-to-none in their construction! If you are in Seattle and you like quality rustic apparel, treat yourself and stop in there!

Excellent brand that stands behind their products for life. You get what you pay for. I bought a wallet there that only just wore out after ten years of use in my back pocket. They stopped selling that wallet because they couldn't guarantee it for life. I bought the new all-leather wallet. I expect it will last a very long time. To visit the flagship is a sportsman's dream. Chainsaws, exposed beams and wood burning fireplace...I could live here. To get to touch, see and try on what I normally only see online or in the catalog was a treat. The quality is apparent but if you're still unsure go on the tour where you see their actual goods being painstakingly manufactured. The staff treats you like a long lost friend and no visit is complete without a prize from the jerky vending machine. The entire experience exceeded my expectations which were high to begin with.

This place is a fancy schmansy outdoor wear store. But it's probably a better place to be a lumbersexual because you won't want to take any of these clothes outside they are so darned expensive. Im pretty sure the quality is above average. This place is the Nordstrom of outdoor wear. Great service, very friendly staff and a good service department if you have to get your Forester overalls sewed up and re-waxed like my boyfriend did. They're shipping his pants back to him for free. Awesome! Edit: I am unfortunately having to remove a star from this review. So when my boyfriend dropped off his work pants he was told he would get them in four weeks. He was not told it would take four weeks to sew them up and four weeks to waterproof them. We both think the guy who helped us ( who was super nice and seemed to mean well) probably wasn't used to repairing pants and then waterproofing them. Then the other day we get a call that they are ready for pick up when they were supposed to be mailed. Anyone who is needing these services be forewarned. Drop off your things at the beginning of summer so you can get them back for rainy season just to be safe.

This is what REI used to be like! Though not a CO-OP, Filson's has been making rugged outdoor wear for over a hundred years in Seattle. Their coats used to be the standard issue for the National Park Rangers, and they guarantee and repair their jackets and bags for life... you can even bring in your grandfather's old Filson hand-me-down and they'll fix it.
