The Elevator and Airplane Finder

Strolling through Downtown Anchorage on a gloomy Saturday morning and we stumbled upon the Sandwich Deck. We decided to stop for breakfast. Walking in, they were relatively busy but seemed to be getting orders out well. The guy who took our order was very friendly. I ordered the French Toast with eggs & bacon and my sister got the Sausage Muffin breakfast sandwich. Everything was super tasty! The French toast was super good and I also tried the sandwich, it was great too! Overall, if you’re in need of a quick breakfast while in Downtown Anchorage, Sandwich Deck is one I’d recommend!

Diner style eating with really quick fresh service. Got the breakfast burrito with reindeer sausage and my husband got the Alaskan omelette. Both are very tasty and filling. Thumbs up to the chef. Thanks guys!!

We walked in 5 minutes after close because we didn’t look up the hours and they still served us and were super friendly. The food was so good and completely worth the price. The staff were incredibly friendly and I would 100% recommend this place. If I’m ever in Anchorage again I will be going back to here.

Came at closing time. Ordered Thai Chicken bowl soup. It was great and spicy. But not that spicy you needed a gallon of water, to quench your tongue that it was on fire. Stop by to refuel your body. Varity of meals to order on the chouck board.

The restaurant is strategically and very well placed in this downtown region off of K Street and 4th. The staff is very welcoming as soon as you walk through the door somebody greets you. My overall experience with this Diner was excellent. I ordered the number one off of their menu which came with two eggs, two slices of toast, hash browns and your choice of meat, which I chose to have the reindeer and I had never had before and my opinion is that it was very tasty and I enjoyed it. The environment was very nice they were playing music, the decoration and overall theme of the restaurant was very well. So, the overall satisfaction of the my time there was a 5 star. I recommend it to anybody who's wanting not a very large portion of food but enough to fill your stomach at a decently reasonable price for what I have seen thus far here in Alaska.

One of the things I truly miss about working downtown is stopping in to “the deck” for a good sandwich for lunch. I enjoyed Shane’s upbeat but not over the top attitude and the food was always good. I will make it a point to come in on the weekends during the summer to show this place some love! The pricing is decent and ingredients are good quality. The Restaurant is clean and the employees are quick.

Came in around 1 for lunch on a Friday, didn't seem to busy. I got the Turkey Bacon and Ranch wrap, which was good. For my side I went with potato salad, which was a great choice. Service was very friendly, and quick. I'll definitely come back to try other sandwiches.

Solid bacon cheeseburger experience. Love that they overcook the fries without me having to ask! Fresh salad, in house ranch seems kinda pickley.. not a fan. But all in all, super good - will be back another day!

Great sandwich place. Had soup/sandwich combo..the special of the day. Fresh and tasty for a good, reasonable price (~$11). Order at the kitchen window. Business/office workers eating here, not just tourists tells me it's consistently good value. Not a lot of tables/seats so grab them when you see them.

Wonderful service, great food! We arrived here with two hungry toddlers! The staff was amazing! They answered all of our questions with patience, they helped my friend choose her meal and provided alternatives for me when I asked for a sandwich they did not have. The enchiladas were great and my grilled halibut sandwich was so yummy! The tarter sauce was so good and full of dill! These guys were so attentive, they noticed our hungry babies and handed them a bag of oyster crackers while we waited for our meals, which arrived quickly. They checked in on us and passed by with smiles and good vibes. We will be returning without a doubt. I live a few minutes walk from this place, it's so nice to know that I've found a neighborhood gem! My only wish is that they were open a little later.

This place is a small Cafe/diner not far from the Captain Cook hotel. It's a fairly unassuming place to look at, but the for it excellent. Very traditional dinner food. I had the Alaska omelet with reindeer sausage, green peppers, onions and mushrooms. The hash browns are actually home fries, but they are perfect. Definitely recommend!

Good food... Would love to give it five stars, but haven't tried all of their newer menu. It's not quite the same place as what I grew up with, but the owner is quick with a smile and checks on how we are doing. The downtown location is great.

Fantastic, quick service. Great for a tasty, fast lunch downtown. The food is good, quality food but not anything unique. Prices are high-ish for some, but easily comparable to other similar restaurants downtown. The service has never been anything less than exemplary. Overall, well worth a stop if you're looking for lunch downtown. The soups are particularly fantastic. Give them a try.

Excellent food, excellent service, top notch vibe! If you like breakfast and coffee this is the place to go in Anchorage. We ate their every morning once we discovered them. We had an early excursion scheduled and needed a boxed breakfast and coffee by 6:30 am, either the owner or employee literally gave me their cell phone number and went in at the crack of dawn just to prepare our breakfast burritos (which were awesome btw). He really hooked us up that morning. Thank you very much my friend.

The sandwich’s are a bit overpriced for the quality. Expect to pay 15-20 dollars a person. The Rueben I got was edible, but did lack on flavor. The onion rings were fried in old oil that needs to be changed. The cashier was not very friendly and inpatient with a new customer. During my meal the smell of marijuana made wonder what was happening in the back…

The sandwich deck is under new ownership and I have to say they are doing a great job I ain't got a breakfast there the other day that was spectacular very very friendly service very good strong cup of coffee the only thing I would suggest is that they were open more often it seems the hours vary and I seem to be in the wrong spot at the wrong time

Best service I've had in Anchorage. Food was fast, employees were friendly, and the food was great. My kids were a little ansy when we sat at our table, so our server brought a packet of crackers because "it makes noise and is edible". Would definitely recommend and return.

Great breakfast and lunch experience. The owner will likely take your order. Why wait in line for the nearby tourist breakfast spot? Stop here. Could use a better name! There's a red Sandwich Deck sign on the south end of the building, but the business is on the north end.

My first breakfast experience in Anchorage. I saw this place on my way to the cafe down the street and figured I'd give it a try as the line for the other cafe was out the door. This place is awesome!!! I got an awesome meal with two huge perfectly cooked pancakes, two delicious eggs and lots of meat. Everything on the plate was delicious, even the orange on the side. Perfectly ripe and juicy. Compliments to the chef and the cooks, they did awesome on my meal today. As well as the hospitable servers and cashier up front. I cant recommend this place enough. Service was super fast and you get an awesome meal without the stress or the commitment of a full sit-down restaurant. If I'm ever back in Anchorage, this is my go to breakfast spot.

Excellent restaurant, great idea with the order window and paying before. Sometimes waiters take forever to come back with a check or take your order, this place eliminates that but still has sit down feels. Excellent food. The potatoes are seasoned perfectly and the toast was perfect and chewy. Great spot that we will definitely come back to.

Nothing fancy or unique. It is small but clean. The service was friendly. Took awhile to get our food. Omelettes were good. Portions were reasonable. A bit pricey for a little shop but maybe that’s normal in Anchorage. Ultimate omelet was real good. All in all we were happy and would recommend to others.

Food was above average based on my first experience. I will need to go back later to try more. I initially tried to order the halibut burger, but for some unspecified reason they were out and had to settle for a grilled halibut sandwich. I went during lunch, somehow beat the rush after fighting for parking, but still had to wait 40 minutes for two sandwiches, one of which was a standard ham, cheese, and lettuce that could have been made easily at home. The grilled halibut sandwich that was for me, was still delicious, with good amounts of charring...I wonder how much different it would have been from the blackened version of the sandwich. Seating is minimal and cramped inside, but there are a few tables outside to sit at. Food can also be delivered via the On the Menu/Orange Crate app as of right now.
