Tastings was recommended to us by our venue along with some other caterers. Tastings had the best pricing and meal options by far so we scheduled a private tasting with them. We were so impressed by the food we decided that day to book Tastings for our wedding a year and a half later. We went to one of their group tastings a few months later with our families so they could try the food. The group tastings are held at a local venue and are attended by a bunch of tastings couples getting married around the same time. You get to try 3 fish, beef, and chicken entrees as well as some vegetarian options, lots of salads, appetizers and desserts, cake flavors, and other snacks like their bacon maple popcorn. Our family had a great time and took home tons of leftovers. When our wedding rolled around inflation had hit both us and Tastings hard and Sue and Eileen were great with helping us understand pricing changes and working to get the best possible value without sacrificing our entree choices. On the wedding day Sue made sure my husband and I were taken care of with cocktails and appetizers as soon as the ceremony was over. We made sure to actually sit and eat on our wedding day and everything was delicious. Our guests debated what our best appetizer was passionately, and a few people told us the bacon wrapped scallops were the best they've ever had. If you're getting married in the fall I cannot recommend the butternut squash ravioli as a vegetarian entree, it was one of the best pastas I've ever tried. We really enjoyed working with Tastings.

We had an AMAZING experience with Tastings Catering. Sue the owner, Mat our banquet manager, and all of the rest of their staff were friendly, kind, attentive, and went above and beyond for our micro-wedding 2 months ago. Since we had a small COVID wedding, food was the main focal point of the affair, and Sue was able to take the difficult guidelines we gave her (a menu that celebrated our mixed Chinese/Haitian/Dominican backgrounds and had a homey/down to earth feel) and came up with an outstanding menu to fit this perfectly. She was understanding and sensitive about adjusting the menu to fit our budget, and she kindly gave us a very thorough tasting and made adjustments based on our feedback. She also offered to let us borrow numerous candles and decorations free of charge, which saved us an enormous amount of money and waste, which was ideal for us since we were trying to be as sustainable as possible. The day of our wedding, the Tastings staff did an impeccable job of setting up everything like we planned, the decorations they provided were gorgeous, everything was done exactly as planned and on time, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was very thoughtful about making sure that my husband and I were fed. They made sure to set aside food for us during the cocktail hour, which we mostly missed due to photography time. We received a lot of compliments on the food from our guests: my Haitian father-in-law was impressed by the Haitian meatballs, which is NOT something most American catering companies can easily do, and the jerk chicken was rated as "authentic" by our Caribbean guests. Months later, I still have dreams about the gorgeous and tasty holiday-themed cookies Sue baked for us: my husband has promised me that we will buy cookies from Tastings again the next time we are in Massachusetts again. In short, we can't recommend Tastings enough for your wedding celebration: they were a key part of making our wedding a success. We hope to use them again for a larger anniversary party, whenever the pandemic is over.

Tastings was great! We had so much fun attending their group tasting events leading up to our big day. Our wedding was perfect. Tastings handled all the set up, food, and bar service. We had so many compliments on how good the food was! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I cant say enough good things about this company! Not only was the food great but Sue and the rest of her family/staff were so awesome!!!! The whole process was so incredible! They’re reasonably priced, they even take care of decorating! The food was soooo great that our guests have still been talking to us about it!!! Sue went around making sure that our guests were fed and comfortable! She paid extra special attention to us as well, making sure we were taken care of during our special night! Amanda, Sues daughter was able to help bring our vision to life when we met with her! We feel so lucky to have found these people to be a part of our big day! They are truly kind, caring and the kind of people you want there on your wedding day! They felt like family!

I cannot say enough good things about Tastings Catering. They did my wedding at Lyman Estate in Waltham, MA and were so accommodating to food, decorations, and having to deal with COVID rescheduling! They were a pleasure to work with and are extremely reasonably priced!

Tastings did an amazing job at our daughter's wedding! People are still raving about how imaginative, beautiful and delicious the food was. Guests were graciously treated to summer drinks at the ceremony site outside, which made them feel welcome and set the tone for the wedding. Sue's staff has been with her for many years and it shows. They are totally competent and service-oriented and look genuinely happy. Sue went out of her way to include vegetarian and gluten-free options that delighted our guests. Sue added many free options that made the wedding site a standout, like wrought iron lanterns lining the driveway. She served appetizers and desserts directly to my family, anticipating that we would be too busy welcoming guests to eat. So thoughtful and insightful! We got the sense that we were truly being taken care of. I don't normally care for wedding cakes, but Sue's almond wedding cake was extraordinary and would rival any French bakery's high end cake. Her heavenly French macarrons were astonishingly beautiful and authentic. I would never use another caterer. Sue set the gold standard.

Hands down, Tastings is the best! We were fortunate to work with Tastings for our wedding in September and we were blown away by the professionalism, attention to detail, kindness and delicious food! Everyone works so well together at Tastings and truly treat you as part of their Tastings family. My husband and I were having a hard time deciding upon meals to suit all the dietary restrictions in our group, and tastings helped and was able to create new meals just for us! The food and service was amazing! They really ran the entire night of our wedding and assisted in bringing our vision to light! They are very responsive and easy to communicate and helped us to get everything we wanted and fit within our budget. I would recommend Tastings to anyone looking for a wedding/party caterer and plan to work with them again in the future :)

We have been using Tastings since 1996, when my husband and I got married. They have done numerous events for us, for our children and for our friends. I can't say enough good things about them. Sue is wonderful to work with, very laid back and helps make a stressful event easier, and she is a fabulous baker. John cooks the most amazing food. Matt and Amanda are doing more of the setup these days, and having learned from the best, they are fantastic as well. If you are going to have an event, USE THEM. You won't be disappointed!

I have worked with Tastings for over 10 years, in both a professional and personal capacity. We started working together years ago at a wedding, and wedding after wedding we kept bumping into each other. She was obviously popular! When my son was born in 2010 I contacted Sue about catering his baptism. They did an excellent job! I was so impressed how it was like having family there with me. They kept out of the way, were responsive to requests and when they left, it was like they were never there. They packaged up all the left over food (which was stolen by guests because it was so good!). People loved the food so much, that in 2012 for my daughters Christening, I hired Tastings again, and Matt and Amanda both ran the event. They were great, and I was thrilled to have such a professional team. Matt ran most of my event and he was professional and kind. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and I do. When clients tell me they are going to hire Tastings I can't stop gushing. Sue is amazing, and her desserts are so yummy!

Tastings catered our wedding four years ago this October at the Codman Estate in Lincoln, MA. We had a very tight budget but still wanted a delicious, fun menu available to our guests. Meeting at Sue's house to first discuss options, the menu sampling formal event later on at the Lyman Estate, and the wedding day itself were all dreams. The food is fantastic, so much variety, and they worked with our budget wonderfully. You would never have guessed we aren't millionaires based off how exceptional the food was and the variety of desserts we had. Mini cheesecakes and tres leches cakes in addition to our wedding cake. The quality is incredible at Tastings. And the staff arranged everything so smoothly, the servers were speedy and professional, I recommend Tastings to my friends that get engaged. We were supposed to have the ceremony outside, but due to early morning rain, the ground was too muddy. I never had to worry for a second though, as they had a set of Plans B and C for whatever came up. The ceremony was beautifully set up inside by the staff, and honestly, I've forgotten we ever meant for it to be outside. Everything was so gorgeous. They then seamlessly disassembled the ceremony seating and rearranged for the dance floor, while guests and wedding party went into the big tent for cocktail hour. They are incredibly professional, and I as the bride was never stressed about anything. I felt complete confidence in the caterers and their staff from the day we met Sue at her home. Tastings even helped us find the DJ we hired, as our original plans fell apart last minute and we started to panic. The DJ was professional, energetic, overall beyond amazing, and I thank Tastings for referring us to DJ Red! Thank you for making our wedding day beautiful!

We have had Tastings cater our family events over the past ten years, ranging from our older three childrens' Bat and Bar Mitzvah's, two high school graduation parties, our 20th medical school reunion party at our house, a dinner for my large office in our home, my brother's children's two Bar Mitzvah's, and my cousins and friends events as well. As you can see, we have had Tastings in our lives for many, many years and they have done a fantastic job making the food and environment of our events very special indeed. Sue always meets with families prior to the events and goes over the menu carefully. We also went to one of her tasting afternoons with each of our children and tried out foods for their special event. All of my children looked forward to their turn sampling the choices, giving us the opportunity to try new items to come closer to deciding what would be on our menu. At the events themselves, Sue always had the food beautifully arranged and tastefully presented, labelling the various foods and making the tables look very festive and inviting. At one of my cousin's events, one of her children is lactose intolerant, another has a gluten allergy and the third has a peanut allergy. Despite all the challenges involved in preparing foods without milk, wheat or peanuts, Sue had a wonderful dessert display, labelling each item and giving these children with allergies a chance to enjoy their family celebration! Sue has also been very kind to my family and extended family and friends. She listens to what the customer wants and produces the food that is desired. She uses very fresh produce, seasonal vegetables and fruit and her husband John barbecues and cooks so much of the main dishes right there at the events. The variety of desserts that she prepares is also very impressive and delicious! The staff at Tastings is also extremely polite and thoughtful, working hard to make the events as organized and seamless as possible. We have had or gone to over twenty events catered by Tastings and I always feel very grateful to Sue, John, their two children and the staff for taking their job so seriously and creating such a wonderful catering company.

Sue, Eileen and Marieke were amazing to work with for our wedding at the Lyman Estate in Waltham. The food was phenomenal and the service was on point. We wish they had a restaurant so we could go back and order all of our favorite dishes again! We would not hesitate to have them cater events for us in the future.

Sue and the rest of the Tastings staff were fantastic - I really can't say enough good things about them. Sue is great to work with - she clearly loves making weddings special and people happy, and the food was completely amazing. My husband and I wanted food that would be fun and did Tastings ever make that happen - all the while keeping it from feeling like a backyard BBQ. We had the most amazing mac and cheese spoons even (I've been dreaming about it since) as appetizers (I'm sure there were other things, but after I tried these, I kept following the person holding the mac and cheese tray ....). Dinner was just epic - the best clam chowder (and in a sourdough bread bowl!!! I'm from SF), braised short ribs, and butternut squash ravioli. And the sides were to die for! The vegetables at wedding dinners always underwhelm me (steamed vegetables with no flavor), but nothing dull with Tastings - we had phenomenal roasted fall vegetables, the best collard greens outside of the south, and chimichurri beets. I could, and would, have eaten myself silly given half a chance - sadly, my dress was not stretchy. If your goal is stuffy and unfun, Tastings is not for you, but if you love food and people who are great to work with, I can't recommend them highly enough.
