Cathy and Carolyn worked with me from the moment I stepped into their boutique, and absolutely exceeded my expectations for my wedding dress. They helped me achieve a bridal vision I never could have imagined! My mother and I enjoyed every visit we had with them as they created my wedding dress. They are so caring, thoughtful, and talented - I cannot recommend them enough!!

They are good at listening and they have this uncanny way of helping you figure out what it is you really want in a dress. My daughter and I had a wonderful experience with The White Room—from the moment of our first appointment to the morning we carried the perfect gown home, carefully packed to ensure it would look just as perfect on the magic day. Carolyn, Cathy, and their staff are absolute professionals, yet their warmth conveys that they genuinely love the opportunity to share this moment with brides. My daughter, a New Yorker, had already visited several salons in Manhattan and DC before coming home to Birmingham. Among the many small details that made our experience at The White Room unique, I would highlight three. In contrast to dimly lit sitting areas where moms and bridesmaids crowd to await the gown presentations, the bright airy salon with its beautiful appointments made each “reveal” moment even more exciting. Second, we were convinced that their carefully curated selection featured only quality designers whether we chose a couture gown or something simple, elegant, and budget-friendly. The selection experience was wonderful, but equal to or perhaps more important, The White Room offers brides Carolyn’s craftsmanship in alterations. I believe her years of experience and attention to detail give every bride a fit that makes her gown look couture. We did not have this confidence anywhere else. In the end, the dress is only as beautiful as it looks on the bride. On behalf of my daughter and myself, I would like to thank Carolyn and Cathy for a wonderful gown and a wonderful memory!

What an incredible experience we have had with The White Room, not once, but twice! My mom bought her mother of the bride dress at The White Room for my sisters wedding, and we loved the professionalism and treatment we received from Cathy and Carolyn. Carolyn and Cathy are INCREDIBLE. They truly make the whole wedding dress & MOB dress shopping experience magical. They are as sweet as can be and honest with you on what looks good and what doesn’t on your body type. They have a wide variety of prices and sizes. Cathy has an eye for beautiful gowns and encourages you to try things you wouldn’t normally try that end up being stunning!! Carolyn can tweak any dress to make it just perfect. I cannot rave about this mother-daughter duo enough. I bought both my deb ball dress and wedding dress here (plus my mother’s dress for both occasions). I will encourage all my friends and family to do the same!!

Cathy and Carolyn made shopping for a wedding gown a wonderful experience! The shop is beautiful with many choices in a wide price range. My daughter ended up trying on over 40 dresses at 6 different bridal stores because we just couldn’t find “the one”. We came across a dress at The White Room in a gorgeous fabric, but was strapless, and not what my daughter thought she wanted. My daughter explored the possibility of reworking the dress to better suit her with the designer. We had such confidence in Cathy’s experience and knowledge that we trusted her to place the dress order as three different dresses were put together to make one. We also did custom measurements which I think was well worth the price. The dress arrived, we went for our first and only round of alterations, mainly for hemming and bustle and it was exactly what my daughter envisioned! She was stunning in it! This could have gone oh so wrong, but Cathy checked and double checked with Anne Barge that it would all work and it did. Highly recommend this bridal shop!

To say that I had a tumultuous wedding planning season would be an understatement. A global pandemic can really throw a wrench in your plans. When I made my appointment at The White Room I had only been to one other place to try on dresses. I thought I had found “the one” at that first place because it was pretty and seemed like something I liked. But it just didn’t feel right. I called around but the responses I got because my fiancé and I had decided on a short engagement, and the fact that there was a pandemic going on, were very discouraging. I made an appointment at The White Room and was hoping that I would be able to have a moment like the one brides always talk about when I found my own dress. The show room is lovely and so chic. Carolyn and Cathy KNOW THEIR STUFF. They made the experience wonderful for me because of their knowledge and experience, plus they are both so sweet! I finally had that gut feeling of “this is the one” when I floated down the hallway to the showroom. We had found the dress of my dreams. They both spent time making sure I was absolutely happy and ready for my day. I really appreciated Carolyn also taking the time to teach my mother how to place my veil and bustle my dress, and teaching my father how to lift my veil. The whole experience was very personal and fun, something I needed during this crazy time. The White Room should definitely be at the top of your list!

Carolyn and Cathy both made me feel so special, and were so helpful with guiding my mom, sister, and me through the process. Since my mom lives in Louisiana, I attended the majority of my appointments alone so I really relied on them as they gave me their honest opinion and professional advice. They were patient with me as I had to reschedule my dress fitting appointments multiple times due to my demanding work schedule. When I wanted to make a major addition to my dress with only 4 months to go until the wedding, they bent over backwards to make it happen. Ms Carolyn is a master seamstress and holds herself to such high standards as she tailors every dress to perfection. I felt like the most beautiful bride on my wedding day! I had the best experience at The White Room! There was a great selection of dresses from different vendors and various styles. Cathy gave me undivided attention during my appointment. I wanted to combine 3 styles from 3 different dresses, and Cathy was very helpful taking custom measurements, advising if the dress would look right, and calling the designer to make sure everything went smoothly. The dress turned out perfect! Carolyn did the alterations in house which also made the process even easier. I have heard nightmares of bride's alteration fiascos... that won't happen at TWR! Such an easy process. I loved my dress!

I was not really looking forward to wedding dress shopping. It takes forever for me to shop and find every day clothes I like and I was scared nowhere would have anything that would fit me enough for me to have an enjoyable experience. However, thanks to Cathy at The White Room, I didn't just have a very enjoyable experience with dresses that fit me and looked good on me but I also found THE dress and they were my first dress shop to go to! I had a great experience at The White Room in Mountain Brook. I am a Tuscaloosa native living elsewhere now, but was able to shop with my mom when I was at home. I looked at dresses at a number of East Coast boutiques close to where I live and to family, but found my dress here! I found a dress by the Canadian designer Lee Ann Belter that I had seen online but no where in person that ended up feeling like the right choice. I especially enjoyed the one-on-one experience in the salon. It was special and comfortable. My mom was able to look at MOB dresses, too. This salon also helped me with questions after the shopping process related to shipping and details on the dress when it came in. I was nervous that the typical price point of the boutique was above my budget, but their range was greater than I expected. Would recommend!

When I called and asked if I could come in “right now!” at 3 PM on a Friday, they were so welcoming and willing to help me. Because of my short timeline, they allowed me to purchase a sample gown right then and there. It was truly like it was meant to be! If you want someone who genuinely wants you to have your dream dress and not just sell you something, this is where you need to be. I am planning to elope and am working on a short time frame. Other shops I visited made it seem like I was an inconvenience and not worth their time but the White Room made sure I knew I was just as important as any other bride. Amazing selection and incredible bespoke service with attention to every detail. I found The White Room Bridal Salon while researching online for my niece. Due to a last minute venue availability my niece decided to plan a wedding with about seven months notice, but a couture gown was very important to her, and to me. I live out of state but The White Room ladies worked with me by phone to curate their selections for my niece and to fit her in quickly for an appointment. She literally loved every gown she tried on, but quickly moved to the grand finale and the gown of her dreams. I could not have been happier with her selection until attending her first fitting this past weekend - and left even more delighted and impressed. Seeing her couture gown and the way the ladies worked to plan alterations and knew exactly the nips and tucks needed was fascinating. I love that this luxury salon is a local, women owned business (Mother and daughter) and wouldn't dream of recommending anywhere else. The selection of designer gowns they carry is really incredible and the salon itself is pure luxury. Five stars all the way.

They truly took my taste and budget to heart and did not pressure me to buy that day or rush me through dresses! My daughter wanted a very specific sort of retro dress for her informal wedding. Unfortunately, that type of dress is not currently in style. We called numerous bridal salons, all of which said they don't have anything similar and left it at that. When I called The White Room, Cathy thought about the dress and recalled a "mother-of-the-bride" dress from several years ago that could possibly be made in white. She tracked down the dress, called the designer and asked if it was still available, and upon being told it was not, she cajoled the designer into making a custom dress for my daughter! The dress was not terribly expensive, so I believe Cathy's motivation was simply making my daughter's dream come true! My daughter also wanted a custom headpiece, with which she is delighted. Yesterday was her final fitting. My daughter's face lit up when she saw the whole thing put together. We can't thank you enough, White Room!

I was blown away with the difference in service I got there compared to the 3 places I had gone in Atlanta. It was head and shoulders above the rest. It's hard to pinpoint what I loved most about my experience at The White Room. The location, the staff, and the dresses were incredible. The salon itself has such an intimate feeling, and the staff makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Sarah Katherine was my consultant, and she went above and beyond finding the PERFECT dress for me. Not only did she do great, but then the owner would stop in and help as well. Every time I came in there I felt as though myself, and the people with me were treated like royalty. I had 3 appointments there. I cannot say enough positive things about the quality of service I received at The White Room. After visiting several other places, I didn't think I would find my dream gown. After a few minutes of being at The White Room, I knew we were going to get service far above what we had gotten elsewhere. The Seamsterss who I had contacted to custom make my MOB dress decided she could not make the dress 6 weeks before my daughters wedding. A friend recommended The White Room to me. Wow!! I had such a positive experience shopping for my wedding dress at the White Room. From the moment I walked in until the time I purchased final alteration on the final fitting. The atmosphere was very friendly and accommodating. They genuinely cared about me as a person not just a customer. They exceeded my expectations by remembering my name and my moms name. They remembered that I was a teacher and that I was on a slight budget. I had a custom veil that was made more perfect with my moms lace added to it. Needless to say, they went above and beyond to make sure my dress was perfect. To conclude, The White Room is a spectacular choice. I had the most wonderful experience at this Bridal Salon. Cathy is fantastic. She knows exactly how to allow you to picture yourself as the bride on your big day. I was lucky enough to get an appointment at the White Room the weekend of a Sareh Nouri trunk show. I feel in love with two dresses, but I was not able to make a decision that day. Cathy was so wonderful to hold onto a sample dress until I could come back to try it on again later the next week (the should have been shipped off with the trunk show that weekend). Cathy and her staff are professional and warm. I never felt pressured to pick a dress nor did I ever feel intimidated walking into such a beautiful salon. I would highly recommend the White Room to any and every bride. May I also mention Cathy has a talent for relaxing the anxious mother of the bride. She had both me and my mother at ease throughout our entire experience. Saying yes to my fiancé was the best decision of my life, however, a close second was saying yes to the dress at the White Room Bridal Salon.

I had an amazing experience here. I had gone to two previous stores before I came here and those two were awful because every time I didn't like a dress it was made known that this frustrated them even though I was polite about it. So I was a bit nervous about going through the process again, but I needed a dress. Cathy was amazing!! Her first words were "this is your dress, your day, it will not hurt my feelings in the slightest if you say you do not like the dress. Just say no and we will put it away." She never pressured me to like a dress, listened to my wishes, and found me my perfect dress! It was literally the first dress I tried on that she grabbed for me based off of my specifications. However, I did try on others after that but I already knew that the first dress I put on was the dress. After that they took measurements and ordered my dress! They alter the dress right there in shop and that is an amazing experience as well. They are so kind and made the experience a breeze instead of stressful. I appreciate them so much and they truly were a highlight of my wedding planning experience! So all I have to say is thank you so much and if you are still looking for a dress you will not regret going here!

When I was searching for the perfect wedding dress, I went to numerous different bridal shops in the area. However, when I walked into the White Room, I knew immediately that this would be the place that I would find "the one." The staff helps you one-on-one and truly makes you feel so comfortable...like you are the most important person there! When you shop at the White Room, you don't just leave with a wedding dress. You leave a group of cheerleaders. My original experience with the white room was 3 years ago...I planned a wedding that didn't happen due to unforeseen circumstances. I was heartbroken but had this beautiful dress waiting for me to come pick it up. Obviously at a time like that, I couldn't bring my dream dress home to sit in my closet unworn. The sweet, compassionate staff told me not to worry about getting my dress. Where do I start with this dynamic duo!?!? Simply stated, I live in Atlanta and I've made the drive to Birmingham to experience these ladies twice and can't wait to see them again when I pick my dress up! I had searched everywhere for my dream dress and Ms. Cathy made that dream come true. First let me say the salon is flawlessly designed and it makes you feel at ease and right at home for what can be a downright nerve wrecking process. Ms. Cathy was SO helpful. She even contacted me a few months before my 2nd appointment to visit the shop again to notify me that she would no longer be carrying the designer/dress I was interested in, but would be willing to sell me the sample dress and hold it to the side for me, as it was in pristine condition. UNHEARD OF! They have THEE best customer service of any bridal salon that I've experienced hands down and the fact that she even remembered my love of this dress and reached out to me was enough to make my heart smile. Upon our second visit, Ms. Carolyn created a birdcage for ME and ME ONLY, which I absolutely fell in love with and truly was a reflection of the person that I am. My mom and bonus kid (fiance's daughter) joined me and I loved how honest everyone was in their opinion of the dress and bolero options without being offensive and still allowing me to think for myself as a bride. They never once pressed me into a sell. Also, Ms. Cathy did something that literally I haven't stopped talking about to anyone that I've talked to about our experience with them this weekend. My bonus kiddo was so smitten in seeing me in my dress and wanting to help choose accessories that Ms. Cathy told her she had something special for her.....she brought out a tiara that she let my little one have without paying for it. Tears form in my eyes now as I think about it because she didn't have to do that at all and the look on my little one's face when she received that gift was more than anything one could hope for. Ms. Cathy and Ms. Carolyn were even kind enough to pin her tiara on her head and she literally wore it ALL day! Lol. I can't thank Ms. Cathy enough for all she has done. She has truly made my experience, while preparing to become a bride the best I could've hoped for. I am forever grateful to this duo. They are one of a kind and worth the drive any day, in my eyes!
