Delicious, large portions, and fairly priced. Make sure to order ahead because they prioritize pick up orders over walk-ins so you’ll have to wait for a long time if you walk in without ordering ahead.

Neighborhood "go-to", as it's a bit hidden behind street construction outside. Cozy, countertop dining inside, shaded high tables outside. Service is friendly and the food isn't fast but is quality for the wait (depending on day and time, it varies between 10 minutes to over an hour. Order ahead online if you're short on time). Visit and get a drink, if only to enjoy the Garfield collection of oddities :)

Delicious meats and foods! This tiny little place is at once cute and functional. I had an amazing half smoke and my wife loved her Frito pie. They still merchandise, as well. Basic condiments (ketchup, mustard, hot sauce) are free, but I recommend getting the sauerkraut at a minimum from the premium toppings. Delicious!

4 or 5 for the food, 2 or 3 for the price. Halfsmoke with chili was pretty solid, certainly a higher quality than your standard DC halfmoke. Decently sized and, although I was craving something additional after I was done, one is probably enough unless you're particularly hungry. However, $8.25 for this is what I would expect to pay at the ballpark, and in this setting, I think is kind of ridiculous. Another reviewer noted that it was a cheap eats kind of place which I would say is not the case, especially if you get a couple sausages or a sausage and one of the snacks that they offer.

It's very difficult to find a place that sells half smokes by retail but this place is one of the few - and the half smokes are absolutely outstanding. My understanding is they are made on the premises with all natural ingredients. The high quality is evident from the first taste. Ben's has nothing on these. Get 'em by the dozen and put 'em in your freezer so you can enjoy half smokes anytime from the comfort of your home!

If you are in the mood for a sausage or chili, this is a great place to come to. I was having a protein fix and this place solved the problem. I ordered the half smoked sausage with beef chili. The sausage and chili were excellent. This is a small restaurant and there are few seats. The facility is very clean and the management is very nice. The sausages are hand made at the restaurant. The sausages contain beef and pork meat.

Everything about this place is the ideal comfort lifestyle. Their specialty is sausage, but they also have chilis, egg and cheese sandwiches, frito pie, and breakfast burritos/chilitos/veggie-litos. There are seven options for sausages: half-smoke, chorizo, salt and pepper chicken, chickendog, garlic pork, smoked spicy chicken, and veggie sausage. You can add bacon, cheese, beef or vegetarian chili, sauerkraut, jalapenos, or a Gordy's pickle as toppings. I chose the half-smoke and topped it with vegetarian chili. Super delicious, particularly the vegetarian chili! I also was able to try their breakfast burrito, which was surprisingly tasty. In fact, my California-born and raised fiancé said that it was the best breakfast burrito he's had in the area. We were able to enjoy our half-smokes and burrito inside, which I think is the ideal situation for optimal freshness. However, I will admit that there is not much seating inside or outside. Try to come at an off-peak time! Aside from the delicious meats and foods, the decor is absolutely on point. There are tons of vintage McDonald's Garfield mugs that have been repurposed as plant holders, as well as other Garfield toys scattered everywhere. I love all the plants in the little space too.

After all the hype, my Tuesday night dinner buddy and I had to check this place out. Here's our rating: 5 stars for atmosphere. It's on the corner of a busy street in the fun, Shaw neighborhood. It's a small, neighborhood shop with limited seating inside along the windows and one painted picnic table outside. 4 stars for food. The menu is very small and you may need to order two sausages to be full. I ordered the chicken sausage and the chorizo. The chorizo is amazing!

My favorite cheap eats spot in DC and one of the most underrated Shaw establishments by far. They do fresh sausages, halfsmokes and chili items like frito pie. My personal favorite is the chilito. Their chili is so good and when it's rolled up in a hot tortilla with cheese, it's magical. 2 of my other favorites are the chorizo and salt and pepper chicken, both with peppers and onions. They also have a small but really great beer and non alcoholic drink selection. I like to call in my order ahead of time, or a drink a beer while j wait for my order. The husband and wife team that run this place are always super nice and welcoming. They also sell their sausages fresh to go. You won't be dissapoionted!

Really great sausages of all varieties. Nice space and perfect grabbingna quick bite to eat. A tiny bit expensive for what is essentially someone cooking up a sausage for you but it pays off in quality. They also have some fun menu items like chillitos: chili wrapped in a tortilla with shredded cheddar cheese.

I endlessly crave the chilito w/ jalapeños, and love all their sausages (the half-smoke is my favorite). Not a fan of the sloppy joe... it's a chilito but without the best parts of the chilito. Just get the chilito. A super-friendly couple own+run the place.
