Mark TinseyI'm a (fairly) long-time parishioner, I've lived a lot of places (in the U.S. and abroad), and I think Christ the Kind is a very special, and at times in my life, very powerful place of worship and fellowship. Like the human beings that come together there, no church is perfect, but it pains me when someone thinks the priest is pretentious (absolutely an incorrect assumption based on a single data point: the current parish priest is a thoughtful, funny, violin-playing, marathon-running man of God who inspires those around him on a daily basis); or the parishioners are unwelcoming (I have friends to this day I met my first week at Christ the King 12 years ago). However, perception is reality for those who feel as they do, so all I can say is come by and see/hear/experience for yourself. Say hello to someone - they will respond in kind (is it fair to hang back and expect people to approach you? Perhaps try a little of both? The love you take is equal to the love you make, as it were...). People aren't perfect, but I think you'll leave a CTK service feeling better and perhaps a bit closer to God. But please, don't park in front of a neighbors driveway - I'm not sure even a priest can absolve that sin! :-)

Sarah MieleThe community at this church is extremely welcoming. They always have events and activities going on for all ages. They have a great young adult group as well called Credo. The music is fantastic and the Pastor is great.
Clinch BlackThe parish is very beautiful and so is the liturgy! One thing I love about going to mass in Nashville is that the music is always amazing! But the priest was very pretentious. You'd think he was trying to get a promotion to Monsignor. His homilies don't reach children or teens at all. And, in a weird way, he's constantly looking upward at I don't know what. It's just looks like he's pretending to be inspired. It's acting. Don't bother shaking his hand after mass either. You'll get a dead fish, as if you owe him something. But the parishioners are very lively after mass! Very friendly!

A BI feel honored to be part of this parish. Our priest, Father Dexter, is both extremely cultured as he is modest. His approachable, down to earth and practical homilies are very insightful and motivating. The CTK's community is very active in providing services to the needy in the Nashville area. CTK participates in various programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Room in the Inn (created by a Catholic priest), RCIA (for those desiring to become Catholics), blood donation drives and more. A school and a community center are also part of the campus.
