I've eaten in small diners like this, but, the "vibe" in here is palpable. Locals know this place, and the workers here know them. Great interaction. My breakfast was a scrambled egg, with ham, bacon, sausage, cheese, on whole wheat. Wow, great combo and taste. If you are looking for good, solid food, do this place In and out in less than 30 min. Loved the poster! Thanks

I've always passed this small establishment thinking the food wouldn't be good due to how small it is. I was busy heading to work and decided to give them a try. They close at 2pm mist days but are usually busy. The average meal is under 10$ They have a variety of things to eat. The food is cooked right in front of you and everything is fresh. A decent order of fries is under 2$ The ladies working there are more than nice and are very good with the customers. I'd for sure go again.

I visited STL for a family vacation and came across this delight on Google. I didn't have any food here (I wasn't feeling too well), but the kiddo and the lady did. After seeing their food, I was contemplating about eating and dealing with the consequences later. Lol. The food looked so good. Both the kiddo and the lady said it was absolutely delicious and would definitely stop back in once we come back to STL! So the next time we are back, we are stopping in. While waiting for the food, you could most definitely tell that the locals knew that this place was terrific! The ladies that work there know their customers! <3 Furthermore, after we left and browsed the area for a bit, we walked back past the diner. One of the ladies popped out and asked us about our trip. I was flabbergasted that she took the time to remember us and even more to ask. We appreciate your wonderful hospitality, going out of your way to show your kindness! It was memorable. Wisconsin loves you <3. Don't change, stay Gold like you are! <3

A classic diner! It is a really small place, so they make the food right before your eyes. Very friendly service and excellent food. I tried a slinger for the first time here and it did not disappoint. Heads up: not much parking available and the door isn't automatic.

Downtown staple! Pleasant staff, who take pride in preparing your order just as requested. Food comes out fresh, prompt & piping hot. Properly priced. Masks required. Indoor seating available as is takeaway. Call in ahead if you’re in a time crunch. Plenty parking so stop in for a bite during their weekday breakfast/lunch hours.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The atmosphere of this place truly completed the experience. The people from the cooks, servers, and even the regular customers were among the friendliest group of people I've ever run across. The whole meal was accompanied by fantastic and helpful conversation with everyone around. I hope I can return before leaving town.

The food is really good! They don't go low quality on any of their ingredients. The breakfast sandwich that I had tasted good. It might not look as fancy as some other restaurants, but the food is some of the best for Breakfast I've tasted in St. Louis. The staff is also very friendly.

We got the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich it was okay. Bread and egg were good needed more cheese and the bacon was inconsistent. I'd try this place again hopefully the burgers are better.

Recommended: 3 people ate for $25. Our service was excellent and speedy. I could tell that they have many regular customers who come in for carry-out, which made it feel homey. Our portion sizes were perfect; just enough to fill us up and not leave any behind. It's great tasting food that comes with a nostalgic atmosphere. Bonus points for absolutely perfect sweet tea.

Great food and incredibly friendly staff! This little unassuming diner is one of those little gems that most people would drive right by without thinking twice about stopping. Glad I decided to check this place out! My entire family, I clouding my two picky kids, loved everything about their meal. (We had breakfast but I'm sure lunch/dinner is just as amazing.) I definitely highly recommend this place.

I just went there for the first time after years of driving by and never stopping. My wife and I split a double cheeseburger and philly-cheese steak and both were very good. This is exactly what I was expecting and wanting when I walked in the door. The service was friendly, food was prepared quickly, and the prices for the combos were very fair. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Don't let looks deceive you. The place is small, it's out of the way, and the restroom is in the basement. But we loved our breakfast. And I noticed how many people were regulars. It seemed two out of three people were recognized by name. If you bring more than three, there's not enough room to sit together but you'll make due. This is not a fancy place. Don't expect white linens with your hash browns. But you'll like the hash browns. Crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside. Pancakes were really good and the biscuits and gravy were home style.

You have to go. This is an icon diner in St Louis. Very Small - during this coronavirus they have taken out their counter stools, they are ooen for take out. Parking lot is very small. Breakfast and Burgers served from 6am - 2pm. Great place to grab a breakfast. Expect to smell what they are cooking, this place is small. I feel like I could reach behind the counter and flip a burger.

I love coming here for breakfast on Saturday mornings. I think their prices are fair and their service is great. I ordered an omelette one day and dropped it in my vehicle before I made it back to my destination. I called them and told them the whole story. She told me to return the damaged omelette she replaced it free of charge. I was so relieved. You MUST try their slinger. Yum!

This definitely doesn't look like a place where you would find great food and friendly service. Its dirty, tiny, and run down but we were pleasantly surprised. We had biscuits and gravy and an egg sandwich that were very good! The food was hot and the waitresses were very nic .

Had to wait 20 minutes for my breakfast, but it was worth it. The dining space is pretty small, but it's bigger than it looks from the outside. Definitely will come back again. Looks like it seats a max of 20 people, and it was pretty consistently busy while I was here.

This place has been around for a long time but I'm not sure why. It's not the best diner food and it's overpriced for the amount of food you get. My sausage was overdone and my wife's eggs were underdone. The service was a little slow too, I had to walk to the counter and wait a minute to get my bill. All things considered, my first visit will probably be my last. That doesn't usually happen but my wife had already been there once and wasn't impressed then either. We were hoping that was a bad day because it's walking distance. But it looks like that's not the case.

Excellent Service! Was told there would be a 25min wait. They were cranking out the food fast and had several call in orders. I sat down and was immediately given my drink. The best part of the place is the hometown feel. As we ate our breakfast, about four regular customers came in the get their breakfast and chatted with the cook and waitress a minute. You're eating at an authentic, hometown St. Louis eatery when you're here. And it doesn't hurt that the food is good too!

Plus this is the location where many scenes from "White Palace" with Susan Sarandon and James Spader was shot back in the early 1990's.
