Reviews of Tommy DiNic’s
Hubby saw this place had good reviews for their beef brisket sandwich so we tried it and were not disappointed! Sandwich was filled with juicy moist brisket with plenty of flavor. Provolone was nice and sharp and the broccoli rabe was chopped up nice to make it easy to eat and super flavorful. Delicious sandwich and fast service. Bread was also really good. I just wish they had extra sauce options for the sandwiches but they were still really good without any additions!
This is my first time in Philly and a friend recommended Dinic’s. She said it will be part of her wedding catering so I had to come try it. It’s places like these that make Philly so cool to me. Part of the culture. Friendly, straight forward service that has a much less hostile vibe than NYC. I ordered the roast pork sandwich as recommended. I got Italian hot peppers and spinach. No cheese. What I loved about the sandwich was how fresh it tasted. Simple high-quality ingredients and packed with meat. Not too much oil or over seasoned. In sacrificing the cheese I lost a bit of flavor. If you decide to be a healthy nerd like me ask for a bit of extra salt to compensate.
Had the Roast Pork sandwich. The pork was nicely sliced thin, but was a bit mild in flavor. More juices would have made it more moist also. The broccoli rabe was a good addition to flavor & texture.
Had to be a tourist and check out the city’s second most famous sandwich. The roast pork (with cheese, broccoli rabe, and hot peppers) was something truly special. Worth every ounce of hype. Fair warning: I like a good amount of spice, and these peppers beat me up pretty good, which was delightful to see. The bread on this sandwich, like all Philly style sandwiches, was secretly the star here.
To preface: I don’t think I’m a fan of roast pork sandwiches. This place was recommended to me by 2 locals. I got the roast pork sandwich with cheese and broccoli rob. I did not like the broccoli rob — it kinda ruined the sandwich for me. The meat was a bit dry. Cheese and bread were great though! Again, I’m no pork sandwich expert but as an average joe, I wasn’t a fan.
If you’re reading this review and wondering, “will it be worth it? How good is it really?”, the answer to that question is YES!!!! The roast pork sandwich is heavenly. It’s very basic and savory. If you’re looking for more pizazz, add the grilled long hots (long green chili peppers). Although this sandwich looks like it’s going to be heavy, I was surprised that it felt filling without the weight of grease. Some in our group were not a fan of the bitterness and crunch of the broccoli rabe, but I thought it was the perfect compliment. While I may not agree that this is the “best sandwich in America” as rated by the Travel Channel, this is an exceptional sandwich and definitely worth a try. Keep working hard, DiNic’s team! Thank you for all that you do!
If I was ever on "The Best Thing I ever Ate" on the Food Network, I'm pretty sure I'd feature their Roast Pork with Broccoli Rabe sandwich. Great bread, tender roast pork, slightly bitter broccoli rabe, and provolone cheese that really pulls it all together. Stopped in on Monday 3/28 at 11:30am and we were on our way in minutes - super efficient. Guys behind the counter were friendly - hard not to be when you're cranking out such a delicious product. So good!
A friend who's a Philly local recommended DiNic's to me. I got the roasted pork sandwich with "greens" (finely diced broccoli rabe) & added provolone. Yes like every other consumer product right now costs are high so you may think it's an expensive sandwich but it's biiiig & tastes great. The pork was moist, sliced thin like I prefer for sandwiches; seasoned but not too much that it over powered the meat. Didn't need any sauces/condiments! I was full so had to wrap up part to take away; can confirm it's delicious leftover too. Pictured here with an iced chai from Old City Coffee.
The roast pork here is fantastic, but my personal favorite is the Italian style pulled pork loaded up with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. Their meatballs and roast beef are also quite good, you really can’t go wrong.
There’s a great video on YouTube where Tommy is interviewed and is asked what their secret is. His reply is that there is no secret, they just take the time to do it right. Sit down at the counter, take a bite and you’ll understand.
Pro tip, their menu board gives prices for one or two toppings but don’t let that stop you from loading up and getting three. Broccoli rabe, peppers, and provolone go great on everything.
The roast pork sandwich at Tommy Dinic's is so good it made me cry. I felt like I met a long lost friend from the first bite of the roast pork, topped with aged provolone, broccoli rabe, and spicy peppers. While the line to get the sandwich can be long, they are very efficient and in no time, you will be able to have your mouth make love to the juicy roast pork sandwich. Makes one forget about getting a cheesesteak in Philly, it's THAT good!
Wow. Just wow. These sandwiches are going to stick with me for a while. I’m so grateful that one of my Yelp/Instagram friends told me to come here during my Philly visit. The meat in these sandwiches were so tender, and the flavor was just amazing. The bread was soft and fresh, and didn’t become soggy from the meat. I’ve never really had a thinly sliced roast pork sandwich before, and it was a game changer. Since these were so good, my curiosity is peaked to go back and try the roast beef sandwich. Any time I’m in Philly, I’ll be making an effort to get down to Tommy DiNic’s!
I went off a recommendation for the roast pork sandwich and I was not steered wrong. This thing was excellent! The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because of the price point, but hey…this is Downtown Philly.
Roast pork sandwich was good, broccoli rab and provolone cheese each added distinctive color and flavors. Bread softened nicely by the oils. About 10 people were in front of me in line, and the line moved fast. Solid operation they're running.
Honestly I made an effort to swing by Tommy DiNic’s after watching Mark Wiens on YouTube. After watching his Philadelphia tour I had to try the brisket sandwich. Ordered mine with roasted peppers (mild) and it was honestly my favorite sandwich on my Philly “food tour”. Came here for the cheesesteak, left with a love for the brisket sandwich. Tasted like a New Orleans roast beef filled sandwich, soft, juicy, and delicious. I’m sure It would have been even better with some cheese, but it honestly is amazing on it’s own.
Do put this one on your list of must do’s.
This place is worth all of the hype it gets. Both the roast pork and roast beef sandwiches are excellent. The meat is cooked perfect and the sharp provolone cheese they use is unlike any I’ve had. I was also surprised that it was quick and easy to get your food without long waits, and the staff were always super nice.
DiNic's famous roast pork sandwich with american cheese and broccoli rabe is a must stop in Reading Terminal. Everything about the sandwich was delicious.
Roast pork with broccoli rabe was as flavorful as advertised but you’ll need to like the kick of bitterness that comes with broccoli rabe. I love that green-ness flavor as it tastes absolutely fresh to go with the well seasoned moist roast pork. My young son, on the other hand, not as much. Instead of sharing, next time i’d need to try the roast beef with sweet peppers and provolone because that looked absolutely amazing and made me food envious today.
Solid sandwich joint in Philadelphia. Famous for their roast pork and brocolli rabe sandwich.
Great sandwich and they give you a Texas sized portion.
Tommy DiNic’s — where have you been all my life? It’s not my first time at DiNic’s but it’s my first time trying their Roast Pork Sandwich. Usually I get a Roast Beef or Meatball, both of which are excellent. They were sold out of Roast Beef today, so I decided on switching it up and getting a Roast Pork with Sharp Provolone Cheese. I was not disappointed. The pork had a great taste and the sharp prov punched it up. Even taking the food to go on a 30 min drive home the sandwich was still warm.
The roast beef with sharp provolone is delicious. The roast beef is tender, and juicy. The portion size could be a little more but when you are at a destination place like the reading terminal market, the prices/size are going to little more than you would see at your local mom and pop neighborhood place. I would not hesitate to go back.
I’ve been meaning to come here for years but just never had a chance. Today I finally got the roast pork and despite the long line.
Holy smokes. A revelation. Probably my favorite sandwich of all time. Just incredibly balanced between flavors and between being dry and wet. It was perfect . Got the peppers on the side to mix up the provolone and broccoli rabe but I wouldn’t put them on the sandwich.
Best pork sandwich, come back here every time I’m in town.
I visit this place....multiple times...every time I am in Philadelphia. I was delighted when I ended up staying at a hotel a block away from the RTM over the weekend. One of the absolute best sandwiches in the city. The pork w/ sharp prov and broccoli rab 10/10, their brisket with sharp prov and long hots 10/10. Everything about these sandwiches is perfect.
Best Sandwich in Philly. Italian pork is moist, Bread has a good crust, brocollirab adds flavor, sharp provolone way better than. Deli provolone and hot peppers adds a bite and some tang.
Roast pork is so good. Eat it quick or else it will get soggy
Ordered from Goldbelly. My husband used to bring sandwiches home when we lived in NJ. We just had them for lunch! Absolutely delicious. A little taste of Jersey in Florida..heaven!
Sorry no photo ate it too fast!
When visiting phila. This is a must go too place. You will not find a better roast pork sandwich anywhere. You can watch the guys making your sandwich and it doesn't take long, even with the amount of people they serve. Love it.
Different Cheesesteak #876. Special Guest Eaters Jay and the Frederic Five. Jay and friends make an annual pilgrimage from Frederic MD to get cheesesteaks. One problem, no cheesesteaks at DiNic’s in RTM. I got the Brisket (they went to Molly Malloy’s) since I have reviewed other Brisket Cheesesteaks. It was market priced at $14. The Brisket was very darn tasty!! Unfortunately it won’t score well as a cheesesteak.
Excellent sandwich. The pork, broccoli rabe, cheese, bread and peppers are excellent together. Service was nice and efficient, even though we were there near the end of the day.
many food shows and lists in the last few year's have highlighted DiNic's in the Reading PA Terminal Market. the market is a spectacular place to shop and eat. especially eat! lot's of choices. i headed straight to DiNic's to get the highly touted Roast Pork sandwich. chose to order mine with the sharp provolone and peppers but no broccoli rabe. not my thing. so sandwich comes and it looks beautiful. bread is fresh and crusty and the pork is juicy. but i bite in and it's not anywhere near as flavorful as i expected. pretty mild almost bland. peppers added some flavor but the pork was mild and the provolone flavor just disappeared. i enjoyed it quite a bit just a bit underwhelming. i'd sure try another sandwich for comparison on another visit.
When I picture heaven, I picture a massive Dinic's Roast Pork restaurant with seating for everyone and a juicy roast pork sandwich waiting for me when I arrive. The roast pork sandwich with long hots is the first thing that I eat when I arrive in Philly. I stay at the Marriott just to be close to this restaurant. The roast beef is good but the roast pork with provolone and long hots is one of my favorite sandwiches in the world.
Well hot damn. I can't believe I've not been to Dinic's before this. I got the pork sandwich with greens cheese and peppers and it lives up to the hype. Like many classic sandwich places in Philly you have limited choice on toppings and that's perfectly alright. The vibe is also just right: friendly and attentive staff and elbow to elbow at a counter where you can meet someone new if you're so inclined. I was pleasantly surprised that they take cards.
Located in the famous Reading Terminal Market, Tommy Dinic’s is a famous Philadelphia institution that specializes in roast pork sandwiches. Starting out in 1954 with four brothers who sold roast pork and beef sandwiches out of their garage, it turned into Dinic’s restaurant in 1977. Currently, Tommy DiNic’s is owned and run by fourth generation owner Tommy Nicolosi. Surprisingly, even during the pandemic, Reading Terminal Market is mobbed with people. A long line of hungry customers surround the restaurant, eagerly waiting to sink their teeth into the famous sandwiches.
I ordered their classic roast pork sandwich with sharp cheddar and broccoli rabe. The quality of the sesame seed bread was excellent, and the roast pork was juicy and tender. To me, due to the quantity of the cheese, the cheddar was almost too strong and slightly overpowering. And, while I personally enjoyed the broccoli rabe as it helped cut the fat of the meat, I can see why some people may not like it. As the flavor is quite bitter, broccoli rabe really is an acquired taste. The sandwich was quite enjoyable, but I wish the pork was a little hotter. Although the pork was seasoned well and very juicy, it was room temperature - not at all hot.
To wrap it up, even though the sandwich is not mind-blowingly good, Tommy Dinic’s is a must try for any foodie. The location is super convenient, being in the heart of downtown Philadelphia, and it is in a market that is filled with unique and delicious foods and drinks.

Don't overcomplicate it, go with the classic. Roasted pork with sharp provolone, broccoli rabe, and hot peppers. If you go too late in the day, they are likely to sell out and you will be very sad.
Delicious pork, however I gave them 3 stars for giving me the wrong sandwich. It was so crowded that I couldn’t change it. Too bad because I really wanted my pork, hot peppers and broccoli rabe. 😢
Roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe - one of the best sandwiches in philadelphia. The combination of the roast pork, sharp provolone and broccoli rabe is great.
The roast pork was soft, tender and juicy.
Broccoli rabe was very green and fresh.
I’ve been here many times and this was the only time I felt the bread wasn’t as fresh and soft. It seemed like day old bread, which is very unlike my past visits....hence the minus one star.
There’s usually a line, but the line moves fairly quickly.
Would certainly still come back...as usual
Reading Terminal is an absolute zoo but I'll gladly brave the crowds for their Roast Pork sandwich. It may be the best sandwich ever.
Simply one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. We dined in here without even knowing how famous it was. The roast pork with provolone and spinach is simply a Philly treat that won't be forgotten that easily. Add the root beer and man, you'll savor one of the best tender roast pork made ever!
What a sandwich. I only really get to go here when I am playing tourist with family or when I'm feeling touristy. The Italian roast pork is always the right answer. Do get the long hots, do get the broccoli rabe, and OF COURSE you get the sharp provolone. The bun holds up just long enough to keep the sandwich together for you to eat it. If you get the opportunity have a seat at the counter and enjoy the energy of Reading Terminal. One of my favorite must haves of Philadelphia.
Tried the famous Tommy Dinic's pork sandwich and it was indeed quite good! The pork is tender and juicy and the sandwich is surprisingly moist and satisfying. The provolone cheese was really fresh and helped pull the sandwich together. For $1 each you can add toppings like broccoli rabe, cheese, sweet peppers, hot peppers.
This was such a dissapointment. Dinic's was crowned "America's best sandwich" by Travel Channel. This was far from best from my US experience. Meat is juicy, but the taste is quite bland. There are some other ingredients too, but the sandwich still tastes like flavorless meat between a dry bread. Maybe my bar was too high, because I had previously tried Katz's pastrami sandwich in NY and that was a dish that I won't forget!
Legendary roast pork sandwich, must try!
Loved the sandwich. This is the best sandwich in Philadelphia. The sharp provolone cheese was delicious, worth the wait and the hype of man vs food was real.
Came here to try a sandwich since this place is so highly spoke of. I got the beef brisket sandwich with peppers and cheese, and thought it was good, but nothing spectacular. Personally I felt the brisket lacked flavor, but not bad by any means. The sandwich is pretty big so you can probably get two smaller meals out of it. I think it just doesn't love up to the hype
There needs to be a sixth star for truly life altering eating experiences. DiNic’s in Reading Terminal Market would win the coveted 6th star and the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th, too. Philadelphia is famous for cheesesteaks, and while that is a wonderful treat, it’s merely a distraction so that DiNic’s Roast Pork with sharp provolone and long hots is available for the true foodies of the world. I’m a Philadelphia native who took this decadent morsel for granted too long. Now that I live out of state, it is my first, last and in between stop whenever I’m in Philadelphia! If you’d like a Sophie’s Choice moment, try their meatball sandwich. AMAZING! Take a friend and split both sandwiches!
The roast pork with provolone and broccoli rabe was delicious. Bread was fresh and warm.
Good amount of provolone which was evenly spread and melted perfectly and the rabe was delicious and nicely seasoned. Pork was nice and moist. Can ask for more jus if prefer a wetter sandwich but on point for me. Holds together well and easy to eat.
Very satisfied with my pulled pork sandwich, tender, flavorful, juicy. I got the got peppers and they were hot, so if you cant stand the heat get regular roasted peppers. No complaints whatsoever, I would surely go again.
Also smaller line and fast service than most places in the Market. I got better, food, at a good price and extremely fast service so that's a win-win-win situation, as Michael Scott says.
Best of the Reading Terminal Market hoagies / sandwiches, they’re good. One
Sandwich is enough for two people. Don’t over do it you’ll end up really full
Oh my! Blown away by deliciousness. So much heart put into the crafting of the sandwiches here. I found the place the last time I visited the convention. I can honestly say I prefer the roast pork sandwich over the Philly cheese steak anywhere in the city. The bread the cheese, THE MEAT, the broccoli rabe that tops the creation is simply magical.
I can't wait to visit again. I am super excited to bring friends and family to this centrally located spot in the city.
The staff is top notch and I can tell that service and quality is taken seriously!
I am salivating writing this review because it WAS decadent...
Thank you for hosting a fantastic evening experience and just know I can't wait to get back!
Respectfully,
Bryan

Ordered the roast pork sandwich with extra peppers. WOW! It's AMAZING. The sharp cheddar MADE the sandwich. Very satisfying. Washed it down with an ice cold Coke. Perfect.
The hands down King of Pork "Sangwiches " You'll finish it and later you'll want another one the flavor is unique and get it with the cheese (provolone). Worth the trip to the Reading market
The roast pork - i feel that the sharp provolone and the broccoli were more interesting and enjoyable than the pork itself, which was a bit underwhelming.
Most well known sandwich place in Philly. The place gets really crowded at lunch time and the line can get long. If you're lucky, you may get a seat at the counter. Great place to people watch while you enjoy your meal. Simple menu, large portions, made to order. Extra charge for Add ons.
Very solid roast pork sandwich. Recommend trying with brocolli rabe and sharp provolone. Not to be missed on a trip to Reading Terminal Market.
The roast pork is simply the best sandwich in town. Broccoli Rabe and hot peppers are definitely a must. Oh and if you get your fill of the pork.. there is roast beef, meatball, sausage Italian pork, beef brisket. You can eat those sandwiches in between the meals your eating the Roast Pork.
The dining there is amazing. I'd say this would be one of the best places that serves sandwiches. I've recommended this place to many people and have had a great time with getting something quick and fast.
On the recommendation of a local, I tried Dinic's in the Reading Terminal Market. The din of noise and excitement couldn't dull the awesome roll and tender roast pork. Add provolone and peppers for savory and sweet.
Philly cheesesteaks are over-hyped, over-priced, and overrated. The roast pork sandwich is the KING and DiNic's is the best of the best! Be sure to swing by Termini Bros. Bakery on your way out for a dreamy and velvety cannoli.
Good to see you again Italian Pulled Pork with Sharp Provolone Broccoli Rabe and Hot Pepper. What a sandwich! Good right amount of soak which the bread holds in great balance. YUM!
I'm not sure if Dinic's has the BEST Sandwich in America, but their sandwiches are delicious. And the service is great. The interesting pairing of whatever that green stuff is on the sandwich pictured was good - and a little help from the horseradish and peppers made it even better. The Reading Terminal Market is a fantastic place - and I'm glad we came by to try Dinic's.
In town visiting friends and they suggested coming to DiNic's, we were not disappointed either. We shared a hoagie as one is enough for two! The people and service were fantastic. It was a another good reminder of how people in the North can make a great hoagie!
Best Roast Pork & Broccoli Rabe Sandwich in America.
Very busy all day long but a must visit when in Philly.
We ordered ‘on line’. Italian Roast Pork seasoned to perfection. Garlic, rosemary, marjoram, oregano, salt pepper. Cut super thin slices Add broccoli rob sautéed in olive oil and soy oil, garlic, red hot pepper flakes, salt, pepper. Then a sharp provolone from Italy, picante provolone. The bread Sarconi’s bakery. First, this sandwich, even mail order is as good as ever even rivaling the Reading Market home of DiNic’s in center city Philadelphia. I ate the sandwich two days apart. The second day was even tastier. I ate each ingredient, for a taster’s test. The broccoli rob is delicious by itself with the fantastic roast pork broth. The roast pork is so good you just cannot wait for the next bite. The Sarconi bread and the sharp provolone are a perfect home for the whole sandwich. This is THE BEST TASTING, EASY EATING AND DIGESTING, FLAVORABLE SANDWICH IN THE WHOLE USA FOR THAT MATTER THE WORLD. THIS SANDWICH BEATS ALL OTHERS INCLUDING A PHILLY CHEESE STEAK. We will continue ordering this sandwich and sharing it with visiting relatives forever. PERIOD, END OF STORY.👍❤️😛🇺🇸 Oh, we live in Clearwater, Florida.
Great sandwiches but expected something even better. Came to try one of the best pork sandwiches in Philadelphia, but the taste was kind of pale but still really delicious. Would come back to try something different!
I've been wanting to try their pork/broccoli rabe sandwich for a long time. It was very good and the provolone adds a nice touch to it.
don't get me wrong, the pork did taste great, very juicy, and can be salted if you like...but the green (broccoli) killed everything. made the good ol'pork all bitter. I don't think broccoli and meat should ever be eaten together. they are fine separated.
I came for the roast pork sandwich and it's a bit overhyped. It's great pork sandwich but I feel there's room for improvement. Cheesesteak is still the go to. Service is quick if your getting it to go.
If you plan to dine here, just grab any seats available. There’s no need to wait in line. The line is for to go customers. I saw a long line for the sandwich, and somewhat just joined the line. It was good, but adding the veggie makes the bread too wet, which was the reason it didn’t get my last star.
First time in Philadelphia, and we just had to taste the famous pork roast sandwich, the first bite was very overwhelming, like if I took a bite of pork roast with a bunch of wasabi lol. But as I kept eating it, it kept getting better! Definitely have to have an acquired taste for it!
I've had all 3(roast pork, beef & brisket) and all have been great!
OMG, the best Philly roast pork sandwich I’ve had. But that is their specialty. This was just really great. Served with broccoli rabe & sweet peppers and sharp provolone on a nice crispy Italian bread. We also had a meatball sub that was also amazing.
My husband and I visited the reading terminal yesterday and I knew I had to try a sandwich from DiNics! I got the beef brisket with provolone and broccoli rabe and dear god. It was the best sandwich I have ever eaten in my life! I know I will be craving this frequently!
The roasted pork sandwich is a philly classic and it's amazing and tastes good
Located in a very cool market, Tommy Dinic's is an old school deli that prides itself on quality and good portions. I would give it 5 stars, bit given its reputation as one of the best delis anywhere, I was expecting a life changing sandwich. It was very good but not exceptional as I had hoped. Defintely worth the trip, though.
Great pork sandwich. Got mine with provolone but no greens. Next time I will try the greens though. Really fast, friendly service. I went during lunch rush and there was a 10 deep line, but I had my sandwich in a couple of minutes. These guys know their trade!
Although many folks from Pennsylvania swear by Primanti's, and they do make a good sandwich, this is next level. Even though I'm from near Pittsburgh, this is worth visiting Philadelphia to acquire.
Ridiculously good Roast Pork & Sharp Provalone sandwich! I forgot to ask for greens - oh well... I guess I'll just have to come back tomorrow for another! Fast service and excellent flavour!
GOTTA HAVE IT!!
Most people flock to Philly for their famous cheesesteaks, but this sandwich right here is my go to- Italian Roast Pork from DiNic's in Reading Terminal Market- I do it "wit" cheese & rabe
The roasted pork sandwich with provolone and broccoli rabe is absolutely delicious. Expect a long line, but it moves quick.
Amazing and definitely surpasses the hype. Best Roast Pork Sammie with Hot Peppers and Greens!!!
Great roast pork sandwich. We stopped by at about 1030 on a Tuesday and had a sandwich within a few minutes. Well worth the cost. It's my first roast pork sandwich in Philly but I can tell it is very well done. They have excellent prices for the amount of food you get and for the area.
Excellent roast and pulled pork sandwiches at slightly higher prices largely due to location and reputation. Extra charges for add-ons like cheese or greens (broccoli rabe, spinach). Located near the center of the vendor diverse Reading Terminal Market, grab a spot at the counter if you can or wait in the long wrapping line for friendly service.
Awesome sandwiches! The roast pork with sharp cheese and greens is outstanding.
Dinic's is the place to go for a great Roast Pork sandwich in the Reading Terminal Market! Piping hot with long hots and some sharp provolone. That is all you need! Soooo good!
Lived up to the hype. Don't worry about long lines cause they move quick. Get the Roast Pork, get all the ingredients. Be aware if it's a popular time it's hard to find a place to sit.
Awesome roast pork sandwich. One of the best eating experiences at Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia.
The pork sandwich with provolone and broccoli rabe is the best thing in this market. Period!
Dear lord you have to try their pork sandwich. I agree it’s the best in the world. Eat half finish off the rest with some of their hot sauce and peppers. I mean you can tell it’s all made that day, including where ever they’re getting their Italian bread.
Thank goodness they survived the pandemic. This maybe my favorite place to eat in the country because it takes a special skill make the items on their menu. You can get a great cheesesteak anywhere in the Philly area but a great roast pork sandwich takes time and they are consistently great. Tip: you can have them place your meat in to go containers and bread separately if you're traveling or if you're not eating them right away. 😉
I had time for only one memorable meal while in Philly. A co-worker, who used to live there, suggested the roast pork sandwich at DiNic’s. I gave it a try and really liked the sandwich. It was also a cool experience to eat it in Reading Terminal. There are so many fantastic dining opportunities in Philly. I think I would have rather spent that one meal on a big, gooey cheesesteak.
The meat is tasty and juicy, the bread is soft and warm, a perfect lunch, you must go if you are in Philadelphia.
The real deal!
I met a guy once (who later became a really close friend) that, no matter what subject we would discuss, somehow, he would work the conversation around to a roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. We could be talking about plumbing, or cars, or motorcycles, or the news, or the current President, or airports, or whatever and somehow the next thing I knew, we were talking about eating a roast pork sandwich. Always!
Dinics is an essential stop on the Philadelphia culinary tour. Lots of places do it, but you can count on Dinics to get a proper one and damn good!
Situated in Reading Terminal Market, it is best to get there before say 11:45 and grab a seat at the bar. Order up a roast pork with greens, peppers and cheese (provolone only there) and let the food porn begin!!!
After that, you will understand how conversations like I described above, actually happen.
One of the best sandwich shops in Philly! A sandwich is easy to split with someone too!
Best sandwich i ve ever tried in USA, very nice and very fast in making It. You have ti try italian pork with provolone and broccoli. And Who is telling you this is and italian Who loves italian provolone and broccolis
I love the pork sandwich with provolone and broccoli rabe. Needs the acidity of the peppers and a little salt. Fast service and friendly for Philadelphia.
Roast pork with provolone sandwich is where it's at. Ask for it to have au jous on top. The line is smooth amd unbelievably quick. These guys are super efficient at what they do. I always hit these guys up when I visit Philly.
The sandwiches here are top notch, if you’re ever in the terminal give this place a try!
Home of the best sandwich in Philly, maybe even the entire east coast. Roast pork w/ provolone and roasted peppers. If you eat food, you'll want to eat here.
1st time and had the roasted pork with sharp provolone and greens. Excellent sandwich.
The roast pork is in truth the real best Philly sandwich, and this place is the one. Like mine with sharp provolone and garlic broccoli rabe but plenty of options to make it your own. Expect a line but the staff works fast and efficiently. Must try for anyone visiting the area who wants to get locally famous and beloved food.
I tried after reading about it and because is famous in Reading, but honestly only the fast service makes this one stand out from other pork places in Philly. I think that there are better sandwich places in Reading terminal.
So we did DiNic’s on one day and Sonney’s the next. DiNic’s has amazing rolls and their meat is superb; they are all about honoring the meat, so if you are looking for an amazing meat sandwich we highly recommend. Go to Sonney’s if you want the cheesesteak experience.
One of the best roast pork & beef sandwiches in the area. Locals love it.
Wow - get the pork, cheese, and broccoli rabe!
Come on, it's DiNic's. Best damn pork sandwiches on the planet.
Excellent market where you can find a lot of food. We found this restaurant or fast food br it was amazing the sandwich.
Gotta give it a 5. Roasted pork sandwich with cheese and greens. Pork was tender and crusty, enough juice on a chewy rolls to be perfect, very sharp aged provolone gave it almost a horseradish flair and the garlicky broccoli rabe was a perfect crunch. Highly recommended.
It was a GREAT experience. For a sandwich made so quickly, it was likely the best I've ever had. With that said, I cannot call this the best pork sandwich ever...just the best mass produced version. Yes, it was great. I love HOT peppers but the hot peppers with seeds were a little overpowering for the sandwich. If the seeds were removed then they would have been perfect. The bread was ho-hum. If toasted and fresh it would have been much better. I loved the experience but don't expect a 5-star restaurant quality experience. Go there for the absolute best combination of experience and quickly served roast pork sandwich that you'll ever have. Yes, I'd go back but there are also a number of other places in reading terminal market that I'd try before going back. That's a shout out to the terminal restaurants, and not a dig on Dinic's.
You can't be in downtown center City or Reading Terminal without stopping for a great sandwich at DiNic's. Was introduced to this place and their famous pork sandwich almost 25 years ago by a dear friend who moved to Philly. Order it with real provolone and chopped broccoli rabe, and/or peppers. Served on a soft roll with a little ladlefull of pork juice...ahhh! So delicious! Wish I had one right now. Beef brisket is awesome too, so why not get one of each?
It was good. But not what I expected based on all the great reviews I read. The meat was juicy, but a little watery. Still good!
We arrived at Reading Terminal Market during lunch and spent several hours wandering past all of the stalls. We stopped at Dinic's for roast pork sandwiches. Mine was with the sharp provolone that makes these sandwiched so good. My dining partner had theirs with roasted peppers. Both were excellent.
I have come to prefer the roast pork sandwich to it's much better known counterpart - the Philly cheese steak sandwich. You do not find it at as many places as the cheese steak, but when you do it is usually very good.
If you have never had a Philly roast pork sandwich I recommend Dinic's at Reading Terminal Market as a good place to start.
Good sandwich overall but I felt the broccoli greens completely overpowers the brisket I had on the sandwich. Overall it was good, but I would've definitely wanted to spend the money elsewhere here. I also recommend you eat it asap, because the watery-ness of the greens makes the bread quite soggy.
The sandwiches are inconsistent. First time since Covid and wasn’t that good. Not horrible but I wasn’t expecting that sandwich I received. I ordered the roasted pork with sharp provolone and roasted peppers. The peppers had no taste (seemed like they boiled green peppers in water) and the cheese was very little. The meat was kind of dry. I’ve had the pork sandwich a few times here and it can be pretty good to average. It’s probably going to be awhile for me until I try their sandwiches again.
Went for the roast pork and was not disappointed. This is my second time and I have to say that they make the best roast pork in Philadelphia. Always get the provolone and rabe.
The price used to be better but I guess they had to raise the prices to meet quality and demand.
Getting a seat may be hard at peak hours and weekends but it is definitely the best to sit down and enjoy it as soon as possible. When its cold the taste does suffer but this is a sandwich best served hot.
Yum, yum, yum! Crowded Saturday afternoon, but they've got this down. Service was quick and efficient. Pork with provolone and rabe was astounding. Rabe had nice garlic and horseradish taste. Pork was moist. The provolone was nice and sharp. The rolls are fresh and tasty. The hubs got the prok, provolone and hot peppers - also delish (but I'm partial to rabe, so I think I chose better.) A wonderful Philly tradition.
Just delicious food
Juicy meat, really flavorful but still had a light taste to it
Easy to find
Staffs were friendly
Fast Service
Loved the sandwiches. Although they were sold out on most of the varieties( my bad since i went there before closing time). But the sandwiches are very filling and tasty for the price. Don’t forget to try the italian sausage sandwich with roasted peppers
I brought my dad down here for the auto show and told him we had to stop at DiNic's. We got there at 11 am on a Wednesday and slid in to two seats pretty easily. I got the Italian style pork sandwich with sharp provolone and spinach. My dad got the roast beef with the provolone. They were amazing! The perfect lunch before heading over to the convention center. The server was also really quick and nice, too.
Pork sub was named best in America for a reason. Try one with all the toppings and try to disagree!
Awesome roast pork sandwiches. Not overly fatty and flavorful. Worth the money
Great sandwiches. Bread was soft with a decent bite. The brisket sandwich was superb, with added provolone cheese and roasted sweet peppers. And the pork sandwich was nearly its equal. The servers were friendly and helpful. Great spot!
The Italian Pulled Pork sandwich is delicious. A generous serving of tender, juicy pulled pork served on a long, fresh seeded roll. The staff is friendly, the service is prompt and the food always good.
I came here to try the pork sandwich. I was not disappointed. The broccoli rabe and sharp prov compliment the pork well. I will say, while the sandwich was great, it did not beat the classic Philly cheese steak in my opinion. I know people probably are looking at me like I'm nuts now. But as far as the pork goes, it was missing something. After adding horseradish and banana peppers it was amazing and it felt like it should the default toppings. But as a standalone sandwich it feels incomplete. The cheese steak to me feels like a more complete experience. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely make my way back out to have more pork sandwiches. I just might not be able to leave philly without a cheese steak before I go.
Their roast pork with broccoli rabe is truly one of the best options, not just at RTM, but in the whole city. That sandwich alone is worth the visit. My only regret is not getting two. Delicious.
Dinic's along with John's roast pork in South Philly are by far my two favorite roast pork sandwiches in the Philadelphia area. Me and a friend split the roast pork and roast beef and they were both outstanding. I've been there several times and And I've never been disappointed.
Been to this place almost 2 years ago, but I can still remember the taste of the roast pork sandwich. I had read so much about the sandwich and had gone there with so much expectations.
The sandwich smelled very good, but I didn't like the taste of it for the first 2 bites. But then it started to grow on me.
I can still remember how the aftertaste was heavenly.
I had the roast pork with provolone and broccoli. The sandwich was good, prepared very quickly and definitely American-sized. My only complaint was that most of the (sharp and quite good) provolone was in the bread's "pocket", so you would get some bites with no cheese and others with quite a bit.
I have made the trip from RVA to Philly just for a DiNics roasted pork sandwich. Top 5 in the US. Always worth the trip. Consistently good, with great service & a staff that understands the weight of customer expectations & always delivers…
There is a reason why the roast pork was voted "best sandwich in America". Honestly, it's so friggin' good...the bread, the rabe, and obviously the pork. But the real reason this sandwich is so good? They don't skimp on the quality of the sharp provolone. The provolone alone brings this sandwich from an 8.5 to a 10.
Absolutely incredible pork... The quality of the pork sandwich with provolone and broccoli Rabe is hard to beat, even up against the best cheesesteak makers in Philly. Definitely a top 5 sandwich in the city.
I went there with my family. This place supposedly has really good pork, but I ordered a Philly cheese steak instead. I am sorry to say that it isn't their best dish. It was way too dry and I desperately needed a Sprite soon after. However, I would like to say that they had great service. If you have ever been to In N Out, you can imagine a similar degree of service!
When you have the "best sandwich in America" and have a 50 person line, the sandwich better be really good. Of course it was decent but I was completely underwhelmed. The bread was standard and not that soft and the pork was very very average. I thought their specialty was pork but it wasn't flavorful or very different in taste from something you'd get from a grocery store deli. I'm glad I added cheese otherwise it would have been unbearably dry. Save yourself the time and eat at the other dozens of places at the RTM.
Great sandwich! It’s on the drier side, but delicious
One of my favorite sandwiches in Philly. If going with other people, I recommend ordering all of the different sandwiches and splitting.
Definitely a great place, I tried the roast pork with broccoli rabe, it was surprisingly spicy. Not my favorite sandwhich but definitely I could see myself getting occasionally.
$9.50-$11.50 per sandwich (roast pork, pulled pork, sausage, roast beef, or beef brisket), plus $1 per topping (cheese or greens), enough food for two. Roast pork, broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone sandwich is very good, but I wish there was a gravy or sauce to add even if that's not traditional - it's just missing something. Friendly staff, fast workers, always busy and crowded.
I went here twice during a recent trip to Philly. The Roast Pork with Sharp Provolone and Broccoli Rabe was good, but I do wish it had more juice on it. I made the mistake of ordering it normal the first time and I could tell the sandwich would be great with more broth, the parts of the sandwich that were saturated in the broth were amazing but the rest was fairly dry and underwhelming. So I went a second time and ordered it wet, but they must not have relayed my order correctly because once again, the sandwich was fairly dry except in a few spots. I know if this was served with a side of broth to dip it in like a french dip it would be amazing. As is, if you don't get it wet, it's not really worth $10 per sandwich in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and order it wet and cross your fingers and hope they get the order right.
I love the sharp provolone here, it really makes the sandwich for me. The sandwich is also pretty big. So big that it’s tough to get other food afterward! This is a Philadelphia favorite and should be experienced by anyone who visits year round!
Located inside the Reading Terminal Market, this place has the best roast pork. I got this sandwich and added sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. You can find a nice seat on the counter and they get you your sandwich pretty fast. It's a good size too; I split one with someone and it kept me full for lunch. Very friendly people behind the counter!
Was in today and will always be coming back. Great sandwich with plenty of meat! Always go with Sharp Provolone on my roast pork... can't beat the way it all melds together or the soft yet crunchy roll. A Philly classic!
Made a mistake of not ordering any toppings and ended up with just roast pork sandwich. Maybe it would have tasted better had I added the toppings?
Awesome sandwiches. Long line but goes FAST! You have to try the Roasted Pork!
Cash only! One of the best pork sandwich I've had! The broccoli rabe is very well prepped, and it masked the bitterness very well. I highly recommend getting cheese and pepper with the sandwich (if you want to skip the carb, you can also request a bun-free version). Get here early though - they get really busy by lunch hour. Their brisket sandwich is served starting at 11 am on weekends, and runs out REAL quick!
From top to bottom, each ingredient compliments the other. The slow roasted, thinly sliced, juicy pork simply melts in your mouth. The extra au jus soaks up well in the bread and the star of the show has got to be the sharp provolone cheese in every bite. The broccoli rabe adds the perfect balance to the savory and saltiness of the sandwich. I can totally see why this sandwich is more popular amongst the locals over a Philly Cheesesteak. I would easily eat this sandwich over a cheesesteak any day of the week.
Solid Meal, first time going to the market and I loved it. Great experience, definitely recommend the Italian style with cheese and sabe. Reminds me of a Buffalo's beef on weck with horseradish. Very tasty sandwich.
Visited this place for the first time and we were very pleased. Our server, Alex, was so sweet and patient with us as “tourists.” We tried the pork as recommended with the broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. It was amazing! Very different than anything we’ve had before. Alex also gave us several great recommendations as to where to eat at other places during our stay. Great experience!
Always a pleasure when I can treat myself to an authentic roast pork with broccoli rabe sandwich at this famous outpost. Grateful my friend and I were able to snag two spots at the counter on a busy Saturday afternoon.
Thinking about that sandwich is making me want another right now!
It's packed, in fact it's downright overly crowded. Good luck finding a spot to sit down to enjoy this staple. But if I had to pick ONE best spot to eat inside Reading Terminal it's Dinic's. The roast pork is juicy and full of marinated flavor and you don't get a soggy roll. This is the best Philadelphia sandwich second to the cheeseteak.
Drove to Philly this past Thursday, 10/22. I had to stop at DiNic’s. Heard so much about it on tv. I ordered the pork sandwich topped with rapini. Excellent sandwich. The roll was very good as well. It was well worth my 200 mile trip. Bought things from other vendors as well. I’m ready to do it again.
Huge sandwiches at reasonable prices. Love the pork with broccoli rabe. The place is a must try if you visit the Philadelphia convention center
really amazing flavor combinations in the storied roast pork and broccoli rabe sammy.
Super friendly service and absolutely delicious Hoagies. Add the broccoli leaves!
My wife and I drove a total of 7 hours just so I could get the Roast Pork Sandwich. This time was even better than the last from 3 years ago. I think I may have to travel every 3 months just to get this sandwich. A sandwich where you dont need to add sauce to it to make it taste good. To bad they dont deliver.
The best sandwich I ever had! Add peppers....
Roast pork with sharp provolone and hot peppers and broccoli rabe is the bomb!
Amazing sandwich. Probably the best in town. While everyone flocks for cheesteaks, those can generally be found all over the country. But this is unique and worthy of a stop.
Super tasty sandwiches. I split a roast pork and a roast beef sandwich and the only thing I would suggest is an easier way to order all the toppings.
Up until 2005 I thought Philadelphia was all Cheesesteaks. Boy was I wrong. Before I was even yelping I heard grumblings of 1 sandwich to rule them all. My first trip to Reading Terminal Market had me preaching that very bold statement. 3 trips to Philly and this was my first Roast Pork. They may sell more cheesesteaks in Philly and yes you can get decent one’s all over the country, but I have never had a roast pork like Dinic’s. I’m only writing this after a few more trips to try the competition.
The best sandwich in American.
A few things you should know is that if you plan to go here now the service was WAY better in years past and the lines not as long, but they move quickly, not fast, but quick. Had I written this review 8 years ago there would have been nothing bad to say about it, but with more insight I can say it’s a delicious sandwich. The best of it’s kind and the best in America, but with prices going up, lines getting longer, service slipping and the sandwich builds getting sloppier I have to admit I’ll only get 1 per trip and not on the way in and out of town.
The slow roast pork has simple seasonings, sliced thin after a long rest. The broccoli rab is nice and bitter. For those spinach lovers who have never had broccoli rab your in for a surprised, it’s much more full, much more bold and nuttier. The sharp provolone is great, I actually like extra on mine. It’s a bit like hand crumbled bleu cheese in that there isn’t uniformity in pieces. The roll is somewhat soft, but good crust and it holds up to the meat being heated in the jus before serving. The garlic aftertaste is comforting. The Brisket is kind of bland (glad I shared it), roast beef is also excellent like the pork, but get the peppers, shaved thin, but needs horseradish only works on the beef and not the pork.
Italian sausage is fresh, but overpowered by the fennel taste. I wish I had more pepper or some countering taste in the sausage itself. I’ll take an authentic brat over an authentic Italian sausage. Meatballs are large, but tastes more like meatloaf. The breads are standard across the board. The sauce could be real ragu to take it above.
It’s a must stop, it’s a superb sandwich. The Roast Pork is amazing, still the best in the only city you can really get it, but I have to admit it’s stock is falling.
Great roast pork and beef sandwiches in the hustle and bustle atmosphere of Reading Terminal Market. The roast pork is delicious and goes great with sharp provolone. They have a varying list of other fixins from broccoli rab to kale to roasted peppers. Usually a line but they are super efficient at taking your order, payment, and getting your food. They do take credit cards, regardless of what other reviewers have said. Will definitely becoming back to try their other items. Next up, Italian style pulled pork. Seating can be a challenge throughout the market and near impossible at peak hours.
Very friendly, quick service, and delicious sandwiches. I’d definitely come back here next time I’m in Philly.
I already knew of their tremendous brisket of beef, but their meatballs are a revelation as well. The ironic thing is that the most famous sandwich they have, the roast pork might be their least tasty food. And it is mighty good.,
DiNic’s roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and provolone is absolute perfection and this restarant is category defining. The hype is real and please I beg you go here if you’re in the area.
I visited this place a few times during my work trip to Philadelphia. Conveniently located inside the Reading Terminal Market, it's the best place to grab some lunch after walking around the market. The place itself isn't big, and you only have a few counter seats if you want to eat on the spot. People usually buy for takeaway and all the time I've been there, the line has always been long. Always try to get there as early as you can. Don't bother coming there after work hours because they're probably already sold out by then.
Their main specialty is their Pork Sandwich. Succulent pork meat served on a french roll, with provolone cheese, broccoli rabe and sweet peppers. Wow my mouth was just drooling after typing all that. You think the best thing in Philadelphia is their Philly Cheese Steak? Not anymore. Even the great Anthony Bourdain visited this place and he loved it.
Delectable Roast Beef on a roll w Gravy ,made to perfection tendor ,thanks
They make the best work sandwiches that I've ever had, Adam even said so on Man vs Food. Their sandwiches are so tasty and delicious, perfect combination of au jus, pork, and broccoli crab. They also have provolone or spinach raab and peppers and so many more sandwiches. The pork sandwich is so good I cant try anything else, yet.
Their roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe is unrivaled in Philly. Much better than any cheese steak I've ever had. If you're getting one sandwich in Philly, go here.
I was prepared to be underwhelmed because of the hype, but the quality and portions won me over. The best part of the roast pork was the spicy and garlic-filled broccoli rabe. Big enough that you can eat half and have them wrap the rest for later.
Got the steak sandwich, it was really good. Very authentic place.
The pork with rabe and provolone is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I try to get at least one every time I’m in Philly.
Wasn't overly impressed after reading such great things. Went with the roast pork, rabe and provolone as described in articles proclaiming it "best sandwich in America" and ended up disappointed. I was shocked the pork didn't have more flavor and didn't much care for the broccoli rabe as a counterpoint to anything else in the sandwich even as someone who has enjoyed the bitter spiciness of rabe in the past. I should've gone with my gut and got Italian pork or beef and peppers but figured I had to try this combo while in town. I cant say for sure, but I would recommend ordering what your gut tells you rather than this combo if you aren't that adventurous.
No reason to give a review like a tourist it’s always this good always ! Forget about it !
!,,
This is one of my favorite food stalls in Reading Terminal Market. They have hoagies with high quality meat. My favorite sandwich is the roast pork with broccoli rabe (greens) and provolone cheese. The meat is flavorful and they give you a generous portion of it. The broccoli rabe is fresh and goes well with the fatty meat and cheese. The roast beef is good as well but I feel like the roast pork is juicier and tastier. This is always one of my first stops when I'm in Philadelphia.
On a busy day at the Terminal, you can walk through the area and know for sure that there is a line here at Tommy DiNic's. Many people come here to get their staple sandwich, the roast pork!
The line can wrap around the stand sometimes, but I feel the line moves at a decent speed. A tip I'll give to people is that if you are either by yourself or a very small group (2 to 3 people) and have the time, try to just get a seat at the stand itself and get served that way. If you are lucky enough, you can then bypass the long line and just order from the other server taking care of the people sitting down.
I will agree to say that their roast pork is the best thing I've had on their menu. I get my roast pork with sharp provolone and either spinach or broccoli rabe. The more popular option seems to be broccoli rabe, but I enjoy having the spinach in the sandwich as well.
This place is no frills place, so just come here to eat and you'll be fine!
Took the advice of other reviews and got the roast pork sandwich with provolone and rabe. It was an orgy in my mouth. Meat was tender and juicy. Provolone was best I've ever had. Rabe complimented with a bitter quality. If there is a downside to this sandwich, it's the extreme juiciness. Get plenty of napkins!!!
If your in or around the Reading Terminal Marketyou have to try the amazing DiNic's roast post sandwich.!!! I prefer mine with the Sauteed spinach on it while you can also get the broccoli rabe if your taste prefers that...the uber sharp provelone with the awesome flavor of the pork and a tad of the pork jus on it with the green of your choice is taste bud blowing..!!! This place is always busy for a reason, but that should never discourage you as the line really does move super quick...while there are so many food choices in the market, you really should indulge in this really great tasting sandwich.!! for what you get for the price you can't go wrong.!!!
Stopped by the reading terminal market for lunch and was not disappointed. Dinic's pork sandwich was delicious. I recomend getting the the provolone it was awesome with the slow roasted pork and sweet peppers. So much good food the choose from in the market, but dinic's sets the bar high.
Best Roast Beef Sandwich I ever had.
Hands down best place we ate in Philly! Better than Pat’s cheesesteaks (by far)! The flavors in their meats/sandwiches were so much better than your average barbecue or sandwich shop. We look forward to the day we return to Dinics!
For me this is a Star in the Reading Terminal. The lines here are at least three times longer than its next most popular stall. The sandwiches are juicy, large, and awesome. The roast pork, broccoli rabe and sharp provolone dunked in the Au jus is the best thing to get here. They make their roasts in house and you can see them slicing the meat when they make the subs.
I'm planning a trip back to reading terminal just for this one stall.
I was told by several locals that I just had to try a Dinic's roast pork sandwich. The line was very long and the roast pork looked delicious. I was expecting amazing but got mediocre. The pork was bland and wasn't seasoned. The provalone was sharp and dominated the rest of the flavor. The rabb left an acrid aftertaste. It was a good sized sandwich and filled me up, but it wasn't anything special.
I saw this place on man vs. Food and figured I'd give it a try. The pork sandwich with provolone and broccoli rabe might have been one of the best sandwiches I've tasted; and I work in nyc and always try to seek out a great sandwich. The bread was nice and beautifully absorbed the gravy. The shaved provolone had a little bite and the rabe added distinction and a beautifully clean taste. The line wrapped around the store and you have the torturous task of watching people sit on the stools eating; which pretty much drives you nuts. It did, however move fast enough. My wife also agreed that this sandwich was one of the best. She is generally very picky. Enjoy!
After my second Roast Pork from DiNic’s, I’m willing to make the bold claim that this sandwich is better than a cheesesteak. You’l have to combat a lengthy line at pretty much any time of day inside the market, but it’s worth it for this sandwich. Make sure to get sharp provolone and greens (broccoli rabe) for the most flavor. The pork is slow roasted to perfection and incredibly well seasoned. The cheese binds everything together and the bread is fresh baked and fluffy. Make sure not to miss the beautiful pork on display at the counter. Grab a seat if you can, but the line moves pretty fast.
Dinic's has got to be the best sandwich at the Reading Terminal Market. The line and enthusiasm of the people prove it. Stand next to anyone and strike up a conversation. They will tell you how good it is. Get a roast pork and broccoli rabe. The meat is juicy. It's a messy sandwich to eat but worth it.
Outstanding sandwiches. The Italian roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone is top notch. That said their meatball hero is awesome as well. Really xant go wrong at all here.
There's always a line but it moves. I always get the Roast pork and always fresh and tasty. The pork is soft , tender and hot
Every time I stop in Philadelphia I must stop at DiNic's to have a roasted pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. You will never be disappointed! This sandwich goes good with a Wawa iced tea.
In my opinion, the third-best Roast Pork sandwich in the city (that is a compliment)! This is my go-to lunch spot in Reading Terminal Market. It, like the rest of RTM can get pretty busy and seating can be scarce, but it's worth the wait. Be sure to add Broccoli Rabe to you Roast Pork, but I personally skip the cheese.
Awesome place. Best damn sandwich in Philly.
I've been here one year ago and had a roast pork sandwich. Today, I had a brisket sandwich. In both of them I added cheese and roasted peppers. I definitely recommend these options, these sandwiches are delicious!
Delicious sandwich for 10 bucks. A must try for any visitors to Philadelphia. I recommend getting it with broccoli rabe and provolone. Prepare to wait on line at peak times, but not more than 15 minutes or so. It's good enough that, last time I was in Philly, I wasn't able to fit a Philly cheesesteak into my eating schedule, but I did have a sandwich from Dinic's.
Had the meatballs with sharp provolone. My father had the pulled pork with provolone and peppers and my husband had the brisket with provolone and peppers each was deliciously flavored and just melted in your mouth. I would eat this all the time if I lived here.
No trip to the Reading Terminal Market is complete without stopping at Dinic's.
They have THE BEST Italian Pork sandwich...
If you don't get there early, be prepared to wait. But make sure you DO wait because it will definitely be worth your time!
This place has great roast pork sandwiches with broccoli raab, but they also have other solid sandwiches. This spot is in the Redding Terminal
This place has the best pork sandwiches I've ever had in my life. Seriously. Whenever I am in Redding Terminal Market (or even close) I just find my feet on autopilot strangely guiding me to Dinic's. The people are awesome just like the food; try to come in-between lunch and dinner rush and you get a vibe that it's a tight crew. If I knew I had a last meal on this Earth, Dinic's would be a serious consideration. A serious philly staple: its food for the soul.
One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. That cheese is amazing. I got it without the greens. Yum!! So good!
On our road trip to Philly, I recommended to my boyfriend that we stop at DiNic's for our first meal. We walked from our hotel to Reading Terminal Market. Immediately upon entering the market, we both were in awe over all the different and numerous things we could eat. Nonetheless, we headed straight for DiNic's, which had a line that wrapped over to the soul food seating area.
The line moved pretty quickly though and we both ordered roast pork sandwiches with sharp provolone and broccoli rabé. Luckily, we managed to snatch two seats at the counter and devoured the sandwiches right there and then. It was so good. The pork was juicy, the bread held up well and soaked the juices nicely, and the greens paired very well with the pork, cheese, and bread. It was perfection in a sandwich.
I couldn't finish my sandwich so I wrapped the other half and took it back to the hotel for a midnight snack. Even hours later, the sandwich tasted delicious. Highly recommend DiNic's to anyone who visits Philly.
Ohmyyggaawwwddd, this is hands down the best thing I had in Philly.
When we got to Reading Terminal, I was incredibly stuffed and couldn't imagine eating more. So, we walked around and looked at every single shop to try to work up an appetite. By the time we walked the entire market, Tommy DiNic's had no line and I had the case of FOMO (fear of missing out) so my friend and I shared a roast pork sandwich.
And I am sooooo glad we did - it was delicious! We had roast pork w/ broccoli rabe (no cheese) and it was so perfect in taste and flavor. It didn't taste overly salty or saucey. And in turn, didn't taste super heavy either. I nearly ate the whole half sandwich by myself!
I thought it would be hype because of all the reviews it has but their roast pork sandwich is something I'd eat time and again.
Holy mother of god 5 star sandwich. I really don't need to say much more here. Get the Pulled pork, add some broccoli rabe and sharp provolone and you have heaven on some of the finest bread known to man.
The line moves quick in reading terminal -- its worth the wait either way!! Service is quick and food is delicious .
Def get the roast pork, but with broccoli rabe instead of hot peppers
Best roast pork sandwich with broccoli arabe and provolone.
Outstanding Roasted Pork Sandwich! Friendly staff.
Stellar. Came here five years ago on a visit, it was great then and still is today. Italian pulled pork was wonderful, slightly bitter broccoli rabe pretty awesome complement to the meat. Hope to be back sooner than in five years.
One of Philly's HOT SPOTS! Located in the heart of Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market (across from convention center), Dinics is a family owned sandwich stop. It's my favorite place to grab a sandwich in the city. Famous roast pork prov and broc rabe, with of course extra hot peppers is the way to go. I've eaten everything on their menu. Fantastic all across the board. Servers are extremely efficient and serve hundreds of people daily. Get in before they sell out!!!
The service was excellent. But I wasn't all that impressed with the pork and provolone sandwhich. Roll was very good, the chewy kind you normally find philly. Probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they really wanted a philly experience at the Reading Terminal Market.
The roast pork sandwich hit the spot. The flavor composition was good, and it made for a satisfying meal. The prices are a little high, but this is a very famous restaurant and touristy spot.
Wow, I am pretty sure the roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe was the best sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. My gustatory cortex was not quite equipped to handle the magnitude of tastiness of the stimuli it encountered. My dopamine reward networks exceeded two standard deviations of baseline activation. My brain was on fire and the broccoli rabe was the firewood. My cognition was in overdrive and the pork was the fuel. I recommend this sandwich more than I would recommend myself on a free-response college admissions essay. Please eat this sandwich and bear witness to the self-actualization that follows therewith.
The roast pork sandwich with provolone and broccoli rabe was delicious. Out of the several places I tried in the market this was the best. Next time I’m in Philly I’ll be stopping here.
Visited today with the family and got an Italian Style Pulled Pork with Sharp Provolone and Broccoli Rabe, it was fantastic! Regretting not getting a second one to eat later in the day. A must stop for anyone visiting the Reading Terminal.
This place is a gem!!! Servers are all friendly and nice. Food was fantastic. I can see why they are always sold out. This is my new favorite place in the Market ❤️
Busy the service is fast, the pork was good and with the sharp cheese and peppers made for an unusual combination,
Must try Dinic's famous hogies while visiting Reading market. Eat at the counter or take out, choices of Italian sausage, roast beef, roast pork, pulled pork and meatball hogies. I had roast pork with sauteed brocoli rabe, provolone cheese and hot peppers and it was incredible. Great lunch at fair pricing. Many of food options in the Reading Market, don't pass on this gem!
What a great sandwich. Roast pork with provolone and broccoli rob. I go every time in in town. It's a classic. Great staff too.
Since DiNics didn't want to respond to a pm regarding a VERY unhappy experience sent weeks ago, here it is.
Eating DiNics for close to 40 years.
1st trip here to the new shop just opened.
Bitter freshly cut up hard crunchy peppers added to already simmered broken down peppers.
Hard and crunchy mixed with over cooked broken down peppers. Hard slimy and very bitter.
1st time ever disappointed in a DiNics sandwich ever!!! And a 3 hour drive for a less than great sandwich.
Don't be so cheap and just put cheese on the bottom of the bread. Add it to the top like the other DiNics do.
Best part of the sandwich literally was the bottom half.
We own a very successful food business.
Not to good to just ignore customers issues big or small.
Not one reply back to our message.
Do now we make it public...
You get a 6 out of 10
It was just ok. After all the hype, I thought it would be better. Maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe it's just the difference in food styles from different parts of the country. I got the roast pork with broccoli and cheese. Sandwich was dry, and unless you really like broccoli, it shouldn't be something added to a sandwich...
Based on many reviews this place as one of the the best sandwich shops in all of Philly. Went with a friend to get a sandwich. The sandwich I have to say was ok but far from the amazing reviews I read. Maybe they were having an off day but I wasn't too impressed.
The beef was tender, thin, the bun was soft with a nice light brown flexible but sturdy crust! This sandwich is not complete without the roast peppers! and H Radish!
Award-winning pork sandwich. Stop whatever you're doing and make your way down to Reading Terminal Market downtown and try Di Nic's. I usually get the pork without the bread. The meat is so juicy and mouth-watering, full of flavor!
Had the brisket sandwich with hot peppers, moist and tender with a delightful flavor. best sandwich ever, could hardly fit the one into my belly but still wanted more. I would travel to Philly just to get this one.
Had a short stop at Philadelphia during our Thanksgiving trip, and had to choose between the stereotypical Pat/Geno's Cheesesteak or Dinic's sandwiches in Reading Farmer's Market.... boy, did I chose wisely.
Tucked inside the cozy and lively market, this simple sandwich shop made one of the best sandwiches I've had in the continental US. If you have to pick one, go for the Italian Pulled Pork, topped with broccoli rabe and a drizzle of the pork juices. No condiments, no unnecessary greans. Just flaky hoagie bun, meat, and rabe; and they don't skimp on the meat.
What's even better is that when you're done, walk over to get your crepes desert, or sweet pastries, or fresh roasted coffee from other nearby vendors. Which makes this a winning spot when you're short on time in Philadelphia.
Not worth the hype
Italian style pulled pork with sharp provolone and sweet roasted peppers is my single favorite sandwich in Philly, a city with some amazing sandwiches. It's fantastic.
Forget a cheesesteak!!!! If you're looking for an iconic sandwich in an iconic city "The City of Brotherly Love"!!!! Then run not walk, can't walk then fly to this spot in Reading Terminal Market!!!!!!! I go at least 3-4 times a year!!!!! The roast pork and broccoli rabe with the sharp provolone !!! Mmmmmmm! See you in Philly!
Long lines move fast. Roasted pork with broccoli rabe, and the sharp provolone makes it. Fun bun too. Delicious
I can't go to philly without stopping here! Best Brisket sandwiches I've ever had. Very friendly and fast service! A definite most stop when your in philly!
Oh the Pork Sandwich is something else, the Broccoli Rabe brings that grazed freshness along with the sharp cheese that adds a whole other level to the sandwich. Loved it. I will be jonesing for a visit when im back in Philly.
This was the best sandwich ive ever eaten In my life! Nothing else really to say!
Every time I visit this area of Philly. I got to stop here. Love there roast pork sandwiches. I a sure everything else on the menu is great but I always get the pork
The roast pork with broccolini and prov is a lifetime sandwich. Don’t miss it.
Legendary with good reason. The line can be brutal but the pork is worth it. Go for the works and don't skimp on the toppings. Make sure you come with an empty stomach or a 4000 calorie diet!
Oh this place was so good. The original roast pork sandwich was so amazing along with the roast beef one. Get there early they run out and sell out.
Visited Philly, and tasting the roast pork was a top priority. Was not let down. Make sure to get it with provolone and broccoli rabe!
Roast Pork sandwich, that’s what you get here. Roasted pork, broccoli rabe and provolone cheese on a Sarcone Bakery roll.
Outstanding sandwiches. Have tried several; all were excellent.
Fresh rolls. Tender and flavorful pork. Yum! A perfect sandwich. I always get the best sandwich in America.
Yummy. The sandwiches are absolutely loaded with meat. Get the greens with your sandwich because the bitter freshness of the broccoli cuts through the heaviness of the meat
Let’s break this awesome sandwich down.
The rolls are great.
Broccoli rabe is really tasty.
The meat and cooked perfectly. Tender and delicious.
Do not miss this spot in the reading terminal market.
Warning the line can get pretty long, but they are quick!
Love this place. Whenever I am in Philadelphia, I try to make sure to stop at the Reading Terminal market to get a pulled pork sandwich. I even make sure to bring one home for the husband if he isn't with me.
As seen on TV. It's a mediocre sandwich. Your tourist trap. Best cheesesteak or roast pork sandwich spot to me would be johnny roast pork of Snyder near Columbus ave
Came late and was still crowded. Staff was amazing and super friendly. The pork sandwich was just as good as it was years ago when I first came. Only negative is the wait to get a seat, they need to expand.
The roast pork sandwich was awesome. The ham , sharp provolone and broccoli rabe were an awesome blend !
some of the best sandwiches in Philadelphia made here. Personal favorite: hand carved pulled pork with rabe, long hots & sharp provolone 😛 …
Rost Pork with Provolone and Broccoli Rabe = Best Sandwich Ever..........even if the line is long...do not worry....they do an awesome job with line control........not a lot of seating at Reading Terminal
They are known for their pork sandwich and I see why. Great sandwich piled high with juicy pork and other toppings. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the market.
The pork roast roll with broccoli rabe and provolone cheese was really good! First time in Philly from Oz and really glad we tried this place.
Mind blowing sandwich. Perhaps last meal worthy.
A M A Z I N G! Philly is not just about cheese steaks. Roast pork & rabe awesome! So is the brisket. I make sure to visit whenever in town.
If cheesesteak’s aren’t your thing, the roast pork sandwiches here might be the best sandwich in Philadelphia. Broccoli rabe and sharp provolone, forget about it.
The roast beef with broccoli rabe was good, but the roast pork was a bit dry and bland.
It's just a great experience to go to the market!!
I tried Dinic’s on Sunday there was a long line the service was very fast and the sandwich was worth the wait. Very reasonably priced considering it is in the reading terminal market. The only trouble is seating it is a very crowded market so you have to wait for seating!
The pork sandwich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe was one of the most amazing sandwiches I have ever eaten. Highly recommended!
Dinic's is the place for roast pork sandwiches. Great bread, sharp cheese, hot pepper and you've got a sandwich that you can share it is so big and stuffed.
Great sandwiches, need to go early they run out of certain items like meatballs etc. Very popular for good reason.
Solid sandwiches - but not 5 stars. Pork is good but dare I say it, almost a bit bland. Especially considering what else is available in Redding Terminal. I say keep exploring.
Huh! Great food on a roll. I don't regularly eat pork, actually I eat only when my mom makes it couple of times in a year, but these pork sandwiches are awesome :)
Delicious roast pork sandwich. One of the select few restaurants in the market with its own seating. Service was friendly and fast.
More awesome food at Reading terminal market. Stand in line, shout my order, wait for a table to free up. And the pork sandwich is worth it.
Classic Philly Spot with delicious sandwiches. Get the roast pork and you won’t be disappointed. Add broccoli rabe.
Great food and quick service.
Awesome pork and broccoli sandwich! This is a must eat.
Oh my dear lord the sandwiches here are insane, we had the roast pork and shared one between the two of us as they are huge, and the meat comes soaked in gravy so that is so soft. Go go go!
There's something about the pork, broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone sandwich that is mind-blowing! The combination of those flavors is like nothing I've ever tasted before.
My go-to spot at the Reading Terminal Market in Philly for the BEST SANDWICH EVER(and no, it's not a cheesesteak), DiNic's Roast Pork!
The best sandwich ever. I make the trip to Philly every other month or so just for these sandwiches
Ok, Reading Terminal Market is tourist ground zero, but I am willing to wait in line to get Dinic's roast pork sandwich. It's that good.
The roast pork sandwiches is one of the best sandwiches you can eat. The roast beef is delicious as well
As much as Philadelphia is know for the Cheese Steak, the Pork Roast sandwich with broccoli rabe and provolone cheese is the best sandwich!!!
Best sandwich in America according to some. That may be an overstatement but the roast pork and roast beef sandwiches are outstanding.
Great pulled pork and beef rolls!
I tried a Philly when I visited here but Dinic's roast pork sandwich topped any cheesesteak I had. The staff showed really prompt, fast, but still respectful service.
Favorite sandwich in a city of great sandwiches. Very friendly too. Love how the lady behind the register calls everybody “hon” - so sweet.
My first experience here and it was amazing. I read it was a must and it is a MUST when visiting Reading T. Market.
Great spot a friend put me on to. My wife is still shocked at how their whole operation runs soo smoothly. We're very impressed with food quality and service. Worth hitting up, no matter how long the line is.
This was a mis match of juicing pork, sharp provolone, broccolirab, dipped in the pork drippings.
It was to die for. My only regret is I didn’t eat two
Loved the Italian Pulled Pork Sandwich!! It is quite big so I could only eat 1/2 at a time.
Broccoli rabe adds a great bite to the pork sandwiches!
What more can I say but that the sandwiches speak for themselves! Service is quick and you'll be eating with a smile on your face before you know it!
Go very early. Order more than 1 sandwich if they allow you. You’ll thank me later. Lol 😂 …
Not bad..but make sure and check your order before you walk away I ordered The pork with provolone, and broccoli rabe...I left and when I began to eat it I realize that I had no cheese..I was very disappointed..I traveled far for it so I'm not very happy..but..still not a bad sandwich
I had this sandwich for the first time this morning and it was awesome! The market is a great experience and this sandwich was the highlight of my trip to Philly.
a little overcrowded, good sandwiches but i had better philly's at other famous places like tony luke's for example
Local friend recommended the roast pork w/ broccoli rabe and provolone sandwich, sadly I found it underwhelming. Too simple and bland for my taste.
Had my first roast pork sandwich today.I had read all the good reviews online. My sandwich was good, not the best in the world but it was good.Service was quick even with a line.
The service is fast, the meat is juicy and flavorful, and the people are nice. There isn't anything bad to say about Dinics except that it's 40 minutes from my house!
Real deal roast pork sandwich. I came to Philly for cheesesteak, but left thinking about one of these little devils. Eat this.
Maybe I expected too much, but I was not impressed by the roast pork sandwich I ate. I have had better pork sandwiches elsewhere.
It's good but nothing exciting, and pricey for a simple sandwich with just meat, and the service is not that good either, the waitress is rude with everyone... If I didn't read all the good reviews I wouldn't have come here.
Amazing Sandwich!! Brisket, with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe with hot peppers on fresh italian bread...very tasty
Great pulled pork sandwich, well worth the wait. The queue moves fairly quickly anyway & it let's you spot a seat at the bar being vacated...
For a sandwich in general, the roast pork was ok. For a pork sandwich, their roast pork was good. Over-hyped.
Dont be intimidated by long lines it moves quick! My favorite is the Italian sausage and pulled pork if it’s available!
Had the roast pork and it's pretty good with the broccoli. My only roast pork so I have nothing to compare it to
There's little to be said about this place except that you better be ready to wait in a long line, because the food is absolutely amazing. Get the roast pork sandwich and enjoy food at its finest.
The roast pork with greens changed my life forever. Best sandwich you will ever eat.
The Italian seasoned pork sandwich with broccoli rabe is amazing. Highly recommend it.
I don't get the hype
Best roast pork sandwich in Philadelphia. Get it with broccoli rabe and provolone cheese.
Awesome sandwiches. Don't pass it buy. Try the roast pork broccoli rabe!!!!
Roast pork, broccoli rabb, sharp provolone, and long hots...damn! Best sandwich in Philadelphia.
Don't be intimidated by the long line. It moves quickly and waiting for you at the end is an incredible Italian pulled pork sandwich with sharp provolone and hot peppers
Pork sandwich is legendary. And should be. Best I've ever had.
Ignore any bad reviews here. This is the real deal. Get the the roast pork! You will not be dissappointed. Long lines are not their fault..its just that so many people love this place.
The BEST SANDWICH possibly ever.
Been here Hundreds of times and every time it was incredible but today the Roast Pork didnt taste the same. I hope it doesnt happen again or I wont be back😥 …
Service was extremely quick for how long the line was. Roast beef was delicious with provolone & sautéed garlic spinach.
Un-freakin-real. And the market it’s located in is insanely awesome. First time in Philly, couldn’t believe this place existed
Waited in line for maybe 40 minutes or so, let me tell you I would have waited longer! The roast pork sandwich is awesome!
If I Could I'd Give Dinic's More Stars I Absolutely Would!! Never, Ever Disappointed with the Food...Now the Lines are a Different Story, But Go Enjoy!!
Roast beef with everything. Add a little horseradish and it's perfection. Quick service. Don't be afraid of the line.
A bloody good sandwich. The roast pork sandwich is a must have! A nice, cheap, good eat.
Ordered pork, rabe, provolone...great sandwich. Real deal, not a tourist trap.
Pork-amazing flavor! would give it 5 because its not the best I have ever had but it would probably be a 5 for most!
Rated the best sandwich
Roast pork Broccoli Raab, Shredded provolone
Love this place so much it's so good everytime we go to Philly we stop here and get a bunch of sandwiches for the family.
Roast Pork Sammich for breakfast - yes please! no wait, huge sandwich and good eye candy - overall pretty awesome
Please visit the Reading Terminal to enjoy the entire space. Dinic's is known for their beef and pork sandwiches. Enjoy!
All the sandwiches were amazing here.
I'll always visit here whenever I visit Philadelphia from now on!
Solid sandwich, fast service, fair prices.
Good roast pork, sometimes tends to be a little dry
Awesome! Better than the cheese wiz cheesesteaks I was expecting! Try a beef with provolone and hot roasted peppers, delicious!
