I first saw Dr. Victor back in July 2021 for chronic back pain. I have been seeing this practice as needed for 8 months and highly recommend them to anyone. I have used a lot of chiropractic services over the years, and I can tell the difference between a "factory" type of operation and one that listens to the patient and provides individualized care. Dr. Victor definitely listens, and uses his considerable knowledge to treat the issue or issues that you have. He has an easy-going personality and is always very considerate. In terms of chiropractic, he uses a lot of modalities, depending on your specific needs. In addition to traditional "back cracking" he also does a lot of soft tissue work including muscle release, active release therapy (ART), and Grafton technique, as needed. He provides physical therapy exercise recommendations using a video platform that is easy to download onto a mobile phone; the recommendations are tailored well to the current situation. His scheduling is thoughtful and he doesn't try to just get you in as much as possible. He makes strong effort to coordinate well with other practitioners. e.g., when I saw an orthopedics MD, Dr. Victor sent them a very thorough and detailed report of his diagnosis and treatments he had done. He and his wife (also at the practice) take all major insurances. They regularly do various volunteer activities to support the local community, including Scarborough sports teams, a running event, and the local hockey league. They are definitely real and caring people, and are very easy to relate to.

I am writing this second review as a follow up to my first. I continue to be in awe of the progress I am making working with Mend Health! I have struggled with shoulder issues for quite some time and at the time of my last review I was pleased with my progress. I now am feeling like myself, back to lifting and enjoying my re-discovered quality of life!! I also mentioned a side issue, never expecting the chiropractor care could help, but boy was I wrong. Another doctor had told me that the only way to really be free from the pain was surgery. Since I wasn't willing to do that, I thought I'd have to live with the pain. Not anymore! After only a few sessions I have made great progress, with outstanding care, and have hope that I WILL be able to walk again without any pain. Please don't suffer, at least connect for a consult. You will be so glad you did. We deserve to live pain free, and trust me, there is a way! Blessings!

I was hesitant about seeing a chiropractor for my chronic shoulder pain but the timing seemed right for me to try anything after all other options failed. Someone mentioned this place and I gave it a shot. Boy am I glad I did...the session was painful, not sugar coating that at all, but the very next day aside from tissue pain which I figured would be coming after that session...my shoulder was 97.5% healed. It has been over a month since this session and I wanted to wait it out before I gave Victor the 5 star review because I wanted to see how well my shoulder would hold up with my daily routine of push-ups and dumbbell exercises. Still pain free and again it is important for me to reiterate that I had explored all options to fix my shoulder but to no avail. Victor is an absolute sorcerer....forever grateful!

Tracey has been amazing! I feel like I am getting great care and that Tracey is clear on getting me feeling better quickly and not missing out on my usual activities!!! She is smart and good at what she does and up on all the latest techniques that might work . She pulls out all the stops at every visit and works hard to help me heal and she’s really fun to talk to at the same time . Victor and Romeo are amazing also. The whole team feels solid and has their heart and minds in the right place. I am so grateful to have found them❤️

Dr. Victor and Dr. Tracey are a fantastic team whose knowledge and down-to-Earth style were the right match for me. They are the first chiropractors I've worked with who took a truly individual approach to my symptoms. Rather than just doing quick adjustments that took a minute, they spend their time listening first and then providing a holistic approach to treatment. They did not try to sell me expensive pills, pillows, or orthotics. They provide excellent hands-on treatment as well as practical education on movement so I can keep my spine healthy. I most appreciate that they do not nickel and dime me but rather make professional recommendations based on my current needs. I respect and trust them and highly recommend their practice!

I had never ever been to a chiropractor before and needed someone to help me with my lower back pain. A friend recommended Mend Health of Maine. I sent them a message and they responded immediately. I received an appointment the very next morning. I met with Dr. Tracey St. John. My appointment lasted well over an hour. She listened attentively to my concerns about my lower back pain. I was at ease the entire time. For the first time in 6 weeks I woke up with no pain the next morning. I couldn’t believe it. She gave me exercises to do 3 times a day. Which I did faithfully. And at my next appointment my pain was at a 1 out of 10! I highly recommend Mend Health of Maine. I will never hesitate to go there again. Grade: A++. Excellent.

Dr. Victor is great! He listened attentively to my issue, worked on my neck via massage and adjustment, and was very low pressure for follow up appointments. I explained some negative experiences I had had with chiropractors previously and he was super transparent and easy to work with. He’s also great to have a conversation with. They are both professional, personable and reliable, while providing the most personalized treatment you can find. After a traumatizing experience at another chiropractic center in Scarborough, I found Dr. Tracey. I walked into their clean, comfortable waiting room, and immediately knew that I was in good hands. After an extensive review of my medical issues, there were no unnecessary x-rays, and the approach felt more holistic. Dr. Tracey uses heat and soft tissue release before she does any minimal adjustments required to ease discomfort. I cried tears of relief after my first appointment, because I knew I had finally found the treatment and practitioner that is right for me. Dr. Tracey and Dr. Victor and the best chiropractors I have ever worked with. I first met them 8 years ago when I needed help because I couldn't rotate my neck. I had zero range of motion and didn't know if it was possible to have it adjusted at all. Dr. Tracey spent 30 minutes releasing the muscles and adjusted only the specific vertebrae that needed adjusting. I own a Pilates studio and have worked with many chiropractors over the past 20 years. Dr. Tracey and Dr. Victor are very different from any other chiropractor I have worked with. They are so knowledgeable about the entire body working with both soft tissue and the spine. They source out precisely what is wrong and treat the specific are that needs to be adjusted. Too many chiropractors adjust everything in the body hoping they will fix the problem. I have referred my Pilates clients solely to them for the past 8 years as I know they will be in knowledgeable and skilled hands.

I cannot say enough about this place. I recommend them to everyone I know. I first came in to see if they could help with plantar fasciitis I had struggling with for a year and a half. I had attending 6 months of PT and received two cortisone injections with no real change in my pain level. Dr. Tracy and Dr. Victor are amazing chiropractors who care about your total health. This is not your typical crack and come back weekly place. I went there with back pain and they discovered that it was not my back, but a tight muscle. They stretched it and gave me exercises to make it better. Do yourself the biggest favor and stop reading this review right now and schedule an appointment with Tracy or Victor. Did you do it? No? Ok so maybe you’re bad at following directions or need more than just one sentence to convince you. Fair enough, but just remember, the more you put off making your appointment, the more pain and discomfort you’ll have to tolerate. I first met Tracy and Victor 6 years ago when I threw my back out from the simple act of running up my stairs (so awesome). I was in serious pain and it was ruining every aspect of my professional and personal life. I had sought out two other doctors prior to finding Tracy and Victor but neither of them did anything to remedy the problem. Tracy and Victor took turns treating me and within a couple visits I was as good as new. Not only that but they took the time to explain to me exactly which part of my spine was injured and how to prevent another injury in the future. One of the many amazing things about these two is that they both seek to eradicate your issue and send you on your way, not keep you in continual treatment while emptying out your bank account. Over the next 6 years they helped me with a plethora of issues and challenges I was confronted with due to getting older, the physical rigors of my profession and from being a very active gym rat. I can honestly say that during this time I always felt like no matter what ridiculous injury I’d give myself that they would always be there to take care of me and get me back to 100% Every. Single. Time. Tracy and Victor are two of the most genuine, caring and talented human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Over time I was fortunate enough to become close with their family and would enjoy the endless love and affection they would shower on me. That, in my opinion, is what makes for a great caretaker. I’ve seen Victor and Tracey repeatedly over the last 5 or 6 years. They have treated me for every dumb thing I’ve managed to do to myself and a couple that weren’t my fault. I’ve received treatment for everything from shin splints to being rear ended on the freeway. With treatment comes more than just a visit and a goodbye. You get to explain exactly what happened with the injury. You get treated and the treatment is built just for you. If you need an adjustment, they will adjust you, if you need soft tissue work they will give you ART or Graston, if you need a range of rehab exercises you will get that. They are a full recovery center with both heating and icing treatment on top of their amazing skill set as top notch DC’s. Best part is just how fast you will feel better.

I recently suffered from sharp pain in my lower back and couldn't walk properly for a few days. I called a few chiropractic offices in Scarborough and Mend was the only one that would give me same day treatment. The others wanted me to come in for an initial consultation and exam then return another day to discuss their findings after which I would have to commit to a multiple session package. This is a sales tactic that backfired on them. They lost my business. When I spoke with Victor at Mend he was transparent, knowledgable, and willing to provide same day treatment. He adjusted my hip and walked me through some basic exercises that I can do on a regular basis. My pain subsided later that evening and I am grateful for his service.
