Chicago classic Italian sub shop, great quality food. The owner is very sweet and she takes care of you personally. This is my go to spot after getting hair cut across the street at handcrafted barber shop! Love this place!!

You wouldn't think finding a great sub shop would be so difficult. After all, it's just cold cuts, cheese, and bread, right? How can you fail at that? Where other shops fall short, Vinnie's does not. It's all about the bread, you've got to have a sturdy, crusty roll that gets the job done. Check. Then, you've got to have plentiful options, not just a turkey and cheese or an Italian, but some interesting options and playful specials. Check. The toppings have got to be there too, not too heavy or overdone, but just enough to bring the whole thing together. Check, yet again. Oh, and do you like reasonable prices and the sweetest Italian lady you've ever met behind the counter? Then get over to Vinnie's asap!

The subs were tasty!!! I got the smoked turkey and the Italian sub. The lady running the sub shop was really sweet. Vinnie’s was a super small sub shop. I got there at 11:22am and walked out at 12:02pm. It took 40 mins to get the 5 subs. The guy in front of me had a 30 sub order and so many grub hub and uber eats drivers kept coming in to pick up online orders; plus other people kept coming in off the street to get a sub. The phone kept ringing and the lady wasn’t answering the phone. LOL She shut all the online food delivery services off because they were too busy. It was kind of funny actually.

Good sandwiches but got rid of lettuce the last 2-3 weeks because they don’t want to “pass the extra cost to the customer.” I would rather pay extra for lettuce than eat a sandwich without lettuce.

Wonderful staff member welcomed us. Explained what sandwich options they have and suggested to try their special for that day the smoked turkey sandwich which was fantastic and mouthwatering. It’s a small sub shop few seats available but service was quick and prices are so affordable for a yummy sandwich!

Went there for the first time today and wow the staff is so so so nice and friendly they greeted us like we were regulars! Such a great atmosphere and experience! The food was delicious and was ready in no time! I can’t wait to go back and try more sandwiches.

Love Vinnies Sub Shop. Been stopping every time I’m in town. Straight up Turkey and provolone with hot peppers. So tasty. The atmosphere and service is great as well. Very quick with the orders.

Obviously lots of great sandwich spots on grand ave, this place is no exception. The pesto mayois something that separates it from the other spots. Also, the lady who works the counter is THE nicest ever - big part of the experience. It's always fast and delicious.

Just popped in because a certain sub shop on Randolph was closed and man, delicious! As everyone else here notes, the lady behind the counter is sweet as pie, the food is fresh (the bread, incredible from D'Amatos right down the street), exactly the kind of sub you think of when you're craving a solid Italian deli sub. We love this place and order from here a lot (more than we’d like to admit). If you’re craving a really good sub, this is your place. Great vegetarian options like the roasted eggplant sandwich or you can get a meat-free caprese sandwich. The customer service is always wonderful. My fiancée and I walked past this place a few times and finally googled it see what the menu is like. In doing so, I saw all of the rave reviews. The next day, we ordered online for lunch. I got the Turkey pesto sandwich and he got the Italian. OMG AMAZING! We both thought it was one of the best sandwiches we ever had and even with a ten minute walk gone after I picked it up, the sandwiches were fresh and delicious. The employees were also very kind and attentive. So happy we decided to stop in and next tune we’re going to try some of the craft sodas! 😋

Friendly staff, super fast, great sandwiches! before you go throwing your money away on half-rate super chain sandwiches, properly treat yourself with this place. I suggest the roast beef and cheddar, or the turkey pesto mayo.

Great place for a sub sandwich. To me bread is what makes or breaks a sub and this bread has the crispy exterior crust and soft inside which makes it perfect. Prices are pretty inexpensive seeing what area of the city it is. Large selection or sodas or iced teas that you can't find at many other places. The lady at the counter is very nice and makes you feel welcome. Will definitely be coming back.

We moved to the area recently and this no frills sub shop is the friendliest and most down-to-earth lunch spot. My husband and I both ordered the Italian and it was less expensive and WAY yummier than any sub chain restaurant's wannabe Italian sub. We can't wait to walk over again for lunch soon.

Excellent value and a great tasting sub. I've never met a kinder owner/manager than at Vinny's. I feel like I've walked into a relatives house that I haven't seen in a long time. In a land of sandwich shops (Chicago), Vinnie's is my absolute favorite. The ingredients are always amazingly fresh, the people are friendly, and the service is fast. Ralph the delivery guy is also awesome. If you go, try the Turkey pesto Mayo special (which has been the special since I started going three years ago). I swoon every time I take a bite.

The owners are great here. They also own the hardware store next door. In fact this store front use to be part of the hardware store until they added on the sandwich shop. It was a brilliant move by the owners to start making subs here. Down the street is Bari which is the original Italian chicago sub place with a line that goes out the door at lunch time. This place is a great alternative to waiting in the line. Is the sandwich the same? No but it's darn good. In fact, many businesses have copied Bari and started serving subs like Dmatos Bakery & JP Graziano. This sub thing is really competitive in this neighborhood. In fact, it's like a sub war. Everyone has their favorite. I recommend you go out there and find out which one you love the best.
