A small cafe tucked in a corner, with simple but good food. Expected the space to be larger, but without the patio being available during colder months, the indoors space is actually not that big. Tried the croissant sandwich and was impressed at how fresh the components were. The side of pancakes were not bad but not as fluffy as they looked. Drip coffee was a bit too bitter for me. I recommend coming for their fresh offerings like eggs, french toast, etc. It's worth noting that the price is generous given the quality of food, and I would recommend Spices Cafe as a casual breakfast/brunch spot.

My favorite breakfast spot in Denver gets overlooked for trendier establishments. It's also easy to overlook this place given that the building it's in is packed with other businesses and just when you think you've found them all, there's another. The entrance to Spices is on Humboldt. There's some outdoor seating and indoors exist both tables and a counter. Grab a menu when you walk in and order and pay at the register. They'll bring you your food, wherever you choose to sit. I've never had a bad meal here. Some key things that I love: 1. The classical music. They always play classical and I love it. 2. The hashbrowns. They are hand shredded, never frozen, and always amazing. 3. The crowd, or lack thereof. I want this place to do well, so I won't complain too hard if this changes, but so far every time I've visited it's been really pleasant and chill. 4. The service is always friendly and fast. We used to live in walking distance and now we don't at all. I'm happy they've survived the pandemic this far. If you haven't tried this place, do it. You'll get a nice meal in pleasant environment and that's a lot, in my book.

The best breakfast spot in Denver doesn't serve breakfast anymore...I know they went to catering only last year but I still google the place every few months to see if the kitchen has reopened to no avail. Unfortunately, I must accept that I'll never have another delicious chicken fried steak unless I order enough to be catered. Not a bad idea for fans of this place to get together and have breakfast catered...just a thought. RIP spices cafe ( the actual cafe that is closed🥺)

Sandwiches were good, but over priced and they don't give you alot of sides. I got about 4 onion rings with my sandwich, and the other sandwich we got chips and it wasn't alot either. I ordered 2 Sandwiches and a few cans of soda and spent a little over $30. But then again thats everywhere you go now. Just wished they wouldn't be so stingy with the sides.

This is a great spot! Had lunch here got the tuna croissant. Had great service, indoor and outdoor seating. Has breakfast and lunch menu. Worth a stop!

Hidden little spot. Order at the counter and grab a seat. First time here but so far the shrimp and goat cheese frittata is insane. Tons of veg, hot and fresh. Plenty of coffee and quiet classical music. Excellent way to start a Sunday.

fabulous breakfast food. my friend got the sourdough french toast with berries and hash browns. we got biscuits and gravy to share, highly recommended. i got the croissant breakfast sandwich which was incredible (it falls apart so be warned!) – it has cheesy eggs and a nice rich herb sauce. great place for quick eats with good prices. 9.8/10

By chance found this cute small cafe with the best food. I had the veggie omelette with hash browns and it was amazing. The hash browns are the best I’ve had. Seasoned perfectly! This is now going to be our go to spot to meet up with friends for brunch.

Adorable little cafe with a lovely patio. The staff was super polite and attentive and I could tell there was love put into my sandwich (as corny as that might sound lol). I had the French dip. It was a good amount of meat, well seasoned, on good bread. The fries were perfectly crispy too. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful breakfast location right off Colfax. It is a quiet spot so it is not ideal for brunch conversation but, it would be a great spot for a lunch date or a quiet break in the morning.

Loved it! We were trying to find a place for Sunday morning brunch and everywhere had at least an hour wait time, not here though! We didn’t wait at all for an outside table and our food got to us within about 5 minutes! My wife got the croissant sandwich and loved it, I got the Denver omelette with pancakes and everything was top notch. Super happy to have found this place!

We stopped by for breakfast and were very impressed with the food! I am not a huge breakfast person, so it was really nice that I could order off the regular menu while the rest of our party ordered breakfast. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions.

The food is really tasty. They have patio seating and are dog friendly. The first time I went they were on top of mask wearing, so I felt comfortable returning with my daughter. The second time, none of the workers were wearing their masks properly. One of the employees was laying out silverware with great attention, with his face about a foot from the silverware, with his mask on his chin. It's a shame that it's not a place I feel safer from exposure, because the food was tasty.

It's not fancy but it's super affordable and normally there is no wait. Patio is nice. If you are sick of all the two hour brunch spots and just want cheap fast eggs and meat check out spices.

Found this when looking for a breakfast spot in downtown Denver. Parking is sparse, but still worth it. Everything is delicious.. Even the hash browns.. Hand grated and herbs... The omelets, cooked perfectly with the ingredients cooked into the eggs, the pancakes... Fluffy not dense. I'm pretty sure the guy who took our order owns the place, but he was super friendly. Even put the water jug and extra coffee on the table. Probably the best restaurant breakfast I've ever had.

Even though picking up takeout for breakfast isn't the best way to judge a restaurant, all the dishes I've tried at Spices Cafe have been artfully prepared and, more importantly, delicious and filling. My first impression was the menu was a bit limited. Then when I ordered my coffee he went above and beyond to get me real cream, which I appreciate. Just to look at my Denver I could tell it would be a treat. The fillings were chopped, not diced. And of course, the fist bite was an explosion of flavor that didn't disappoint. I asked that my hash browns be extra crisp, but like most kitchens that was a flop. My son's Philly lacked the appropriate amount of cheese, but was overloaded with green peppers. He enjoyed the fries, nice and crisp.

Wonderful little hidden gem behind Scooter Liquors. Great fresh flavors, prices can't be beat for the amount of food you get, made fresh by a very talented chef! Good customer service too.

I've been coming for years and I love this place. Love!!!! Tidy, peaceful, reasonably priced and so so delicious. Micheal is very consistent and I always get BLT on croissant with fries, or meatloaf sandwich, and I must mention the pancakes are SO good too! I really think it's the best BLT I can find around town. I'm always surprised more people haven't heard of it. It's easy to grab food to go and take it on a picnic in the park too!

We were told Spices was a good restaurant within walking distance. We are so glad to have gotten that recommendation! The food was generous and delicious. I had the homemade soup which was really good. One of us had breakfast and the other lunch. Both of us enjoyed every bite. The restaurant is located on a side street but is just off a main road. If you’re looking for something local and delicious, this is a great choice.

Our favorite breakfast place in Denver- get the burrito! It's "simple" food done well- perfectly seasoned. The specials I've had were delicious. Be sure to call ahead or check the site for hours because they close for catering sometimes.

Really great coffee here! Order at the counter and sit where you'd like. You can sit at a bar looking out to Park avenue which is beautiful in the Winter. They give you a whole pot of coffee when you order so it is a great place to sit and do some work. Their green chili is to die for!!!!! Their ingredients are noticably better than most breakfast locations.

Every thing I've had at spices is the best version of that food I've ever eaten. Best veggie burger, best onion rings, best pancakes, perfectly cooked eggs. They serve good sized portions for surprisingly low prices, and the staff and atmosphere are warm and inviting.

Breakfast burrito was monstrous and super tasty. As per the waiter's suggestion I did not order an extra side of hash browns and it was the right choice. Parking isn't easy to find on this back street cafe, but there wasn't much else wrong with it. Loved the meal and it wasn't very pricey.

This first visit in 5 years. I deleted former review as would been incorrect. My companion and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch their on Tuesday 8/14. As my vision is very bad now at 72. I have hemianopia a condition in which the visual fields of both eyes are cut by half.The first very important impression was of general cleanliness of dining area. Later the same can be said for facilities. It seems if bath or dining area not clean I wonder about the cooking areas and kitchen help. I will return as for $24 with 20% tip we had good service and excellent meals. There are restaurants unnamed I will not return as facilities in total did not seem sanitary. No alcohol and indoor did not notice TV. If Spices was near full I think it would be uncomfortable to me with age impairments but food with thevisit. Service can seem slow but food was presented hot looking fresh. After several more visits the Denver omelette , hash browns pancake are delicious the maple syrup is provided warm. Be sure when ordering to express how cooked you want meats or eggs. Has outdoor eating area on West side. Noise level is low enough that normal conversation is possible.
