There were two separate instances where I had second thoughts in choosing material/colors and Katie could not have been more understanding and helpful. Katie's expertise makes the entire process convenient and efficient, but she was also extremely patient with the handful of decisions that I needed a little extra time with. Finding Nicholas Joseph was the best thing to happen to my husband and me. Prior to finding Nicholas Joseph, we went to a couple places in Milwaukee and even met a different designer in-person. None of them had the excitement or want to assist with the designing of our outfits. We eventually met Amalia, our sales designer, with Nicholas Joseph. Immediately, we were sold. She helped us with everything from building our outfits, accessorizing and coordinating virtual fittings for our grooms people who lived out-of-state. The amount of comments we got on our outfits during the wedding and from the photographer was everything. We were also asked last week to be in an issue of Wisconsin Bridal magazine in our custom made outfits. Our photo shoot is in January! Thank you for everything! Never lose Amalia. I will be revamping my professional attire and see you all again!

Every step of the custom suit process felt curated specifically for us, and was SO much fun. The suits themselves turned out even better than we could have imagined. You really don't know the feeling of wearing a suit made specifically for you, until you do.. No detail was overlooked (think monogrammed shirt cuffs, custom jacket liners, and accent stitching we'd never even think of), and we only have Katie to thank for that! We are getting married next month and are so excited to show off our custom suits to our family and friends. I will definitely be back soon to buy another suit for more casual occasions. Amalia was awesome! She walked me walked me through the entire process with perfect expectations. She was super knowledgeable on all the fabrics, especially the Italian fabrics. I started with a tux and it was an absolute perfect fit. Next I did 2 suites and some sport coats. Again amazing, one needed a small adjustment, the adjustment was made in a few days and Fed-x to my home. I recently added 5 custom shirts that are amazingly comfortable and obviously fit perfectly. If you don’t like the way you look in suits. Get a custom suit. I was against it at first because of price, but honestly it is worth it. When you get over the hurdle of agreeing to going custom. Finding that place that can execute your look goal is also a task within itself. I’ve looked into quite a few places, either I did not like their selections or I did not like the stylist. Nicholas Joseph Custom Suit is a must-stop shop to check out. I had the pleasure to work with Amalia Mladin. Amalia has superb attention to detail & nailed the look I was going for with the help of her suggestions. I honestly do not believe I would’ve been able to achieve my custom suit look without her inputs. Almost everything was custom down to the button. The suit fit was fantastic. It is the first/only suit I genuinely loved the way I looked from top to bottom. Can’t say enough how grateful I am to be assigned to Amalia. She knows her stuff & knows the materials well too. I received countless compliments on how phenomenal my suit looked. Must I say more, come here for your customs suits. They also have custom business casual looks if your interested as well. I did not work with other stylists and this may come off bias, if you do come here ask for Amalia. I’m sure the other stylist would have done a great job too. However Amalia is the real deal. My custom shirts arrived in a reasonable time frame without need for adjustments and ready for wear, but I appreciated the hands on attention provided in the followup fitting. I have already advised that others head their way for something bespoke; there are few things as comparably satisfying as going through the day confident that nothing can fit you better than the garments Martin designed just for you. Knowing that they'll make adjustments in the future for growth or slimming gives me a sense of security as well!

I walked past their store every weekend on my way to Binnys and saw these beautiful suit jackets in their window and when it came time to get a suit for my wedding I stopped in and they took excellent care of me. I worked closely with two designers there, Amalia and Katie, they were both incredible when it came to steering me in the right direction for important decisions when it came to my custom suit. First Nicholas Joseph experience! I ordered a suit + shirts and pants. My expectations were exceeded. The suit was what I'd simply call a perfect fit! It was well-trimmed, neat and lovely (well, I love myself in it ^_^). The same goes for the shirts and pants. The experience as a whole was worth every penny and every second of my time. And Amalia was simply awesome! Thanks again. First, they have an overwhelming selection of fabrics. I'd usually give up in those circumstances (far too many of anything to choose from exhausts me; I'm kind of lazy); but Amalia's impressive knowledge of Italian fabrics made the experience practical and mentally manageable. She briefly educated me (along the way) about color equivalency, "strechability", "breathability", shirt/suit compatibility, etc. So, it became easy to create categories that I can navigate in and narrow things down ... confidently. Then, there were those few moments where she made some suggestions that I'd be ambivalent about; and then the (post-execution) outcomes all led to "Yas! I'm super glad she did". She has the eyes for those barely-noticeable improvements that hit right; and overall, she gave great suggestions/advice/recommendations. Basically, she truly knows men fashion!

I would overall wholeheartedly recommend Nicholas Joseph. I was helped my Marisa and was pleased when I found their wide variety colors and fabrics. I will warn though, if you have a tighter budget some more niche colors will have a quiet limited choices. Marisa was amiable and was constantly trying to find new fabrics that would match what I was looking for. I got a 3 piece suit and the amount of customization possible was also nice. They are also accommodating to other custom requests, like how I requested the addition of a pocket watch button on my vest. I very much plan to use Nicholas Joseph once again in the future. Once you get fitted (suits, pants, jackets, shirts), you only have to pick out colors/fabrics from that point on when you order new clothes (very streamline and efficient). And Jodi is really great. She is very nice and attentive. For one order, I asked her to make my shirts a little loose. By the time the shirts were delivered, I had changed my mind and wanted them a little more slim fit. She had the shirts altered, free of charge -- on an order for 20 shirts! Let's just say, Jodi is obviously very patient. I appreciate all of her help over the years, and will continue to let her stock my wardrobe.

Great experience for a first timer going the custom-route For my wedding, I wanted to "class it up" a bit and decided I was going to go the custom route. I made appointments with a few places but ultimately decided to go with Nicholas Joseph. This was my first experience with custom and Katie was very helpful with the entire process. She walked me through all of the steps, lent her expertise on various details and also made recommendations based on my selections. At the end of the day, I ended up with something that was unique to me and looked great! Pricing was very manageable at Nicholas Jospeh. When going custom, you can end up paying a ridiculous amount of money for the highest quality. Katie helped me navigate to a finished product that looked great and was within my budget. They also threw in a shirt to go with the suit! The suit was supposed to take 4-6 weeks to arrive and it only took 3 weeks to get here. After the first fitting, Katie took notes and had alterations done - completed in 1 week. I will definitely go back to Nicholas Joseph for any other custom clothing needs and recommend Katie to anyone who is looking to go custom for the first time. Thanks!

NJ has the fabrics and the know-how to produce wonderful garments and they did. Every piece was spot on. The person responsible for achieving the proper fit and finish however, was Katie. Katie helped me with the fabric selection and the style each piece would have. With all of this, Katie also managed the time frame in which I needed these garments done and nailed it. I think Nicholas Joseph makes the best custom suits and shirt in Chicago, and I've been buying custom clothing for over 20 years in London and New York before I moved to Chicago for work in the finance industry. My admin made me a list of 10 companies in Chicago, and I called them all. Most sounded like I was bothering them - only Nicholas Joseph was friendly, knowledgeable, but I made an appointment with two other companies as well so I could test a custom suit and custom shirt from each. The other two companies, names undisclosed but also named after their owners and in the Loop, were pushy and spent most of the time trying to increase the sale price, and the least amount of time asking me questions and listening to my answers. I am a fit guy and wanted a well tailored suit, but not skin tight like some of the associates at my firm - these other companies tried to convince me the opposite. I also examined their samples and they felt cheap and they couldn't tell me if they were Italian wool or not? The other companies didn't have a tailor there which also made me uncomfortable so I didn't purchase from either, nor would I recommend them. When I arrived at Nicholas Joseph, I was greeted warmly in a nice open showroom with a ton of samples and dozens of fabric books, mostly from Italy and Europe, even Zegna which caught my eye. Katie, my Designer, asked me what occasion the suit and shirt were for and who I would be in front of. She then helped me selected the perfect shade of navy blue and we chatted about the details - two buttons, side slits in back, brown bone buttons, and more narrow, modern, but not too trendy pant legs. She even told me that she and the team just returned from touring the fabric mills in Italy and got certified! About 4 weeks later she called and emailed a link where I could schedule a time to try on the suit and shirt at my convenience, and it was super easy. When I tried on the suit it felt lightweight and fit amazingly well in the shoulders, and through my chest and more narrow down the arms. We did have to adjust it a little to make it more tailored around the waist and adjusted the pant length, both of which were ready in a week. The custom shirt was perfect and one of the best I've ever had. Overall, they've got a new loyal customer because of their service, great attitude, knowledge, Italian fabrics, tailor at the showroom, and professional communication. Thank you Katie!

I recently went to Nicholas Joseph Custom Tailors to get a custom suit for my Hindu / Jewish Fusion wedding. Since we were doing a bit more of a modern wedding, I wanted to wear something that clearly was Indian wedding attire, but not too traditional. I went into Nicholas Joseph with a picture of a Jodhpuri suit and from there Amalia helped me pick out fabrics and color schemes. Overall, I was VERY impressed with what Amalia and the team at Nicholas Joseph put together. Not only was was the quality of the suit apparent through the little details, it looked MUCH better than anything I would have found on Devon Street. I will certainly be going back to Nicholas Joseph for my suit and dress wear needs moving forward.
