The sermon was excellent. The guy actually had the courage to talk about submission to a room full of millennials (it was the 5:00 service when all the millenials go). Ultimately, he threw away what society has turned the word into and brought us back to what the word is supposed to mean. He .ade it clear that it does NOT mean to hang out in an abusive relationship or marriage. Basically, what I gathered from his lesson is that the submission God talks about is not much more than honoring God, loving God unconditionally and loving each other unconditionally. He did an incredible job I thought the room felt slightly pretentious (that might just be because it is the young 12th south crowd at that time slot - I mean I'm a millennial, too, so I kind of get it). It was definitely not an ultra friendly crowd, but that sermon was excellent and the folks leading the acoustic worship did a BEAUTIFUL job! I would go back. I think this 5:00 service and the people who attend have great potential, and I believe that pastor does truly love God.
