I had the Grant Pinkerton on Dutch bread and it was delicious. Ample brisket, tasty sauce, and the bread brought it all together well. Mozzarella sticks were also very good. Would like to come back and try other sandwiches but might end up getting the same one because it was so good.

Really enjoyed the Shrek(vegetarian) sandwich. Has many other vegan/vegetarian options too. The sandwiches are tasty and have a light sweeter tone. I guess the sauces quantity and combination used in their signature sandwiches make them delicious. Best here is it’s Ike’s World famous dutch bread. The crust/ texture makes it stand out from any other breads. Special mention to packaging too, was perfect with double wrapping. Also got free Caramel Apple lollipop.

Vibe-This is a cool sandwich shop in the heights. There are so many different sandwiches to choose from. My favorite part about this shop is that there’s so many meat free options! There’s a seating area outside and plenty of seating inside. Customer service- Great! The guy that took my order was very helpful and kind. Food/drinks- I got a meatless mike the vegan way (they used vegan cheese instead of pepper jack) Parking- There’s plenty of spots in the lot, but depending on the day and time you might have to seek additional parking.

First time here the customer service could have been a bit more on the welcoming side when ordering. I ordered the Tony Saprano it was delicious 😋 got the cheese sticks they could have been more hotter but the cheese was not even melted at the time they handed it to me. The wait was a bit long but worth the wait. Sandwich was awesome 👌 10 out of 10.

Best sandwich shop, especially for vegetarians. They have an incredible variety and they’re also delicious. The Robert Woodrow Wilson is a Houston Heights exclusive. It has vegan brisket, bbq glaze and pepper jack. That’s always my go-to and I get it every visit.

Surprisingly tasty sandwiches. A friend of mine showed up with some leftovers from a party. We pop them in the oven for a few minutes, they came out tasting pretty fresh! The turkey and cheese which was simply meat cheese and bread (and maybe some sort of sauce?), was also just simply delicious. I would have liked a little bit more meat in my sandwich but the tasty bread made up for it. I also got to try the vegetarian meatball? No idea what it's really called but that's what it seemed to be. Not my fave, but interesting. I'm not usually a big sandwich eater, but I would eat these again!

Sandwich was good. Onion rings were soggy. Staff made no effort to wipe down the dining room tables even for busy lunch in a world obsessed with importance of cleanliness it reflects on what is happening behind the counter as well. Kind of disappointing experience when you have a staff of atleast four from what I saw. I would have sat outside but those tables were also not prepped. Would not recommend except for sandwich take away.

Came in on a Saturday around 3 with my family and the sandwiches were really good worth it. I got the Steve J from the veggie menu super good . My sister got the meatless Mike and her husband got some meat sub The workers were nice too they gave the kids candies. Definitely coming back

Lots of vegan choices and meat for non vegans. The service is friendly and fast. The location at 11th and Heights BLVD is ideal with ample parking, The sandwiches are very good they average about 10$ . They are made fresh whilst you wait. A choice of bread and a myriad of options to customize your meal. I returned .04.04.22 the service level was high clean store, and patio area

First time going to Ike's I had the Grant Pinkerton (Heights Exclusive sandwich) and it was amazing. Fresh ingredients including the french bread, and the brisket did not disappoint. Nice bright atmosphere and good service. I would highly recommend this location to anybody in the area looking for a good sandwich, and I will definitely be back to try out more of the menu items.

Great spot. They got a lot of items. For first timers you'll be staring at that board for a while lol. Service was slow that day... But I'm sure that was because they were packed. Friendly staff. Clean joint. Definitely gonna go there soon again and again..

Love the sandwiches. I am basic sandwich eater- pb&j, grilled cheese, and maybe a ham sandwich with lto. But overall, I tend to stick with the classics. These sandwiches slap! The sauces are all different and good (definitely some new experiences in there). The meats were cooked well and the veggies had fresh crunch. And for some reason, the sandwiches don't even get soggy fast! The variety of sauces also lets you control the level of spice on the sandwich (for spice lovers, add the sriracha mayo on the steak sandwich- the heat is worth it!). We tried the Menage a Trois, the Lizzie McGuire, and the steak sandwich (forgot the name). Family was impressed- we ordered two days in a row.

I'm not usually a big fan of sandwiches in general, but I LOVE the Dutch bread and the partnership with Pinkertons BBQ! The lemonade is also delicious, actually tastes like lemons. Finally, I appreciate the caramel apple lollipops with every order. Keep up the great work!

Have had two sandwiches here. 1st was just bad. 2nd, recommended by employee, was great. Menu is extremely large and spotty. Make sure to order well or you will pay a lot for a questionable sandwich.

I like to let the food do the talking but reader be warned, parking is non existent and the subs aren't cheap, close to $13 before any combo option. The menu is extensive, with plenty of cleverly named combinations to enjoy. They also have a large vegetarian/vegan menu in addition to different breads including gluten free. Overall the subs were delicious, fresh and filling. One of the only real sandwich shops in the Heights.

Was super excited to hear Ike's was coming to Houston finally! Didn't make it for the grand opening or anything but finally had the opportunity to check it out. Was completely dead on a Saturday evening which caught me off guard. I'm ok with that a I was able to actually get a table. I ordered the Grant Pinkerton... It was good but not great. The only issue with it was the lack of meat. There was a good amount of pastrami, but you order it mostly for the brisket (this is Texas right?). I think there was one small piece of brisket only on one half of the sandwich. The half with it even felt light on brisket so imagine my disappointment to not have any brisket on the other side. Everything else was good. The Dutch bread was delicious, the veggies were fresh. The pastrami had a nice layer across the sandwich.

First time trying this place. You are better off picking up - parking is a nightmare. You can probably find parking on the street and you'll have to walk. Get those steps in! Now, on to the food. There's about 1 million options here, so I actually am not a fan of that. Leaving folks with decision fatigue is not a good move. But I digress. I ended up getting the "James and giant peach" vegan fried "chicken" with cheddar and honey mustard sauce. Added jalapenos, banana peppers, red onions, pickles for free. Got it in the dutch bread - I recommend. Not sure what dutch bread is, but it's tasty. I don't think this is a place for "clean" sandwiches. You can add stuff like mozzerala sticks and fries to your sandwich, if you're in to having heart attacks at lunch. I just did the sandwich alone and it was more than enough. Also, it's not cheap! $12 bucks or so for a sandwich - california chain with california prices. Don't think this is a regular spot for me but definitely a nice changeup from other sandwich joints in h-town. Go try Ike's love and sandwiches and see what you think!

This place is amazing! I got the gluten free bread (Andrew Luck sandwich) and Ike said it didn’t represent the sandwich well, but wow. It was so good! I bet a sandwich on the real bread is even more amazing. It’s late and now I’m craving it and hungry for more, haha.

Not your typical subwich shop. They take time to prepare it - so it's pricier than your typical sub. Sooo many options. Staff here are friendly. There are many options for vegetarians, a whole separate section!

This place hands down has one of the best sandwiches I’ve tasted. What makes the sandwich taste the best is the soft and moist Dutch bread. I gave them 3 stars due to the price ($16) for one sandwich, and the service. I could have felt a little more welcomed and the wait could have been better. It took about 15-20 minutes for my sandwich and there was one other customer in the entire restaurant whom arrived after me. I will say the establishment and the restrooms were clean so that’s a plus but I wouldn’t come here expecting a fast experience if you’re in a hurry.

Very interesting sandwich combos. Not your average shop, don't expect a ham and cheese. Flavors where good. And the bread is different... kind of sweet. But works well with the sandwich.

I ordered the Jaymee Sirewich, Salt N Vinegar chips and a brownie for delivery. It was my first time ordering delivery with Ike's. I was expecting the delivery person to ring the bell or knock, but instead my sandwich was delivered Amazon style: left in front of the door with a text picture as proof of delivery.I was disappointed with this as I did not see the text until 10 min later and my food was cold. I was in the living room the whole time. They should have had a notice about this when ordering - other delivery places ring the bell! Also, I got the sandwich, but the delivery person forgot to deliver the chips and brownie. I called to complain about the missing items and was offered a refund for those items. I opted to pick up the items at the store instead. When I got to the store they didn't have the type of chips I ordered - which they could have told me at any time before I got to the store. The sandwiches are good, but I'm never ordering delivery from them again.

I had the veggie Bacon Sandwich and it was amazing! Compared to boring Subway sandwiches this one was so flavorful and you could even taste the different veggies. Would definitely return. Portion size is rather small for the price, could‘ve eaten two sandwiches.

We ordered takeout. The estimate was 30 minutes, which seems like plenty of time to make two sandwiches. Turned into 40 minutes. The staff’s main interest did not seem to be serving customers. The sandwiches are not cheap, but they are massive. The Dutch crunch bread is very good. We ordered the Matt Cain 4.5/5 and the backstabber 4.5/5.

I ordered the James and the Giant Peach with the crunch bread 😊🥹The “dirty sauce “is amazing…ordered for delivery at work…. Got to me 6 mins before scheduled.::: I don’t know why I thought I had it fries or chips but I went back to look at my order and I did not I was so hungry I just ordered a sandwich next time I order from there I will make sure to order some chips as these are the best sandwich that I have tasted ….so far ❤️❤️❤️❤️I will order again

“Andrew Luck” sandwich was good. Service needs some work. I waited over 20 min for my sandwich. There were only 2 people working. They need more workers. Trash can was piled up. Food was in disarray behind the counter. For an expensive premium sandwich, I’d expect better. Just thought you’d like to know.

Me and a friend biking up heights boulevard stopped 15 minutes before closing they treated us as if we were the first customers of the day I will definitely be back. My friend's wife is vegetarian and loved it. So to the vegetarians out there, a wide range of delicious sandwiches await your order.

LEAGUES ABOVE SUBWAY! I usually hate sub sandwiches but the vegan fried chicken was so satisfying and filling. Their Heights exclusive vegan brisket was also filling but the meat substitute was kinda small and not brisket-y. Still very good

Literally the best sub I’ve ever had. Period. The Tony Soprano is my favorite and a must get. I order togo from this place quite often and enjoy it, the employees are quick and I’m in and out within 15 minutes. Ordering 2 sandwiches is almost $30.

Excellent variety of vegetarian or vegan options. Had the vegetarian brisket sandwich on Dutch bread - delicious!! My wife had the prissy Presley which she loved. Dog friendly patio Manager came out and asked how everything was. Definitely recommend and we’ll be back to try other choices. And parking in back was easy.

I have been there multiple times now. They have a great variety of sandwich options. Big plus is that they serve halal chicken. Their Dutch bread and wheat bread is really good. I do wish they had halal beef options. I'd recommend.

My husband and I love these sandwiches. They have so much flavor, there are tons of options including brisket, and they have sandwiches for under 500 calories. The Ike’s bread is different than any sandwich bread I’ve ever tried and is DELICIOUS. It goes well with any sandwich.

I love this place! I first went to the Ike’s franchise in Arizona. So when I found out they had one here, I flipped out! It’s definitely a drive for me but worth it. I can only speak on vegan sandwiches and in that case this place is definitely worth a try. I always get the meatless mike and it’s never done me wrong lol Once I ventured out and tried the James & the Giant Peach, let’s just say I won’t do that again. But seriously you can’t go wrong with the Meatless Mike, start there. My only request is that they have more vegan options, in AZ they have vegan chik’n nuggets as well.

Their sandwiches are super good. My favorite is "sometimes I'm a vegeterian". I love that they have such large variety of vegetarian sandwiches. I eat there at least 3 times a month. They're a little on the pricey side. My main issue with them is online ordering. You have to download their app and I'm not doing that. I hope they change that.

Sandwhiches are really tasty. Their bread is awesome. The downside, the really big downside is they have no management of operations. I’ve tried call in orders where they say 20 minutes and the food doesn’t come out for 50 minutes. Walk up during lunchtime and good luck if you ever get your sandwich. Bottom line, if you want a good sandwich and you have a couple of hours to kill, it’s greAt!

Stop leaving negative reviews bc of the price! This place is not subway or trying to be subway. It is more expensive and it takes longer, like most good things. You can tell this is a really new staff that is still trying to work out the kinks in the operation. Counter is poorly placed and the staff was yelling at us to move the line away from the door, like we were children. Still a great sandwich shop with fresh ingredients. Not the place to go if you are just looking for a typical sandwich...this place has unique flavors and options that I enjoy. I really hope they are able to work out the kinks because this place has a lot of potential.

Good sandwiches and lots of vegan options. The bread holds up well and tastes great. Only issues I have are: 1. Advertising Zapps as the brand y’all carry and it not being available. My Zapps jalapeño chips cannot be subbed wit non-vegan Miss Vickies (as can be said with other flavor options as well) 2. I love the sentiment, but please don’t put non-vegan lollipops in with a fully vegan order. 😭 All in all, y’all are doing great and I will be returning many more times.

I had the best experience possible. I went in and didn’t see anything that was dirty, tables were clean staff was friendly. What really stood out to me was how In control the manager “Jr” was. He led by example was nice and courteous. He never had that anything else attitude that most restaurant people have it was refreshing, he made the experience 10x better.

Love these sandwiches to death, but I only gave it a 4 because of the smoke the collects inside the store. I don't know what's going on with their ventilation, but I literally cannot sit in the store. Parking is easy and readily available. Lots of sandwich options, including halal chicken and veggies options which is fantastic.

Ike's is a sandwich shop of the highest caliber. Each sandwich, lovingly named and numbered by it's founder, presents a taste that you cannot find at any other shop. You are granted a choice between four types of bread with your sandwich and a choice between regular and vegan options. Further customizations are allowed too! Top it off with chips and a fountain drink and you are ready to enter sandwich nirvana. The staff is friendly and helpful, moving the line along at a great pace, and the shaded outdoor seating gives you great views. To conclude, the pricing is more than reasonable, and the value is self-evident when you receive your sandwich. This sandwich shop has my greatest possible recommendation.

Fantastic and over-the-top sandwiches from a Cali-based company that gained massive popularity over the years (mozzarella sticks in a sandwhich is pretty ridiculous but I'm glad it exists). Had my first one near Stanford and I remember it fondly and the Heights one matched expectations. Can get pricey, but most sandwiches are very large and heavy. Matt Cain, Paul Reuben are amazing. Dutch roll bread is great as well!

I decided to give a shot after seeing so many vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. I tried the Meatless Mike + jalepenos and onions and it did not disappoint. It's a bit on the pricey side for a sandwich, but I'm always trying to support establishments that support vegetarian lifestyles. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu.

I’ve been to Ike’s in SF. This location is just as good. I had Hollywood’s Houston Cheesesteak made with brisket from Pinkerton’s: excellent! Yes, inside is still smoky and it was very cold given the temperature outside and the open doors to alleviate the smoke but I’m sure that will get fixed over time.

Sandwiches are great. Amazing number of both meat and vegan options. Love having such a broad menu. I subtracted one star because the parking situation sucks. The parking lot is not only under sized but it's valet only during lunch. I shouldn't have to (and won't) pay to park my car for a sandwich shop. It's disappointing how far I have to park and walk (and search for parking) just to eat your awesome sandwiches. Hopefully you can find a better solution or even a pickup area / drive by and grab online / app ordered sandwiches.

I ordered the Grant Pinkerton and loved it, it could have used a little more brisket but the bread and veggies were as good as they come. My only real complaint is that the service was not the best, I went at an off time and still waited in line for more than 10 minutes. I am assuming this is just due to growing pain of a new business...

Really wanted to like this place but the menage a trois sandwich was average at best and nothing about it stood out to me. The tables were dirty, and although it wasn't busy when I stopped by it seems like no one could be bothered cleaning them. Staff was very friendly - purchased a fountain drink and when I went for a refill the machine was down so they offered me a free can instead. Despite the fact that my wife and I didn't really care for the sandwich, we appreciate that Ike's offers some halal options to cater to Muslims.

So it was a chilly day and a hot sandwich sounded great for a person who eats mostly salad for lunch. I ordered the Bulldog Sandwich on their famous Dutch roll with the Halal chicken and no add ins. The sandwich was warm, the bread was so good, the meat was nicely seasoned and the veggies and sauces were perfection. The only thing I will say is that it was a tad expensive, $11.11 for a sub, but totally worth it. Plus the lollipop that came with it was delish. Stars all around. I will be back when the carb craving hits again!

My wife and I each split a sandwich from here. I tried the Ménage a Trois and it was legitimately the best sandwich I had ever tried. Perfect flavors, from the bread (incredible) to the meat (great quality) to the sauces and toppings (delicious), everything was amazing. I was truly blown away. Then, I tried the Pinkerton’s, and my life hasn’t been the same since. Unquestionably the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I know this review seems facetious, but I swear to God every word is true. You’ll wait a bit for your sandwich, you’ll pay more than most sandwich places, but it’s worth every minute and every penny because it’s way better than any other possible option in the entire city. Plus, the owner, Mark Appel, is an amazing dude. Overall just a great experience in every way possible. Go now!!

It was very good. Didn't transform my sandwich world, but the most important barometer: my kid who doesn't eat sandwiches ate a sandwich. So win. Will go back. I felt the special sauces lacked zest/spice/pizzazz (especially the one saying it had habanero which was about as spicy as a warm spring day)

Ike's Sandwiches in the Heights is spectacular! They are very vegan-friendly. All of the bread is vegan as is their dirty sauce (which I want to roll around in) and they have Daiya cheese. We got the Meatless Mike, Time Traveler's Wife, and Robert Woodrow Wilson with the yellow bbq instead of the Pinkerton's sauce since it wasn't vegan. There were 3 of us and we shared everything and they cut the sandwiches 3 ways for us. I cannot wait to go back! Welcome to Houston, Ike's! We are glad you came!

I am not vegan but I do enjoy a GOOD MEATLESS options when given the chance and I would say the flavors in the handsome owl was on point!! Great service. I got the menage a trois which was great. I’ve also heard good things about the Matt Cain and the Madison bumgarner but haven’t tried those yet. The food took a bit of time to order but the location was pretty busy and the food came out piping hot when it did. No complaints.

Can a sandwich shop possibly get better every time you go there? That's been my experience so far. I've now tried the Andrew Luck, Grant Pinkerton, Nnekanator, Jaymee Sirewich, Mark Appel, Matt Cain, Lizzie McGuire, and the Madison Bumgarner... and I'm yet to find one that is not a 5 star sandwich. Great people, great food, great addition to the Heights. Gotta get the dutch crunch bread.

Waited a couple of months for this place to open, took the fam in - Pros - Service- friendly, happy to answer bunches of questions in their large menu. Food - Excellent diversity of options, including almost half the menu being vegetarian- huge win for half the fam. Proprietary sauces work out well,THE BREAD was the hands down winner of all the sandwiches! Fresh ingredients, warmed nicely, best I've had in HTX. I had the Bruce, recommend it. Beverages- this lost the star. Tea had sweet tea in both bins, so I let them know, seems like they weren't sure what to do. And no other sugar free options. By the time we'd all finished, one bin was drained. They were taking care of it.

Today is June 28th, I tried to order online at 3pm but the earliest time it showed for pick was 4:15. I tried to call in my order and the music is too loud, the guy answered and said hold on then when he picked up the phone he was talking to a co worker. I waited patiently then he asked what I wanted to order i started giving him my order and he is talking to another customer taking their order. WTH. Im like hello but the phone is so noisy with static and loud music. I hang up and arrive here. Everyone seems to be in a bad mood. The guys shaking his head at another co worker, the girl with purple hair is shaking her head, she making the sandwiches slamming the paper down then will toss it to the side out of her way, and she wrapped them as if she did it in the dark.. Worst experience so far. If I had not paid I would've left. Today i happen to pass by and thought i give it a try. Let me just say "oh my goodness" this was by far the best sandwich I've ever had. I got the Lizzy McGuire. Must try this place out if your in the area. I will be coming back.

I have tried the ménage trios sandwich which consists of chicken, 3 cheese 🧀, lettuce and Ike’s secret sauce on a Dutch crunch bread. Wow! There are 500+ sandwiches to choose from. This is the 2nf time I have been to this sandwich shop. Food is pretty tasty, however this time the portion in the steak sandwich I got that had onion rings in it was small. Should of had at least 4 oring it had 2 small ones. The portion size of the steak was maybe 4oz at best. There isn't really much to their atmosphere as it is a small store. Prices are a bit steep even with a 3 dollar off coupon I still paid 45 bucks.

And so I decided to visit the place, The place is very good, the atmosphere is the same, but the sandwich 🥖 is super good. Since I was my first visit, I ordered the most popular and it convinced me, very tasty and recommended.
