I don’t leave many reviews but Sparta deserves a good one. This is about our 5th order with them and the pizza is on point! Great crust, sauce, cheese, everything is delicious. One of the best pizzas in Anchorage. Seen bad reviews about the prices and don’t agree. Unless you want some cheap nasty pizza this is about average pricing.

We had been so incredibly busy for the whole month of December. On the evening of December 24, my family exhausted, hungry, and ready to rest. I set to ordering online at Sparta, thankfully they were open. Sparta rescued us that evening by staying open for 15 extra minutes for us to get our order. We hadn’t had pizza for well over 3 weeks. The whole experience was heart warming, belly filling, tasty, and kind. Quyana for a memorable evening.

Awesome!! I love going to this place! The pizza is great, as expected. The prices are decent, people are great, and overall I recommend this place if you’re looking for some Italian! Now they do offer other types of food if you’re not feeling a pizza and that’s a score in my book!

I've been ordering here for years without issue so this review is more in good fun than anything. Ordered a half and half with no cheese on one side, came with cheese. (No big deal, said cheese can be removed. My lady doesn't like cheese on pizza, hence the request. Again, no big deal). Also ordered a "side" of fries. I certainly did NOT expect enough fries to feed a family of 4🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. 5 stars as always. That 5 pounds of fries made my day🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you!

Their website is simple and quick. The cheese pizza is amazing! Apparently they've been here a long time but I never knew it. With the quality of pizza hut down, I've started to try other places. Give Sparta a try, great tasting pizza!

Good local pizza place with a varied menu and online ordering. The wings are flavorful, if on the small side, and the included fries with orders of 10 or 15 is a nice perk. Central location on dimond means you're never far away from a fresh pizza!

Love their pizza always, but was pretty disappointed tonight when my husband ordered a gyro (thinly sliced lamb noted on the menu) but he received large chunks of dried out lamb meat- difficult to eat when huge hunks of meat falling all over the place. The gyro itself didn’t resemble the classic gyro we love... disappointed and will stick to their pizza in the future....

Great pizza, plain and simple the best pizza you can get in Anchorage. Not that extra fancy pizza, this is real pizza. Moosestooth gets all the praise for the best pizza in AK, but Sparta is better.

I miss going here every other day for the veggie gyro. It was the best thing in life while they had it. 😒 TAAAHHHJJIIKIIIII Philly's are bomb especially the bomb, they use real meat not steakums, real cheese not cheese whiz. So if your looking for fake go to Walmart. The chicken strips are spendy but huge so worth it. The pizza Is great and dinners as well as location. Nice ppl, been frequenting for years. Definitely a must try.

I never even knew this place existed because it's in a kinda hard to notice spot, but a friend ordered it one day and I've been hooked ever since. My recent experiences with them have been nothing but great and when I finally went inside I was impressed by how nice it looked despite how small it might seem. The pizza is really good and top quality, and allows for endless combinations along with an easy to use ordering online. Probably one of the biggest advantages of this place though easily is the fact that they not only serve pizza, but they have a huge menu of other foods like Calzones, Salads, and Chicken wings. They're also open pretty late which is awesome. There's no better feeling than getting a Philly Cheese Steak at 11 at night on a Friday.

Good and just simply so so. The main ingredients for three basic pizzas- pepperoni, cheese and the Mama Mia were great along with the sauce. Price was a bit high considering I didn't order the Mama Mia and the dough lacked that love most pizza places tend use to attract people back. Maybe some garlic sauce or butter spread on the outside edge of the crust would've made a huge difference but it was lacking flavor so it was tossed.

It was a busy Friday night and ordering pizza was our best option for dinner. Our son suggested Sparta Pizza so we gave them a call and ordered a pepperoni & olives and one veggie pizza. It was delivered darn fast and both were outstanding pizzas. The ingredients were fresh, cheese too rate, and the crust just right. I think we’ll do this again and real soon.

Love their salads! Their grilled chicken and gyro meat is great and so flavorful. Their Phillies are great too, especially with the fries. Homemade sauces make everything better.

Went to Sparta after the wait for Moose's Tooth was too long, actually ended up loving this place. Great prices, great pizzas (loved the Greek Spinach Pizza). Honestly I was more pleased with the quality of the pizza and the service at Sparta than at Moose's Tooth. Bottom line: Highly recommended.

Sparta is by far one of best pizza places in Anchorage. The Greek items on their menu are the best in town too. Reasonable prices and great friendly service.

Favorite pizza joint in all of Anchorage. Amazing pizza, best Cheesesteaks in town, love the sparta plate as well as their lamb skewers. We order from Sparta on average once a week (between work lunches or delivery at home) and are happy with everything we've had, every time. Great little restaurant!

I love, love, love this pizza. The vegetation is my favorite. Must order Large because leftovers. Tried online ordering for the first time and loved that I could select the toppings on the Greek salad so easily. Also, delivery was so fast - making me extra, extra happy. Normally order Philly sandwiches from Straight out of Philly, but, was convinced to give Sparta a try. Over the phone was good, read my order back because I had to repeat something a few times, so I was pleased they were thorough. The delivery driver however was extremely rude, and when I was trying to verify everything, kept interrupting to say I needed to sign the receipt so he could leave, and I needed to verify or check on my own time. What company asks their customer to sign for something and verify later?

This is by far our favorite pizza place in Anchorage. We love the simple pepperoni pizza but if we aren't feeling pizza then we get a philly sandwich. So good. The wings are awesome as well. And dont even get me started on the Greek salad. LOVE!

Have ordered several times from here, and the food is awesome! They may seem a little expensive, but not when you get SO much food! My wife and I always have multiple meals left over. Pizza rocks, sandwiches rock, calzones are top-notch and packed full. Just recently discovered the chicken strips which are a GREAT change if you want something different. Even better, they are on GrubHub which makes ordering a breeze when you dont want to pick up the phone. A true gem to Anchorage.

Sparta Pizza is one of my top 3 pizza joints in the city, and the best pizza on the South side. If you're a pizza purist, this is a good eat. Their Greek food is also excellent, and worth a try.

Pizza is very good. I have had trouble several times when ordering online. When I go to pick up the order they don't have it and have to make it causing me to have to wait approximately 20 minutes at the location while they make up for their error. Not very apologetic either.

Outstanding. Have driven past this place several times and wondered how was the food. We ordered for delivery 2 warrior calzones. Fast delivery. Delicious HUGE calzones full of meat and cheese and flavor! Glad we called them instead of a big chain. Local and fantastic. I will order again.

It's really good food but they like to wait to see if you have an order in the same area... So it'll take about an hour and a half to two hours to get the food and that's just outrageous especially being only 9 minutes away from me it's even worse if you call an hour and a half before closing time because they will literally wait untill closing time to deliver your food.

Pizza was good and reasonably priced but I was very disappointed in the cheese bread. It was just store bought cheap garlic bread, cut up and topped with mozzarella. I wasn't expecting a local pizza place with great reviews to rake the easy way out.

July 26 2019: had family surprise me with a calzone from guess where. I am told it is the Sparta. Suffice to say, for brevity, everything below holds. I don't think i will ever accept a calzone from anywhere else. Feb 2019: I have been wanting to try this place since i saw them set up on Dimond and old Seward. Holy cows and nails i put it off too long. I need to kiss the chef. First of all, food arrived 30 minutes earlier than quoted. Caught me off guard. Not bad. Second, they know how a calzone should be. Period. It was warm, the bread was soft and delicious. It was also not comprised entirely of bread. I would have posted a picture, but i ignored their warning of included cutlery and went in unarmed. There was no going back. I promise it was mostly fillings and not junky fillings. I'm filled up with food i could taste and enjoyed. There were more than 2 eyes on my food, so setting it down was out of the question. It was not soggy, it was scoured and sealed properly. This is the first time in my life i have truly eaten a calzone. I know what a calzone should be and i am doomed with this dark blessing. I have been conquered by Sparta.

Simply the best pizza in AK. This may be why it's a little expensive and the staff is a little short. The dine in area is small and stuffy, so it's not a date night kind of place. But the pizza is easily the best pizza I've had since moving to AK. Don't listen to the haters, this place rocks.

I absolutely loved my calzone. However, I am not a picky eater by any stretch of the imagination. My girlfriend, on the other hand, is. She ordered the Greek salad and was upset that it came with pepperoni and salami. Still a good place to get a Calzone... probably pizza too.

Got a gyro & a Philly Bomb, to go, pretty good gyro, lots of meat! The Philly was huge, definitely worth the $12! Fries were a little under-cooked.
