Mr. Submarine, right below the L, was a fantastic find. Probably the best food value in the inner city. The 12” subs are massive. The type you only need to buy 1 and share it. We got the Mr. Submarine and a Gyro sub. Both were delicious. Fast service on a Saturday at lunch time. Clean. Places to eat in, but there were many take out orders while we were there. If you’re really hungry and have a few minutes to eat, stop by Mr. Submarine. I don’t get to Chicago often, but the next time I’m in town I’d certainly stop by again.

If you're looking for a bang for your buck spot, well oh boy do I have the place 4 you! Mr. Submarine, located mere feet from the Washington/Wells ''L" stop, is affordable, clean, and has some gr8 décor ( Red n White , go subs !!). I dined at this location at about 4:53 on a Wednesday. No line and the subs took less than a minute to make. I got the King Sized Cold Roast Beef sando. They lay it on super thicc here n I mean that! I of course opted for the "value' meal which is a drink (they have RC cola AND Dr. Pepper, tough choice but I went with Rc) and your choice of chips or soup. I got chips and my friend got teh soup. 5/5 would dine again , thank you Mr. Submarine for full filling all my Mr. Submarine dreams 😉 here's a few pics of my experience, hope this review helps and thx for listening

Love this place, it is my comfort food. They have way better sub sandwiches then anyone else. When every I good out of town or coming back I always stop by Mr. Submarine. It is one of my favorite place to go to leave and return back to Chicago. 😋 I can never buy just one it is either 2 to 6 sub sandwiches at a time and it all for myself.

Quick, fast and inexpensive(especially for the area) The sandwiches are just flavorful enough to be satisfying on a empty stomach. If you are expecting hand-crafted gourmet sandwiches this establishment is not for you. If you want something light and/or are on a budget but you want your hunger craved then this is the place for you. Cold sandwiches are handed to you before your card is even swiped and when I’m in a rush that’s the energy I need. My only complaint is STOP going up on prices because it won’t be worth it for the customer. I use to get two mr subs for $5 now 2 are $7.

Mr submarine is always amazing eats. From when I first had it when I was 5 to now when I'm almost 40. Its always amazing and doesn't disappoint. Will come back again. Staff was awesome and food came out quick!!

A sub, chips and a drink for under $5, is probably the best deal around the area. Their subs are pretty decent, specially their pastrami and corned beef combo. Italian beef was also pretty good, done like a good traditional grease joint. Only draw back was no Coke or Pepsi, only RC cola.

I love Mr Sub! I like all the sandwiches I've had there, but my favorite is still the original Mr Sub. They have a 2 original subs for $5.50 deal that's hard to beat. The staff is always friendly and fast.

Best lunch deal I've found so far in the loop. No lie, you can get a 7" sub any way you like it, with either a bag of chips or cup of soup, and a drink--all for under $6! Mr. Submarine subs have always been good and I just recently tried the chicken gumbo soup...delicious. Service is always fast and friendly. Glad it's only a block away from the office!

This place was poppin', fast paced counter service with delicious, very affordable priced hit and cold subs. I got a classic Italian sub, chips and a drink for under $7. Subway doesn't even come close to that in price or quality. Highly recommend it!

When I want a good deal on a sandwich, this is where I come for lunch. I don't know how they do it, but somehow they stay in business selling delicious, loaded sandwiches for under $5. Last time I came here, I got the steakburger sandwich. When you stand in line, they shout to you to get your order before you're even at the window. This keeps the line moving quickly, which is important since the shop isn't that big and it's pretty popular. The sandwich itself was surprisingly delicious and just filling enough. The burger is nice and thick and they put a few slices of melty cheese on it so it tastes just like a normal burger. When hungry and on a budget, choose Mr Submarine!

Love Mr. Sub!!! Try and ask for the coupon at the register. As of 11/20/2015, chip, drink and reg sub is $6.07. Not too bad for downtown Chicago! My favs are are the corned beef, roast beef and turkey subs!!!

Mr submarine serves some of the cheapest food in the loop and I find it weirdly addicting despite the so so quality. I think it's the bread is my favorite part. The service is always really friendly and fast.
