Reviews of Bethlehem Baptist Church
My new favorite church. Great service and the people are more then what I imagine. This is such a blessing and I owe it all to the Lord to meet these kind of people and to be part of such a good community that they also want others to do good as well.
Overall this church is excellent. My biggest complaint is the location. When there is a sporting event or concert, it's super hard to find parking. The other, more serious issue is that it's easy to be anonymous at this church. The onus is on the individual to get plugged into a small group / community group and no one really greets people so it's hard to get to know people.
The preaching is solid though so I still give Bethlehem 4 out of 5 stars.
They love God and love His people.
I love the fellowship, gospel centered teaching and worship here at Bethlehem!
I have been a regular attender for the past eight years. I am 66 years old and have stepped into many churches over the years comparatively this church ranks at the top. There is much caring and affection felt here. The love and understanding I receive here is built upon sound biblical teaching gently taught by the elders.
I am so glad the Lord led here and here I plan to stay.
Excellent church with a high value for the word of God. Peaching is always central to Jesus and the gospel. You can be sure to hear truth and the good news of what God has done through Christ every sermon. I also appreciate the call to repentance, belief, and worship. I am continually convicted and encouraged, and feel the Holy Spirit at work here.
The Spirit in this church is strong. The congregation is helpful and very accepting of others. The Spirit of God lives in this church. I have always felt comfortable when I enter here. I am a sinner yet no one looks down on me. Praise God Almighty!!!
Although the size of this church large, the pastors, elders and other staff do a great job trying to keep people involved and active. They also sheperd the members well. I also admire and appreciate Pastor Jason. I learn so much from his sermons.
I've been attending BBC since April 2016. There are 4 things I personally look for in committing to home church.
1. Bible based Gospel centered teaching
2. Gospel centered worship
3. Opportunities to serve within and out.
4. Fellowship with those in same/different life stages.
#4 is a work in progress at BBC. Given that this church is fairly large, connecting to people and plugging into a small group has been a process that took longer than I hope. It will take a lot of initiation on the "seeker's" part. Attending their "Meet Bethlehem" or BBC Meetups are great ways to connect with people and get yourself known and transferred to the right people. Their website map is not a full account of all the small groups that exist. We were thankful to have met a member from a TBI course who is in a small group that is looking for new members. Due diligence is required along with patience and grace. It is a work in progress.:)
The Worship and Fellowship at Bethlehem Baptist Church is of the Lord. The Pastor's are not getting their sermons from the internet like some do. These men of God have been in the Throne Room. These believers Worship God in Spirit and Truth.
Come early to find parking because the Church Building will be packed for service.
I want to address Train Stop's concerns that this church does not allow certain people or groups to attend their Bible studies and that they were denied access by elders. This is completely false and is NOT the policy of this church. Globally and within the Twin Cities, Bethlehem is one of the most diversified and inclusive churches I have ever been in. My family and I have attended North Campus for almost 4 years and have been encouraged on every front to become involved in ministry, small groups, service projects, teaching, mentoring, and just plain old fun/food during Wednesday night connections. There is not one thing the church offers that we are denied access and I don't know of one single person who would EVER ask elders permission for someone to attend church.
Great music, great sermon, great theology, great applications all to be experienced in the details of church service and interactions with people. Good bookstore as well. There are always discounts and it really encourages you to learn more about the truth.
One of the best churches you could be a part of. Solid preaching, solid doctrine, gracious members, and all in an excellent city. Minneapolis.
I’ve loved worshipping with this body. Very biblical, loving, and gospel-centered.
John Piper (resigned as head pastor Fall of 2012) was a phenomenal preacher. Jason Meyer is just starting out as a mega church pastor and has big shoes to fill, but he's good in his own right.
If you are serious about knowing God and be challenged to grow and showered by grace and surrounded by truth, this is the place. Excellent church.
My favorite church, bible based, unflinching. Jason Meyer is a good replacement for John Piper. I still can get notes and notes of truth every sunday!
Gospel centered church with strong ministries and life changing preaching. You shall grow close to your Lord Jesus here.
Pretty good church for a ChristEr (person who only attends on Christmas and Easter). These people want you to feel welcome, not judged
This group of Christian’s love Jesus and love his Gospel. Solid and encouraging biblical teaching!
I am a devout ATHEIST. I only visited the church as it is my voting place. I HATE the Baptist teachings!
Expository preaching. intentional services. Get into a small group avoid the drawbacks of going to a big church.
Looking forward to coming in two weeks
An imperfect church, made up of imperfect people, serving and worshipping a perfect God, through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
They preach God's Word correctly....And they truly follow Him
Piper reminds me of C.S. Lewis and he is right here in the Twin Cities. It is a blessing to have him here.
Great Danish and Coffee and fellowship before and after services!
Solid Bible teaching and a great community of people!
It was a tremendous time and place to worship God and find fulfilment.
I like the music here. Lots of people who actually sing. It fills the room!
Large church but very friendly people
Great bible teaching. Solid
These people love Jesus and it shows!
great place of fellowship and community.
A congregation who are deeply committed to the Lord.
Went for Easter service and enjoyed it.
Good food for the soul and spirit.
Finally found our home church!
