SCIP hands down has the best staff and store. Everyone is kind, patient, and have the kindest faces. I have literally never had a bad experience there and owe my sanity and life to them after years of abusing my hair with Helen of Troy straighteners straight to my gel coated hair. They are all beautiful inside and out. Literally my entire family comes to SCIP.

I absolutely adore this place. Pizza is the best makeup artist, maybe ever?! She is a gem, always making me look fabulous for Mardi Gras, Halloween, weddings & more. They do amazing colors, haircuts and styling, and they also have a great nail artist and spray tan services. They sell the best merch' for all your costume desires. Everywhere I go - all ages, races, genders, binary and beyond, nationalities, artists, accountants, tourists, locals, dogs and cats. They all love my hair. I’m thinking like.. What? Then I remember. Princess Pizza created this Siamese fighting fish fever-dream color that feels so perfectly synced I forget that my hair doesn’t really grow out of my head this way. That Princess Pizza. She got a gift.

I was in New Orleans for a friend’s wedding and desperately needed a spray tan (my first ever) after living in the UK the past year. Kerrie was friendly and explained everything thoroughly. I felt at ease and best of all I was very happy with the result. As an added bonus - my husband was extremely skeptical of me getting a spray tan as he assumed it would look more orange than anything, and Kerrie said we would prove him wrong… that we did! As a longtime client of Dara's I wouldn't trust my color to anyone else. And her new salon is hands down the coolest, prettiest, most comfortable place I've ever had my hair done! She thought of everything--from the game room if you have to wait or process (or bring your partner), the quiet, dark, peaceful, private shampoo room, and the colorful, laid back salon. Plus there's a boutique with handmade pieces --you won't find items like this anywhere else. And--there's parking! Prices are totally reasonable, and she and her assistant are really good about making sure that even if more than one client is there, you aren't waiting--there's always something in progress on your hair. Great knowledge of color theory and she's up front about what is and is not possible--although with her, almost everything is possible!

Dara not only is the most skilled hairdressers but she really cares about her staff and clients and created such a magical, positive ambiance in her cute, galactic-themed salon. Her work speaks for itself but know that it’s not just the hair, it’s an entire experience and I love it!!

I had a great experience at She Comes in Peace. As a guy with long hair that prefers a clean appearance, Dara worked with the natural arrangement of my hair to give me the subtle eccentricity that i was looking for. The atmosphere is laid back. I sometimes feel out of place as a guy in a hair shop, but it was always cool here. Everyone was very laid back and helpful when i had questions. The shampoo room is like an underwater mystery cave! There's some great geode accent pieces and some really far out custom clothes & doodads. ..Also, there is a hangout room that has retro video games blazing at all times!! This spot is awesome and the stylists are pro.

This salon/shop/art installation is amazing! Beautiful, vibrant space with science fiction clothes, costumes, art, and artifacts. And then Dara can make you look amazing, too. She is a wizard at color and highlighting. Places often tout "an experience"; She Comes in Peace provides you with an incredible experience.

Friendly, talented staff! Best vivid colors in NOLA and they keep up with the latest trends while also slaying the alternative/edgy looks! They also have the hands- down BEST nail tech, Antonia, who is (seriously) amazingly talented with her nail art and does it all by hand! Would definitely recommend to anyone who gets nervous about getting their hair cut, or anyone looking to make a unique, creative splash!!

I highly recommend this salon. I didn't need much length or anything taken off, but something about what I had wasn't "me" and I needed a change. I'm terrible in describing hair, but Brittain helped me figure out what about it wasn't working, and then helped me articulate what I needed from my new style. She made suggestions and helped me understand what those changes would do to the style. The end result was exactly what I was wanting. The whole atmosphere was inviting, laid back, and fun. Will definitely be going back.

This salon/beauty/costume emporium in the Bywater is super cute and the amazing staff will be your best friends before you leave. It’s a such a welcoming place and it’s hard not to fall in love with the Alien theme. Dara is endlessly talented and loves what she does so when you’re in her chair you know you’re going to reach your hair goals. She’s got a lot of experience and knowledge about hair color, if you’re new to creative color I cannot recommend Dara enough!

I've been going to Dara for years, so I followed when I found out she opened her own salon. The space has a pastel sci-fi vibe, and feels really fun to be in. It's honestly worth the drive if you wanna turn your hair to the mermaid goddess or bubblegum princess of your dreams.

We went twice during our stay in Vegas, and the quality was inconsistent. We enjoyed some dishes very much, but we found some things disappointing. The service was great. I recommend going, try the ceviche.
