They have a lot of cool stuff from figures to comics and cards. Their employees can be nice but my experience with them has been 50/50. Sometimes they’re nice, other times they’re not. My biggest gripe with them is their awful prices on their trading cards. Their prices are essentially scalper prices. They had a 20% “discount” on certain products where it’s actually 20%-25% higher than retail. Please only come here for comics at most because your gonna get robbed if you buy cards here. I’ll update this if I see any positive changes. Thank you

My favorite of all the local comic shops I've been to. They have a great selection of comics, books, toys, stickers, trading cards, and collectibles. Everything is well organized, and there is room to get around without crashing into things. The staff has always been helpful amd pleasant, and I've never felt rushed out the door or hard-sold on anything.

I love this place. I look forward to going every week. I came in a year and a half ago looking to get into comics. The staff were so helpful back then and they remain helpful now. One of the highlights of my week is going in on Wednesdays. The staff is so knowledgeable and at the same time they are very friendly to newbies. I have received great recommendations from the staff. It’s clean and well organized. I highly recommend this shop for anyone who is interested in comics.

They have some cool figures and merch pertaining to numerous animes/shows. Definitely the spot for comics with various selections and genres. Awesome staff is always a plus!

Great place to go they have Yu-Gi-Oh tournament every Saturday with possibly they best prizing getting a pack for each match win and kody and the staff are very helpful and very enthusiastic would recommend going if your in the area.

Only HG Gundam kits this time. They had a good deal where if u spend 40 dollars on gundam kits, you get a free 30 minute mission kit. The staff was friendly and there were many comic books and anime merch.

Great store with an awesome selection for such a small footprint. Found exactly what I was looking for to keep the kids entertained for a while as well as some Copper Age collectible titles I might just have to swing back to pick up. Tables for gaming and a good selection of games as well, representing all ages in the Board Game Renaissance. Staff was friendly and helpful, advising on storylines and which issues to pick up in order to not miss anything important. Shop local and often!

I stopped to ask a question about a comic and some "Mad" magazines. If one is into Comics, this might be a good place to check out. I'm not, so I wasn't impressed, although there were people sitting around shooting the breeze that looked comfortable there.

I heard a rumor they sell comic here, so I went. I found some old Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine comics. There's a good selection of old and new. Prices are great, too. Employees are helpful, attentive, and friendly. I threatened to return for a first-appearance Gambit. So what? I'm recommending this place for sure. People should buy locally to keep these places open. Five stars.

My wife and I's go to comic book store where we have our weekly box! They're very good about knowing what series you like and asking if you want certain new series or spinoffs compared to your current subscribed weekly comics. They also have a lot of anime/manga resulted things and funkos, board games, etc.

Clean and well organized! We found a lot of cool anime posters and stickers on our visit. This location has a have a little bit of everything like figurines, gundams, Funko pops, manga, plushies, pokemon cards and DND dice sets. Totally worth checking out!

Was a 5 star until the heavy set guy with beard and long hair whom i believe is the boss was rude to us for the 3rd time!! 1st & 2nd i blew it off cause maybe he was having a tough day whatever reason but nah 3 is enough ! if you dont like your job and or your too LAZY to do it then find another one dont take your bs out on customers!! Rude af! I've done nothing but spend money at this place even though the prices for their back issues are exorbitant, but i still brought them my money and this guy is rude?? Naw! I read one of the reviews where you said " we ALWAYS take care of our local customers first" that is a blatant lie i went in wed. Or Thursday before this recent comic con to sell or trade some pokemon cards and this same rude joker i mentioned above told me verbatim. "Nope! Not doing any kind of buying or trades we are too busy cause comic con is this weekend " unquote keep in mind this guy was sitting on his butt doing nothing!! (As usual) is that taking care of your locals let alone your regulars? Id say not! Very disappointed and after reading reviews id say rudeness is commonplace there at Samurai comics at least from the overweight bearded guy that im pretty sure is the boss ! Sad honest true !

Was hot and funky inside on "free comics" day but me and my kids still enjoyed browsing, buying, picking up a few free editions. I loved taking way too many pictures with the Dead Pool statue!!! A gentleman helped me locate every comic featuring a person of color. I bought a copy of almost every one🤩 Got a kick out of the place for sure😁 Heads up though guys, Black Panther should salute #WakandaForever to literally the only brown people in the building LOL Come on man smh lol

Came in yesterday while visiting Phoenix. Not a bad store per se, but a very middling one to be sure. Nice open concept and I was greeted and told have a nice say when I left by the employee at the front counter. For me, I was just surprised by the lack of key comics and what they had on the walls as keys. They legitimately had $5 books displayed on the wall taking up space. Which means they aren’t buying a lot of collections to resell (that’s the lifeblood of a comic shop) or I was there at entirely the wrong time. This would be a good shop to come and get your weekly pull of new comics. Prices weren’t obscene like they were at Collectors Marketplace, so that was nice. But I’d have preferred to have seen some cool gems and a wider selection of options.

Great selection of books in a big clean store. Customer service was a bit lacking and the floppies dont come with bag and board. They have a large selection of indy publishers that I can't find at dreadnought or drawn to comics. I have a large pull list at DTC but my gf did find some indy titles she liked and started an account with them so I guess I'll be visiting more often. Also the have trading cards and do Digimon tournaments but no Friday Night Magic

The store has an open layout with lots of selection. It's clean and the staff are helpful. I came here looking for kids comics for my boys, and we all had a good time. The area of town is not so nice (there were some homeless people sleeping on one side of the building during the daytime), but we felt safe enough.

This place used to be my go to for gunpla and Pokémon cards. Recently they’ve dialed back the gunpla, by significant amount! Also, the customer service isn’t that great, the one guy with the glasses behind the counter always seems like he’d be anywhere else but there. I can understand having a bad day, but as I’ve mentioned, it’s been more than one occasion. Sadly this place used to be my first stop when I’m looking for cards, gunpla, manga… now it’s my last. And sometimes I just can’t be bothered to stop. With Collectors Marketplace and Dave’s Card shop nearby, I would think they would want to step up their game.

This store is staffed by very friendly, helpful people. They are welcoming to newcomers, and enthusiastic about sharing new hobbies with outsiders. "Comic shops" have a bad reputation as being cesspools of toxic masculinity, gatekeeping, and generally anti-social, hostile environments. This store really bucks the trend, and my wife feels comfortable talking to the employees about new comics and asking for suggestions. I really recommend this location for anyone new to comics or gaming that wants to try something new!

The selection of games, comics and accessories for everything is so nice. I will definitely be coming back to hopefully increase my game collection. I wish they still carried art card sleeves, but there are other places to purchase them from. Staff was friendly and very helpful with my questions. I will definitely be back.

I liked the shop, it was bright and had clearly marked age appropriate sections. They have knowledgeable staff and the store is clean and masks are enforced. It was however a little close and warm, needs better air flow but other than that I will be going back many times!

my daughter is heavily into anime, and loves the figurines. This place is a must for any anime lover! ive never seen the gachapon machines in the states and they have a few, Qposkets your flavor? they had several while we visited, they are beautiful figures! nicely done. This place has genuinly tried to bring the japanese anime and all things japanese style collecting to a whole new level, without having to go to japan yourself.

Like most comic shops, this store has had to lean into games and toys to stick around, but it still very much has that universal comic shop feel. Big wall of new issues, shelves full of the TPB's. A little light on the back issues, but better than many other shops out there.

Great comic store. They got a good back catalog and all the up to date issues. Manga section is ok, mainly just mainstream and always missing the first few books. Decent Gunpla section but you gotta get there first since they go quick.

For the most part, they had what I wanted. What they didn't have, they went the extra mile to try to track down for me. They offered to have stuff sent from another store, so I wouldn't have to drive further, and even offered to order things that I asked for. I've only dealt with a couple of workers, but they seem passionate about the things they sell, and also seem to love their jobs. Not only do they make myself feel comfortable while shopping, they are really great with interacting, and making my son interested in reading comics. We've only been in the store like 5 times, but we have never had a bad experience.

I popped in Samurai Comics today while in the city with my wife. It was my first time at this location and was very impressed by the layout and the selection. The staff were very friendly and even made my wife feel comfortable (she is not a comic nerd like I am and had never been to a comic shop before). I was looking for a particular issue of a comic and the staff member who assisted me dug through the title that I was looking for and found me not only the issue that I was after but a limited variant cover. I don't get in to that part of the city very often but the next time that I do, I'll definitely be going back.

Stopped by here while out running errands with my 5 year old son today and this place has a way nicer layout than the old store! While I did not buy anything my son enjoyed looking around and checking out the kids books. The guy at the front I am assuming is the manager was very nice to my son which always means a lot to me and makes my wallet open! I will return with my daughter now that I know about the kids books section as she loves to read the cartoon books! Keep up the great work!!

Today I gave the store a call, inquiring on their Covid-19 hours. I was assisted with gracious care and consideration towards the current social distancing policy. I stopped by for a few board games for the family whilst at home in quarantine. It was my first time visiting, and I was very impressed by the immense selection of games, comics, and figures, along with the weekly events they usually hold, when quarantined gamers are let public once again! Love this place! They have a great selection of back issues, graphic novels and collectibles. There's even tables set up for magic the gathering and other card/tabletop games. They recently added an app for keeping track of your subscription; adding, ordering or removing items right at the palm of your had! Limited parking in front with additional space in the back; definitely worth a trip and making this your weekly comic stop.

The store's a bit oddly organized and it can be hard to find what you need in their manga section, but they've done a good job of overall making their store accessible and catered to customers. Nice employees, but staffing issues. I play MTG semi competitively and not having an employee knowledgeable in the game when you feature singles in the case right next to the register is a little annoying. However, I was able to haggle a decent price for an expensive card plus others, so I may end up returning for additional purchases in the future.

Came in with a list of magic cards that I needed right away for a present (cat deck for my sister) and I was expecting to have to search through their massive inventory by myself. I was surprised when they were more than happy to help me look! A search that would have taken hours by myself was completed in 20 minutes thanks to the friendly staff! One of the few true comic shops left in the valley... Probably left in the US, really. great selection of stuff, gets all the new books every Wednesday and offers subscription services. Friendly staff and fun place to hang out as well. Covid has put a dampner on the shop, but they offer a free mask and hand sanitizer as soon as you walk through, definitely a business trying to survive and still practice safety protocols. Recommended for any comic nerd.

It's a pretty cool place, it has Dungeons & Dragons figurines and a whole bunch of other stuff. I was looking for Dungeons & Dragons stuff for my son and my brother and family. There aren't really a lot of places that carry that stuff these days. I do wish that they had more of the figurines and Dungeons & Dragons items, but, it is what it is.

The staff is extremely friendly. They are always excited to help, and have so many good recommendations. I usually feel a little ill at ease when going to comic shops, as I only recently started reading them and try to stay away from the big two, Marvel and DC. Katie, and the awesome manager who was with her when I visited not only gave me good recommedation on what to get, but also took the time to learn what I like, and expand from there. They also have a crazy good selection of pop figures, and I've almost finished my bombshell collection. Also, if Katie and the Manager end up reading this, I Kill Giants was amazing. Some people enjoy comics and related materials and items. Whether it is the anticipation of holding the newest edition in your favorite series or the collector's aspect. This establishment is the absolute "go to" place. Even if comics are not really high on your priority list, this establishment offers so much more. Samurai Comics is one of the better local game stores around the valley. It's organized, well stocked and clean. Their staff is also very friendly. I was not satisfied with their small inventory of singles and marked up prices on products (booster boxes especially). While their staff is friendly, the checkout process is awful. They only use one register and long lines form quickly. This is compounded by the lengthy conversations between cashier and regular customers who are always there.

I appreciate Samurai's commitment to operating in central Phoenix among its other sites-- first and foremost. Samurai Comics is my usual go to destination when I want to look for Gunpla, various TCG, and comics. Staff is knowledgeable, but can be curt when busy. Inventory includes plushies, posters, comics, models, stickers, collectable cards, and much more. Every visit is a joy.

Super hero level comic store. Even though they seemed to focus on the big pubs there was still a sizable enough selection for my tastes. Picked up vol. 1. 2. Of seven to infinity. Highly recommended if you liked Tokyo Ghost. Anyway good shop, good people. Can't go wrong.

I have only come here for the Magic The Gathering cards, so I can't speak to any of the many other offerings. As for MTG, there is a nice selection of high-value cards on display and large, well-organized binders of lower-cost cards available for browsing. All prices are based on online market prices, which is the common practice for MTG, so you won't find any ridiculous deals, but you also won't get conned. Most of the staff is also knowledgeable enough to make recommendations if you are building a deck.

Occasional comic buyer. Great friendly staff. Been to enough comic stores where they make you feel weird because you're not there every week. Not here! Purchased the new Robotech issue that was just released, the guy there let me know about shipping problem with the different covers the book was supposed to have. Let me know they were shipping the following week. Because of that guy, went back the following week to pick up a few different covers. Keep up the great work!

It's a nice shop with a great variety of comics, toys, model kits, board games, and card game supplies. The staff was friendly and helpful, my complaint is the small parking lot. Definitely worth checking out.

I really want to like Samurai Comics, I really do. They have a good collection of comics and action figures, though not the best. The store looks nice and is spacious. They have magic tournaments on a pretty regular basis. The main problem here is with the customer service. They usually do not make you feel very welcome, even to the point of not making eye contact while your standing at the counter..you literally have to be asked to be helped before they will look up. And even though they host magic tournaments, there are employees who will tell you its not there job to know anything about it. Why would I buy a product from a place that won't/can't train there employees about thier own products? If you just want to pick up a comic, not interested in asking questions about magic and don't care if your greeted, this place may be fine for you. However if you like comics, magic, and good customer service...I would highly suggest Pop culture paradise in Tempe, that currently sitting at a 25 (zaggot) ratting on Google.

All employees wear masks, sneeze guards are at the registers, and they have plenty of fun stuff to keep the whole family entertained for a summer lockdown: not just new and back issue comics, but toys, games, models, plushies, buttons, stickers, coloring books, gifts, et cetera. I have heard about this place for two years and finally stopped in to "evaluate" it for my own. Since moving to AZ it seems like all of the comic stores are fairly well networked and know each other pretty well and when everyone says to go see a certain business, it must do something right. I can't speak to any snobbery in my two visits on back to back days, today I was approached and asked if I needed help and the guy even went above and showed me some stuff I might like based off what he saw me looking at (Long brown hair, didn't catch a name). Prices were good to me, the toys were all the same prices as Toy Anxiety or any retail chain, comics were easy to find and laid out well. The one thing that stood out to me was the smell, that place smelled awesome! Most places don't care about the hygienic appearance of their store and it's obvious. Some even let homeless people live there (Not to mention any names *cough cough* JJC) . I like the store and since it's close to work will be stopping by more often now.

What can you sell me? I can pay but please show me value. A few moments later..... Wow, this place is amazing. I learned about DC, EC, Mad Magazine, what to collect and not collect. I love history and today I received a history lesson. After all the fun I bought a few items, spent $600, and will definately come back again and again. The coolest. It was my first time in a comic book store and I wasn't disappointed. They have a Deadpool statue inside that alot of people pose in front of. The selection of comics is massive. They also have trading cards like magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokémon. There was a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament at the time I went. I grabbed a dice set for dungeons and dragons and checked out after looking around. The clerk dropped my dice but he picked them up, I think he missed the d4 though.
