Needed to get some items for the Renaissance faire, and boy did they deliver! Picked up a ruffly top and “pirate” pants for my partner. I got myself a white ruffly top that pairs perfectly with my corset, and some awesome harnesses that suit this year’s pirate theme. They were super patient with me and helped me come up with an outfit. I was able to exchange everything that didn’t work for more accessories that did! Update with photo! Definitely not Renaissance wear, the only things close were pirate themed. Very nice store though! Lots of cool things that could be costumes or worn daily! Employees seemed a bit tired of the day with 3 hours left on the clock...

My main cosplay outfit didn't show up in time for the convention I was going to. Metro Boutique was recommended to me by someone I reached out to. I went there with one of my best friends as we were leaving within 6 hours to go to the convention... The employees there were super helpful and worked with a back up costume idea I had. I was super stoked with their work and my ad hoc costume worked! People at the convention knew who I was cosplaying! I gotta say thank you to the people here that worked with me who made the look I had in mind work. I absolutely recommend this store for their understanding and being able to think of alternatives in a pinch! Thank you! <3

It's too bad they don't accommodate plus sizes because the clothes here are so cool. I'm usually a 16 but I couldn't even get on any of the dresses I wanted to try on, even though they were the largest sizes they had, and should've fit me. Especially considering it's a woman owned store, you would think they'd be more sensitive to this issue and carry some plus sized clothes. I'd probably buy them.

This store is chill, nice, employees are great. There was a situation with theft that occurred here (on video) and I saw the two petty little girls that decided to have their friends blast negative comments! No I’m not affiliated with this store in anyway but, living in the area, I support small businesses and don’t support targeting. These people are trying to “shut down” a company based on lies. Please visit the store and see how they’ll treat customers for yourself!

I bought the most amazing shoes and tights there. The shop is really good for average-ish priced accessories, but is pretty inaccessible to people who don't have a lot of money to spend on things like clothing and costumes.

My Mom and I went in there looking for a wig for my mom cuz she just lost her hair due to chemo. The lady who helped us was amazing! She was thoughtful and sweet and if she was just pretending to care, she did a damn amazing job! She was very helpful and my mom left the store feeling beautiful again!

A great shopping experience here with a friend of mine. We came into a welcoming shop that was want and inviting. The product variety was great and the quantity, given the small space, was large. The staff was exceptionally knowledgeable on all the brands and products, including making suggestions on sizing and outfit choices. They staff was also fun to chat with and it wasn't just a shop, but an experience. Highly recommend this place if you're looking to do some fashion boutique shopping.

Everyone there was SO NICE and helped me find the perfect outfit for me! They also offered me a discount on a corset that had a minor fault in the zipper, which I thought was so sweet since it still functions perfectly. If you're looking for fun costumes, unique clothes, and neat trinkets, this is the place and I couldn't reccomend it enough!!!

Metro boutique is a great place to shop at for fashion more on the alternative or gothic side. If you're like me who despises big corp alternative fashion stores such as Hot Topic and Spencer's then I totally would suggest checking out Metro boutique. The employees do their best to make sure everyone is feeling welcomed and helping shoppers find what they are looking for. Their items can be pretty pricey but I mean if you want real alternative clothing then it's totally worth it because a lot of the items are well made. I recently went to Metro boutique for platform boots as they are the only place in the Portland/Vancouver that actually sells them. Despite Metro boutique being a great place to shop at I do think that the store is a little small (like most of the stores in Hawthorne) and since it's really the only one of its kind in the area it can get crowded. Sometimes I could be overwhelming. Other than that I think Metro is a great place to shop at. I give Metro 4 stars for their great service and nice clothing. One star has been deducted for store smallness.

I’ve been a long-time regular and the people who work here are always awesome. And it is from this spot I get all my accessory necessities here for Halloween, Belly dancing, the Vampire Masquerade Ball, everything really. Yesterday I had a particularly good experience when I came in to browse shoes and met a newer face named, Sara(I think) and she was as helpful as she was sweet!. :) It was really refreshing during a time like this when social interaction is limited and there is much to fret about in general. Thank you for being awesome!

My friends and I went there today and the two people working there were fantastic. the manager was so kind and helpful. talking to them felt like talking to friends and that’s very important i feel to have in a business. Update: much better smelling sanitizer. I love the wig selection. A bit pricey but there are some cool ones and you can get them quickly when you need one now. Clothing and stuff is still awesome, of course. The girl at the counter made a remark to me about the sanitizer not smelling like tequila in a passive aggressive way. Sorry I didn't like the locally supported stuff. I'm honest lol. Don't make me feel awkward if I don't like something. I've bought a lot of stuff at the store. I'd like to continue to support a local spot and send friends there. Let's not make it awkward lol. The clothing is awesome. I was totally turned off by the tequila hand sanitizer though. I don't like stores using regular booze for my hands. I had to go to work and smelled like I just left the bar.

I love metro boutique; one year I bought a gorgeous holographic sequin dress for New Years, and I’ve worn it multiple times, it fits beautifully. I’m very picky about glitter, and they have a nice selection of loose glitters and glitter gels, in addition to their fun shades of makeup, trendy lingerie, leggings, other clothing and costumes, shoes, etc. Some pieces are somewhat pricey (I’ve bought two bodysuits here, each were $60), but the pieces I own from metro have held up well and retained their sparkle. Plus, I’d rather spend a little more at a local business than find something similar at a huge corporate place.

I love visiting this shop whenever I visit Hawthorne, which is often because I live nearby. I love their unique one-of-a-kind style of clothing, and their accessories and piercing section (even though I'm boring and don't have anything pierced) are gorgeous. I don't outright buy stuff here often due to the often-high prices, but if I made just a little bit more money I'm almost positive this would be my go-to store for a unique style of clothing. Also, while I might not have piercings, a close friend of mine has been pierced here several times, and I've come to support her a few time that's happened. The piercing room is adorable, the piercers she's had have been really nice, and she loved the experience and wouldn't want to go to any place else. If I decide to ever get piercings, I'd definitely be giving this a try as well.

This place is a must if you are putting a costume together. They have a decent range of sizes in novelty hosiery, although typically a much reduced range of variety in those sizes. They airways have an entertaining offering of masks, wigs, and steampunk accessories. You can count on finding everything from wings to tutus, top hats to spiked platforms. It's worth it to go just to get ideas. I only give it 4 stars because of the reduced variety in upper size ranges, both for men and women. For example, it's pretty challenging to find the same cute bustier in a size 16 (probably the median size in America) as in a size 8.

Awesome costumes and kinky clothes for festivals or a night out. A lot of corsets, dresses, tutus, leggings, accessories, and shoes. Most of everything is a decent quality, but you get what you pay for at boutique prices for sure.

This store is great for when you want to find something you can usually only find online and allows you to try it on. But watch out for the insane markups, sometimes it's so expensive that not even the price of shipping from online stores would make it worth buying from here instead.
