The tamale spread was absolutely the best thing there. Overall good and we will be back. The only thing I would say could be improved is that the meat could be more smokey. It tasted fine but not much of a smoked flavor. I smoke meat a lot and if it's going to be in the smoker for hours I want it to taste smoked and not roasted. But it wasn't bad at all. That may just be how they do it there which fine. The BBQ sauce isn't my style but it's still good and goes well with the dishes. It's very heavily tomato flavored and almost more like a marinara. We got Mcclards beans and potato salad as sides and I thought they were great. Got a peach cobbler too and it was great with lots of crust. Our server was Jeanne (I think) and she was absolutely fantastic.

I was close by so I decided to stop. I had sliced brisket, mashed potatoes and green beans. The brisket was ok the mashed potatoes had a smoky flavor and the green beans were from a can. The dessert was really good, I had possum pie. The highlight of the meal was my server, Whitney was an outstanding server she is the reason the 5 star rating happened.

Service was great, gals were very nice. Food was mediocre. Sides were just not good. Was offered replacements but I didn't see how that would make things better, would have preferred a discount because majority of order was uneaten. Ribs were good! Catfish was dime a dozen type and brisket was ok, well smoked but bland. Paid $80. Probably won't return.

We too are frequent visitors of the Hot Springs location and there was just something off from the food at the new Little Rock spot. We ordered a full spread and pork sandwich. The spread tasted different than usual. Not sure if it was the tamales or something else, but it wasn’t quite the same. There might have been too much masa, or they just weren’t as flavorful. The pork sandwich was good but the bun was soggy due to too much juice, so we had to eat it first (and quickly). All in all it was good, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Wonderful addition to the restaurant scene!! Food is wonderful with it's tastiness, and they keep it simple!! Our waitress was VERY attentive, and we accidentally stayed a bit past closing, but no one rushed us out. My first time there, DEFINITELY not my last! Second visit, still sensational

We frequent McClard's in HS often. By comparison here is differences we saw. Service was excellent (as expected). The rib dinner has skimpy on fries and they were not the same as one in HS store. The slaw was okay. The tamale spread had something missing, couldn't decide just what. I think it was a little short on pork, and some of what I got was dry. I willing to forget some of this to newness. I'm happy that I don't have to drive 100+ miles thru construction zones anymore. We will be back and hope some tweaking will be done before then.

The server recommended the BBQ burger and it was phenomenal! Messy and covered in BBQ, but worth the mess! As a side, I ordered the fries, which are fresh cut. Everyone else seemed to be ordering the Tomale Spread (tomale(s) covered in Frito's, cheese, beans, meat, and BBQ). Hope to be back to try more!

I would like to respond to Ginny S remarks about this restaurant. First of all let me say that this was my wife’’s birthday party not Ginny S party. We have been eating at Down Home for many years and have never had any problems. Except for Ginny everyone else was very pleased with their food. We realized that they were short staffed but we still got our food in a reasonable amount of time. Please don’t believe that the entire party was displeased. I am so sorry for any remarks by Ginny but please believe it did not reflect the feelings of the rest of the party. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your staff. Please send my wife’s and mine apologizes to your staff in particular the young hostess.

We had one of their Friday special's -- meatloaf with a side of fries and squash casserole. The meatloaf was juicy and delicious, though, I found the sauce a bit sweet for my taste but no biggie...just scrapped a bit off. Not a deal breaker. The fries was hot and crispy. Loved it! I found the squash casserole very tasty but a bit too dry. The food came out fast. Very friendly servers. They came and check on us often if we needed anything. We will definitely be back to eat the meatloaf again and try out other items on the menu.

We are always delighted to come to DownHome. Tori Morehart the owner makes everyone feel special. She works so hard to make sure everyone has what he or she wants. She even got in her car to find a special wine that one of our group asked for. What a lovely host. We also highly recommend the food. Love the catfish on Friday night.

Great food & staff. Same people have been there for a long time which helps with consistency. Friday is catfish special. Wife enjoyed her chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy, &a side of okra. Been a while since our last visit (just aren't eating out as much recently) but this is still a very good place to dine.

10/10 recommend! I hired Tori and her team to cater my wedding. COVID through some bumps in the road, but she was more than willing to work with me on any updates. Tori is by far the kindest person I dealt with during all of my wedding planning. She honestly makes you feel like her sister and removes so much stress. Not to mention, her food is AMAZING! The opossum pie (not road kill) is delightful. Food is so important at a wedding, everyone remembers it. Hire her to cater your wedding & feed your guests the best! You won't regret it.

First time, food radt and hot toast was nice and semi-firm, not hard. I ordered an omelette, hot and tasty, bell peppers not over powering. I finished it off with a tall cold glass of milk! Service staff friendly ☺️. Will come again!

A hidden gem in Central Arkansas! This place has amazing food! Friday is Fish Day and they're open late. Daily specials, but the Chicken Fried Chicken is my favorite. Service is good! Owner is very nice and welcoming. The ONLY reason this place earned 4 stars instead of 5– they don't have Coke products! Only Pepsi. PLEASE bring in the Coca Cola!

I want to second my daughter's opinion and say again what a great experience we had with DownHome catering when they catered our daughter's wedding. Even when we had a couple of glitches (nothing they did) they jumped up and helped us recover! Our reception went long and they were even willing to let us pay a bit extra for their employees, and they stayed until we were all set. All the guests thought the food was great and they even brought chocolate gravy for the groom! Thank you DownHome!

Glad I found this place. I've been looking for a place to help when having work functions, Downhome was a good decision to try. Tori was great to work with, she got us set up with no problems. Pickup went smoothly, set up was easy, and my drivers loved the food. Will definitely use them going forward.

I came in Friday night from a long drive out of town I had heard many good things about this place and drove 6 hours to get here I believe my waitress was named Becky. Had the catfish. Was great and waitress made me feel right at home. Will be back next trip.

My husband and I decided to try this place out last night. We've never been here before. I was excited to see fried shrimp on the menu for a Friday night, so I had that. My husband had the hamburger steak. The staff were all friendly and very kind to us. However, the food will probably keep us from coming back. Both of our plates were delivered not hot. My husbands food was flat out cold and had to be sent back to be warmed up. When I say cold, I mean I touched his potatoes with my finger and it felt like they had been sitting there for about 10 minutes. My food was all luke warm except for both of us who had corn nuggets, those were hot. It was almost like they only had one fryer and the last thing that came out was hottest. Last, our waitress while very kind, was a bit inappropriate. She pulled out a chair and sat down at our table to talk while we were eating. My husband was very uncomfortable with this. Again. she wasn't talking to us rudely or anything like that, but sitting down at our table uninvited is a bit out of line.

They may be good at catering.. I don't know. But, I do know the restaurant needs more attention. Service was ok. A little difficult to get the Waitress attention sometimes and the restaurant was not busy at all. Food was ok. Really nothing that specail. Most I can do better at home. Atmosphere I felt like I was eating in someone's garage or warehouse. Did not have any down home feeling at all. I grew up in the country. They miss the mark by a lot. Not sure I will ever return. This was my first time at the restaurant and looks to be my last.

DownHome lives up to its name offering a southern, home-cooked menu. The flavor is excellent. The portions are adequate. The price might be a tad on the higher side. I had the daily lunch special, and it was great.

Ive heard them advertise for years on the radio, and finally had a chance to stop in and see what it was all about. It blew my expectations out of the water, The food is better than advertised, the host was very gracious, spending time with me and my wife. Wedding was 4/28 in Little Rock. Had many compliments on how good the food was. I can confirm it was awesome. Beef brisket cheesy garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and dinner rolls. I booked 130 ppl. Had plenty to take home a lot of ppl got seconds. Enough meet and mashed potatoes and beans to make a shepherds pie to feed 20 people for her college graduation on May 12. Tori wasn’t there she was on a cruise but her sister Toni was along with two other servers. They did great. I changed the order about 3 times and communication was easy and very quick response time. The price was well very reasonable and I would have paid more. The food quality was second to none. You can not go wrong with this place. Thanks Tori btw I asked your sister if you can take a joke before I texted you where’s the food at 730 when 530 was the delivery time. They were 10 min early. She said yes you could.almost forgot I had a cousin that doesn’t eat red meat so I asked for 1 grilled chicken breast and she said it was very good and juicy. So I guess you can’t go wrong with the brisket or chicken. Only 5 stars cause that’s the most I can give.

After having visited the Hot Springs location for most of my life I was thrilled to see a Little Rock location appear. It was a little pricier and the portions were a little smaller but overall it was still a good experience. I could not put my finger on it but it seemed like the sauce was thicker even though it had the same taste. Definitely good for a quick BBQ fix
