With medical massage therapy and the chiropractic treatment, difference in my neck pain is life changing. The office staff is on point! Everything runs smoothly from appointments to billing. From the moment I called to set up a consult for my son, I knew I had chosen the right chiropractor. First impressions are everything and the woman that assisted me with setting up a consult was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and professional. When we arrived for his appointment everyone was extremely welcoming, it was so nice to see customer service still exists. My 15 year old son had sustained a concussion about 8 weeks prior to his consult with Alpine Health Center. He had been dealing with daily dizziness, headaches, and neck/upper back pain. Nothing seemed to relieve his symptoms. After his first visit with Dr. Whalen he reported complete resolution of his symptoms. We tried so many interventions, without improvement, prior to seeking a consult here, my only complaint is that I didn’t call them sooner. I couldn’t be more impressed with Dr. Whalen and the entire staff at Alpine Health Center! I highly recommend!

I have never had to see a chiropractor and had no idea where to go or even who to go to. Several of my employees go see Dr Whalen at Alpine Health Center. I was in pain with a pulled muscle in my back and arthritis in my thumb/wrist. I found Dr Whalen’s card on the Refrigerator in the break room at work on a Friday afternoon and left a msg. Within 10-15 minutes Dr Whalen phoned me and asked what he could do for me. Even though his office was closed, he gave me his personal cell phone number and told me to call him if my situation gets any worse as he would meet me and take care of it. He told me what to do to alleviate the pain, and I settled in for the weekend with a heating pad. Monday morning I phoned and spoke with Carol, one of the friendliest people I have ever met- who even checked on me the day after my first appointment. She got me in to see Dr Whalen that afternoon! This has been by far the most professional group of people that I have ever met! My back is much better and we are doing laser treatments on my wrist (I cancelled an appt with a Orthopedic Dr to let Dr Whalen “do his magic”). I have only been to 3 appointments so far, but I am more than pleased with Dr Whalen as well as each and every one of his employees- special shout out to Phillip! After trying both orthopedics and my primary care physician who all recommended pharmaceutical intervention for sciatica pain, decided to try a chiropractor for the first time. Dr Whalen and his practice were highly recommended by several friends. If anyone is looking for a great chiropractor in VB Alpine Chiropractic is amazing. Did my first visit there yesterday, Miss Carole at the front desk is so sweet and helpful and the Dr. Whalen is So knowledgeable. I have been to a had full of other chiropractors since moving to VB and none of them have been exactly what I was looking for, until now. The Dr. took his time to listen to me, did his exam and adjusted me all while teaching me so much. He didn’t cause me pain during my adjustment like so many others and I am not sore today (next day) like usual. He also has very fair prices. So thankful to Dr. Whalen & his staff.

And these days you don't stay with a service provider that long unless they are effective and doing something right. Dr. Whalen uses traditional and innovative approaches to help patients heal and feel better. I especially have benefited not only from his adjustments, but also from his active release and laser treatments. And he listens to you--asking questions to better understand where your body needs attention. My overall health is maintained and so much better because I get regular adjustments and treatments here. Dr. Whalen also treated my parents, who were in their 80s. He knows how to treat elderly people in a gentle, but effective, way so that they feel so much better afterwards. I tried two other chiropractic practices in town before I found this one. I'm staying here because this is a good thing.

I live in Atlanta, GA. I was in a lot pain so a friend suggested Alpine Health Center. I called for a new patient appointment. They were booked. I explained my situation and they squeezed me in. The staff was very welcoming the services were amazing (massage and adjustments)! I am now back in VA and the very first thing I had to do was massage and adjustment. They fit me in at the last minute again. The services were still amazing if not better (now they are aware of my issues)!! I am bringing my son tomorrow for a Christmas gift. Alpine Health Center Review I have never written a review before, and I apologize for the length, but I feel led to tell my story about THREE YEARS of constant chest pain and the care of Dr. Michael Whalen and Alpine Health Center... The pain was in the left upper and left side of my chest. It presented suddenly, was very acute, and mimicked the signs of cardiac arrest. Needless to say, this was very alarming. One thing that was significant was the fact that I could palpate the pain – I could touch the area with my hand and the pain would present itself immediately. The time for my annual wellness visit with my Primary Care Physician had arrived and at that time the doctor asked if I had experienced any chest pain (this is a common question). When I said, “Yes” (and then touched the area where the pain presented), he immediately performed an EKG but did not examine the area. The EKG was inconclusive but over the next two years, it began a flurry of other cardiac-related tests including: drawing blood to check for specific cardiac enzymes, chest x-rays, a cardiac ultrasound, a stress test, an echocardiogram, and a CT Scan. All test results were negative for cardiac-related issues. The pain persisted...daily. My PCP was at a loss for answers and thought that a previously-removed fatty-tissue tumor on my back may have returned and pressing on a nerve. I was then referred to a neurosurgeon to further explore this possibility. Upon seeing the neurosurgeon, he was perplexed at the referral but he did, however, touch the area and the pain was immediately present. He immediately concluded that the pain was not neurological and not the result of a recurring tumor. Nevertheless, the doctor ordered an MRI and it, too, was inconclusive. He then scheduled a full-body bone scan – again, inconclusive. The neurosurgeon was unable to diagnose the pain and simply referred me to Pain Management. I did not schedule any appointments because I knew this was something musculoskeletal in nature and I did not want any medication to just mask the pain – I wanted an answer. Having been a patient of Dr. Whalen for over 20 years, I was in Alpine Health Center for my monthly chiropractic adjustment and when Dr. Whalen asked me if I had any pain, I simply said, “Yes. I would like for you to take a close look into the chest pain I’ve been having.” He examined the area and in less than ten minutes knew what the problem was! Two muscles were locked in contraction: Pectoralis Minor and Serratus Anterior. During that adjustment, he had one of the massage therapists (Jessica) to come join the examination to ensure she was aware of the exact muscles in question. Dr. Whalen gave his recommendation of ten sessions of massage therapy and the use of the LUMIX Laser to the affected muscles. After just two sessions, I noticed remarkable improvement and knew that Dr. Whalen had made the correct diagnosis and the proper course of action! I quickly became able to move and lift (and sleep!) again. By the time session eight had been complete, the pain was completely gone! No surgeries; no injections; no medications! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Whalen, Jessica and the Alpine Staff, and I cannot thank them enough! In just a few short weeks, the diagnosis, the massage therapy, and the LUMIX Laser therapy, together, freed me from the severe pain of over three years! Jay McCoy

Seeing Dr Michael E Whalen is the best decision ever! Alpine Chiropractic offers multiple modalities for healing - chiropractic adjustments (force and non-force), cold laser, active release massage and more. And if you've been considering cold laser - it's totally worth it! I am healing a nearly 10 year old hip injury and the cold laser therapy is working miracles. It's already brought down the pain level significantly. I'm in it for the long haul to heal this old injury and not live in daily pain any longer. I was truly amazed with the Cold Laser treatment I received on 5/8/18. Normally I have to wear knee sleeves along patella stabilizer, after my treatment today I literally shopped for 8hrs with no pain. Can't wait to try it on my shoulder and back. A very acute pain in the right shoulder nagged during the day and woke me at nights; the orthopedic surgeon's diagnoses after X -rays was tendinitis; the rotator cup was determined to be in good shape and the only relief available was pain management with pills or cortisone shots that may or may not work. I was most appreciative of the Dr's frankness. The alternative I chose was to visit Dr Whalen at Alpine Chiropractic; he had been able to assist me with a neck vertebra in need of serious manipulation; for the shoulder he offered laser treatment. In the hands of his most able and charming therapist the treatment did its magic. rather science; as the visits progressed so did the relief. I offer this commentary as testimony to real and effective alternative medical assistance and relief; When nagging , chronic pain knock on your door knock on Dr Whalen's door.

An injury from many years ago left me with consistent burning pain in my left shoulder/neck and reduced range of motion. In order to check my blind spot I would have to twist in the seat of my car, I couldn't just turn my head. Multiple trips through physical therapy brought no relief. A family member urged me to see Dr. Whalen. I was resistant because frankly I didn't think chiropractic could help. I had been through ortho specialists and physical therapy. Finally I agreed to give it a try. Dr. Whalen used ART (I had never heard of that) and did more in 30 days than anyone had been able to do in 30 years. My range of motion is much improved and the burning pain is gone. Thank you!!!

I first started seeing Doc for serious migraines and with his expertise, attention to detail, and desire to help relieve my pain I am essentially headache free. This summer my plantar fasciitis came back. In the past, I would see “specialists” and would even humor wearing a boot but with Doc’s suggestion I signed up for his special laser treatment and my foot is completely healed. Adjustments are helping me out with my vertigo and motion sickness, which I never would have thought to go to a Chiropractor for, but was looking for a solution as a long flight last Winter was agony. I definitely have seen an improvement with flights as a trip this Winter had almost no issue. It's something to do with calcium crystal buildup in the inner ear for me, it seems. Also getting help with my lower back, shoulder, and neck as apparently i'm old enough for all that to start to hurt despite no injuries or bad car wrecks in my past. Friendly people.
