This place was delicious! I tried the Boricuazo which was very good - like a cubano but with crispy chopped bacon along with turkey and ham. The bread was perfect, smashed and crisp. We had some mini mofongo on the side which was tasty, but couldn't finish it all! Very generous portions.

The monfongo suppose to be a popular dish. The food is savory not sweet at all. The shrimp monfongo is decent portion. The shrimp is regular size. It's still plenty enough to eat. The service was little slow to operate when the restaurant is not even packed. Next time will try the Cuban sandwich.

This restaurant is small but they have really good food. My favorite part is that they have Christian music playing as well as they also have Bible verses around the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and lovable. Love their frappes and their sandwiches. I recommend 100% you just have to be patient because they do take abit of time to bring the food out.

AWFUL!!!Im updating the review like Google asked me to.. I went tonight to get a Pina coloda. When I want something sweet I like to go here. Since I have gone many times I can say with out a doubt that I got an AWFUL PINA COLODA TONIGHT. IT'S NEVER BAD,, this was so bad it made my stomach hurt and the consistency wasn't even right.. I can make these at home, but it's something I go get for when I want dessert, and Don't want to make it myself.. I don't know what happened but it was awful . We just were there ate and had a Pina coloda a few weeks ago and everything was good like normal. 🤷🏽‍♀️

It was a Monday night. Food was good and the service. The Music was old Salsa which I enjoyed a lot. There was a table that was not cleaned for a while due to short staff. I ordered mofongo with fried chicken. It was a lot of food. I also order a Coco Rico. I got a India brand Coco it was so sweet I could not drink it. Coco Rico is very unique.

I give it a 4 star cause the sandwich was bang... Honestly I ordered two sandwiches and two can sodas and a thing that I for got the name of and paid a little over $23 before I ask for the 3rd thing the sandwiches were already at $20 i felt like that was way to much like I was telling my girl you guys should add more meat and cheese to these sandwiches for the price and that's another thing ya been open for a while now ya should have prices on the menu I also read on the front door you can't get your money back if the order was wrong something like that maybe not give the money back but if your guys mess up on an order it should be taken care of... Besides that the sandwich was good I would definitely go again I just hope next time ya at least take some of the reviews into consideration

This place has the best frappes in New England. The food was super tasty and they have great customer service. It's quite affordable. You might have to pay for parking as the location is tucked into a small road with very little parking in a busy area. $10. If you're looking for a nice spot to enjoy Puerto Rican food & treats this is it. It's usually open till Midnight.

The place is nice. Has no parking. They have a sign that says to make sure you order and confirm your order because they will not change or refund. I ordered a Poeta Special. I made sure to ask the person ringing me up what it had and she said it brought pork. I get home. 15 mins away and to my surprise no pork. Very upsetting as it was over priced for what I did get. Frappes are great. Most have so much sugar you could die of diabetes even by just looking at it.

It took a minute for my food to be ready and though it was worth the wait, it would have been nice to hear more updates. When I asked after 30 minutes how much longer it would take, I feel like I got attitude from the person who took my order. I ordered takeout and if I knew the wait would be that long, I would've called ahead to pick it up instead of sitting in the restaurant's uncomfortable seats. That being said, the tostones were perfect and the fried chicken met my expectations. I'm hoping to go back to try more of their menu.

It smells amazing as soon as you walk in. Their food is very good and their drinks are delicious. The Nutella is a must try if you are a chocolate lover.

i think their food is great, but what is going on inside this place?? we called them a day before since we knew they had been closing intermittently to make sure they would be open the next day and they said "yeah, we'll be open for lunch" so we go there, at 12:15 pm, and guess what? The door is locked and all the lights are off. No sign, no "will be back in 5" or anything!! What kind of business practice is that?! So we go eat somewhere else down the street. Ten minutes later, i see someone go inside. It's infuriating to say the least. When they are open, they tend to blast music out of an overpowered amplifier directly at the ordering counter so nobody involved in the transaction can hear anything the other person says. It's very frustrating and could be solved by turning it down or physically turning the speaker around to the kitchen, presumably who it's for in the first place. This poor communication is especially frustrating because their menu is so vague and if you haven't been here before, you won't possibly know what you're getting unless you can hear over the loud music. A very chaotic place. That being said, their sandwiches are incredible! It's barely worth all of the headache involved but they are quite good. I really hope their mismanagement doesn't tank this restaurant because i would miss their sandwiches so much. Please stop making these weird and bad decisions!! I can't give you money if your operating hours are inconsistent. I love your food but please get it together!

Sandwiches are good, with good flavor. We made the mistake of ordering 4 Frappes after eating and they took 1 hour to get them. I guess they were not expecting too many people and had only 2 employees. In total, we spent 2 hours there. The flavor of the Frappes were good as well, so that is why I only took off 1 star.

Its okay, I expected to be more wao factor as well as the food but it wasent . It was very clean the person who cook was very nice but for me as a Puertorrican the carne frita needed more taste instead of just tasting like meat. I dont know more sazon or adobo but and the Frapes wasent neither wao factor I thought they would taste more fruity. Overall I would give 3.5 . I go to restaurants to try new things and to enjoy but I am very critic about taste, looks, quality, cleanliness. I know they can do better, maybe is lack of personal.

Five of us were in Hartford and needed late night food and they were as friendly as we could ever ask for. The Cuban sandwiches were out of this world and the whole experience was fantastic ! I highly recommend them.

Good food & gigantic frappes, glad the new location is a little bigger but it still gets too packed.. our last visit we stood there waiting for 1 sandwich & 2 frappes for an hour until a table to wait at finally opened up. They're often so busy they cannot answer the phone that rings off the hook so u can't call ahead to reduce your wait time either unless it's a slow time.

Hay Dios mío!!! If you never been here you are missing out!! They have great fruit smoothies and the food is really good. The restaurant is small but it really works. They are open until 3 am so if you went out and just want some food please go here, you are going to be amazed. The plates are so big you can share.

I drove from Indian Orchard the Frappe was good, I ordered a pastrami sandwich and they overcooked it so it was dry and hard to bite. I had to break it apart with my fingers & the bread was so toasted it cut the inside of my mouth. They need to work on doing sandwiches and then they will be excellent. I heard about the owner not having good customer service but she was nice to me.

19 minutes from card swipe to receiving my Poeta Special sandwich to-go. Not complaining, just setting expectations. Was a little surprised at the price after ordering one sandwich off a menu w/ no prices, but to be fair, it's a big, tasty sandwich.

This place is not worth the headache. Waited for an hour for them to get my order wrong. There wasn't anywhere to sit, no prices on the menu, music was so loud everyone literally had to yell to have a conversation. And to top it all off no parking nearby. I will not be returning

Place can be slow when busy. We have gone here plenty. We went last Sunday again after the Connecticut Science Center and ordered a big appetizer platter that never disappoints! Comes with alot of the popular Puerto Rican foods. Will add picture. It costs $40 but, easily feeds 2 adults and 3 kids. We also love their frappes as well. We love the nutella one with toppings and the strawberry cheesecake is the best! Now that covid is around I think the dining room is closed but, I think it helps the crowd as it wasn't busy at all. I called the order in and it was ready in 25 minutes. We really recommend them. We don't recommend them if your in a rush incase they get busy.

Outstanding service . Food is fresh and makes me feel at home in PR . On a historical street in Hartford . This is a must stop for Puerto Rican sandwiches and out of this world frappes . Check them out and make sure you get a frappe .

I got the 5 star sandwich and that was alright. I also got the nutella smoothie/milkshake and that was horrid. The thing is already made with nutella and they added like a cup of sugar to it on top of that. All I could taste were the sugar granules and it was disgusting, I had to throw mine out, couldn't even drink it. I was really upset by that although my coworker who got the same didn't seem to have quite as much sugar in his so he kept drinking it. But really, it was awful, if you want to get anything like that there tell them no or very little added sugar.

No other sandwich like it in Hartford! A few tips: Everything comes with ketchup unless you say otherwise and all sandwiches are made fresh so just know after ordering you will be waiting about 10-15 minutes, but is well worth the wait!

This was not what i expected, Order took over an hour for a Jibarito and Fries, fries we're not cooked all the way, ordered steak and cheese and i got chopped ground beef with soggy plantains. Definitely will not go back

When placing an order by call they will charge you a mandatory tip of 15% of your purchase and they don't even let you know about this supposed tip until you go to the store and see the charge on your receipt. Acho the place does not have parking, they charged me $12 for the sandwich, the old bread and to top it off you have to pay $5 for parking because the place does not have parking.
