A hip, cozy restaurant focused on fresh and healthy food. I ordered the Turkey Avocado. It was beautiful, delicious, and fresh. The only thing I thought about changing was the bread. I saw someone with the sourdough and got a bit envious. My wheat bread was still really yummy - I just love bread. I ate all of my food before I took a picture of it. Sorry about that.

Great sandwiches and pleasant staff. They have vegan and vegetarian options. Pretty much catering to all? There is limited seating inside but there are tables outdoors for seating and a patio. On a warm and sunny winter's day this could work. Parking on the other hand is a nightmare. There are so few spaces and since Mitchell's is popular you find yourself circling the block multiple times looking for an open parking space. Even their overflow lot had zero spaces. Be prepared to walk if you have to park far. But the food makes up for it!

Good sandwich shop on the east side for breakfast or lunch. They have gluten-free bread to put on any sandwich. They also had kombucha on draft from Walker Brothers locally made in nashville.

Delicatessen? More like Delica-heaven! There were four vegan and vegetarian sandwich options when we visited and they sometimes have vegan creamy tomato soup too! I love the craft sodas on tap, the kola flavor was my favorite. I had the Asian BBQ Tofu sandwich and it was what dreams are made up! Being vegetarian, I missed being able to walk into a sandwich shop and order something satisfying and protein-packed for lunch! Mitchell’s solves that problem! They also have 3 bins for compost, recycle, and landfill. Cannot recommend this restaurant more!

Unique sandwich shop. I thought the sandwiches tasted pretty good. The price seemed kind of high . The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. I was quite surprised how busy this place was. Excellent customer service. Parking can be a little challenging. I would recommend this place…..

Traveling through town and was recommended by a local to check out this place for lunch. So glad we did!! Our sandwiches were absolutely delicious! Service was excellent. Clean and cute location. A+ all around! Thanks Nashville, you can make a freaking good sandwich!! :)

It was a 3 experience for me.. wanted it to be more but the Italian, the staple, just wasn’t doing it. Not a ton of flavor, meat wasn’t very good, wet, overall eh. The Bahn Mi was good though and I’d get that again. 2 star Italian, 4 star Bahn Mi.

Really good sandwiches. The place was larger than I imagined. I thought it was a small venue for a quick bite and run kinda place. But there’s quiet a few seating in door and outdoors , with probably more available seats than car parks! The BBQ smoked brisket was good, but the turkey and avocado sandwich was a home run!! The sprouts in it was surprising as many people don’t like it but the combination of the whole sandwich with the sauce was a stand out!

Food was the best I have had in a long time but the wait was long. Super busy but cool place to hangout and eat. The root beer, grape soda and ginger ale are all fountain. Super good but foam was quite extra. Everyone's cup was only half full due to foam. I got the Mitchell club and it was tasty, bacon a little salty but definitely tolerable. A must visit!

First time here and I will definitely be back! I got the Turkey Apple Brie sandwich and it was delicious. This place has a chill atmosphere, great staff, and amazing food at a solid price point. Highly recommend!

A staple gem of East Nashville. Mitchell Deli has some of the best sandwiches in Davidson county. They've got the classics, like BLT, turkey and cheese, caprese; and they've got more exciting varieties like turkey brie, BBQ Asian tofu, and jalapeno pimento cheese. Service is prompt, though it can get busy. Indoor and outdoor eating areas. Parking in the front lot is limited, but there's a lot of street parking nearby and another lot across the street. Highly recommend Mitchel Deli, it's where I take any visitors for lunch.

Great food, props to the guys for a great Reuben. Parking limited and line to order was nearly out the door. That however is the sign of a good place to eat. Inside, limited seating, but takeout available as well as a selection of local cheese and fare. A place for a great bite.

Delicious and such a unique experience. Their potato salad was fantastic, salad bar looked amazing and they had so many local items. Cannot wait to come back here and try another sandwich! Would highly recommend

Club sandwich at Mitchell’s is my fave. Very traditional just not cut 4 ways. Side of potato salad and a lemonade make a great meal. Turkey, steak sandwiches also very good.

Wow! That was the best seitan sandwich I've ever had. I will eat here every time I'm in Nashville. I had the baked tofu tonight. It's better cold. Really good as well

Decent looking establishment. Read staff was not rude but also not very friendly. I got the Reuben and my partner got the corn chowder. They enjoyed their food but I was not impressed with my sandwich. Rye bread was toasted unevenly burnt on the edges and soft in the middle, sandwich seem to be made hastily due to all the sauerkraut in a pile in the middle of the sandwich.

This place is amazing for take out or dine in. The service is always kind and swift, the ambience is great and the sandwiches are the best in town. The place gets pretty busy and crowded during lunch, so just keep that in mind when you’re making lunch plans.

A very nice deli shop with a good selection of sandwiches and beer on tap. The prices on the menu are reasonable. You can buy deli by the pound as well. They have plenty of seating and there is also outside seating. I had their brisket sandwich with a bowl of soup. It hit the spot! I strongly recommend.

It was a struggle to find parking and we almost gave up, but I'm so happy we didn't. The food was so worth it!!! I got the Italian and it was the best sandwich I've had in my life. It didn't take long considering they were busy. I also got their sweet tea which was yummy. This was my first time here and I had an awesome time. They have a beautiful patio and the vibes here are awesome. Everyone is welcomed! 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely come here again.

This restaurant is top-notch!! Prices are great! I'm so glad I suggested we stop here on our way to Atlanta. I got the brisket sandwich and it was amazing!!! I saw this restaurant on a food channel 10 yrs ago and haven’t stop visiting yet. I order the same thing every time! Love this place. The bread is fantastic, the ingredients are fresh. I have had several of the options on the menu and have yet to be even mildly disappointed. Great fountain sodas as well. Even if you're not in the area, the trek to East Nashville is worth it to eat here.

The food was great! We had the Mitchell's Club and the Turkey with cranberry jalapeno sauce. I will say you don't taste the jalapenos at all and being a lover of spicy type foods it was a somewhat let down. But I would nevertheless order it again! The experience was great and the atmosphere was cool and collective. Definitely recommend to any tourists or nashvillians. 😁😁

Amazing sandwich shop! I’ve tried several of their sandwiches and my favorite has been the brisket sandwich. The Apple brie is really good too if you like a combination of sweet and savory. The only negative I can think of is that it closes at 4 PM because I often crave it after work!

I came here on the recommendation of a friend and this place lived up to it. The sandwiches are really, really good and well priced. Good selection of beer and sodas to go with it. The place also has meat and other deli items for purchase. The place felt cozy and the staff was friendly.

This restaurant has lots of character. We stopped here for breakfast on our last day of vacation, and the food was amazing! They have a nice breakfast bar where you can get breakfast and pay by the lb, amazing sandwiches, and typical bagel fare. There is also lots of cool local items for sale, from local bacon to sauces, etc!

As far as I know, there is only one item on the menu at Mitchell's: the Italian. Every time I visit Nashville, I must come to Mitchell's and have one. Something about pickled green beans and peppers on a sandwich just feels so right. I literally have dreams about this sandwich when I'm hungry. 10/10

I've been to a lot of sandwich shops (and worked at them too) and Mitchell has, by far, the best quality sub sandwiches I have ever had. Definitely the best place in Nashville to get deli-type foods. They have a huge variety of food and drink here so there's really something for everyone. Subs, salad, soup, pasta salads, trail mix cups, juices, coffee, AND beer! To top it off the service is always friendly and casual, and the facility is always clean and welcoming (even when it's busy). We come here all the time and absolutely love it. Great work MD team! Keep it up!

It has nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly. My husband and I each had a Reuben.The corned beef was excellent. It had a good flavor and was thinly sliced. Me, I love sauerkraut. Because most places do not use much, I always order mine with extra. When we unwrapped our sandwiches we couldn't see any sauerkraut. I opened up my sandwich and still had a hard time finding any. I know I should have taken it back up and requested more but I was tired from a long walk we had taken. I ate half and took the other half home to eat with more sauerkraut.

Place is cute, ordered Ruben but got some sort of chicken bacon celery sandwich. It was decent but definitely not a Ruben but didn’t have 20 more mins to wait for sandwich in order to eat with my party. Their sodas are good.

What a pleasant surprise. We are staying nearby when I decided to run out for breakfast. I came upon the Mitchell Delicatessen where I purchased a dozen bagels and some breakfast burritos. The food was great. Everybody loved the burritos, especially the non-meat version. Later that day, we needed lunch for family that came into town for a wedding. I went back to the deli and purchased sandwiches. The selection was great and we purchased almost one of everything. Once again, we were pleasantly surprised and everyone loved the food. What more can I say. This place is awesome. I highly recommend it.

The music choice is also A+, but what really keeps me coming back is the food. They serve some of the best veggie chili I've ever had. Literally the best sandwich I've had since moving back to the Nashville area over a year and a half ago. The ingredients are super fresh and delicious and the atmosphere is adorable. Worth the drive from anywhere in the city. The roast beef and cheddar is incredible as is the bbq beef brisket.

If you LOVE sandwiches then this is a must when in the area . Heck,I live 30 minutes away and I’ll drive to eat there. The Asian flank steak is my favorite. The potato salad with Benton’s bacon is excellent.

Wonderful little cafe! Very busy but wait was not long. We came because Google said they had the best Reuben. My wife and I love Reubens but our standard is very high. We like lot's of sauerkraut. Prefer marbled rye bread that is toasted. This Reuben was on rye bread and lightly toasted. The meat had amazing flavor. The reason for only four stars is we asked for extra sauerkraut and there was barely any on it. Also when you pay at the counter they ask for a tip. There is no waitress service. When your order is ready your name is called and you go get your food. It was not a long wait. There is little parking available but was sufficient while we there.

Hands down one of my favorite food spots in Nashville. Casual & affordable yet absurdly delicious. Quick turnover time. Intentionally sourced ingredients (check out their website to see local partners). The bbq tofu sandwich on sourdough + veggie soup is out of this world. Likewise, the tuna melt will melt your face off in the best type of way.

This is not your ordinary sub shop. They likely have some of the freshest subs over on the east side of town. There's not a ton of parking, but they do allow orders to go and it's totally worth it to park down the street. I recently had the Italian Sub and loved it!

Reviews do not describe how amazing the ambiance and the food quality is. Truly worth taking the trip to deep east Nashville for the sandwiches. The bread is clearly fresh baked and the quality of the ingredients is divine.

I LOVE Mitchell’s!! I go out of my way to eat here but they have my favorite breakfast in town. Buffet style (they dip) and you just pay for what you get, charged by weight. The food all has this incredible smokiness to it. I’m all about it. Customer service off the charts! Always treated well here.

Mitchell Deli has catered several events at our workplace, and everyone loves it!!! The catering manager, Ruth, is awesome to work with. Once we ordered over 300 sandwiches for one event, and each one was just as delicious as the individual sandwich ordered from the counter. 10/10. Would recommend.

Fantastic quality food and customer service. I love that they have in-house delivery as well. It doesn't happen often (in fact rarely) but if there's ever a delivery issue they handle it with grace, expeditiously. Keep up the good work and please don't ever convert to any of the delivery services.

Mitchell's is always the bomb diggity. Even without their salad bar open, their prepackaged salads were delicious and super fresh. We have seen several bluegrass musicians in there as well, if you're into that scene! Friendly service and short wait.

Awsome food! Great lunch! One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Be prepared for a little wait as everything is made to order. The tomato bisque I had was excellent too. Also, parking can be a pain. I parked across the street in a lot behind another business. Everyone else seemed to be doing this as well. Seating inside is also at a premium and they have an outside seating area. I recommend arriving early if you want an inside seat.

The sandwich was tasty, the environment was nice, and the staff were all very pleasant. That said, getting the sandwich was slow, easily around 20 minutes after ordering. Of course, it was also very crowded, and the team was working very hard, so I don't feel that it was any issue with the staff - it was more a product of being successful. That said, I went here because I thought it would be quicker and easier than going to a sit down restaurant, and I'm not sure that it was significantly faster.

This is one of our local go-tos. We love the Grilled Veggie sandwich and BBQ Asian Tofu sandwich. When we bring family here, they love the Turkey and Avocado or the Turkey Brie. Really ALL the sandwiches here are fantastic! Definitely stop here anytime you can, you won't regret it.

Best sandwich spot in the city! You will not regret a visit here. I've never had a bad sandwich here and I've tried nearly everything on the board. They also have a decent selection of draft beers that they rotate pretty frequently. If you enjoy a club sandwich, you will never be able to eat one again after you have the Mitchell's club. Every club henceforth will pale in comparison, I warned you. Go here now!

Been going to Mitchell's for years and decided it was time to give a review. Honestly, every sandwich i've ever gotten has been fresh and spot on from the last one. They are very consistent in quality and taste. The turkey/apple/brie will be like nothing you've tasted before. My daughter says the French Dip is amazing, too. And don't forget the Voodoo Chips!

Hipster clientele, super busy. Service was good if not overly attentive. We had sandwiches. Flavors were good and portions were generous. We both remarked on the good hoagie roll, nicely toasted. Yup. This is the place for sandwiches. We had the Ruben and the hot brisket sandwich and they didn't disappoint even on a pretty full stomach to start with. Parking isn't great, so be warned, but if you're in the area, definitely stop by. Prices were fair and the place was very clean. Staff were nice and the service was surprisingly fast; not Jimmy John's fast, but better than expected.

This is weighted, because of the reputation. If it weren't so highly rated everywhere else, it would probably get four stars. We went out of our way to get here, though; fought traffic, a terrible parking situation, and a long line, to get just a pretty good sandwich. I had the Asian BBQ tofu. The bread was the star, it's really good. The tofu was good, although lacking in amount. A little more would have been great. Add some standard chips and you got a pretty good lunch. But pretty good isn't what I hoped for. After reading, driving, and waiting, I expected great. Maybe I got the wrong sandwich (I hear the Turkey Avocado and Turkey Brie are amazing) or the wrong day, but I won't be seeking this place out.

Was in town for business and a friend who’s local to Nashville wanted to take me to have “the best sandwich you’ll ever have anywhere”. All I can say is he was right, Mitchell’s is incredible! It was a little out of the way but it was so worth it! Service was quick and friendly. They have a walk up window to order from or you can order ahead and pick up. They have perfected the craft with a wide selection of options to satisfy your palate and dietary restrictions (options for vegan, gluten-free, etc.). The food understandably overshadows the delightful surprise of a beer selection. Various breweries are featured on tap, ranging from new local options and far-away imports. If you're nice, they'll let you sample before you buy. Not a beer person? Go for one of the craft sodas they have on tap. I'd be remiss not to mention the staff. They are just as remarkable as the food, if not more so. It may sound strange, but I've become a regular at the best sandwich place in Nashville because of the people, not the food.

I typically get the Bannh Mi, but I have had a couple of the other sandwiches too. Every looks great and the meats and the veggies on the sandwich are the freshest. It is located in East Nashville, but worth the drive. It is one of my to go places when I have friends visiting, but be prepared it is always crowded. There is additional parking across the street in a gravel lot in back of a BBQ place. I hear the Breakfast bar is great too, but never made it to that. The prices are not bad, a sandwich which could be easily split is under $8.00 including tax.

If your gonna spend 22-30 bucks on sandwiches the portion better be able to fill you up and then some. My girlfriend and I got pastrami sandwiches being from up north and having a craving when making a sandwich like that I should not have more tomato and lettuce then actual meat as well as a class pastrami sandwich does not even come with that stuff on it. Awesome place to grab a sandwich, bag of Zapp's chips, cream soda, and just people watch. They have East Nashville, Nashville scene, and Native publications inside. I always a snag a few. The Breakfast bagels are pretty legit as well.

Really delicious food at a good price in Inglewood. There is a fair amount of parking nearby. Pretty much any sandwich on the menu beckons you towards itself. It’s hard to choose between the Banh Mi or the Chicken Salad. My brother-in-law ordered a club and it was full of meat. Incredible food, and Sprecher's on tap with free refills. What more do you need? There isn't a single thing on the menu that isn't delicious. It does get very busy at peak hours, but the service is quick. It can sometimes be a little tricky to find a table, as people tend to linger a bit and the crowds can be big. But, I can't blame them - it's an excellent place to catch up over a good meal. Do yourself a favor, and stop in for lunch. It's well worth any wait!

Wow! I lucked into this little gem. I was in need of a hearty breakfast and Mitchell Delicatessen delivered. It was recommended by a local friend and I couldn't be happier. Neat vibe when you walk in. Ridiculously friendly staff helped guide me through their offerings. The breakfast was just what the doctor ordered with eggs, sausage, crazy thick bacon straight out of heaven and biscuits with gravy. A heaping plateful rang in at under six bucks. Honorable mentions go to the Bahn Mi and the Asian BBQ Tofu. When you really feel decadent, try the housemade Pimento cheese sandwich. So creamy and rich! The potato salad is stinking delicious as well.

My only complaint would be the extra charge for bacon; I love Benton's bacon as much as the next guy, but charging $1.25 for each piece is a little over the top. But the "hoagie" roll is small, the ingredients skimpy for the price they're charging. $7.50 for a glorified turkey sandwich, small and thin, and no chips? Sorry, not good enough. PLUS, after you order, you have wait way too long for your food. The line is so long that it encroaches on diners sitting at nearby tables. We think the trick is to call ahead and order before you go. We probably won't go back though. We like to get what we pay for.

Don't think that the online order "status" actually does anything.... it never changes to "ready" so your food may already be done and getting cold and soggy. (Personal experience) For some reason you must get in line when you arrive, check in, and only then will they announce when your order is ready. Then back in line for the pickup window! Underrated soup/salad bar and delicious rotisserie chicken. If I'm in a pinch I always pick up Willow farm eggs from their market. Draft Sprecher soda, High Garden/Buchi kombucha, beer, cider, and iced coffee... their iced sweet tea is mulled with oranges and cinnamon for crying out loud! I'm dying over here, the sandwiches rule. I can personally recommend the Bahn Mi, Turkey Apple Brie/Avocado, French Dip, Chicken Portobello, and Caprese. Their Asian Flank Steak was a runner up in the Nashville Scene sandwich poll. Sometimes they have a Cuban or pulled pork special that's totally worth it! This is a spot where you're bound to run into friends and you both nod to each other in agreement that this is the best decision you've made all day. The place is busy during the lunch hour so order online if you're coming after 11am. Sandwiches are wrapped up with a pickle spear and are easy to take with on daytrips.

Let me just start by saying that I'm a long-time customer at Mitchell's. The food is excellent, always. The breakfast... wow; the sandwichs... oh my! And I've had all of them but a couple. Its also great that there is always a nice selection of draught beers, reasonably priced. I also love the salad bar. So why 4 stars instead 5? A couple of things bug me 1. The new .75 cent charge PER tiny container of salad dressing. Salad dressing should always be included with the salad. 2. You order, return to the counter to get food. Get your own silverware, etc. Then you have to clean up after yourself. I do all these things myself, and yet I usually give a tip (basically because I feel a little shamed into doing so). If I knew it was going directly to the food preparers, I'd feel better about it, because I have to do pretty much everthing else myself. I won't stop going to Mitchell's because I love the food that much.

The pimiento cheese sandwich was classic and delicious, though the "jalepeno" part did not come through in the least. Still, this was a delicious meal at a cool place with great drink selection.
