One of my favorite places to have lunch!!! Awesome chicken salad with these cheese crackers!! Yummy desserts, delicious prepared foods to take home to the family or for the next few meals. I believe they are moving soon and hopefully have found a place to relocate! The chicken salad on wheat bread, sorry no toaster, and their white bean soup are our staple go to’s. Nice carry out foods, breads and desserts too! Don’t forget to order their spiced ice tea!

Food is great when they actually serve it hot and give you the correct items. It’s great half the time. Frequently soups are barely warm and they will sell you items and then come to your table after the fact that they have sold out or didn’t have any that day. For a family of 4 today they served half of the food correct and the other half of the food was unavailable. No offer to refund but to just pick something else we didn’t want. All of the soups today were cold. Lastly, about half of the employees are not particularly friendly but the other half are quite pleasant. Seems to be 50/50 on just about everything at The Picnic. After todays $70 horrible lunch it will probably be a few months before I roll the dice again. Hope The Picnic can figure things out because today they just really didn’t care.

Food is fixed fresh and they do a huge volume of business for and with an early start to lunch time. The menu is largely sandwich, fruit salads, pasta salad, no cooked heavy meals or meat and fried food type things. They're famously known for their chicken salad and fruit tea. Everything is largely served on a paper plate/holder decorated with dollies. Food orders can be called in to be picked up or you can place at the counter to eat at 4 top tables and wooden bench booths or outside if weather permits. Once an order is placed, the order is prepped in the back and delivered to your table by a female army of servers. You clean up after yourself at meal end. The biggest downside is the prices are outrageously high for the type of food and portions you receive. It's no bargain and there's no changes to the items on the menu except the escalating prices.

A quick lunch at this meet and greet Nashville staple does not disappoint. I needed to rush through take-out, and a kind, accommodating server whisked me around the sit down line, and in less than 5 minutes I was on my way with a near-perfect pimento cheese sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. A bit pricey but quality is usually worth it.

The picnic Cafe had a wonderful simple fresh food. I enjoyed the healthy menu, while the staff all seemed happy and content with their jobs. Although a $20 lunch seemed a bit high, I would still return to this place. My only concern was I was told I would get a muffin with my lunch and I received crackers instead. Not the problem I ate them anyway.

Nashville staple. Been many times but never reviewed. Good simple picnic food, if a little overpriced for what it is. But sometimes you just want something that feels homemade without the effort. Chicken salad is solid, cheese wafers are a must, baked goods are all pretty good - love their crescent cookies! To-go cases are convenient (the family meals I've tried were good), but need a clearly marked & dedicated checkout for the self-serve items, esp at lunch. Beware that they often get extremely backed up at lunch. Have made a pickup order (for 6 meals) before that I ended up waiting an extra 30 min for after it was supposed to be ready.

Such a pretty place and the food is fresh! The selection is huge and most things are available for purchase to take home. This is more of a place for the older crowd, but that makes it perfect if you are trying to avoid teens or children. This is the place for brunch/lunch or maybe pastries and some tea!

This is a fun place to grab and light lunch and a tasty dessert. I have tried a few of their sandwiches over the course of my visits and they have all been good. My favorite thing about this place is their fruit tea. The tea is extremely refreshing and has an amazing taste to it (and you can buy containers of it to take home). I am also a big fan of the strawberry cake. My only qualm with the place is that I think it is a little bit over priced. The food is always good and service is consistent, but I think the prices are about 1 - 2 dollars more than they should be. Still, I think this place is nice for an occasional lunch and I would recommend it!

You NEED to get Kathy's Crescents cookies when you visit here! They are powdered sugar almond cookie and absolutely AMAZING! Everything here is delicious! I got the tuna salad sandwich with Pasta salad and Brocolli salad and WOW! I absolutely love this place! Fast service and everyone is always so kind! I stumbled upon this place on my lunch break and decided to go in. It happened to be their anniversary. I told Kathy I had never been there before and she pulled me aside and explained their menu and her favorite items. I had half a chicken sandwhich and the lemon artichoke soup. Both were amazing but I will be craving that soup for a while. Kathy and her staff were incredibly kind and the place was so homey. I will definitely be going back very soon. Thank you, Kathy!

This is a brunch place for older people. When I say this I mean that , I don't think it is really for people under 65. The food was ok and was kind of bland. Also I was the only person of color which made feel uncertain. However it was insanely quick service and had nice staff. Also most food is served cold.

This is one of my favorite small eateries for Southern Comfort Food your grandmother probably made for you. All kinds of sandwiches and casseroles, both to eat-in and to-go. I frequently get the quiche of the day, which comes with a cranberry jello fruit salad, a muffin and some fresh fruit. I top it off with a fruit tea. Then I take home a chicken divan casserole for dinner and maybe a slice of lemon lavender pie for my husband, child and I to share. Yummy!

One of the best kept secrets in Nashville. Shop in and pick up some chicken, tuna, egg, or potato salad out of their cold-case; or one of their other delicious items. Don't forget about dessert, their caramel cake and lemon tarts are to die for!

We get sandwiches from the Picnic Cafe catered at our work and they are always great! My family decided to stop in here for late breakfast so we had quiche and a hot ham and cheese on a croissant which were all very good. For me, the tea room decor was a little "fru fru" but my wife and daughter really enjoyed it and that's the important part. Their flavored coffee (southern pecan) was different but enjoyable, and the fruit tea is a real treat.
