Reviews of Desert Spring United Methodist Church
You can tell they put their all into their community like a family I’m very impressed with everything I’ve seen from church on sundays to festivals for holidays and performances by the kids this is an exceptional church I’m Floyd we found it.
I'm here every Sunday. Wonderful pastor. Great choir and special singing guests! Everyone is so friendly.
Great place for adults and children. My son and I love going there. Rev. David Devereaux is one of the best I've heard.
Desert Spring is home. It's the most welcoming church you're likely to meet. All are welcome (and all means all). In any given Sunday, you can feel God's grace at work.
Below is my comment about DSUMC from 6 years ago. Of course today, some of the relevance has changed due to Covid, but the way this church has responded to the pandemic is very note worthy and commendable. They have reached out to people in need with food, clothes, funds and the support that Our Father in heaven would want for the church to do to help and serve others. There is online church services, youth programs and bible studies and various groups have been able to keep in touch online. In the Fall, weather and social health permitting there were very safe outside services on the lawn in front of the church. Hopefully, we can get back to that as the weather warms up and it has been deemed safe by the health officials. However, we pray for the church to resume safe inside services as the health of our world returns! I recommend this church with all my heart! The pastors are warm, caring and welcoming to EVERYONE and studious in the history of our Christian faith and are compelling in the deliverance of each sermon, with a touch of lightheartedness that we all need these days:)
From 6 yrs ago:
This church is so open and loving. I go to the 11:00 service that has great modern music. There are more traditional services at 8am and 9:30am too. There is so much for the youth to do... summer over night camps, Bible day camp, Wed and Sunday youth group, youth mission service and no pressure either! The pastors are fantastic and I really get so much out of going to listen to words of love, hope and so much more. God's love really shines here! The humor is contagious and I can relate to the human experiences and stories told in a way that makes learning from the bible an adventure! This church is just the right size for me too... not to big and not too small.
Really nice people and the pastor gives good sermons that are relatable.
They have two big screens so even if you get seating where you can't see the pulpit the screens will fix that right up. They also stream online the service(s) so if you want to watch from home that is an option.
The causes the church backs are also reliable (and legit) which is nice.
They also are very concious about dietary needs and offer gluten free bread at communion and the snacks between services also have dietary restriction options (not as many as the normal group but that's to be expected). Very helpful and considerate.
The music during services is nice but not so nice it makes you guilty to sing along (I once attended a church with a world class choir and pianist and felt guilty to add my voice because it sounded so bad in comparison).
Parking is not super easy to get to (you have to take a U-turn if coming from a certain direction) but we haven't struggled for a spot when we've arrived.
They don't have any ramps or steps so handicapped people don't have to take a separate path just to get through the front door.
Conclusion: A good church with good services that is considerate of their members needs; from dietary to mobile, they seem to take care of problems before they become a problem.
Note: I have only attended service and have no input on any other aspect of the church.
I am new here and this is a great Church Home. I have been warmly welcomed and recently joined the choir. I've also been invited to one of the "dining for eight" dinner groups. My Son and Grandson even came to hear me sing in choir and celebrate Communion. Looking forward to more blessings.
Great congregation, caring and loving pastor Dave, worship rocks!
Sharing our lives with God's gospels! 😇 …
I've attended Desert Spring United Methodist Church for several years and it's been a pleasure to see it grow and flourish. Especially during these times of economic uncertainty. There seems to be no end to the ministries that incubate here because everyone is involved as much as they can in "helping every person find and fulfill God's purpose for living". Each day is filled with excitement about the New Sanctuary that is scheduled to be completed by Dec 2012 and promises to provide a more powerful, joyful and reverent space for worship and support the growing ministries.
The best for Michigan snow birds, still here because of COVID-19. Worship on line is terrific! Thanks Pastors David and Tim!
This was my home church before I moved to Reno. It’s a joy to be able to “attend” Bible study and services with zoom.
I havent been to dsumc since 2017 but it is a great awesome church! Friendly and nice community with a gorgeous choir.

Good church, I thought it was okay, but I didn't completely agree with everything they were teaching.
