What a great sandwich shop! Super unusual sandwich selections. There Hass to be at least 25 different kinds of sandwiches up there on the board. A little bit pricey but well worth it and good quality food. There’s a full bar also!

💭I recently tried Cheba Hut with my boyfriend, which exceeded our expectations. We ordered two White Widows to go, and they were truly incredible. The quality of the ingredients was top-notch, and the flavor was phenomenal. The sandwich overflowed with tender and juicy meat and melted cheese. The sauce added just the right amount of tang, and the buns were soft and fluffy. Every bite was a delight, and we were both left completely satisfied. Not only was the food excellent, but the customer service was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the entire experience enjoyable. The restaurant's atmosphere was also great, with a fun and relaxed vibe that made us feel right at home. I highly recommend Cheba Hut to anyone looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Cheba Hut has been longtime stable of mine(as well as many other current and post-college students) for their great food and weed-filled decor. After having a particularly heavy dinner, I settled on grabbing a sticky-icky with a beer at the bar. The sandwich on wheat bread was sooo yummy. It really took me back to the good old days. 😀 However, a shot of moonshine was $7.50, which I found to be slightly abhorrent. The beer however was delicious. I personally went for a mocha stout was more than satisfied. I can't wait to return for real blunt with ham.

They have great sandwiches and friendly staff with a unique atmosphere! However, the last 3 or 4 times I've been the sandwich maker has not paid attention to instructions and added ingredients I asked to go without due to a mild allergy. Happened on different sandwiches and different weeks, but every time for my last couple visits. All in all, great sandwiches, but the attention to detail on the food doesn't seem to be there. Edit: Cheba reached out to me, and they took the review in mind, offering me a sandwich next time I'm in for the issues. Hopefully it improves!

First time at Cheba Hut. I went with the White Widow sandwich with everything that comes on it. Truly it did not disappoint. I got the blunt size and it was huge. I was for the rest of the day. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely be going back for more.

Parking totally sucks but everything else about this place was truly amazing. The food was so delicious. I didn't get to enjoy the bar because I was heading to an appointment after. However, I will definitely go back to enjoy the full experience when I have more time to hang out.

Cheba Hut has been one of my favorite sub shops for nearly a decade and is usually my go-to if I don’t know what I want to eat. This location is great with great people. The parking situation is a bit hellish, but people make it work. Store is big and can seat large parties comfortably without negatively impacting other patrons. I haven’t sat at the bar and had a drink yet, but I’d like to. The only reason I knocked off two stars is because they’re EXTREMELY slow. Usually, door-to-door time when I pick up food is about 20-25 minutes. They also have a major ventilation issue. The store is always full of smoke, which burns my eyes while I’m waiting for my food.

Got 2 subs for pick up, was ready to go in 10 minutes. Staff was helpful. Cool vibe inside- would have loved to stay for a pint but overall loved the kali mist, the jalapeños pack a small punch. Messy, but delicious! Thought that the price ($20) is a little expensive for two 8 inch subs but that's just my opinion- would be back

Put in an online order got there right when it was supposed to be finished. I ended up watching people who came in after me get theirs faster. Waited about 30 minutes before I had to remind them about my order. Cashier was nice and told his manager who ended up giving me coupons and some treats but still waste of time why order online if I have to wait longer than a walk in.

They are closed inside. So they numbered the parking spots and you need to make your order the phone or online. I called when I was in the parking spot and they were pretty quick. I got the la canna 12” and they cut it in half so I split it with my sister. It was delicious. My brother got the 5-0 and it was spicy. He liked it. They have regular lays chips. Definitely will be back. Great sandwiches!

Went in to grab a beer and sandwich. Everything on the menu is always good! Sat at the bar and chatted with a few peeps and a couple off the clock workers. Everyone was chill and welcoming. Will always be back for a beer and sandwich!

Food was on point! This location is open later which is a bonus as well. They have a nice bar with a good variety of drafts to choose from. Nice atmosphere with great people to be around. The subs are huge but wish they added just a little bit more meat to the biggest ones. 3 different types of bread to choose from and free refills from the fountain drinks is a nice touch. After a smoke ride, this is the best place to stop when you have the munchies, then take another smoke ride when you leave!

Love the sub I got. It was delicious I believe it was named the 5.0 the atmosphere is very casual. I think they were going for a beach vibe. They have a bar with a good selection of beer. It's right off Roosevelt row so if you go to first Fridays check it out you won't be disappointed. I would have have given them 5 stars but I had a $50 bill and they would not accept it. Not a very smart idea. What kind of business turns away money get yourself one of those blacklight money checkers or something. me and my girlfriend walking to circle k to go get change. We went back for the food.

Response to Owner** Agreed you cannot control the parking. You can control communicating to customers thru your website some things that might make it easier for patrons to manage the lay of the land if they choose to come down & get some good food! Good food! Parking sucks around lunch. Wait is usually 20-30 minutes for to-go orders. Probably not worth the hassle for those with restricted lunch times. Plan accordingly.

Been eating with Cheebs for near two decades although, this was my first time at this location. Let me just say, this location is tricky getting parking. I did 3 laps around the block before someone left. The staff was great & accommodating to my large office order. I just didn't like this location. I will always go to Tempe or Mesa, if I'm closer. Finding parking added an extra 20 min to the time I allotted to pick this up. I don't like using 3rd party companies to deliver either lol so it is my fault.

Cheba Hut is by far the best place to get toasted subs. The 5-0 sub and the White Widow are my favorites. They are friendly, the food is delicious and you can get kool-aid to wash it down. I've been to the Glendale, Downtown Phoenix, and Ahwatukee locations and all of them are absolutely great. Highly recommended!! 👍

I love Cheba Hut, first of all it’s adorable, the stoner references are too cute and this one in particular has upped its decor. It’s also in a beautiful historical building. Now the sandwhiches, classic deli sub, good quality and well filled. I don’t live in Phoenix so have only gone a few times, infact make it a point to stop when we pass through, but everything I’ve tried on the menu is so good. Their speciality garlic bread is so buttery good. Yum! PS: as long as your dog is well behaved they’re allowed inside and in the little sidewalk patio.

Cheeba hut was always such a great place to go to in Mesa before school at MCC back in 2004. That was a small mom and pop location and now coming to this Phoenix location I really get the feel of the theme. Between the artsy photos, marijuana posters, stickered up bar you really enjoy the ambiance. The sandwich names are catchy and absolutely delish!!! Must come to!!

This was my second time visiting this place. The first time was years ago. During this visit, I got the AK-47 Pinner sub (aka French Dip). It was a good sandwich, although I wish the onions were sautéed rather than raw. This would have rounded out the sandwich better. I would consider possibly visiting this restaurant again one day.

Arguably the best sandwiches in town. A Stoner themes restaurant that is true to the name. Always love the atmosphere and they have excellent beers on tap. My fave is always the Abita Purple Haze. This sandwich is the AK47. Top Notch. One of my favorite places ever. They have live music acts every First Friday and beers are $2 off as well on every Friday.

This is not based on the food it's self. I was picking it up, so I don't know how it tasted. Parking sucks but it's downtown. All parking there sucks. The 1 sub that was ordered online, took 26 minutes to pick up. I will say that the place was busy, so probably tastes good. The cute VW outside is fun. So if it's super yummy, maybe worth it?

Great subs, a little pricey. Cost about $9 for a 4" French dip + chips and a drink. The French dip (Ak-47) was better than most that I've had. I would definitely come back here, even though I had to explain to my kids why there were pictures of cigarettes everywhere.

Subs are great. Environment is great. 99% of the time, the folks helping out are great. Today, something was off. A blonde female took my order, visibly upset by the fact she had to take my order. She didn't say anything, just stood there until I said something. Then I order a magic mushroom sub, and wait until I'm able to place a tip. She skips the tip screen. I ask if I'm able to place a tip, and she says "you don't have to do that." I tip 4 bucks cash anyways. She says nothing. Nobody else has ever interacted with me this way. If it's that much of a burden to accept an order, maybe more staff should work front?

Somedays are better than others. That's the case today, one sandwich was switched with another customers. I handed them theirs for mine. Great food, tasty and awesome! Bartender was in a mood. Three quarters the way through my meal she offered water. I had intended to order cider, but didn't get offered a beverage by Marissa until we bout to roll outside. Hope everybody is doing okay. I know things are hard for everyone. No tips dripped.

Food was great. Staff was weird in the best way possible and even their artwork was awesome, almost purchased a giant 100$ Pokémon card. Only knock would be that there were flies inside but easily overlooked when the subs are that satisfying.

A local favorite, according to a colleague who grew up here. Food was tasty, but it is a bit of a wait to get it (a sign proclaims that it's a miracle if you get your food in 10 minutes or less.) The actual sandwich was pretty good, and the place was packed. Food took about 25 minutes from order to eating. Interesting stoner vibe (most sandwiches are named after various strains of weed,) which many seemed to find endearing. Ingredients were top-notch, though.

Ate here with my two kids aged 11 and 6. Didn’t realize it was a marijuana themed place until I walked in but I didn’t care as they seemed oblivious and loved their food which is more important to me. Had constant stream of patrons, many to go. Prices a bit high but in my opinion reflective of quality. Only complaint was that beer price was high and was a pain you had to order that separately at bar on other side of venue. Is a pain when trying to keep eye on kids at table.

Yo, what is up with your hood ventilation Cheba Hut? It's smoky AF in your restaurant and it's been at least a week or two. All of your employees are coughing because it's so hard to breathe in there and it's definitely not from the weed. It's hard to be in there for 30 minutes, I can't imagine what it's like for the employees for a full day. That's dangerous and absolutely a code violation. Please fix it because your sandwiches are great and your employees deserve clean air. If anyone reading this right now has asthma, don't go there till this gets fixed, you'll certainly have an issue. I'll replace the 3 stars with 5 once this has been addressed. Thanks for the great sammies though!

Some of the best and most ‘unique’ sandwiches in the valley, and certainly one on my favorite locations! Lots of vegetarian friendly options, which can be further customized to your liking. I love their ‘munchies’ and rice crispy bars! Their garlic bread is amazing as well, you can’t go wrong with anything in this place. Very friendly staff, and your food comes out pretty fast.

My absolute *favorite* sub in Phoenix! The flavor profiles are delicious, and there is a great selection creations. Customizations are welcome too. I usually pick up my order, and the store is always fast. Sometimes the parking lot is busy, especially during peak times. But the sandwiches are 100% worth it!

I've always heard of this place on how great the food is, but never actually tried it until about 3 weeks ago. The sandwiches here are super delicious. I had the AK-47 and it was really good. So good that I had to try other items as well. I ended up getting the Silver Haze and White Widow. Love the vibe (super copacetic), workers here are awesome, and place was clean. Been a returning customer ever since.

Wow. Just got to Phoenix and was greeted by the nicest guy. Don’t know his name, but went there July 3rd at 11:30. He was outside taking orders, getting refills, and delivering food. They didn’t ask us about leaving a tip but we would have. That guy was the nicest guy, super friendly, and made the entire experience of us eating in the car very nice. Delivered food and made us feel very welcome. We don’t know who he is but I hope with this information you can figure it out and let him know what a great job he is doing. Just the friendliest guy. Food was good too. Good speed of delivery. Will definitely come back because of the employee who gave us a good experience.

Place is awesome, it's theme is interesting and kind of funny. The food is great, the staff is focused efficient and cordial. Why four stars then, you ask? Parking was difficult during rush as well as the line. So if your read this entire post and can deal with a line and parking consider it 5 stars.

The store is large, and the employees friendly. They will make their sandwiches to your liking. There's outdoor seating, as well. They will give you an order marker with the face of someone famous. The marketing manager was very nice. Parking is a little strange as it is one long lot along the side of the building, and is a little narrow. Otherwise, that did not deter from the overall experience!!

This place is great. Awesome atmosphere and great tasting subs. The atmosphere is very cool and they serve beer at this location. They always seem to have happy hours that start at 4:20 p.m. My favorite sub is the Midwest best. I'm glad to see them expanding stores in the valley.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place I usually get the White Widow which is so delicious! My co-workers and I placed an order for lunch and it was 6 subs total, they got the order right and had it ready within 10 minutes, now that I know this location is so close to my work I will definitely be coming more often. My co-workers ordered a Kali Mist, Apollo 12, and Pac Blue and they all loved their sandwiches. The gentleman at the register was super nice and very fast. Definitely wish the location had better parking (but hey that's part of being downtown). As for the subs they were well packed and perfectly toasted!

Had heard great things about this place, so we finally checked it out. Not impressed overall. Ordered the Jamaican Red sandwich, which tasted like more of a buffalo style hot sauce over grilled chicken. The chicken was spicy and tasty, but the jalapeño cream cheese I added was not too flavorful. I will say the bread was fresh and toasty. However, many tables were dirty, and our food took 20 minutes to come out, which seemed a bit long considering it wasn’t that busy inside. The guy taking our order seemed to move in slow motion and was confused by his POS system, but I guess you can’t be mad he seemed high when that’s the whole theme of the restaurant! Maybe it was just an off day, but to me the food was average and service was poor and slow.

There's a mini-bar off to the side for quick drinks and arcade games on the walls to play. A very unique sandwich shop which I look forward to coming to again.

Leaving a review because Cheba Hut is the most amazing thing to have ever happened. The first time I tried Cheba Hut was with my cousin, and I am forever thankful she introduced us. I always, ALWAYS, eat the White Widow on garlic herb bread because it is just incredible. Sure, I could try new things and step out of my comfort zone but they say if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it! And I will faithfully stick to that until my taste buds order me otherwise. This location is always fairly busy, but I order online so it is ready by the time I arrive and it has always worked out for me. Love the staff, love everything about this. Oh, parking will be horrible here but if you can get past that - it'll be heaven on earth.

My family and I stopped in on Christmas eve morning just as they were opening up. They had to warm up the grills so the very friendly staff welcomed us to sit and wait until they were ready to create our order. The guys that man the place were very accomedating, the place was inviting and clean and the overall vibe was chill and relaxed. The choice of garlic bread for our sandwiches was an excellent one. This seems to also be a fun place to throw back a cold one after work or on the weekend while getting your grub on. Would recommend this place to anyone on a budget or not. I went here for the first time with my dad, and I was really surprised by how many references there were to weed in there. Nevertheless, the food was delicious! I got a Humboldt sandwich (but I forgot to take out the mushrooms), garden salsa sun chips, and their rice krispie treat was amazing, probably one of the best ones I've had! I also liked their blue raspberry kool-aid. I would definitely come back here again!

Sandwich was great albeit a little expensive. Rice Krispie was nice and not hard but lacked sweetness and much melted marshmallow. My only real negative is the people who work there. I get that the whole restaurant gimmick is marijuana-worshiping, but having the cashier be totally obviously high out of their mind and taking your order and saying random stuff to you and how your name is weird is extremely off-putting.

Best Cheba Hut location I've been to. Nice, spacious dinning area. Subs are toasted and taste delicious. There is also a beer bar which seats about 10 people. According to maps, this location closes at 11 on a Friday night. They are actually open until 2am.

I've enjoyed the food here since it opened, however the last three times I've ordered from here my order has been wrong. Tonight I ordered a dank with extra meat, which has an upcharge, and received very little meat total and zero pepperoni on half of the sandwich. I also ordered a meatball that didnt have any sauce on it, absolutely zero marinara sauce on the entire sandwich. The 3rd sandwich I ordered was fine. I just suggest checking the order before driving home to be disappointed and overcharged.

First, I love cheba hut. However I had ordered 3 sandwiches and which one of them was a blunt size (yeah, not cheap right?) Came to pick it up and they had made a pinner size (honest mistake) they then corrected it with the right size. However upon coming home, both sandwiches (the pinner & blunt) were made incorrectly (allergies) and i even have the receipt to show for it. So when I called to ask what they could do, they said they can offer me a discount for next time. Like bro, you owe me a sandwich , in conclusion I have no sandwich, spent $40, and still have to purchase my next sandwich from them. So make sure you check your sandwich before leaving. Only great thing was the nice guy who came out to give me my order & complimented my name.

Okay I love Cheba Hut. Im not sure what happened, perhaps they were training some new people, but my girlfriend and I ordered two white widow blunts. My girlfriend asked for extra white widow sauce on the side. They gave her spicy chipotle mayo or something like that on the side. I ordered extra sauce on the sandwich and added jalapeno cream cheese. They charged us for all of that extra stuff and we didn't get any of it. Mine didn't have extra sauce or the jalapeno cream cheese. Also when we pulled mine out of the bag it wasn't wrapped well in the in foil and it spilled all over me in the car. Overall a frustrating experience for 30$.

I used to be a frequent Cheba Hut customer while attending college in Boulder. Sadly, that location has since closed, and this location is now the closest to me in Phoenix. I ordered a Red Panama for pickup today. When I noticed after picking up that a few of my requested ingredients were missing, and after a long and confusing phone call, they offered to remake the sub in ten minutes. My first time here, very nive dining experience. I had the Apollo 13 (Greek inspired sandwitch), amazing bread to start off with, chicken was seasoned very nicely and veggies were fresh. I also saw the AK-47 (French dip) sandwitch and it looked amazing, they have 3 sizes to choose from (4,8 & 12 inch) along with chips, soft drinks, tea, and Kool-Aid (yes, Kool-Aid, Oh, Yeah!).
