This has been my go-to spot for a while now, the sandwiches are great! Typically what we do on a day that there won't be too much time in-between meetings, is order two breakfast sandwiches, grab two bags of chips and split a sandwich. Reasonably priced considering the great quality of food. It can get pretty busy here so I tend to call ahead, by the time I'm down the elevator, walk there, and grabbing my drinks the food is ready. Give this deli a try!

Typical looking sandwich shop with surprisingly good sandwiches! Got the grilled chicken breast on a Kaiser roll. It appears small but was loaded with grilled chicken and rice cherry tomatoes! Took awhile to eat! Knew it had to be a good place because it was loaded with police eating lunch!

This spot has been on my radar for a while and happy I got to try it. I called in my order of the Sweet Lou with a nice guy that answered. When I arrived I couldn't find parking. Parking in this area is terrible so be prepared. When I walked in the man said my name and gave me my food and it came to about $10. I paid via credit card and left. When I tasted the sandwich it was pretty good. I liked the flavoring and it was plenty especially for the price. I will be back for more.

This is a great little deli in Newark. The sandwiches are large and inexpensive. We only ate half for lunch and saved the rest for later. I wish we had places like this in Minnesota.

Fantastic lunch place. Great hot and cold sandwiches, wizards of the chicken cutlet and their salads are fresh and amazing. Charlie runs a great business and is always friendly to all his customers.

I just got a new job in the neighborhood. I had heard one of my coworkers was the go to guy for local eats. When i spoke to him his first suggestion was Airlies Cafe. He even told me which sandwich i should get. The Steaming Asian Cow, weird name, sure, but oh my! That was ten times better than i expected, and i expected it to be good. I look forward to working my way through their menu on my lunch breaks. If the other sandwiches are half as great as the Steaming Asian Cow we are gonna get to know each other real well. I’m already looking at the menu to see which sandwich i want tomorrow. I would have added a picture but I literally inhaled my sandwich before i thought about it.

Best sandwich in Newark! Charlie, the owner, is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He takes pride in the place & they make the best sandwich in Newark hands down. If you can stop by, they're open, being very safe. Get a great sandwich, you deserve it & Charlie would appreciate it.

I visited this Cafe everyday for 4 months. Their food, service, and prices are superior to their neighboring competitors. I would order breakfast for a crew of 20+ guys working nearby at a construction site. The owner, Charles, is very accommodating and ensured every meal was correct and ready when I came to pick it up. I highly recommend Cafe Airlie, their food is great and service exceptional. 10 out of 10, would tell a friend!

I'd say they make the best sandwiches in downtown Newark. Its my go to spot for a sub. Everyone is nice, service is fast even when they're crowded, and you can customize a sandwich with ease. Also, they sell Voodoo chips which most places don't so always a plus!

Cafe Airlie is crowded at lunchtime for a reason: Great food at reasonable prices. The line at lunch moves pretty fast. Also good for breakfast! And no line.

Breakfast is good! Very nice price for egg and sausage on a bagle! I love their hot tea and my favorite pleas to get Honey Turkey with provolone cheese! Every thing always taste fresh and Service is also great. A little pricey but well worth it. I wish they were open on saturdays

So good that I didn’t have time to take a picture of the food! This place is truly a gem and with all good things, there’s high demand! My best recommendation would be not to go during lunch. I was fortunate enough to just beat the rush hour! One of the employees recommended the Airlie which comes with chicken cutlet and Rueben with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. They also added chipotle sauce and I can genuinely say my first was magical! Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself!

Me and my coworkers have been going to Cafe Airlie for YEARS. Items are a little on the pricier side but your definitely getting what you pay for! LOVE their iced coffee. People that complained about this place probably didn't even give it a chance. They're so clean and extremely friendly! No complaints at all!

A great place to stop by for lunch. The workers here are attentive and professional. They have some the best sandwiches and soups for lunch. I'd especially recommend eating here if you have time constraints.

My husband and I travled from Florida to New York for a wedding celebration and prior to flying back from Newark, New Jersey Airport, we had breakfast at Cafe Airlie. We are glad we did! Charles greeted us with a warm smile and helped us choose a sandwich from their great selection. We had the Airlie sandwich. They don't make sandwiches like this in Florida! So much flavor! We know where to come for breakfast or lunch the next time we are in New Jersey.

It's the best place to get a good sandwich for a reasonable price. Everything is made to order so be prepared to wait, especially during lunch. But you won't be disappointed.

I went to this place for the first time today and it won’t be the last time! Upon entering and seeing the place full of happy people socializing over lunch, I knew this was the correct place to go! Our table had and loved a Ruben on rye, mombo italiano and a New England clam cowder. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the 20 sandwiches they have posted on their board!
