I recently was able to get some takeout from Yen's for the first time, and it definitely won't be the last. I got the meatball Bahn Mi, and the flavor and texture was excellent. Everything was fresh, and the bread was exceptionally good. The meat pies are also a must-get item. My only regret with the meat pies is that we didn't get more than two. I'll definitely be back for more, it was delicious.

I've been to Yen's multiple times and it's always amazing! I usually order the BBQ pork bánh mí; however, I switched it up for the grilled shrimp sandwich today and I was not disappointed - it was great. Yen's has an easy and convenient online ordering process. If you're looking for other recommendations, the crab rangoons, meat pies, and egg custard buns are also delicious. Definitely give Yen's a try!

We stopped by on a road trip because they had good reviews. The food was fast and delicious. My kids really liked the boba smoothies. Go for the kiwi!! There was also a little mound park right next door to stretch our legs at before getting back on the road. Loved it!

I’m not a big sandwich person but when I tasted these sandwiches I was immediately impressed and hooked. To me sandwiches taste the same but not Yen’s. Oh these sandwiches are seasoned to perfection,vegetables crisp and the bread is so soft and good. Best sandwich I had in a long time.

Yen’s sandwiches were DELISH! They are already vegan- no modification necessary. The soy curls tasted like juicy ham. I’ve never had anything quite like it. The smoothie hit the spot on a hot day, and the surrounding area is walkable and full of shops and history like the Native American mound. The staff at Yen’s were very sweet, and the price was low. I can’t wait until my next lunch date!

The banh mi sandwiches really taste great, but charging $8 or more for the small amount of meat and cheaper vegetables is way too high, even with inflation. There is no atmosphere at all. The "clerk" behind the counter has no personality; the customer seems to be a burden to her. The several pisted warning signs are only excusable if you assume cultural differences: Eg, lecturing the customer that requesting no ice will not get them more of the ordered drink. Bottom line: Good takeout food but way overpriced for what you get.

Oh my goodness, love this place! We get to-go because we're not eating indoors yet, and always appreciate whatever delicious treats we decide on that day. Loved the veggie sandwich I got my first visit, love their vegetarian pho (this place is awesome for vegetarians), always appreciate the great service (my veggie food is always labeled so I don't have to worry or, worse, accidently eat meat I can't digest, and it's always carefully packaged so it gets home safe). Great people, great food, and it's so fun to try new things (love the chrysanthemum tea in the cooler, love the pastry and dessert options). In a year that has so lacked for joy and fun, extra appreciating this wonderful little hole in the wall restaurant.

We had Banh Mi’s, Steak Soup, Spring Rolls, and tried the Mung Bean Pudding for dessert and it was all incredible. It’s rare to get this quality of Vietnamese food in the US so far from the West Coast. We strongly recommend a stop at Yen’s Sandwiches if you’re a local or just passing through Charleston, as we were.

I’ve been eating here for about a year. They have the best Thai milk tea in WV. If you order food you have to get the veggie pho. It’s warm, welcoming, and a 10/10 over all experience. Staff is so nice and helpful.

Food is very delicious, but a bit on the pricer end for viet food. Ban Mi has incredibly fresh, soft, and crunchy bread. Ingredients taste quality. Pho is also incredibly tasteful with meaty broth. Customer service is the only downside of the establishment.

I had the pork meatball sub and it was delicious! The buns had to have been baked fresh! I wished we‘d live closer to Charlestown. We also tried the fried rice and fried dumplings. Everything was fresh and really good. We’ll definitely stop by when we are in the area.

4.5 stars I had Thai bubble tea, the flavor is great, why 4.5 itdue to the straw being too narrow it cannot fit the boba through, and too much ice for the standard order. Otherwise great place, the line was huge for such a small place which I hope that means their food is that good, sadly allot of it is porked based so can't really try it out!

Cheap subs with home baked bread... try the avacado smoothie. I had the fried rice the other day. Best in Charleston (that I have had) - crown used to be Chin's in KC (RIP) but this is very similar and delicious.

Great sandwiches with unique tastes. We also enjoy pho and my wife likes the bubble tea. The service is very fast. If you're going in for the first time, you may want to take a look at the menu before heading inside. I suggest going outside of your comfort zone to try something new. I've never ordered anything there that wasn't delicious. A wonderful addition to the South Charleston restaurant selection.

Sandwich is great. Bread is a little more cripy. The spring rolls are okay but not as good as the ones from Goose Creek SC in the 90's. That one had shredded napa cabbage, spring onion sticking out, bean sprouts, rice noodles, mint leaf, slice of roast pork and one shrimp sliced.

Great food and good service! If you like something different and authentic tasting, Yen's Sandwiches is the place! They don't just serve sandwiches. There are soups and other food items that are very good. Be sure to try one of their bubble teas. Very good!

I've lived in bigger metros (like SF) and traveled the world. Yen's pork meatball is one of the top Vietnamese sandwiches I've ever had. I make it a point to visit at least 2-3 times when I visit home. Plus they're very nice people.

Exceptionally delicious food if you are looking for a breath of fresh air. My wife and I stop in a couple of times a week. I can’t get enough of the S5, which is a chicken sandwich. When I am really hungry I add extra meat. Yen’s can be both a light and a hardy meal. However, the sandwiches have a bit of a spicy bite to them and some unique tastes, so they might not be for everyone. I’m not super big into spices, and I required more than one bottle of water to finish the pulled pork sandwich. My daughter did not care for her sandwich, so proceed with caution if you have young children.

Never tip them less than 20% because they deserve nothing less!! They’re fast and the sandwiches are a great price. I recommend ordering online before you get there because it’s so hard to be patient. I had seen that shop often, it’s right across from where I worked. Finally a coworker talked it up to me and it didn’t disappoint. Just wish they were open later!

This place is incredible. After wanting to try it out, and kept hearing great things about it, I finally did. and I WAS NOT disappointed. Fair prices for fantastic tasting food, and the service was just as fantastic! Which is lacking in todays world. This is why I eat locally owned and operated mom n pop places, and you should too!!! Great Experience. Had the Tara smoothie which had a very unique kindof like popcorn taste to me. The cashier said it was a kind of root. My mom and I enjoyed it much. We also had a tuna deli sandwich which was awesome. We asked what was in the sandwiches and she knew all the ingredients and was clear with any questions. The flavors were the perfect combination. Well worth the price and we sat there for awhile chatting to other customers and they all agree the place is great. Very kind people, good prices, fresh food and clean. I have no complaints.

I've had banh mi from around the country and these are easily the best. My wife is from Vietnam and she feels the same. Lots of other great dishes, too. Excellent banh rieu. Fairly authentic with the ingredients available in a small, West Virginia town.

This place was amazing! Friendly staff, quick service. Bahn mi was fantastic, both pork and vegetarian (fresh bread, great meat, crisp, fresh veggies). Smoothies with boba were some of the best I've ever had (I always enjoy taro, and while avocado can be hard to balance the sweet with the creamy, this one was awesome). We grabbed a couple of desserts de jour (banana bread/cake and pandan cake) that were great as well. Highly recommend this place!

Had the veggie sandwich, which came with marinated radish and chopped tofu. Normally not a big fan of tofu, this was very savory though. The bread was hot and fluffy with a thin crust. Plenty of filing without being overstuffed or greasy. Just a very good sub, the best I've had in a while. And cheap too!

Older Vietnamese fellow and his wife were running the show, trying to fulfill a big to-go order as well as half the dining room by themselves. But we're patient and they eventually got caught up. BEST. SANDWICHES. IN. CHARLESTON! Truthfully, do you love a good sandwich? I'm talking incredible fresh baked bread (and I really fresh, as in made in house daily) delightfully seasoned and/or marinated meats, fresh lightly pickled vegetables and ther most delectable sauce you've ever had in your life! All of this for an incredible price! (Like $4-$5.50 per sandwich) If you're going for lunch get there a little before noon because this is an actual mom and pop shop with just the two of them running it. So, the line might take 10 or 15 minutes and peak rush.

I can't believe I waited so long before I left a review. Tony is the man! I've had bahn mi in so many places across the coast, this shop is at the top of my list. Many shops out source their bread but yens doesn't have that luxury since no one else makes bahn mi around the area. Anytime he has bread for sale I buy everything he has on the counter, It's that good. I must admit the place is cute, so it's good for lowkey dates and they have outdoor seating as well. You wouldn't expect there would be a Vietnamese restaurant in this area but lo and behold. This is one of my favorite places to eat. This is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant with great Vietnamese food. They are well known for their Banh Mi (viet sandwiches) but they also serve Pho (noodle dish) on the weekends. Everything is basically home made and its family run so you know the quality is good. Definitely give this place a try if your in the area. Also the owner likes to test out random asian desserts once in a while so theres always something new to try even if your not in the mood for vietnamese.
