Reviews of John's Roast Pork
Thomas Bell
Let me tell you how I've been to John's Roast Pork in the past but I only ordered the Roast Pork sandwich (which was awesome). This time I ordered the cheese steak which I have to say moved this place to the top of my list! Packed to the max, with thin cut rib steak! The line may be long but it is worth the wait! Enjoy!
Justin Toro
Best pork sandwich in the city. Hands down. Get the works with garlicy spinach and sharp provolone. Get here early for lunch like 11:45 or earlier to avoid the lunch rush even on weekdays. People will treck it here because it's that good. You don't want to get stuck behind a long office lunch order. Pork sandwiches are served very quickly and cheese steaks take a bit longer. I also got onion rings and they are crisp and flavorful.

Guidebooks will point you to Pat's or Geno's for the best cheesesteak sandwich, but many locals tell you to go to John's Roast Pork. In South Philly near the Delaware River, city views are offered with your food.
With breakfast all day and many sandwiches on the menu, if it's your first time, get the standard cheesesteak sandwich with American cheese. It comes out hot with melted cheese perfectly even through the meat. It's very tasty! So much that the James Beard Foundation gave it a nod years back.
Being a Philly institution since 1930, they sell Pepsi products.
If you go for lunch, expect to wait 20 minutes or so for your food, but it's worth the wait. Outdoor seating is in the back.

We had to try the famous roast pork and a cheese steak too since there offering is also rising in popularity. The roast pork was really good, but doesn't come with the spinach or dipped , so remember to ask and be prepared to pay extra for that. The cheese steak was delicious, plenty of wiz and chopped but not minced so the texture was really good. Sesame seed rolls were Perfect!

Cheesy, meaty goodness - well worth the stop & the wait. I had a large cheesesteak - the sesame seed roll was stuffed with plenty of meat & cheese so a half was able to fill me up (with the other half to enjoy later!). Cash only & no indoor seating, though the outside seating (only a few tables) were in the shade.

The place is very small but the food is very delicious. We ordered the pork and the cheesesteak sandwiches large size but the cheesesteak wins 1 million times
The cheesesteak is the signature dish
The onion rings were very oily I do not recommend unless you want a stomachache.
But so worth to eat here. The wait it’s not long.

Absolutely fantastic sandwiches there. The roast pork is delicious and well seasoned. The cheesesteak was phenomenal as well. The bread is absolutely fantastic and we saw a fresh delivery of it being made. Every time I've gone there's been a line, but it moves reasonably quickly considering. Absolutely one of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had and the roast pork is one of the best sandwiches period.

We got both the Classic Pork Sandwich and a Cheese Steak. Both were amazing. The Philly Cheese Steak was overflowing with the grilled beef. The pork sandwich was seasoned well and juicy. Both were about a foot long and delicious. Don't skip on the onion rings or the poppers they were good as well. We didn't take any pictures of the food bc as soon as we got the sandwiches they were gone it was that good.

Having grown up in Philly, I always check out different cheesesteak spots when I come back for a visit. I’ve been hearing John’s talked about for years as the best in the city. On my way to the airport I had to check it out, I can confirm that this is the best cheesesteak I have ever had. Roll has the perfect chew, beef is well seasoned with great flavor, perfectly melted cheese…..it hits all the marks. 10/10

Average cheesesteak. It was my first time going, so maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Fairly dry sandwich that seemed to lack flavor. After hearing all the great reviews about this place, I was pretty disappointed.

Decent food, but wasn’t what it was hyped up to be. Still worth a try. A decent wait time too, about 20 minutes which is understandable considering the line. Would recommend parking across the street as parking is limited.
Heather Upton
John's is where its at for sammies! We had their cheese steak with American cheese (they don't do whiz, just so you know) with grilled onions - they grill it all together so you don't get pieces without all the flavors. But their pork sammie is the BEST. Order it with sharp provolone and spinach! We got the long hots on the side, it was simply amazing! And BONUS! John, the owner, came out to chat with us and gave us t-shirts! He is reallu down to earth and really generous.
Khek Dengmanivanh
Ordered way too much food. The cheesesteak was awesome. The bread was phenomenal. My son had the roast pork and tore it up!!!

Johns is one of the Best Philly places for Roast pork. They remolded since ive last been here, so now you stay outside, better for the employees since covid hit. If you Love Roast pork, you have to try this place. You won't be disappointed.

Omg…..this was truly a delicious Philly. 1st time having a Philly cheese steak. Line was long but it moves fast. Totally worth the 40 minutes drive.

12/10 would recommend. I rarely eat cheesesteaks, but let me tell you. This was so good I could shed a tear 🥲. Worth every bite! I came here on a Saturday afternoon—no crazy line & very reasonable wait. I will definitely return. …

Traveling through Philly from Texas and I had to try a local spot. If you poke around the internet you will find plenty of reviews and comparisons, particularly two mainstream names, but I took the referral from a reviewer that tried 20 different places. John's didn't disappoint! Bread was crispy, meat was packed with flavor. I ordered a cheesesteak with grilled onions and American cheese. Add banana peppers on the side for a little kick. Nice folks, didn't wait long, under 10 minutes, around 10:30am. Park on the street or there is a lot across from restaurant. Two patios if you want to sit and enjoy your meal.
Bryan Keating
Still in Philly…was recommended by a local to grab some cheesesteaks from John’s and was not disappointed! I had another local cheesesteak recommendation before, which was good, but John’s is the champion. Had a mushroom cheesesteak with onions and whatever the recommended cheese was. Fantastic!

This place is great! The roast pork really reigns supreme. Definitely making my way back here when im in Philly

This was the first time I was ever here. Shame on me. John's Roast Pork is an iconic Philly institution. Their sandwiches are as good as advertised and the staff could not have been better. Loved everything about it. I ordered the cheesesteak with fried onions, and it was amazing. Served on a seeded roll, this cheesesteak had a unique kick to it's flavor and it was just outstanding. Don't be fooled either. The sandwich may look small but you will know you ate. It filled me up the entire afternoon. If you are from around the area and have not tried John's - then go there. And if you are visiting Philly - go there. Establishment is located on the corner of Snyder and Weccacoe right off of I95. 5 stars all the way and I can't wait to go back and try something else. Great job by all.
Tami Green
Mushroom cheesesteak was delicious! Best i have ever had...and i have had many Philly cheesesteaks. Always a line but moves fast. Takes cash or card and has tables out back to eat. Must stop if in Philly!
George Morash
First stop on the PA sandwhich hunt.
Pork was solid, cheesesteak was good as well. Owner even came out and talked a bit while eating. Good guy. 👍 was it the mountain? Not sure onto the next! …
Josh Baltazar
Decent amount of people, ordered a Roast Pork Sandwich which had pork, provolone and spinach. It was super soggy and ok, not from Philadelphia so maybe Roast Pork is not my jam
Ews
Truly one of the best cheese steak I had in philly.. the roast pork was good.. but I thought the cheese steak was a lot better!! I recommend checking it out!!
Quateria Mckenzie
I was here visiting. Cheesesteak was average, which is still okay. Anything averaged and up I’d revisit if I could. Pricing and size of cheesesteak was decent. I recommend.
Sean Fadely
Great Sammy spot. Since 1930. Huge fresh portions. Excellent bread. A classic Philly cheese steak joint. As seen on TV. Go there. It's good, fast, and you will be stuffed
Alanna G.
BEST Philly cheesesteak, hands down! I came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago, per a recommendation. I waited in line for 40 minutes, that went all the way down the block - but WELL WORTH THE LINE and the WAIT. These guys crank out these orders! The product is Fresh and absolutely delicious! You absolutely have to try this place!
J C
The roast pork is crazy good! So much flavor for what seems like a simple sub. Got it with the mild provolone and spinach. The sesame roll really brings it all together. Fast service and the staff is great too! Remember, cash only.
Michael Shanken
John's Roast Pork was really good, quick service, line moves with speed. Not a lot of seating and can get busy at peak times.
Gary Eisenach
OH. MY. GOODNESS. So incredibly good!!!! Being from Chicago my wife and I weren't exactly sure what to expect. What we had was the definition of heaven in the form of a sandwich. The roast pork sandwich was amazing. Every time we're in Philly this will be a must have.
Gwendolyn Stein
AMAZING!!!! In Philly for two days. Tried Geno's, Pat's, and Ishkibibble's day 1. On today prior to heading to the airport, we stopped at John's Roast Pork. Let me tell you, that sandwich was the best compared to the three places we tried. There was plenty of meat, we asked for extra cheese. It came with peppers, onions, and sweet peppers. Blew my mind. I regret sharing a sandwich and not buying two. The cheese was melted, gooey, and good. The meat was cooked to perfection. The peppers and onions were on point and don't get me started on the bread that held it's integrity. In case I forgot to mention, we stood in line for 25 minutes, waited an additional 10 minutes for our sandwich, and didn't eat the sandwich until 1 hour after getting it. AMAZING!! When I return to Philly, John's will be one of my first stops on the list. By the way, John, the owner, came out to apologize for wait. I had no complaints. I understand the long wait. Still have no complaints.

My first time here. Small corner building. Parking on street(no problem). I ordered the pork sandwich with sharp provolone. Sandwich was filled plenty of pork. I will be stopping there whenever I'm in area.
JIM J
Don’t get me wrong, a great roast pork sandwich. I particularly don’t like a seeded roll. However, I ordered exactly what I wanted; pork sharp provolone and long hots. $17.50, Really? I can get a nice chicken parm meal with pasta and salad for that price.
Kenneth Gross
I went around trying many cheesesteaks from many places. I tried 15-20 of them as recommended as the best ones by Philly natives. John's Roast Pork was my #1. And they're seriously big and heavy -- no joke. This is where I tell people to go.
Sarah Staudenmeier
It was an average cheesesteak if you’re from Philly. We didn’t wait too long which was nice. We were slightly disappointed with the dryness of the steak, but maybe the roast pork would have been better.
John Heimlich
Great cheesesteak. Fantastic meat with just the right amount of cheese and onions on the perfect roll.
This is the place to go.
Great onion rings too. Nice beer batter flavor.
Richard Nelson
Was my second Favorite in terms of philly cheese steaks during my philly visit. The seasame roll gave it an edge. Moist cheese was spread through out. I think i have just been converted to whizz which they don't have. Also tried the roast pork because heard it was the best here. Sadly disappointed. I don't understand the roast pork hype. Philly cheese steaks are better. The ordering here was so difficult for no reason. The employees also seemed rude and they didn't really do there jobs. If it wasn't for the hype we heard probably would have never eaten here do to horrible ordering process and rude employees. If they changes those aspects prob could get more business.
Jacqueline Telljohann
We've been searching for the best cheese steak in Philly every chance we get. After several recommendations for this place, I'm calling out search complete.
We got here around 2:30pm on a Saturday. There were only a few people out the door in the line. It still took about 30-40 minutes to wait for our sandwich. There are separate lines for roast pork and cheese steak, so you can get roast pork faster.
We decided we should try roast pork here too, so we got a small roast pork with sharp provolone. We also got a cheese steak with American cheese and onions.
Everyone is right when they say to come here for cheese steak. The roast pork is good enough, but it doesn't compare to how good the cheese steak is.
The bread really makes this cheese steak. They use this sesame seed roll that is so much better than a normal cheese steak roll. The meat seemed to be higher quality too.
There are some tables in a tent outside and a few outside in the open too. They take credit cards.
If you want the best cheese steak in Philly, look no further than John's Roast Pork.

Californian on vacation looking for authentic Philly steak sandwiches, pulled up to this one by mistake and it was the best mistake ever, my parents have been here before and wanted Gino's or Pats but my answer is when I go to places I want where the locals go not tourist spots and let's just say leaving back to Cali very soon vacation over and we are coming back for one last sandwiches before leaving home.. for the further if I ever come back this is the first spot off the plane to eat

Life long Philadelphian, John's is one of my favorites in the city. I usually would give them 5 stars, but I can't this time. My cheesesteak order never changes no matter where I am eating. Salt & Pepper, mayo, fried onions, ketchup and mustard. So if I ordered it like this, I don't want to put it on myself. If you don't or won't add what I asked for tell me when I order. Give me the opportunity to say yes or no thanks. If I come from Mt. Airy is this too much to ask?
Rick Tumlin
It's definitely a solid choice for Cheesesteak. I tried an ultimate roast beef, poppers, cheesticks, and fries. My favorite part of the sandwich was the beef, while the bread was average IMO. Poppers were pretty good, cheese sticks ok, and fries a little too crispy. I would recommend trying this place for yourself. I'm not a frequent Cheesesteak person, but I had to give it a try while in town.

Layout/atmosphere
*Located by the railroad tracks; takeout window; enclosed dining area & tables outside
Food/drink
*Roast pork sandwich (sharp provolone) - very good; the bread, the juiciness of the meat and the cheese melded together perfectly
*Sweet pepper cheesesteak (seeded roll, mild provolone, green peppers, fried onions) - good

John's is never a disappointment.
Food and the staff is amazing.
After a hard day's work my friend George and I enjoyed a couple of sandwiches and fries eating on the tailgate of his truck.

Located in south Philly, John’s Roast Pork has been a Philadelphia institution for the past 20 years. Established in 1930, this family-run restaurant is currently run by John Bucci Jr., the third generation owner. This restaurant is old school, only taking cash, and has strange hours so make sure it’s open before making the drive. During COVID-19, customers have to call in advance to place their order. Because the restaurant is so famous, recognized by the James Beard Foundation in 2006 as an “American Classic,” the process of calling to place your order is very hectic. Most of the time, they do not pick up their phone as the line is always busy. It can take over 20 attempts to finally reach a worker to place your order, but luckily, the hassle is worth it.
Although Roast Pork is in their name, they are just as famous for their cheesesteaks as they are for their roast pork sandwiches. I ordered their roast pork sandwich with spinach and sharp cheddar and their cheesesteak with white american cheese, the way John Bucci Jr. recommends. Firstly, both sandwiches were extremely fresh and were ready exactly at my assigned pick up time. For the roast pork, the sandwich was stuffed to the brim with surprisingly juicy and flavorful meat. I expected it to be much drier than it was. The sharp cheddar added a nice kick to the sandwich, and the spinach cut the fat of the meat well. The sesame seed was also excellent as the seeds provided a change to the otherwise monotonous texture of both sandwiches. Overall, this sandwich is quite excellent and really surprised me by how good it was. I personally believe it is worth the hype.
Now let’s talk cheesesteak! This sandwich is jam packed with steak, onions, and cheese. There must have been at least five slices of cheese which is great for cheese lovers, but I personally think there was too much cheese. Although there is a lot of fried onions, they provide a nice sweetness that improves the overall flavor of the cheesesteak. This sandwich is really delicious, but compared to other Philadelphia cheesesteaks, it is on the heavier side. While the sandwich is quite good and is definitely a must try if you go on a cheesesteak tour, I much prefer the roast pork sandwich.
In conclusion, John’s Roast Pork is a must try spot for any food lover visiting Philadelphia. If you go during the pandemic, the ordering process is a bit stressful and confusing, so I would recommend calling early and often until you reach the staff and place your order. Don’t give up on calling them (as I almost did after many attempts) because the food and overall experience is worth it.

This is exactly what it should be. The cheesteaks are great, the pork is otherworldly good. Get the pork Italiano. Crinkle fries nice and crisp but not burned. Onion rings done nice. Service was quick and friendly.

Would love to give a 10-star review! I have been eating there for 30 years. Found them when I was working a few miles away. Every item on the menu is 100% If you get there early enough they have a small breakfast menu
Tonya Mccormick
Went there today. Ordered a cheesesteak. With cheese. No cheese at all on my sandwich. Used to like this place. Never again. No real customer service now. They push you through the line. You are just a number. Will never go back. Quality of service and food had gone down hill.

Ok so just got home from my 2nd chance redemption review at John's Roast Pork. John took care of me directly so the service was infinitely better. Got an american wit. For you non Philly speaking people that is a cheesesteak with american cheese and fried onions 😉 The american cheese was much more mild of a flavor than the sharp provolone recommended last time and blended in perfectly with all other flavors. The fried onions were cooked perfectly, the steak was seasoned well, and the seeded roll had the texture and taste like it was lightly toasted so the flavor of the sesame seeds were more enhanced. Jumping from a 3 experience last time to a 9.5 this time. Easily THE BEST cheesesteak I've ever had and I've had some really great cheesesteaks. Got to hang out with John and his puppies in the headquarters afterwards 😁☝️ The first time I ordered there I called the 40 minutes ahead that was needed and asked for wiz. They didn't have wiz so I said whatever you recommend is fine. She recommended the sharp provolone. BIG MISTAKE. I got there 15 minutes early. No big deal. My order was supposed to be ready at 2:45 so nobody was in line and I asked the girl up front if my order was ready at 2:40. She responded "let me check". Now 20 minutes go by at this time and people are walking up and picking up food. It's now 3pm, 20 minutes after I asked her if my food was ready and 15 minutes after my food was supposed to be done, and I walked up and asked her again if my food is done and she reaches over and grabs it. I don't know how long it was sitting there for because she didn't call to notify me it was done or announce it over the speaker. The sharp provolone was overpowering every other flavor so all I could taste was the cheese, the steak was flavorless, the unseeded roll was the best part of the sandwich. Expectations were so high and the disappointment was so low. If it had a different cheese it might have been better but the service up front was terrible 😕

5 star cheesesteak, with american. intensely flavorful, fresh cracked black pepper, cannot be missed. roast pork was nice, well seasoned (plain with hot peppers), a level below the cheesesteak. -1 star for dude telling me “no more cheesesteaks” then letting the peeps behind me order cheesesteaks?!?! had to go back and ask what’s up and get one ordered. bs move.
Ryan DeFigueiredo
If there are cheesesteaks in heaven, they will be from John's Roast Pork. This sandwich checked every single box – the roll was crusty on the outside, soft on the inside; the ribeye was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, the onions were flavorful and mixed in throughout, and the sandwich was oozing with sharp provolone. This place deserves every award, accolade, and #1 ranking it has received, and then some. I don't live in Philadelphia, but I would come back just for this sandwich. It's that good. If you're trying to decide where to go to get a cheesesteak in the area, stop looking and just go to John's. I promise you won't regret it.
Mihai Pistol
Locals love John's. Tourists love John's. I liked it, but didn't love it. And it wasn't about the half and hour trying to get them on the phone, and the 45 min wait time. It was about their signature sandwich, the Roast Pork. The bun is simple and good, but the pork is braised with too much pepper and bay leaf, and that can be overwhelming for some. Although the size of it and meat quality is impressive. Surprisingly, the cheesesteak was very good. My second favorite in the Philly area.
Jared Sternberg
The best cheesesteak in philly comes down to how you like the meat cut, and whether you want wiz or not. For me I like the meat cut in ribbons and I dont usually want wiz so this is by far the best version of that
Dude Knows
John’s Roast Pork was the bees knees!!! 🤤James Beard Award Winning LITERALLY!! They won the award! The sandwiches are excellent!! The roast pork with spinach and provolone was AMAZING! This is the famouser!! The cheesesteak was GREAT! John’s is known for their American Cheese and Sharp Provolone Cheese. They DO NOT do Cheese Wiz. I got my cheesesteak with American Cheese on it. I also tried the Roast Pork sandwich with Mustard and American cheese which I saw on online is the the “owner’s favorite.” All were tasty! This is definitely a TOP SPOT to grab a roast pork sandwich and Philly cheesesteak! It is on all the MUST EAT lists for Philly online. You gotta call ahead during covid to reserve a spot for a sandwich!! These sandwiches are a hot commodity. A lot of people call in for them. I called 8 times before I got through to someone to put my order in! It was definitely worth it!!

First trip here. Waited about 20 minutes in line, but we'll worth it. Roast pork, provolone, spinach pictured. Very good. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Great place to stop if you're spending the day in Philly.
Nero T
A staple of Philly that seems to always have a line. I recommend knowing your order ahead of time. Their roast pork is their specialty, but I think the steak sandwiches are better.
Rick S.
Johns Roast Pork or more fondly known as “The Shack” is tied for my favorite Roast Pork in the city! However, they are my favorite roast beef sandwich in the city! The cheesesteak is my second favorite as well! Yes and all under one roof! And they make delicious pepper, egg and cheeses or bacon egg and cheeses in the AM.
Typically I end up splitting a roast pork or a roast beef on a seeded long roll with hots and sharp provolone and a cheesesteak with whoever I go with because I can’t eat a whole one of each! I’ve tried the “smalls” on the rst beef and pork but it just isn’t the same on a round roll.
Eat them outside or jump in your car and eat, it’s up to you but don’t go driving back to NJ or the burbs or stop to do errands and then complain about a soggy cold sandwich, it’s not their fault!
The line might be long but it moves fast, these guys are pro’s! Know what you’re getting because if it’s your turn to order and you haven’t decided since you were texting with your significant other instead of making a decision that’s on you! And no, the customer isn’t always right, if you don’t know what you want then move aside, there are 50 ppl behind you that do know what they want.
In 20+ years I’ve never had anything but excellent food at John’s and I hope that I’ll be eating them for another 20 years!
A little tip: grab one of the little containers of marinated roasted red peppers at the register, they are inexpensive and taste good on anything you put them on (especially the roast beef)
Vincent G
This cheese steak is HEAVY. I went on a Saturday afternoon in the freezing cold. Luckily they have a semi closed off table area. It took roughly 20 min to get my order since they cook it to order which makes each sandwich supperrr hot once you get them.
This cheese steak uses American cheese instead of cheese whizz so depending on which one you like more could make this place hit or miss. Beef was nice and juicy but I think the bread was a tad bit too thick for my preference but hey a cheese steak is a cheese steak. This one was a pretty darn good one too.
Overall worth a stop if you're near by.
Tony Rudy
Great roast pork but does sell out. Cheesesteak is definitely one of the top 10 in the Philadelphia area.
Linh Quan
Philly is known for their cheesesteak. People always say go to Geno or Pat cheesesteak but if you want a good cheesesteak go John’s Roast Pork instead. They’re known for their roast pork sandwiches here as well as the cheesesteak. The bread is seeded which makes the cheesesteak taste even more yummy. They are very generous with the meat portion as you can see in the picture. I highly recommend this place. The only con about this place is that there’s always a line so be prepare to wait like 30 min if you go during their prime time. It’s still worth the wait though. If you’re visiting Philly you definitely have to come here to try the cheesesteak. You will not be disappointed.
Rich Pluck
Best roast pork sandwich and cheese steak in america. Just get there and try one. Make sure it's on the seaded roll.
Cheri Gem
I'm from Philly. I moved away 20 years ago. If you are ever in Philly YOU must STOP in and get a great Roast Pork w extra sharp provolone cheese and spinach. Still number #1.
Matt Bianco
There is a reason why John's is ranked as one of Philly's top places for a cheesesteak. They sling cheesesteaks like no one else. Don't mind the line, they fly through orders without sacrificing quality. Highly recommended.
Jaylens Daddy
Sometimes the line can be very long, especially on weekends, and before and after Philly sporting events. But the quality of their food never changes. I rate them as the #1 cheesesteak in the city and with one taste you will see why
Sandra Mullins
Came all the way from California to try a Philly cheese steak 😋 it was awesome, even met the owner John, a real nice guy. I would definitely recommend this place.
Evan Schiff
Fantastic cheese steak in an 'atmospheric' part of the 215. Always a queue but moves fairly quickly and no wiz option for the steaks (but who would even miss not having wiz - American is the way to go for cheese steaks). Seeded bun is unique and delicious. Always hits the spot.
Rahman Bukhari
It’s good overall, but it doesn’t deserve the hype it’s getting. There are many other places that have better cheese steak sandwiches
Maxx Rodriguez
Waited 45 min in line in the frigid Cold for what i was told one of the best cheesesteak sandwiches in the city and let me tell you it was delicious! Huge portion, had to take half of it with me. I have nothing to compare it too, but i was satisfied. Be sure you kno what you want before get to counter or you will have very angry people behind you

There are many many many places to get a cheesesteak in Philadelphia. It can be overwhelming figuring out where to go and what to try. I’ve personally been to many but one specific place that kept coming up time and time again when talking with others and looking at reviews online continued to elude me. Perhaps it is because of the hours, location, who knows…but finally that drought comes to an end. Finally, I got to taste the cheesesteak (and roast pork sandwich) at John’s Roast Pork!
So first of all, this place has won a James Beard award. For anyone living under a rock, that’s a big deal…especially for a sandwich shop. If I wasn’t already going to be trying the roast pork, I certainly was after finding out about that. This little shop does a very large amount of business and is run by a family man who cares about his customers nearly as much as he cares about the product he is sending out. I’ve had the chance to speak with John a bit and he is a great guy.
So, for a cheesesteak I am steadfast in what I want, and I order it the same every single time. Give me a steak with fried onions and American cheese. I don’t care about cheese whiz…I don’t care if you think it’s better with provolone…I don’t care about mushrooms or any other toppings…I don’t want condiments. If your steak needs a condiment, it isn’t good enough. There, I said it.
This cheesesteak is massive. This is easily a two-meal sandwich. The bread is firm and does a great job standing up to all of the meat and cheese it’s holding. The meat is seasoned very well and has great flavor as well as texture. My issue with half the steak places in Philly is the texture of the meat is not very good. Plenty of cheese also, I mean plenty. Very juicy steak, I couldn’t possibly say more about this thing except that it was fantastic.
The Roast Pork though...wow. I have had the roast pork at Tony Luke’s and I’ve had the roast pork at Dinic’s…this is a step above. Same excellent bread as the cheesesteak and it would have to be because the amount of juiciness coming out of this sandwich is insane. The sharp provolone adds a different dimension to the sandwich and the veggies were cooked and seasoned perfectly. These flavors blended together are honestly indescribable. Just excellent.
I think for the two sandwiches I paid around $25 but when you take into account that it was enough meat for 4 meals, the cost is honestly totally fair. I’d pay $12 for that cheesesteak any day of the week…except Sunday or Monday right now because they’re closed those days. Also make sure to check the hours because they close fairly early most nights. I think this has more to do with them being a family run and oriented business than anything, just don’t expect to get your late-night fix here.
John’s Roast Pork receives a resounding, emphatic, and heartfelt…Didn’t Suck!
CJ Prudhom
Didn't think it could happen. After 10 or 11 awesome Cheesesteaks, I found it. Number one! My last day. They don't do Whiz here so I was going to have the sharp provolone. Got here before they opened and met John. Great guy, very humble. He strongly recommend the American cheese and onions. I followed. So much delicious meat and the perfect chop. Seeded, chewy roll. Everything was perfection. Worth a trip to Philly just for this experience. Thanks, John!

Super delicious mushrooms cheesesteak... no condiments needed.
Robert Czarneski
I've been to quite a few, sandwich shops in my time. Most not as good as I'm told or read in reviews. This place is outstanding... Simple menu. They pay attention to quality... I must say, this is the BEST place in Philly to get a roast pork sandwich...
Daniel Sañez
I got on the road at 5:10 am to drive north to John’s Roast Pork to arrive at 9:45 am. I was the first in line! Yes!!
I ordered two sandwiches: the ultimate cheesesteak and a small roast pork. The cashier Vickie was great when I told her it was my first time. She recommended American cheese and onions on the cheesesteak, and sharp provolone and sautéed spinach on the pork. (Next time, I’ll order mild provolone; I thought the sharp overpowered the meat.)
Both meats were amazingly and perfectly well-seasoned. Wow. I will definitely be back!!
If you are a first-timer, order as I did above with mild provolone on the pork. I have every confidence that you will be happy.
There is good reason that J’sRP has a James Beard Award. You won’t regret going.
(I followed this visit by going to another, famous, reputable cheesesteak place and it paled in comparison.)
I’m giving this review four stars because the owner of the place glad-handed all the patrons and welcomed everyone except me. It was hard not to take it personally and I felt ignored.
If you’re going to greet people, that’s fantastic. But greet *everyone,* please. He walked right by me. It was odd. And hell: I ordered *two* meals, not just one!
But besides that, I might mail-order going forward. It’s a helluva drive from where I am, and the tolls are like $50.00 when all is said and done.
Enjoy it!!

Cheap buffet. Good standard. We ate like W pounds of pulled pork per person and payed like 10 bucks. Nice to sit outside on the terrace and watch the lake, filled with turtles.
Etienne Jehl
Fabulous philly cheese steak in homemade bread, pork sandwich a delight also nice people recomend to trie was the best philly sandwich hi have for long time a most trie for your people who love the famous philly sandwich
Jacson Mathew
As a New Yorker, who never had a classic Philly cheese steaks before and tried it for the first time yesterday and being recommended the infamous roast pork sandwich. I'll take the roast pork sandwich over the Philly cheese steak any day of the week.
Jim Bentley
Had to give it a shot after reading an article over the weekend about best pork and cheesesteaks. Was not over rated! Way better than Pat's and Geno's and gives Jim's a real run for their money (my personal favorite). Highly recommended !!
Jeff (Jeff)
John's Roast Pork is one of the best sandwich shops in Philly. It tends to miss some of the notoriety of others because of its unassuming location in South Philly. Their roast pork is off the charts! They also do cheesesteaks and amazing breakfast sandwiches on a perfect seeded roll
Scott P
Splitting an Italian style Roast pork with my lovely lady. Definitely recommend it!
TomAndKaren Conroy
I'm kind of a cheese steak junkie. I OD on 'em whenever I'm in Philly. Got dragged to John's by my nephew, who had a steak, made me try the roast pork sandwich. AWESOME! Wish they sold beer ...
Bob Levin
Great Cheesesteak. Really nice people working and enjoying the food.
Not easy eating a whole one. I ate 80%
Sorry ate it fast no pics
Sufei Zhao
Order ahead! They currently only take order by phone, and we had to keep calling for 5 mins before we got someone to answer.
The roast pork is simple, but good. Could have used some sauce. Not sure if I would travel all the way out there for it again, but if you're in the area it's definitely a decent, filling, bang for your buck sandwich.
Shane Haase
Drove up from Baltimore just to grab a few subs. I think I'll be making more trips here in the future! Awesome cheesestaeaks!
Jared Sharp
Easily the best cheesteak in Philly. Don't count out the Pork Italiano either. Those two sandwiches are hands down the best I've ever had. Forget the Wiz and Broccoli Raab, go to JRP for the real deal!!
Will Riccs
Great cheesesteak, even better roast pork, easy location to access from the highway or the sports complex.
I mean, If you haven't stood on the corner of Snyder and Weccacoe and dripped hot grease on your eagles jersey while watching an old man try to find somewhere to pee on the outside of the Lowes, are you really even alive?
David lopez
Saw this place on a food channel and had to try it. Long lines move pretty quick. Had the roast pork sandwich and the cheese steak. No cheese whiz here, just real cheeses like mild and sharp provolone cheeses. Rolls were great, sandwiches where very filling. Outside dining only. The place sits on a corner..we parked across the street in the shopping center.
rob wilson
I just arrived at phl Airport and I over heard a lady telling a man. I'm going to take tou to get the best cheesesteak at 1 of 2 places Pat's or Genos. That's when I collapsed.... No No no I told her to goto to John's roast pork. Then I thought heck I'm going their to. And I lived happy ever after! Just go there.
Cody Mann
John’s is consistently brought up as a top 5 cheesesteak and that’s for good reason! I’ve found the quality to be relatively consistent the few times I’ve had it and would put it in my personal top 5 based on the bang for your buck factor alongside overall taste / flavor. You may end up waiting a bit but it’s a given with how popular the place has become. Roast Pork wise it’s probably neck and neck for me with Dinics in Reading Terminal.
Andrew Charles Dybalski
Overall still good sandwich as it was back in the day I just believe they did get smaller in length and thickness could be made but I swear I was a lot more meat on that a few years back pretty covid I guess so to say
Drake Orion
The cheesesteaks were good...not the best in the area (Curly's) The pork sandwich with sharp provolone was great almost as good as Dinics...it was just missing broccoli rabe. I would do the pork with spinach next time.
Denitsa Kosharova
GO THERE! I haven't had many cheese steaks in my life, but the ones I've had have been pretty great. John's Pork Roast was outstanding. I went with the cheese steak with onions and american cheese and it was everything I could ever ask from the sandwich.
Now about the service. It's a busy place - you'd better know what you want and not hold up the line. Left line is for cheese steal because its MADE TO ORDER, right line is for pork that is slow-cooked ahead of time. Go in put your order and pay at the register. Everyone I spoke to the point but nice and I actually enjoyed watching the dynamics among the staff.
All in all stronly recommended and would go again!
Dave Cohen
Been coming here whenever in the area for over 10 years. I've tried so many but the cheesesteaks are the best here in my opinion. The roast pork is second to none as well. Love this place!
Shun Mau Yip
Even though it's a little bit off the beaten path(all the out in the SE tip South Philly). But it's totally worth making the trip out here and try one of the their roast pork sandwich. I can't even wait to take a picture of the full sandwich, the aroma of it was so alluring and intoxicating, that I have to take a big bite once I open up the wrapper.
Jeff So
With my visit to Philly this week, I have tried Pat's, Geno's, Jim's and now John's Roast Pork. I have to say John's is the best overall of them. They don't use Whiz, and they closed by 7pm (was there a few days ago at 6:45pm they were already closed up). They give a lot of meat and the melt the cheese with the steak so it's not dry like the others. We also tried the Roast Pork sandwich but sorry not a fan.
Kristen Parks
We are in town on vacation and stopped by John’s for our first Cheese Steak and it was amazing! Plus it was a large portion, sides aren’t even needed, we couldn’t finish ours. It is a bargain for the amount of food you receive. We tried the mushroom cheese steak with provolone cheese and it did not disappoint! We will come back again soon.
Joan Nemish
Tastey cheesesteak! We chose John’s to be one of the three stops in our cheesesteak mini-tour. The bread was great, the steak was great, the cheese was great! The toasted sesame seeds added a good flavor to the already solid sandwich experience. Can’t wait to try other sandwiches at John’s!
Andrea Johnson
Its a little corner establishment. For me and my sister it wasnt anything amazing or special. We are tourists from Kenosha, WI and we were told by a local to go there. My sister got the sharp provolone, and it was very sharp. She likes cheese but couldnt eat it. I got the mild and was happier. My mom loved it, though. My experince was nice with the staff, though.
J Holton
Recommended to us by a Philly native. Tasty tasty tasty. Onions were cooked to perfection. Great bread holds together a big, hardy sandwich.
This place serves all sorts of customers from hardhat guys to curious tourists.
Rob Grossman
It's worth the wait just go for the regular roast pork with spinach and sharp provolone you can't beat it
Cheeto Whitman
I had the roast pork sandwich w/ sharp provolone, and the flavour was outstanding. I can see why it's their specialty. The downside is the location is a bit out of the way, but it's a worthwhile excursion. And the service is fast as well. I'll definitely be back soon to try the cheesesteak!
Austin Boley
A really good cheesesteak. Great seasoning on the steak and love the bread with the sesame seeds. Could just go a little heavier on the cheese, but still great.
Andrew
Not like it needs my review but the roast pork and the cheese steak are incredible. I think it's all in the bread. Get here early before they run out of rolls
Eric Garish
Cheese steak gets an 8 from me. Good seating. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich gets a 9.

**Reviews of Roast Pork and Cheese steak sandwiches **
Food: 8/10
Service: 8/10
Value: 10/10
If a sandwich shop is recognized by the James Beard Foundation, then I have to eat it. This stand is your ypical service window style establishment. Cashier was pleasant until we asked to have the sandwiches cut into 4s. It's a little extra step, but I'm not sure why it was such an annoyance to her. But service was quick and food came out fast and hot. For the amount of meat in the sandwiches, the price point was definitely a huge value. The bread used isn't your typical roll. It is less crusty and has more pull and chew to it.
Cheese steak:
Ordered the recommended way, with onions and American cheese. The meat tasted fresh and appeared to be cooked to order. Many places sandbag piles of meat and onions, but not here. Made to order and bountiful pile of ribeye was stuffed into the sturdy roll with generous amounts of onion. The chew of the roll kept everything in, and the addition of sesame seeds added a little boost. It was a different take on a sandwich I thought I had eaten every iteration of.
Roast pork:
I eat this everywhere that offers it, and since it's in the name, today would be no different (I had stopped by a more well-known competitors location an hour before to compare). The pork was a plethora of flavor. Juicy, well seasoned, and phenomenal levels of flavor were in the protein. Now, I fancy myself a broccoli rabe guy, but they DO NOT offer that here. But, if garlicky spinach always tastes the way it does at John's, I wouldn't never complain. It was bursting with flavor and was an excellent compliment to the pork. They did the right thing and kept the provolone sharp. The balance of flavors was magical. Now the disappointing part. The delicious chewy bread was not strong enough to withstand the juiciness of it's contents. To be fair, it did not completely fall apart, but was a bit soggy, which could mean it wouldn't be an ideal to travel with. Will make this a stop whenever I'm back in Philadelphia as this pork won my heart.
Adrian Roach
Stopped overnight in Philly on a road trip, asked the hotel where’s the best Philly Cheese Steak in town and we were directed here and it didn’t disappoint. Tried a couple different menu items and loved the flavours.

Long line, but worth the wait.
The line from the outside looked ok, but when I got inside I realized there were many more waiting around. However it was worth the wait. Next time I have to try the cheesesteaks this time I had the roast pork.
Felicia Hinton
This place is so great. The employees was wonderfully respectful & they got our order right. Everything was so fresh & mighty good. I will be back to try the roast pork & chicken cheese steak sandwiches.
A Car
Loved everything about it with the exception of paying $2.50 for 1 long hot pepper. Times 3 sandwiches it felt unreasonable.
Matthew N
Pork sandwich was awesome! Neighborhood is a bit rough around the edges but sage during the day. This place is historic!
PL M
Blue collar. Order your food and enjoy. Cheese steak is the best. New walkup covered ordering area and outdoor covered seating updated. 12oz of steak! So much meat. The owner is legendary and one cool Philly guy. A must stop whenever in Philly.
Makeba Gray
My 1st time in Philly & I wanted something authentic & I heard nothing but good things about John's.... I oreded the chicken philly & the food is simply amazing!!!! I even ordered a cheese steak to go! This place is a must try and every time I'm in Philadelphia I will be stopping here!
D Pak
It's a top 3 philly cheese steak in my books. Small shop but packed and constantly pumping out the most quality food around philly. The sesame bun takes the sandwhich to another level. These details make it why it's a top 3. Roast pork is delicious but so is their Italiano and cheese steak.
Dennis Rew
Cheesesteak was ok. Actually didn't even finish the whole thing. Fries were awful. It's like they were crinkle cut fries from there frozen food section with no salt.
Clark Forcey Jr.
Delicious classic cheesesteak. Came with great reviews and they delivered.
Veronica Davis
This spot came highly recommended!! I visited twice to taste both the pork and the beef cheesesteaks.
The pork is diffently Italian it is not a southern taste!!! The beef was on point however I did not like the sharp provolone cheese on it.
When I return I would le to try their breakfast menu.
Loved the staff very well organized and were familar with the menu.
Robert LaPlante (Paramount Fencing Inc)
Still the best chopped cheesesteak around. The pork is great as well. I cannot leave this place without one of each.
Laura Cowden
I dont quite understand the philly hype -- it was fine but not the best cheesesteak in the city.
Jody “Joe D”
Got the large roast pork with sharp provolone. This thing is awesome. I wasn't that hungry so I save half for later. Had it in to toaster oven...got the cheese melted and the bread slightly toasted....holysh*t this is even better.
-LD-
It was excellent as always. My favorite is the cheese steak w onions and a cold pepsi. I drive down all the way from New York a few times a year to enjoy with the family.
Austin Stern
A staple in Philly. Great roast pork and cheesesteaks. Some of my favorite in the city.
Holfson Cajuste
Wow the pork sandwich is amazing. Chessesteaks are really good as well. This place cant make a bad sandwich. Definitely best sandwich I've ever had!
Andres Astudillo
I’m from NYC and looking for the best Philly cheesesteak and this place was so worth it!!!!! Definitely coming back 👌👌👌 …
Matthew Hyland
Best Roast Pork Sandwich in Philly! Cheesesteak is great too!
Nava Berg
I tried both the Cheesesteak with onions and sharp provolone and pork sandwich, they were both outstanding, although I think the pork is better.
Kay Chandler
This was my first Philly Cheesesteak and I have to say it was good. The meat was perfect, peppers and onions are a must (or you'll have a dry sandwich), and the hoagie was soft.
Chris Schrieber
I've been coming here for years. This place has been on TV multiple times for its acclaimed food. If you want one of the best pork sandwiches around, go to Johns roast pork. They even have home made long island hot peppers. The cheese steaks only come one size and can feed an big man. You order cheese steaks in a different location than the pork sandwich. Perfect rolls, perfect amount of cheese. This is something you look forward to over the course of a month.
Tash'Mai Beauty Lounge
So so so good can’t wait to go back I’ve went back since my first review smh it’s confirmed johns has the best cheese steak in Philly hands down I literally drove from nyc for it it’s just that good
Ew Oc
BEST PHILLY CHEESESTAKES EVER! A must visit! Great place to eat while in PHILLY. OWNER JOHN EVEN TOOK TIME OUT TO TALK TO CUSTOMER.
Ai Ling Luckiewicz
Cheese steak there is delicious. You have to call ahead by phone to order during covid.
Omar Viera-Roman
Been in Philly for a long time now, always noticing the place packed and wondering just how good the food is. Well today I finally got a shot at it and now I can see why it's so popular, the meat is juicy, flavorful, yet soft and feels great to chew unlike those other, more firm pork sandwiches. I'd highly recommend this place if you got the time to wait a bit. Seriously!
Misa Ojou
They were very quick with getting everyone’s food out. We got our order in about 10 minutes or less. The problem was we got sharp provolone instead of our usual mild and it tasted very . . Stinky. Be careful picking the cheese if you’ve never had it before TT
cindy la uruguacha
Yummy and big phily cheesesteak. DELICIOUS. Friendly and polite staff. Clean place, and great price. I had the honor to met the owner, I was eating and he introduced himself, we had a nice short talk...I recommend this place to everyone.
Thero Kenman
Ok...first of all let me say that I got two sandwiches here. The famous roast pork and the cheesesteak. I was not impressed with the roast pork. There are others in the city that I think are much better. The sandwich was dry and under seasoned. On that sandwich alone, I would give this place a two or three star rating. But then I tried the cheesesteak...and it is probably my favorite in the entire city. The crusty seeded bread was perfect, the onions and american cheese were just right! Try the cheesesteak if you are in the area!!!
Jane Jing
It was cold weekend and long line. Probably my expectation was really really high. The taste was ok but not very impressive. It is pure personal opinion.
Chad Boschee
The good: steak was fresh, cooked in front of you and well seasoned. Roast pork was good but spinach was plain. I prefer broccoli rabe.
The bad: Inside smells like bad body odor. Staff was arguing with the customers and rolls are seeded.
John Fusco
They've still got it. Window booth lost some of the old school South Philly 'charm', but the efficiency gains make up for it 10 fold.
Sam Szpendyk
Came here for a quick work lunch. Very amazing first real philly cheesteak experience. Make sure you know what you want and order quick!
Richelle Payne
Best sandwiches just the way they should be...the cheesesteak is tasty but the roast pork, in my humble opinion, is delicious!
Shawn
I was told that John's Roast Pork offers the best cheesesteak in Philly. That's a big statement, so I made a special trip into Philadelphia to investigate. John's is located near an industrial area and the train tracks in South Philly. When I arrive at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon, the place was packed. This was an encouraging sight, because I knew they weren't drawing this size of a crowd by offering scenic views. I got in line and waited my turn to place my order. The staff was efficient, but friendly. Some of the other cheesesteak shops in town have a schtick which includes treating their customers like dirt. I was happy to find this is not the case with John's. I ordered a traditional cheesesteak and a pizza steak and went outside to sit at a picnic table to enjoy my meal. Both sandwiches were delicious! Each sandwich cost less than ten bucks and they were made to order. The next time you're in Philly, do yourself a favor and skip the tourist traps and go where the local go - John's Roast Pork
Michael Figgs
Easily the best cheesesteak in Philly. They’re roast pork is also excellent (as expected).
Emmy Lundgaard
Forget about any other places that pretend to be rivals. If you really want to try the best Philly cheese steak sandwich you have to pay this place a visit
pekka mooar
A classic steak but they left out the peppers first time I was disappointed the fries were perfect . Atmosphere is philly take out
Matthew
Would've like a little more flavor for the roast pork sandwich, but the cheesesteak was great
Jim “The Cheesesteak Guy” Pappas
I got the cheesesteak. I was surprised at how many people were getting the cheesesteak and not the roast pork. I think an employee called out sick because they were very slow and even if they were fully staffed they need a new system for getting people in, ordered and out. The lady at the counter yelling at everyone is endearing but annoying. Anyway don't expect a quick trip to John's and don't go on Monday (closed) and bring cash. With all of that said, a very good CS. Outsideish seating and where it is located I guess you say it has parking. Very good 'philly experience' cheesesteak.
Al Tenore
pork sandwich was amazing. The cheese steak was good not great. Restaurant atmosphere could use some work.
Rich Djaraher
1st time here. As expected, long BUT QUICK lines. Now take credit cards. Cheesesteak w/ onion & American was FABULOUS. Heard about Johns in WFAN !!! Impressed and me be my Philly Fave!!! Highly recommended. Best rolls ever.
David “Dcun” Cun
Five Star for the cheesesteak. Well seasoned and the meat was tender. 3 star for the roast pork sandwich. Either I'm not just a fan of roast pork sandwiches I just think the meat is a little dry compare to the cheesesteak.
mik quin
Delicious!!
Haven't visited J'sRP for a while, but last time i did it was fantastic. They actually pull the dough out of the inside of the roll to fill it more! Line will be out the door at lunchtime, but it moves quickly.
Fizzywhoamac Avenue
Best cheesesteak in Philadelphia!!!! Best Pork Sandwich!!! You can't go wrong here if you want a real Philly Cheesesteak this is the best place you can go!!!
Al Sanchez
Easily the best pork sandwich in the states.
Service, well yeah its sub-par but who gives a damn?
Dustin Barker
Odering was easy, wait was not too long and I got there at 12:30pm on a Saturday. Number 1 Philly without question!
John Mach
Outstanding stop in south Philly.
Far outweighs pat's..
Sorry ...
New king in town.
Rolls better, the meat quality is superior selections are great.
The best of all worlds , for all taste palates; chicken cutlet. Roast beef, roast pork, meat ball, and chicken and steak sandwiches.
John's, how could have I missed you this long..
Just stock on the regular Mt. Dew!
Good luck with the new grill.
Will be back soon when it is seasoned for an even better sandwich!
Thanks for a great experience..
It was worth the wait..
BTW 1 was #5 in line today!
Abbey Wright
We went recently when they had a limited menu and John himself came out to talk to the customers. He apologize for the inconvenience and explained that 6 staff had called out that day. Even under those circumstances, the food was fast and delicious. Being from Texas, we were incredibly happy to make the trip down town just for the cheesesteak we had heard so much about! Definitely recommend going there, they are kind people and serve great food!!
Jon C
This place has the best Philly Cheesesteak in Philly hands down!!!
Mack Bennett
I was only in Philly for a day and John's Roast Pork was recommended on a few articles, plus a couple local friends for me. I wanted to go somewhere that isn't all commercialized/typical like Pat's or Geno's, and this place seemed perfect. Highly reviewed on top of the recommendations from my friends, so I was excited.
I went straight from the airport before even checking in to where I was staying. The place has old school vibes and is very straightforward. The staff were nice, too. There is some seating off to the side, which was nice since I had my suitcase lol. Some of it is covered, but the other part isn't.
I ordered a steak, cheese and onion sandwich which I added peppers to. I must've come on an off day, or just am very unlucky because my sandwich was disappointing. Unfortunately, the peppers were put on cold which ruined the sandwich. I think they forgot to cook it all together, so they just slapped them on after. It made the sandwich cool off a ton and eating outside in winter isn't helping that. I know this is a Roast Pork place, obviously, but they used that bread instead of the traditional bread for cheese steak. I think it has perfect consistency, as far as holding up the entire time, but the flavor just didn't go too well with the cheese steak for me. I'd prefer whatever the traditional bread is for that.
I think if the peppers had been cooked with the rest, then the bread wouldn't have bothered me too much, but those two things coupled together made me decide that I'd just go somewhere else next time I'm in town.
Christian Ryan
was disappointed in cheesesteak with all of the hype. It's definitely not as good as Jims. But the roast pork is out of this world.
Joe Stein
Possibly the best spot in the city for a roast pork or cheesesteak depending on your personal preference. I love it, but it doesn't love me back! (edit to say this was not directed at the staff! It just makes me soft in the middle and wanting to take a nap!)
Simona Stonkute
Its a crazy place with a lot of people and some Organized chaos. The food was very good but it was enough with only half of my sandwich.
J B
the best cheesesteaks and pork sandwiches in Philly!!
Jeffrey Edmonston
Original and huge sandwiches..great price.. great flavor..and #1 cheese steaks in Philadelphia..
Orlando Calder
Visited today and tried the infamous "Philly Cheese steak" and it did not disappoint!
David Whang
Best cheesesteak in Philly. Not the biggest fan of roast pork sandwiches in general, but the cheesesteak and Italian sausage (i don't normally like sausage) are top notch.
Had a chance to meet the owner the last time i visited (from VA), and he was so hospitable and even promised to make the Italian sausage himself if i ordered it. 13/10 would recommend. This place never disappoints!
Anthony Perryman
Best cheese steaks in Philly, hands down!
5/5
Jared Allen
Best sandwich i've ever eaten! Fast & Friendly staff even though they're swamped busy all the time. Would return anytime I'm in the area. Thanks John!
Jon Skvir
I can't decide if I like the cheesesteak or the roast pork they are named for more. Ordering either is an excellent choice.
Karlo Lopez
Fast paced, you can feel the passion from the workers. This was my first time here, and I would travel the 2 hours to eat here again.
Robert Sallai
I came down to Philadelphia from SUNY Binghamton to do research for my paper, and my roommate recommended this place to me, citing that it was the best food he had ever eaten, hands down. I ordered a cheesesteak with onions, and hands down, that sandwich was in the top three things I have ever tasted. The sandwich was nice and warm, the cheese perfectly gooey, and the taste of the meat was heavenly. I would 100% drop out of Binghamton and pick up school here, just for the food.
Meek C
The roasted pork with spinach and mozzarella was amazing. This was my first pork cheesesteak. I also had the large cheesesteak. This is the first time I had a sub-roll that had sesame seeds on it. It was toasted. Lost of meat but not seasoned enough for me. But good experience. Reasonably priced as well
J Bigs
Excellent steaks and pork! Top 3 in the city
Tim Marroccelli
5 star awesome. It's pricey at 15$ a sandwich but it's still good enough to be worth it.
Kestesha Williams
Best philly cheese steak I came all the way from New York just for this❤
Robert Sanchez
The absolute Best Roast Pork in The City of Philadelphia...out that name in your Google Maps and just Go...
leitning17
So good. Loved the flavor. Large portions. Staff is not very friendly, but I wasn't there to make friends. 👍😁 …
Rebeca
The cheese steak was okay. In my opinion it was on the dryer side, even with the mayo/ket I added. I did like the sharp provolone cheese on the sandwich.
Scott Pratt
Curbside sandwich shack that advertises its self as " James Beard award winner"...
Hell yeah it is! I walked by this place for months.. ALWAYS a line. Finally stopped with my son. We split an ultimate pork and ultimate cheese steak. F#@+!ng awesome.
Doesn't get better.
Do yourself a favor, get both.
Juniper Sweeney
Truly some of the best roast pork and cheese steak you can get. The pork is very well seasoned and comes pretty drenched in juices, with the seeded roll holding up to it. I usually get rabe on my roast pork (spinach is the only green at John's though) so I had a sandwich with just pork. Absolutely fantastic, small size is plenty for a big apatite. The cheese steak is large (12 oz) and comes on seeded bread. The cheese and onions are nicely folded in and it is a very rich sandwich. The firmer texture sets it apart from other big players, as the roll and the meat are very substantial to bite through. The cheese steak takes about 10 minutes but is worth the wait
KAREN STRATOTI
Meh...should be five stars! lots of meat stuffed in a fantastic roll! Unfortunately long long wait time. It's all lumped together, the food and customer service. I did not like the pork w/spinach but the others liked their cheese steaks. I do want to try it again and bring chick fil a sauce or yum-yum sauce for the pork sandwich. It's a Philly spot you don't want to miss!
Sara Marks
Wooooow! This places was the first cheesesteak I had in Philly. I was disappointed to not see wiz on the menu but that all changed on the first bite I took. I got the sharp provolone on the sandwich and it was nothing short of amazing and the bread was perfectly soft! I always recommend this place to people asking for the best cheesesteaks in town!
Zach Kershew
They Definitely have an "A " teir cheese steak with a fantastic Italian pork sandwich as well
Ben Hutchinson
Don't eat beef but Philly loves me too. Pork is great and worth the short trek from the other mainstays.
Malcolm Rowe
Very long wait. They need workers post pandemic, so if you know someone unemployed and then there. Now for the sandwich I ordered 2 chicken cheese steaks with sharp provolone, onions, and peppers. I received 2 regular cheese steaks. Size was good food was hot. Needs more cheese and seasoning. Would go again.
ron alston
Taste was spot on as usual but my large sandwich look more like a small. been a customer for 15 years. Hopefully that was just a 1 time thing
Dom Gian
This place makes some of the absolute best cheesesteaks I've ever had, didn't really bother to try other cheesesteak shops until I ate here and no other shop compares to the quality this place gives. John and all of the kitchen staff are really awesome, funny people who do the best they can. Although some may tell you there's an issue with handling big lines, I do not believe that is John or his staff's fault; it's just really easy for the average customer to ignore the fact there's quite alot of people ahead of em whom are also waiting for their food. It's easy to forget, especially when you're hungry.
Kieran Campbell
One of the classics of incredible Philly sandwich places.
Jamil
cheesesteak made to perfection. Best cheesesteak in Philly.
Shane Holmes
Excellent local place. The roast pork sandwich is unique and tasted amazing.
Joe Davis (Chilly)
My personal favorite cheesesteak. Order at least an hour ahead. They are busy.
Amber Baxter
Total hole in the wall with delicious Honey Mustard Chicken Cheesesteak! I had yet to find a cheesesteak that I actually liked and this one totally hit the spot!
rob miller
Love the new outside ordering. Best sandwich on the east coast maybe the country. Get the pork with broccoli it will change your life.
N G
My favorite cheesesteak! So I’m from outside of Philly and I’ve had my share of cheesesteaks and what most of them have in common is the lack of seasoned meat and an appropriate cheese to meat ratio.
This cheesesteak is pure perfection. Seasoned meat, fresh seeded roll, and the right amount of cheese. Thanks I’ve finally found my spot!!
James Lee
One of best cheese steak in Philly
Ante Logarusic
Probably the best cheesesteak sandwich I've ever had. Very generously portioned. You may have to wait a bit as they're made to order but well worth it.
Eric
Cool place for a cheese steak very good. but the owners are not that customer friendly.
Zee Gee
My girlfriend wanted to check out John’s Roast Pork after hearing mention of it in a Joshua Weissman YouTube video on cheesesteaks. She ordered a cheesesteak with peppers and onions and I got the roast pork, and we shared fries. I enjoyed the roast pork, but that cheesesteak was OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD!
The ratio of meat, cheese, and veggies was excellent, the seasoning was flavorful, and the bread complemented the inside bits perfectly. My only wish is some better salt and seasoning for the fries, but they were cooked very well otherwise. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Philly!
Note: we came around 11am on a Tuesday and only waited about 10 minutes for our food.
George Messick
The best keep secret is the bacon egg and cheese. If it is your first time, get the cheesesteak and the pork. But if you want a great change go for 🥓 🥚 🧀
alexa szober
Amazing food! Best cheesesteak i’ve ever had!!
Mark Romano
Best cheesesteak and roast pork sandwich in Philadelphia period
If I had a suggestion... They need great fries with real cheddar cheese sauce. That would be killer.
Bram Van Den Broecke
Fantastic Philly Cheese Steak sandwich
Shawn Presbery
Most people won't agree but this place is over rated. Ordered the roast pork was a solid 6 reading terminal better. Cheese steak was a 4 and over priced. Geno's better.
Peggy Aldrich
Absolutely worth going a little out of our way. Best Philly steak I've ever had!
J B
2nd time there since they redid the front. First cheesesteak there since they redid the front. WHAT HAPPENED? Cheesesteak and fries were super greasy in the not-so-good edible way. I LOVE JRP. Long time customer, but this experience left me disappointed
Scott Dunbar
Incredible cheese steak and roast pork sandwiches!
Sammy Champagne
Absolutely amazing. Used to live 20 mins from johns, now i drive 1.5 hours to get there. No words needed, just go. 👌👌👌 …
Mayra Mayra
It’s the best cheese steak i had but we love too go there eat every time we go too Philadelphia I live 2 hours away I’m a little upset that it says they close at 5pm but we rush over and they were already closed at 4;40pm when google says 5 pm :(
Carole Wagner
By far the BEST roast pork and cheesesteaks anywhere in the city or on the outskirts.
Jason Nast
On my Lord for realz the best Philly Cheese Steak I've ever had!!! Don't come here unless you are ready to be ruined for all others!!!!
Jon Kent
My wife and I ordered a cheese steak and the famous roast pork with spinach and provolone. The cheese steak was a very good cheese steak top five for me, but that pork sandwich? It literally put a smile on my face while eating it. THAT should be the sandwich Philly is known for. Hands down best I've ever had.
Steve Demou
The raost pork is fantastic! But the cheese steak is hands down the best! Seasoned perfectly, onions mixed within and just a great balance of cheese that doesn't over power. The rolls have a great crunch also.. Call ahead recommended.
Kilene Harness
Amazing food. Hot, fresh, and full flavored 😋 😍
Eve
Awesome delicious 😋 pork & steak sandwiches. …
Abraham Chahla
A year ago I heard this place made a mean sandwich so I drove out with some friends for a few hours to try it. We got the cheese steak and the roast pork sandwich. The cheese steak was good but not super delicious based on how much hype John's gets but the roast pork tasted off. Maybe it was our own taste buds or the cheese wasn't in the best condition we weren't sure but the sandwich tasted awful.
George Marrero
Best roast pork in south Philly they also have steaks cheese chicken steaks hamburgers what your hearts desires and breakfast sandwiches plenty to choose from. Give them a try and you'll be back for more highly recommend.
Annie
One of the best cheese steaks in Philly! The sesame bun is perfect and American cheese perfectly on the well chopped steak. The only negative thing I can say about this place is that the location isn't ideal for center City dwellers/tourists. But it is worth the trip. They do take credit card and have free street parking.
John Tyson
I took my mom here because I heard the cheese steak was the best in the city. Definitely the best that I've had.
Austin Stewart
This place has some of the best sandwiches in Philly. The cheese steak is awesome but the real winner is the roast pork. Take advantage of the time in line and figure out your order because it moves really fast inside and they don't have time to answer a million questions.
Daniel Rosenhaus
Amazing roast pork, so tender, the best. Cheesesteaks are just ok though, especially given the hype.
Shuffle Shuffle (Shuffle)
We live close by and have heard great things, but have never visited. We decided to try it for lunch. I went for their specialty, the roast pork sandwich. My wife had a cheese steak. It's a tiny hut and was very crowded. Unless you've been there before ordering is a bit of a challenge and the size has much to do with it. The pork, although very tasty, was a bit dry. The bun was saturated with gravy. The cheese steak was very good. My wife said not as good as her favorite. Sandwiches ran $12 for large.
Zob Rombie
If you want the classic Philly Cheese Steak, this is probably one of the best places where you'll find it.
Chris Booker
I once worked at Finn Motor Lines. Anyone that remembers,I was directly across the street when you used to come inside. I was telling the person that I was with that I had not stepped foot on that property since 1985 when I used to come across the street for my morning sandwich and coffee. But then came lunch. The Hot roast beef and cheese was as good then as it was the other day. Another iconic landmark with good food and service that has managed to survive the time and covid. God Bless John's and his family. Here's to the future. C. Booker.
Atiba Sonnebeyatta
THE BEST PHILLY CHEESESTEAK I'VE HAD! Listen, I'm not originally from Philly but I frequent there and consider myself a connoisseur of the food. I'd heard so much but finally went there and let me tell you it definitely didn't disappoint at all. Surprisingly they weren't too busy and they were just churning out delicious steaks. I rarely give 5 stars but man did they deserve it!
Xavier Bunyan
It's a small local mom and pop restaurant that's super popular with the locals. Don't be intimidated by the line it moves at a decent pace and food is made fresh when you place your order. I got the Sweet Pepper Cheese Steak with Sharp Provolone and it was amazing!! It's worth the hype. Depending on how busy it is they may or may not let you pay with a card. My only complaint is they do run out of the Roast Pork often because it's a top seller and they're a small operation.
Lawrence Otter Esq
Cheesesteak wit, sharp provolone, Carangi roll, hot sauce and this is the second best sandwich
Jeremy Poe
Not sure what their talkin' about...I paid with a card at the window. It wasn't cash only when I was there. Anyway...I've been to every single well-known Cheesesteak joint in Philly...D'Alessandro's, Jim's, Tony Luke's, SQ Philips, Sonny's, and the way-overrated Geno's and Pat's. SQ Philips was my favorite until I tried this place. I called ahead and waited over an hour dodging crazy Philly traffic to pick up my order. It was worth it! So delicious! Some of the other places were all hype. This place lived up to it 👍
Tommy Jordan
Enjoyed the cheese steak more than I enjoyed the pork. Both were VERY good. Awesome onion rings.
mikebing1230
Top 3 best cheesesteak in Philly! Owner is amazing and love his job and the customers! Another thing it’s Covid time go cry about a wait time elsewhere, when your the best you got a line! Be patient! this place is the best and has massive demand. Love the place and the owner. Must go
Peter Benda
The food was fire. Best cheesesteak I’ve ever had.
Daniel Montenegro
Very close to being my favorite cheese steak restaurant out of the three I tried during my time in Philly (that honor went to Woodrow's Sandwich Shop). Inside is very small with limited outdoor seating. Ordering is a little hectic with the staff understandably trying to get through everyone quickly, but everyone is friendly in the process.
The sandwich itself is delicious but does not have cheese wiz like traditional Philly Cheese steak sandwiches go. This is not a negative since everyone has their own particular preference when it comes to their interpretation of the perfect sandwich. John's Roast Pork is one not to miss out on.
Wissam Raji
One of the best philly cheese stake sandwiches ever. Roast pork sandwiches are also superb. It gets packed but service is quick. A cocky staff but a couple of minutes pass easily. Highly recommended for a quick bite.
Mike Vanim
I have had many cheese steaks and roast pork sandwiches in my life. I never knew what I was missing until I had theirs.
The cheese steak was without question the best I have ever had. The cooks have a great system in place, there is always a line out the door, yet the line moves incredibly fast considering each meal is cooked to order.
Richard Wagner
Been coming here many years. I always get either a cheese steak or the roast pork which in my opinion and most of the food polls is among the very best in the city. They have seating but in this place it's really more about the food than the atmosphere and they never disappoint. If you're looking for an old school Philly style sandwich joint then look no further. They also serve breakfast!!
chloe cummins
AMAZING CHEESETEAK!!! Just really long line and then additional long wait after order.. just be prepared to wait 20+ … tasty. Could use a little more too it/ roll was good! Expensive prices though
Alex Kolstoe
Excellent cheese steak. Meat is perfect, cheese is perfect, and the sesame seed bun is perfect.
Lamar
This is the best roast pork sandwich I've had in Philly. They have longshots to add to your sandwich as well. If you're in Philly, this is where you should try Philly's best sandwich.
Matt Robbins
Ummm. The best. Period.
Joanne Jones
Love the cheesesteaks. Unfortunately, we were stopping for lunch and they are closed for vacation.
Steven Vona
So there are many factors that go into one of my reviews. We will talk about a few here.
First off the sandwiches are all good. The namesake sandwich (roast pork) is probably the worse sandwich they serve in my opinion. That's not to say it's bad, it is still a good sandwich, but it is depreciated by the awesome cheese steak. Their cheese steak is the most under rated in Philly. I would dare say the best South Philly has to offer. If you go here and only get the pork, you will probably enjoy it, but your doing yourself a disservice.
Second, the cleanliness and atmosphere, of which there is none. It's basically a hole in the wall where you get screamed at for not knowing their rediculous line up and order routine. People are stuffing your sandwich into wax paper with bare hands and other customers have to hand it to you. Then you have to eat outside next to a chemical plant. All that being said the cheese steak is still worth it!
Third, the cheese steak. Just do it!
shane smykal
Called ahead and got through after about the 4th time, Lady on the phone was great and quick. Amazing cheesesteak. Got it with American Cheese and Onions. Great prices and was easy to grab going up the window. If you forget to call there is some places across the street you can walk through if your waiting. Great place will definitely go again. Make sure you call ahead and order, some people in line didn't know! No walkups! Great place!
Kenyaita Hodge
The roast pork sandwich and onion rings were great! We added sharp provolone and spinach to the sandwiches. We will try the cheesesteaks next! The food was ready in 15 minutes.
Tammy Wilson
The Italian chicken cheese steak with Sharp provolone & spinach is outstanding..
The portions are big enough to have ½ for lunch the next day..
The chicken has an amazing flavor you don't need anything on it~ no ketchup...nothing it's incredible!
There is a little bit of a wait because they prepare your sandwich fresh..
The price is alitte more than your average pizza place but it is well worth it!
Definitely a favorite of ours..
Really friendly staff as well..🍴
Curtis Thompson
The roast pork sandwiches were good... my only gripe was half of the staff were friendly the other half staff members weren't friendly at all. I took my mom here for us too mention it was our first time we felt very unwelcomed I came here off recommendation from a business owner in the neighborhood. how a person is greeted when entering a business says a lot about the establishment. I was stared at like I should have never walked in period. I came from one part of the city to another just too see what the hype was I'm just glad the sandwich was worth the trip not the treatment
Michael Kellett
In a city filled with memorable cheesesteak shops, John’s Roast Pork stand alone at the top. You will dream of the flavor packed steak bursting from the fresh baked sesame roll. If you don’t know, now you know!
Randy Spalasso
Johns was on our bucket list when we took our eastern trip from California. John did not disappoint. Working hard in front of the grill, he made time to talk with me and thank me for stopping by. I had the cheesesteak and my wife had his pork sandwich. Both were unbelievable. Can’t wait to come back. First stop- Johns !!!
Sean Bryan
When people ask me where to get a sandwich in philly I point them to Johns Roast Pork. Absolutely delicious sandwiches! You can’t go wrong at Johns. If you’re in the area this is a must for sandwich. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Full of taste and flavor. Great service, reasonably priced. Don’t waste your time and some of the big name places you see all over TV, just go to Johns!
Bevin Journey
Speedy, friendly service. Roast pork sandwich was a little dry, but overall delicious - bread is especially awesome. I recommend the banana peppers, spinach, and extra sharp provolone. Worth the wait, if there is one! Seating outside is great for a nice day.
Joseph Milo
Don't go anywhere else!!! Best Cheesesteak by far. Served on a nice piece of bread, quality steak with the cheese and onions mixed in. Looks clean with friendly people behind the counter. We hit a few other joints recommended by some locals, but they weren't even close. Some of the other places looked dirty, some the steak itself wasn't that great. If you come to town looking for a great sandwich here it is.
Andrew Rhoads
Busy lunchtime rush, no worries with the wait.
Ordered a sweet pepper sharp provolone cheese. Roll was good, a bit chewy, sweet peppers were not sweet - run of the mill pickled green peppers, maybe?- and provolone has some bite to it but not much. Steak was tasty.
Overall I could've gone for more flavor from something. My sandwich was a bit bland and dry.
Trina McKinzie
Read a lot of online reviews that said to avoid the tourist traps and eat here instead. It did not disappoint! We ordered the traditional cheese steak with american and we had one with the sharp provolone. It was a perfect cheese steak. The line was reasonable but it was busy right up until closing. Would definitely suggest this place.
Erick Sealfon
Roast pork sandwich has a lot of meat, small size is a great portion. Cheesesteak was good. I generally like sharp provolone but it overpowered the meat so I recommend getting the mild. The service was very efficient for being a small place.
Mayhell Coronado
House of the famous Philly Cheesesteak. I wasn't overly impressed, but overall it was a good experience.
Shontay Stevenson
As other reviewers mentioned, the best pulled pork sandwich. The meat was well seasoned and juicy. I had it with the sharp cheese. My husband had the cheesesteak and said it was the best he ever tasted. It was quite delicious also with American cheese. No cheese whiz here, but you won't miss it. The Italian bread with sesame seeds takes the sandwiches up a notch. We visited Wednesday afternoon, there was no wait and outdoor seating was available. The sandwiches are good sized and decently priced.
David Oakley
a few hot points on the cheesesteak:
The meat is fantastic. A ton of flavor.
Not having wiz is crazy. The American sticks to your mouth to much, the provolone won't melt thru in the same way. Your leaving the right option off the table.
of the cheeses cheese wiz keeps the best, and they use a lot of cheese for each sanddwich, kinda just feels like they're being snobs about it.
the bun has a really nice texture and the meat/bun ratio is perfect. Im not partial to the sesame seeds but my girlfriend is.
these guys chip their onions fine and there are very few, to the point I couldn't taste them in a lot of bites.
all in all a real good cheesesteak and worth checking out before heading somewhere with the good cheese
Theresa M. Hernandez
Delicious! We randomly ate here while exploring. Nice staff. Good location. My picky eater likes this place too!
Tanese Empress
Went yesterday we ordered the philly sweet pepper steak and cheese steak they were very good. The line was long but the service was quick, the restaurant itself is very small on the inside but they do have seating on the outside. In order to see the price of the food you have to look at the paper menu not the menu on the wall. The restaurant do take credit card and cash as well, worth the trip to Philadelphia to try their food.
Scott Laine
This little sandwich shop has earned every star all the praise it’s received. I would define this place as “LEGIT” and will never come to Philly and not visit.
Funny anecdote...Young lady took my order. “I’ll have a roast pork sandwich and a chicken parm hero, not too much cheese.” She looks at me and says.”ok, got it. What’s a hero?” :-) I responded “Grinder, sub, hoagie or any sandwich on long bread” order was perfect!
Vincent Mancuso Jr.
Very good cheesesteak and pork sandwiches. I'll update review after I try other sandwiches.
Justin Fish
If you think the only Philly sandwich worth trying is a cheesesteak, think again. This place has the most amazing Italian roast pork sandwich which in my opinion is at least as good as a Philly cheesesteak, and I love me a Philly cheesesteak. Their other sandwiches(including cheesesteaks) are great too.
Laura Sybers
My first Philly cheese steak and it was very good. Long wait in line, and the workers weren't very friendly.
Anna Knight
Saw this place on a food show prior to my visit to Philly, and managed to get there to eat. Let me say, Philly is full of good food, but the pork sandwich from here was the best thing I ate the entire trip. The pork was as tender and moist, the sharp provolone delicious, and loved the broccoli rabe. I could eat one of these everyday. The staff was super friendly, save for the guy taking our order, but I think it was because we were wholly unaware of how to order there and slowing things down. They're a no nonsense bunch, stereotypical east coasters in the best way possible, as someone who is accustomed to a laid back west coast vibe. If I ever get back to Philly, I'm stopping her first thing. Definitely worth the wait and enduring the cold weather for one or their sandwiches.
Stephen Ditsche
I love this place. One of the Best in Philadelphia. The Roast Pork is Amazing. The Cheese Steaks are Great. The Service is why only 4 stars. They are fine with Me but if you are new to the place & don't know you way around they are very Rude to You. They seem to care less too. They could do better in the Customer Service Department. I was eating with an outta towner just last week who was very upset at the way he was treated. He vowed to never go back. I am wondering how many others have felt this way? Step Your Game Up...
Michael Jacobs
Great roast pork, never had anything like it. Order took quite a while to come out but was so delicious. Probably in the top 3 sandwich I've ever had.
Kevin Emery
If you want an authentic and delicious cheese steak head straight to John's. There are other places in Philadelphia that make a great cheese steak but you would hard to find one as good as John's. I have not tried anything else here but all of their sandwiches pass the eye test. I want to try other things here but love cheese steaks too much.
Steve Giralt
The reviews were pretty accurate. Great cheesesteak, friendly people behind the counter, good portions. First timer here so I don't have a lot to compare to, but it was wonderful. Slip out back and throw a little hot sauce on it for the whole package.
Keep in mind if you're looking for Cheese Whiz they don't have it here, but the sharp provolone was great and very flavourful.
There's some on site parking, but we just parked at the huge shopping center across the street and walked over. No big deal.
Joel B
Probably one of the best cheese steaks in philly. DEFINITELY the best roast pork sandwich in philly. Lines can get long but they move everyone fast. There’s a line for streaks and a line for pork.
PRO TIP!
Go with a friend who likes or wants to try the steak and pork. One of you gets a cheese steak while the other gets the pork sandwich. And you split it so each of you get one of each. For best results eat at Johns or soon after. Good reheated but best fresh.
D T
Good steak sandwich, not the best. They are mainly known for their pork sandwich which I did took a bite out of the pork, but only 1 bit from it. It was good and think their speciality is pork. If you're on a steak only Philly cheese steak tour, I wouldn't reccomend this place as a stop unless you plan on having the pork.
Robert S
The best around, it's delicious, it's amazing, I have to get a pork sandwich and a steak sandwich because their both that good
PL- C
We love their sandwiches, best time to order and pick up is before and after lunchtime. Highly recommended, easier place to park the car and buy.
Jeremy Cook
Literally the very best Cheesesteak I have ever had. James Beard Awards, tons of recognition has been give to this place and I cam tell you it is for a very good reason! We drive from south of Baltimore to get these because they are that good.
David Orant
Yes!!! This place is the best in the city for cheesesteaks and the roast pork is also top notch. This place is everything the other cheesesteak joints can only wish for. Stay away from the tourist traps and get a real cheesesteak that is delicious and filling.
Alexander Saionz
This place has the best cheesesteak in all of Philadelphia. You get a nice seeded Italian Long roll with 12oz of delicious meat. Also, just had the roast pork and that was damn good as well. If you’re a visitor from out of town. This is the place you want to go.
Dondi
Sandwiches were amazing. Worth every penny!!!
David Van Benthuysen
Delicious cheese steaks, nice location with plenty of street parking. Lots of tables (inside and outside). Definitely recommended.
Eddie Bullinger
We almost got sucked into a pair of tourist traps, but luckily locals pointed us to this gem. Plan for a line... but it's worth it. I love cheesesteak, and this is the best I've had.
Michael Villamin
Great historic place. Great cheesesteak but better roast pork sandwich! A must if it’s your first time in Philly
Steve M
There is nothing that compares to this. I should play the Sinead O'Connor song as I write this. I went here over 10 years ago and I still daydream about the sandwich I had. It was a Philly Cheesesteak about as long as my forearm. Damn was it tasty. Nothing like it anywhere or since. Not Tony Luke's and not D'aNicks. Nothing will do. I must drive there for another.
Paul Tom
Heard a lot about this tiny hole in the wall place by Delaware Ave. Driven by it so many times .... Finally decided to give it a try! The line was out the door and around the block. Waited for 45 minutes .... But I was not disappointed .... Cheese steak was full of meat and so tasty. Roast pork sandwiches was juicy and flavorful.
Scott McGaha
Although the line was out the door and down to the corner on a cold November afternoon, it was definitely worth enduring the blustery weather conditions and an extended wait. My brother and I ordered two Hot Roast Pork sandwiches with sharp provolone and spinach, an order of onion rings, and a pound of Pork and Gravy. The sandwiches came on seeded bread that held up the au jus. The pork was flavorful and the sharp provolone and sauteed spinach were complimentary flavors. We enjoyed the onion rings, but the stand out here was definitely the sandwich. Highly recommended!
magdiel2491
The best of the best! Hands down! I wish I could live near!
Orly Crandall
Undeniably good sandwich but what was up with the “no more fried items”? Was there at 2pm and couldn’t get french fries because the frier was off for the day. Weird.
L Cook
Best Philly Cheesesteak in Philadelphia. The meat is chopped to a perfect consistency so the sandwich stays together and sesame seed bun is a unique touch that creates the perfect sandwich. My only complaint is how crazy the line can get. It’s unorganized sometimes and there not many places to stand while waiting for your sandwich.
Tori Lynn
Exceptional! The best Philly cheese steak we’ve ever had. Surpassed Geno’s in my opinion.
Lydia Allen
Closed until July 12th for vacation!!
Would’ve been nice to know before driving over an hour to get here.
Love this place but geez
Joshua Hunger
Sandwiches are big and the price point is spot on. My first philly cheesesteak experience in Philly and it was a good one. The place was packed inside and out. It's a small building that is laid out as well as it probably can be, but expect to be jammed in while waiting to order and get your food. This place came highly recommended by a local and I for sure see why! Get the sharp provolone cheese added!
Maria Tereza Terra
The bomb. Best sandwiches ever. A must go in Philly.
James Murphy
Arguably the best cheese steak in Philly. You know it's good when there is a line out the door almost every minute they are open. No frills place, great cheese steak, one of my go to's. Haven't had much else of the menu, but if it's anything like the cheese steak it's going to be good.
NineTailedNaruto98
One thing is stopping me from giving this place 5 stars, it might be a bigger deal to some and not at all to others. Let's start with the good, I ordered a bacon cheesesteak and fries the steak was amazing juicy tender tasted great nice amount of cheese and all around 10/10 the fires were also great crisp but not too crunchy 100% the way I personally like them. Now on to the bad, there was a massive line but it moved along quick customer service was decent but they're clear overwhelmed and it showed but don't hold it against them. My only true complaint was the bread. It was a sesame seed hero which I am not a fan of and it was a little on the hard side. I would still 100% recommend this place but keep that in mind if you are extremely picky. If they used plain Italian bread that was soft their cheesesteaks would be 11/10
Allan
Love their cheese steak, hate their customer service. They seem to forget that the customer is always right, when it comes to food service. Plus, I wasn't greeted nicely at all. Finally, They need to improve on the way they manage their system because it's a little confusing. I wanted fries but I didn't know where to order them. Word of caution: know what you want before you enter any line or they get testy with you.
Hui Chen
Made a special trip here, but discovered it was not worth the hype. Had their signature roast pork sandwich, with the sharp provolone and spinach, which actually combine to an unusual - but not necessarily pleasant - taste. The onion rings I ordered on the side were burnt. I expected this to be a substance over form dive with great food, but found the substance to be on par with the shack form.
Austin Gwiazdowski
I've had from many people that this was their favorite cheesesteak, so of course, I had to try it. It's now my favorite cheesesteak. The building itself isn't nice, but it's pretty much what you would expect from a corner lunch place that's been around for close to a hundred years. Definitely worth going to, and I'm excited to try the rest of the menu. This is authentic Philly cuisine, and I'm born and raised, so you can take it from me. Try it, you won't regret it.
Reaction Ent.
Absolutely the best cheesesteak you will ever eat! Not just the best in Philly, best in the solar system! The roast pork sandwich(with spinach and provolone) was also excellent! I guarantee you will never see cheese steaks the same again!
John Maltese
The roast pork is hard to beat... The location and atmosphere... Ehhh this edit is necessary due to the fact that after driving 30min and getting to the place 45min before closing they stopped taking orders! I won't be back. We did save the day by having the best CheeseSteak in all of phillyat MAMA'S IN BLNT HILLS...
Michael Lippincott
Cheesesteak is my favorite in Philly. You can taste the onions by breathing in the steam from the steak. Cheese and onions are LIBERALLY mixed in throughout the steak. Ample serving size.
Roast pork was good and was worth trying while there but not on the same level as the steak imo.
T W
We've been to Philly many times for various things and have always looked for a good cheesesteak. We have finally found it!!! Best ever!!! Don't let the looks be the judge their capabilities. It's an older joint, but had the most delicious steak. Not greasy, just perfect!!!
Frank Gioffre
I heard good things about the roast pork and had to try it. For my taste I would rate it as just average. The pork sits in a juice/water bath before they put it on the roll so it is rather bland. It also leads to a really soft and soggy roll that is not very appetizing to me.
The store itself is rather small, with a few outdoor tables for seating.
Overall, not a place I would go out of my way for.
Arlene Satz
Expect a line but it moves quickly. We got a large roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone and fries. Roast Pork is sliced thin and waiting for sandwiches in gravy. I found the pork dry and not particularly flavorful.
Disappointed.
DiNics in Reading terminal market is the best.
RytaAlycee Richardson
I Haven't Been To John's Since The 90's And I Forgot What I Was Missing!! Had A Pretty Large Order And The Woman That Took Our Order(Over The Phone Due To COVID) Was Pleasant And The Order Was Correct!! As I Remembered The Food Was Fresh And Scrumptious!! Will Return In The Very Near Future!! Thanks John's 🌻 …
Travis Andrews
I was on tour with my band from Texas and a coworker of mine from Philly recommended this restaurant for a good cheesesteak. Not really a fan of the cheesesteak typically but I wanted the true experience of the sandwich. My God it was amazing, we ended up there about an hour before closing so the line was short and they even gave a little philly attitude (was actually expecting that and added to the experience). Amazing food. 10/10 recommend
Michael Mazie
Pork was moist and tasty. The sharp provolone was on point. Great roll and the long hots were perfect. As an added bonus the mayor of New York was there. Wonderful food and a Philly classic

BEST CHEESESTEAKS IN PHILLY! We got 2cheesesteaks with fried onions & they were scrumptious. No one in this city does it this good. We weren't there for pork but I've eaten their roast pork before and also Best in Philly. You want a good sandwich? You go to Johns. They're a James Beard Award Winner- that says it all.
Kellan Spencer
Best cheese steak in the city, don't @me
Andrew Brown
This place only has outdoor seating but it was 100% worth it. Every thing is made to order and the cheesesteak was absolute awesome. Anytime I'm in Philly I will be stopping by this place. There's no parking at the place but you can park on the street or there's a Lowe's right across the train tracks that you can park in.
Edwin Kennedy
The best pork sandwiches in Philly are found here. I intend to try them all and you will have a delightful time if you do the same. Comfortable atmosphere and friendly people.
Shane Ferrell
Best cheesesteak in the city by a mile. The roll is baked in house as opposed to most other places who use Amoroso’s, but John’s roll is much more flavorful. The steak itself was delicious on its own and was boosted by the provolone which gave just the right amount of gooey-ness.
Cash only and call ahead

Their Roast pork sandwich is the best in the city. The bread is soft, the pork is spiced and roasted to perfection! I only go to that part of town during open hours so I don't miss an opportunity to get a sandwich!!
Hannah Erica
I heard good things about this place, so I decided to give it a try. It's a simple place, that's not much to look at. There's seating outside with umbrellas. I ordered the roast pork sandwich, because I had a taste for pulled pork. This was not the same thing, and the cashier explained that to me. It was slow cooked in its juices, no bbq sauce. The small sandwich and a 20oz bottle of Mountain Dew was 9 dollars and change. It was a little too plain for me.

Hands down—this is the absolute best place to get Philly cheesesteaks and Roast Pork sandwiches. It melts in your mouth and just thinking about it makes me salivate, lol! It’s so good that I am willing to drive two hours just for there sandwiches. If you do go, make sure you are aware of their hours of operation and I believe that they only accept cash only. ENJOY!
John Cuorato Jr.
Oh man, get here right now if you have never been. I had heard unequivocally from every person I asked that they have the best cheesesteaks in the city. I’ve lived in Philadelphia my whole life and had never been to this gem. This steak was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Gooey, perfectly seasoned, crispy soft roll. Get here ASAP.
MICHAEL JAMES
Hands down the best cheese steak in the city … American without ! Made to order so you ARE gonna wait … but each sandwich is a personal creation you John and his grill men …
Brian Sevs
I keep telling my self I will try the roast pork here. But everytime I get in line I HAVE to order the cheesesteak... Man is that thing good. And its huge! Very flavorful, juicy-not greasy. Only downfall I'd sometimes the mushrooms are not grilled, kind of just throw on last minute. But still a 5 star, and top 3 cheesesteak in the city.
Bernard Kok
Ordered 6 sandwiches got 5 :(
Drove to Philly really wanted a cheese steak so why not. Gotta do phone orders due to covid about 45 minutes. I know why it's voted best 1 so far. I tried to roast pork sandwich with spinach it couldnt compare to the Philly

This place is an institution of excellence. The staff is always as friendly as possible, the food is amazing, and there's a reason they're constantly voted "best sandwiches in the city."
If you visit the city, this is the place to go for either a cheesesteak or a roast pork sandwich.
Mahmoud Yag
I’ve lived in Philly most of my life and never been to this place. I came here after seeing Dave’s review from barstool. Number one problem here they don’t have cheese wiz! That’s the only way I like my cheesesteak. So I got it with American cheese. It was ok, nothing wow.
Erin Kelly
I never understood the hype of Philly Cheesesteaks and quite honestly was over them until this place (granted they dont do whiz and their rolls are a different style than your traditional Philly steak). It was hands down the best cheesesteak ive ever had and I will be going back every time I'm in Philly. Also the Pork sandwich is to die for as well. Everything about their food is fantastic.
HOWL3R77
Best cheesesteaks ever. (better than the roast pork in my opinion, still great though!).
•hot
•generous amount of meat and cheese
•fast considering the usual amount of people
We make the trip every time we come to the Northeast area, well worth it!!
stephanie nelson
My first time there...recommended by my co-worker. Let me just say this, I HAVE NEVER HAD A BETTER TASTING CHEESE STEAK IN MY LIFE!! I could not get over the fact that each bite was tastier than the last!! I STRONGLY recommend getting the Chicken Steak Italiano(provolone and spinach). O.M.G!!!! Price is right and sandwich STUFFED!! Definitely going back! Maybe next time I'll get that famous pork sandwich so many people were ordering! 🤔😍
Robert Shaheen
Still the best! Amazing cheesesteaks and roast pork sandwiches. Yes, they do accept CREDIT CARDS, I've used one there myself. The staff is sometimes extremely busy, don't expect a conversation, they are working hard to fill orders.
Liz Noone
Food here is absolutely delicious! Hands down my favorite cheesesteak in Philly. Behind the counter things can get a little chaotic and the the older female cashier has been rude to me on more than one occasion, but I’ll put up with the abuse for the food. There is plenty of parking and outdoor seating here too.
Nakaii Dine Yazzie
A fantastic Philly staple!!!! I actually shared my sandwich so it's a large size, I ordered a philly steak sandwich.
Don K
Best Spot in Philly!!
Hands down
Jason Hearn
It was my first time there. Got their roast pork sandwich of course. Got it with spinach (not broccoli rabe) and sharp provolone. Although it ties for best ever (tasty, juicy, and the bread was fresh), I wouldn't say it's like nothing I've ever had before. I don't think I'd go there again just because it's always out of my way since it's in the middle of nowhere (industrial area)
RonBurgAM
Fantastic sandwich .Juicy pork and a little moisture in the bun. Greens were spinach and very good with the traditional sharp provolone. Fairly priced at $8 for the Roast Pork Italian .They do take CCs.
Zachariah Lloyd
I wanted something different when I got there and ordered the eggplant parm sandwich and holy cow it was delicious!!!! Also tried the meatballs and my wife got the roast pork with spinach and sharp provolone and it was extraordinary. Wish they were opened on Sundays but wow, please go, you will not be disappointed. (Also, the best cheesesteak in Philly.... not kidding!)
Chad Paragas
Never had a bad sandwich from here! I've had the Roast Pork, Roast Beef and Honey Mustard Cheesesteak. All delicious! I've yet to try a regular Cheesesteak but can definitely recommend the Honey Mustard Cheesesteak.
Chan Sohn
Been in Philly countless times and can't believe it's only today I finally visited John's Roast Pork. Had the Roast Pork with sharp provolone and spinach and a Mushroom Cheesesteak with American... first off, AMAZING!! Cheesesteak is so good, explains the line out the door. The Roast Pork sandwich was great too, super stuffed with pork.. delicious, but in honesty I preferred the Cheesesteak between the two, juicy and cheesy throughout. Don't delay!
David Weintraub
It’s the best cheesesteak I’ve ever had, and I’ve had all the Big Guns as well as worked in a joint.
Seeded roll bread is perfect.
Ribbons of beef; not finely diced. Onions are a perfect size.
Had the Sharp Prov (they don’t have whiz - not into it).
People often say ‘It’s just a cheesesteak!’
Have this one and you won’t be saying that anymore.
Oh, and the Roast Pork and fries are also amazing.
Wish they had coke; not Pepsi.
Schuyler Wavrek
Found this place by accident. The bus took a detour and we went by. The line was out the door so I figured it was probably pretty good. It was excellent! Had the roast pork sandwich with spinach. I thought that was an odd thing to put on a sandwich but it was very good.
Ernest Anderan
This place is a little "shack" next to railroad tracks but but don't be deceived by its "dive" appearance. The roast pork sandwiches are to die for! Take extra napkins and don't be surprised when the juice starts running half way down your arm! Next time I go I gotta try a cheesesteak....along with the poke!
Mark Gollihur
Cheesesteaks get all the press in Philly, but the city is also very well known for its outstanding roast pork sandwiches. And this little shop off the beaten path is a big reason why. Sandwiches are to-die-for, and on a busy day you might think you may die waiting in line, but they're actually pretty efficient and get you a fantastic sandwich pretty quick.
David Ling
Stopped by to try their roast pork and roast beef sandwiches, also added cheese and spinach on top. Very good overall and it's proximity to Ikea is a plus.
Jamin Scott-Gatewood
You have to love the perfect CheeseSteak I do and Johns CARRIES just that the perfect melt in Your mouth cheesesteaks. Roast beef I highly recommend anytime. Fast service long line no problem the knock a line right out with two service counters OMG I nees another Steak now.
Christian Espino
Best cheesesteak in Philadelphia and also very underrated. Cheesesteak italian amazing!
Ryan Lynn
What more can you say about John’s other than they make an outstanding cheesteak. I bring customers and out of towers here all the time. The roast pork sandwich is also top notch. Do yourself a favor and come here for lunch, it’s well worth the trip!
Myles Guevremont
Had to get the flagship roast pork sandwich on my first time here. I can't wait to come back and try some other options. The line was pretty short and moved quickly on Thursday for lunch, but the cashier told me that weekends are an absolute Zoo.
Jen Ash
After thinking I knew all the hidden secret eateries in Philadelphia, a co-worker took me to this little "shack" of a restaurant for a pork sandwich. First, it is hidden, second the staff and patrons were very friendly and third it was clean and organized. Even the gentleman behind us in line who shared his story about how long he's been coming to John's Roast Pork (over 50 years). The sandwich was awesome but I could only eat a quarter of this huge flavorful sandwich. John's Roast Pork has captured a new customer. Good food, good people who could ask for anything more!
John Barnhart
Had the roast pork sandwich with provolone and it was sooo good! Unfortunately their fryer was on the fritz so no fries and they were short handed so long wait but it was worth it
Pat Perry
Your first visit will be surprising. Customers jammed into a little ordering room. People shouting out their orders to counter staff who shout right back. Hand written signs directing folks where to shout, based on their order.
They must be doing something right though. The room was packed. The small outdoor eating area (under a roof with plastic sheets for doors) was packed.
I thought the steak sandwich was ok. Messy though. Grab a lot of napkins.
Sean B
This is one of the most unbelievable sandwich shops I've ever been. It's like a fish monger for sandwiches!
Two must tries.
Roast pork- spinach and sharp provolone
Cheese steak- onions and American cheese.
NO better experience in Philadelphia for the cheese steaks. Forget the whiz!!!!!!
Jolet Larracas
The cheesesteak sandwiches we ordered were the best!! My sons loved them. We wanted to go back for more before leaving Philadelphia but they were closed Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Will definitely go back next time.
Michael Clancy
Hands down the best sandwich in Philly. I had all three of their specialty ' s the roast beef, pork and cheesesteak. All are absolutely amazing. There is only one other place that comes close and it's in North philly. Johns is where I want to be. If your not from Philly look for the signs and don't be scared to ask. People in line are happy to be there and happy to help. Cooks are in a hurry but will guide you, especially if you tell them your not from around here. They'll want you back and once you've eaten so will you! Authentic Philly style all around! Thank you John's Roast Pork
Linda Laudano
John's Roast Pork is the best pork sandwiches in Philly. Little place mostly take out some places to eat out front or in a enclosed area. Well worth it. Brought a friend from Texas the best she ever had at John's Roast Pork
Violet Maddox
This place makes the best cheese stake in all of philly. Their roast pork sandwich is pretty awesome too. I honestly love the food there and go there every time I want a cheese steak, pork sandwich, or pizza steak. I would totally recommend it!
Jimmy Schneider
I've had the roast pork sandwich before and it was fantastic, but it strangely never crossed my mind to ever order a cheesesteak. As my cousin and I have been hopping around, testing all of the favorite cheesesteaks for our own comparisons, the one from John's Roast Pork instantly became my favorite. The meat was flavorful, the cheese (they do not serve wiz) was perfectly melted, and the bread was crispy on the outside.
Wal .S
A superlative Philly cheese steak and sandwich restaurant with award winning quality food . I of course highly recommend . Definitely a decent five star eatery.
Anthony Lopez Garcia
Excellent Cheesesteak w/ Sharp provolone, meat well cooked and made, tasty and juicy af. The sharp provolone did the trick, ordering was a bit confusing but maybe it’s because I’m a simpleton but having two lines made the service much more confusing if you were not a regular. They have one line for steaks and one for the roast pork but in such a small area things can get quite hectic but for the service and quality worth awhile in my opinion.
P.S. the Roast Pork sandwich w/ everything on is fantastic as well, don’t knock it until you try it !
Kevin Thompson
Great cheesesteak. I will definitely go back. My son loved it too.
Adrian Patrascu
Great little place. Great vibe and the cheesesteak was much larger than Tony Luke's. I certainly can't complain about that. Unfortunately, it just doesn't taste as good. Frankly, it was quite bland by comparison. I plan to go back but, next time, I'll try the roast pork. Giving it 4 stars for now because I assume that beef just isn't their specialty.
Lynda Henderson
Please. There’s no comparison! Get in line (and I mean LINE) and be patient! These things are NOT rushed. They don't PRE-MAKE anything. They take about 15 orders at a time and then start to cook your cheesesteaks. Each one is like a gift from above! IF you are in a hurry, you may want to get a pork sandwich or roast beef. Also excellent, but the cheesesteak is Unbelievable! Generous helpings of tender steak with each piece being perfectly enveloped in glorious cheese so that not one morsel is dry. the roll... not too crusty but not too soft, seeded of course. I get mine with sauteed onions and sometimes mushrooms, but honestly, you can't go wrong. This place is the real deal and worth the wait. Please people - if it is busy - don't get Fries or anything else. Just grab a bag of chips and go. Thank you!
Jason Parker
Possibly one of the best cheesesteaks and roast pork sandwiches in the city.
Tim Albert
Awesome place. Been around for 90+ years and I think it may be the same family too.
Their roast pork is home-made, in house and is delicious. Get the Italian with spinach and provolone cheese. I think they have sharp also but I prefer the regular softer provolone, which they also have. Sesame seeded rolls they use are perfect for that sandwich as well as their cheesesteak sandwiches. Speaking of cheesesteaks they make a great one. Much much better than the "tourist traps" like Geno's and Pat's. I use to say Tony Luke's, around the corner from them, were pretty equal, but Tony's has really dropped in quality and consistency in my opinion. John's has always consistently produced a very well made Cheese steak and also an excellent hot roast pork sandwich. You won't be dissapointed!
Wayne Morra
Delicious roast pork sandwiches. Suggest adding provolone. The rolls are excellent. Picnic tables outside, but definitely not alfresco. Can be crowded, b/c it's so good. Closes early afternoon. Bring cash. Also if you want a "real" Philly cheesesteak, John's has them too.
Aaron Baker
Had steak sandwiches here with another guy from Chicago. We had already tried a competitor's steak sandwich earlier that day. John's was far and away superior, and certainly the best steak sandwich I've ever had. Quality all around. Worth going out of the way.
Jonathan Cooley
They were incredibly rude. One of my friends had to wait over 20 minutes for them to 'find' her sandwich. It had been made but her name was not called out, it was instead placed above the grill. When my friend approached the counter and asked where her sandwich was, a woman told her that the sandwiches are not made as soon as they're ordered, and she did not even bother to ask for my friend's name to check if her sandwich had been made. After asking again, they retrieved her sandwich for her.
The food was excellent; but the customer service was extremely poor.
Felix Catalosi
Great Cheesesteak, load with good quality meat, great bread and service it's always fabulous. If you want to take a picture visiting other places by name, go ahead however if you want to eat the best Cheesesteak in the business go to John's.
Valeria Leon
Sandwiches tasted good; however, customer service is really poor. There is no a “please” or “thank you” in their vocabulary. Kind of rude with the people waiting outside. I witnessed how treated an elderly customer: “30 minutes! 30 minutes!” “no!” “Wait there!”. I figured they can add more kindness and they would triple their customer base.
Gregory Faggion
Worth the wait, the bread can't be best. Staff is amazing line out the door and they are still pleasant to customers.
Andrea Thomas
Johns roast pork is by far and away the best cheesesteak place in Philadelphia. Anyone who hasn’t been there - Cannot begin to judge this establishment. From the meat to the roll to the condiments, it’s outstanding.
I recently did a cheesesteak excursion with my boyfriend when he was visiting my home town because he wanted to taste a real cheesesteak. The only place I would ever take him was John’s Roast Pork :).
RJ Spadaccino
Went there because they have very good reviews. Roast pork sandwich was made to order but the roll was so soggy it fell apart. Sandwich was bland overall. The only positive is it was a big packed sandwich for the price.
Marie Perry
Absolutely amazing, they serve the must have Cheesesteak while in Philadelphia. John's is consistently great every time I go there. This is not a tourist trap, it's where the locals go for an awesome sandwich at a great price.
Drew H
Pretty good but won't put mayo on sandwich. Just gave mayo packets. Which always lowers the quality of you like mayo on your cheesesteak.
Chuck Bowser
I have had many cheesesteak subs in my life but never had one in PHL until today. I looked up places online for the best and this was recommended. It was easy to find and park. Got through the line quickly. The sub was pretty good. Definitely top ten I have ever had.
Anita Lantz
Excellent pork sandwich and my husband says they have the best cheesesteaks in Philly. Weird ordering process- but that's all part of the experience. Expect a wait, but know that it will be worth it!
Krazie Angel
The hype was way too much.. I've had better... today pork definitely had better .. cheesesteak definitely had better..also never have no drinks .. closed half the time.. out of bread..out of drinks out of everything
