I have eaten at Fiss' many times over the years. It's a convenient stop when passing thru Carlisle. The sandwiches are really good, and they have some great ice cream. The atmosphere is perfectly small-town, and the staff are really friendly. I recommend stopping in for a cone or a sandwich or both!

I have been coming here since I was a little girl. Their subs are SO GOOD, much better than subway and for the same price, if not cheaper! They have the best ice cream and frozen yogurt and I just love the atmosphere of the place. Everytime I go in there the place is packed with friendly and familiar faces. Just a fun place to eat in general.

Friendly and courteous staff. Clean environment. I hadn't visited Fiss in years! It was such a treat to stop for a bite to eat and find the food is as good as ever and the ice cream is still out of this world! The serving sizes and prices will fill your belly without emptying your wallet! I have never had anything that I didn't like here. I hope to visit the area again so I can stop here for food and ice cream! I highly recommend this place!

First time going here. Very quaint place. Famous for ice cream and tacos. This told me by the employee that took my order. The food was very good. Their subs are good. Way better than the other place u can go in town for subs. Friendly and quick service. Would recommend and I will be back.

I've been going here for decades actually for millenniums. I will continue to go there. I love the chocolate milkshakes and they've got excellent sandwiches. I highly recommend it!!

They make a great burrito, though they call it a taco for some reason. They use a burrito tortilla and wrap it up like a burrito - it's a burrito, people. Never disappoints and very reasonably priced. I only wish the tortillas were made fresh, but that's asking a lot. Their ice cream is delicious too!

Small, locally owned. Always get service with a smile. Love the drive up for quick Congress for the kids. Food is good. Bread is a little flimsy for the size subs you get, but it doesn't keep us away. Kids live the different fro-yo flavor of the week. Lots of choices and nearly all of them delicious.

This is our favorite little sub shop in all of the Des Moines area. Their bread and meats are fresh and so delicious! I always follow up lunch with a Snickers Fizz or a twist cone. Such reasonable prices, too! We live 20+ mins away and will drive here on a nice day or a day when we need to get out of the house. The owner is almost always there. Just overall a Carlisle gem. I wish we had one in our little town. 5 stars!

Good place for ice cream treats made to order. I had their version of a blizzard called a grasshopper, which is mint ice cream mixed with crushed oreos. Got a small could not eat it all. Noticed that they have subs and salads. Must come back and try that. Forgot to mention besides many flavors of blizzards. There are shakes, sundaes, and cones.

The wife and I do lunch here often we can dine in and make her lunch time with time to spare. Fast and friendly services at a fare price. My personal favorite place in Carlisle of course I do have quite the sweet tooth so after a good meal I can get my fix at fiss, their ice cream is the best. "Cowboy"
