This place is fantastic. Their torpedo pastrami sandwiches are always perfect and add their homemade chips and you have a combo you can't beat. The employees and owners always make you feel welcome. I highly recommend this local business. .

Honestly one of the best subs in town, I get the turkey torpedo everything on it. I have been coming here since I was a child almost 40 years ago, haven't been back for over 20 years and I'm so glad I came back in. Ice cream to boot. I'm glad you guys made it through the rough times. Thank for the great service and great food.

I had the half chicken sub (fajita style) add grilled onions and jalapeños, medium fry, and unsweetened iced tea. Everything turned out well. I just moved to the area and I will make this a regular eating spot. The bread was really soft compared to many popular sub places. The recipe and quantity combined well together. I look forward to trying more menu items. The atmosphere is great too!

So coming from back east where sub places are everywhere and of all varieties, I decided to try the Yeller Sub in Albuqurque. I got a pastrami torpedo because well you can't find pastrami everywhere. Overall the torpedo was a 7 out of 10, the pastrami being the savior of the sandwich, but the overall other toppings were just mediocre, but the bread was fresh and held together. Fries were simple and crispy. The best part was the service very friendly and willing to help you, overall not to bad. Thank you!

Was looking for something new and after seeing other reviews, we decided to give The Yeller Sub a try. I’m glad we did. Spouse got the Roast Beef Torpedo and I got the Steak and Grilled Onions with fries. The steak was tasty and the bread was so soft. Fries were good as well. Spouse loved the roast beef. The woman who took our order was nice as was the older gentleman. We will definitely be back.

My partner asked if sandwiches sounded good so I looked up this place. I'm glad we came here! Service was amazing, everyone was so kind! Old fashioned sub sandwiches and fresh made criss cut fries. Everything made just the way you want. Probably had the same atmosphere when it opened in 1979. I will definitely be back again and will be recommending them to others.

I've enjoyed this wonderful restaurant since I was a kid in the eighties. I have no idea how many times I've eaten a Yeller Sub and every one has been delicious. I've never had a bad customer experience, and that's saying a lot for a place I've been going to for 40+ years. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Crispy fresh cut fries a sandwich that reminds you of grandmas love. You can tell this torpedo is made with that same great care and love. You normally find Mark (owner) and Rosie running feeling those around them with a full belly and their smiling faces. First timer here and I’ve got to say this place is excellent! I got the “Super Yeller Torpedo” and my wife got the “Roast Beef Torpedo” both sandwiches were huge and were VERY delicious! I’m used to the whole subway concept so it was new for the both of us but the friendly gentleman helped us out and explained their concept. The customer service was excellent! I highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates a good ol’ Sub Sandwich. We’ve yet to try the other food options, for sure won’t be the last time we come back!

This is definitely one of the best deli's in Albuquerque. We have been going to the Yeller sub since the 80's. It's always a treat and always fun to go to Yeller sub. The atmosphere is always nice and the customer service is always good. Subs and the Torpedoes are just delicious. You can get them however you want them. Their meat is always good quality and great tasting. There is one thing that has changed since the 80's. The lettuce has changed. Too many fast food joints and wonderful restaurants have changed to bagged lettuce instead of fresh lettuce. Bagged lettuce is definitely not fresh. It has a different texture, smell, and flavor. Not everyone agrees with me on this. It just ruins the flavor of a delicious sandwich. I do wish the Yeller sub never changed from fresh lettuce too bagged lettuce. We've always enjoyed the Yeller sub and always will. We will definitely continue going back. It is a great Landmark Eatery from our history. We recommend Yeller sub to anyone.

Great subs and ice cream. All the staff are helpful and have great attitudes. It's a mom and pop shop(owner operator) and you can tell the difference in the quality of food. Try the potato salad, macaroni salad, and any of the torpedos.

One of the best sandwich places in my opinion and I truly do go to alot of places of the sort. I will be honest when I say you get what you pay for even when it is on the steeper side price wise. Worth it if you want a good, fresh bread with fresh ingredients, and we'll sized meal.

Food was ok. Nothing super spectacular! I got the 7in steak torpedo. Meat had no flavor. I also got a medium order of fries. No salt on them. Glad I grabbed salt before I left. Everything was cold by the time I got home. It’s only a 5 minute drive back to my place. I was excited to try this place after reading some reviews. I should have kept reading because after a while a lot of people mentioned flavorless meat. And that’s what I got.

First time here, I could say I'm very happy with their customer service. I forgot the lady name, I wish I could've wrote it down but she was very nice. I made a big order and she made sure she put everything in a box for me to carry it to my vehicle. It was so much easier than going back and fourth. Food is on point!

This place is an Albuquerque icon. Funky, cool vibe. Ice cream by the scoop. But oh my goodness! The subs and torpedoes are you die for. Always fresh, perfect texture bread, crisp veggies, top quality meats and cheeses. The criss cut fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Fantastic!

It's been there forever, family run joint serving up subs with the best ingredients and options of different styles of fries, onion rings, chips. Today I got the Poseidon sub with provolone, grilled mushrooms, yummm delicious. Also tried out a new offering, thin-cut fries. They were good, kind of a cross between fries and potato chips. I hadn't been to this place for over a decade,and I feel a deep sense of regret that I've missed out on this sub for so long.

My first visit I got the pastrami torpedoe Amd it was good. Today I went back Amd said yes to heating it. I don’t know if they heat it in a microwave or if it was wrapped in foil 10 minutes before I ate it but the bread was fresh first visit, heated it was a little tough and chewy. Great sandwiches! One of the few places you can get a great sub and also get French fries! Can't beat that combo! Been around forever and the quality has always been consistent. The subs are large and they don't skimp on you! You can also get a shake with your sub and fries if you want to live on the wild side! Try to find that anywhere else! Prompt service. With all the meats and cheeses they serve, one wonders why they don't have a Philly Cheesesteak. They've got roast beef and steak so why not add a Philly to the menu? Other than that, always fast and friendly service and good food. Try their malt shake.

First time visiting! Was very impressed with the level of service that I received from the workers! I was ordering with someone else and they were more than happy to separate our to-go orders in different bags for us. When I got home the order was flawless; no mistakes were made in my order at all. I got chips and a tuna torpedo. The chips were fantastic, much better than any french fry could be! They were crunchy but not over done and just salty enough to be yummy. My tuna torpedo was likewise delicious. I'm a fan of tuna fish sandwiches and by far they have the best tasting tuna I've had in awhile. No cranberries, no walnuts, no weird stuff; just a very good very delicious and basic tuna mayo salad with all the basic fixings. It didn't have too much mayonnaise, as I find Subway's tuna fish sandwiches to have (plus Subway's tuna salad is very, painfully plain). With some lettuce, tomatoes and provolone cheese, my tuna torpedo was definitely a solid tuna sandwich. The tuna also didn't drip a lot, which was great because it made for clean eating! The prices for the food was quite reasonable, especially for the sandwiches, which are nice and big when you get a half. Over all I was greatly impressed with the service, the quality of food and the prices of Yeller Sub. 10 out of 10, will definitely be eating there again when I get the chance to again. Because I've found out that there's an amazing alternative to Subway right in my neighborhood.

All the ingrediants taste fresh and sometimes you can smell their freshly made bread throughout the restaurant. This is my all time favorite sub place! The bread is amazing... The meats are freshly sliced... And their waffle cut fries with cheese sauce ice the cake! The owner is a VERY nice and humble guy who always makes it a point to talk to you. He's also VERY active in the community which is awesome. Their ice cream selection is great also... One of the best places for subs i’ve had ever. You can’t go wrong with any sub and an extra side of italian. The soft breads also are so cheap that it’s hard not to take a few home. Along with my subs, there is no way you can’t get the waffle fries and cheese sauce. I absolutely love this place. The menu is vast and you can request ANYTHING you want. I personally love their hamburger torpedo with green chili on it and a side of fries. The staff are friendly and always ask if you're enjoying your meal. Free refills on your drink. The place is beautifully decorated with their accomplishments and praises. It's also very inexpensive, 4 bucks for a six inch sandwich. They have been in business for over 30 years so they must be doing something right! If you are looking for a place to have a >fresh< meal you should check it out.

The service here is beyond friendly; like the good old days when owners and cashiers valued their customers. Even though its "fast food" type of restaurant, they deliver your order to your table after ordering at the counter and even come and check on you, making sure the food is to your liking. They have a great frequent sandwich card, and are very generous, counting a kids meal towards your goal (often). A great gem in Albuquerque (and the food is absolutely delicious! - Try the Poseidon, you won't regret it!)

The meats and dressings are fantastic and they have a great menu selection. But man do they miss the boat with their buns! The subs were awesome, 2nd visit. Wanted to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke. I had the steak and onion 12' sub, One of the best ever. My sister has been eating at the yeller sub since 1979. And when she visits from out of town, this is her first stop. Steve who made my sub did great, Sam who took my order was all about customer service even though I made him nervous, he was great! And the Manager Dave did a great job.......He remembered me from My first visit 8 months earlier. Do yourself a favor and ask about the difference between the sub and torpedo. You will not be disappointed and they are happy to let you know. 5 stars in my book

Wow what great customer service. We ordered some subs and when we got back to the office we noticed one was not correctly made. We called Yeller Sub to let them know of the error and the Manager not only was apologetic, but delivered a sandwich directly to me. He even added the potato chips. I may have found the best subs in Albuquerque. A delicious variety of subs and torpedo sandwiches served hot or cold. The bread is fresh and you can also get salads and sides as well as freshly prepared chips, fries and onion rings. Yeller Sub is the Sub shop that everyone should know about and few do. It's the hidden gem of deliciousness that's been around forever. Yeller Sub has a wealth of sub sandwich options catering to preferences of hot or cold, optioning any cheese, local green Chile, fresh cooked bread, fries and even a variety of dessert options (shakes, malts and floats). If delicious, local food isn't enough to pull you from another sandwich shop the friendly staff who are likely to remember your name after a visit or two just might be a swaying point. The entire staff here is beyond friendly and have been on every visit throughout the multiple years I've eaten here.

I have been to Yeller Sub twice now. We bring in our 18 month daughter, each time, they have offered to give her a bowl of cut cheese and meat for her to eat, I am not sure they do this for everyone, but I think they do. They are always happy that we are there and we feel like we are valued when we go. The sandwiches are very good, easily beating out subway by a 1000 miles. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Always a pleasure whenever I come in. One of the best sub shops in Albuquerque. I have been coming here since I was old enough to drive and will continue to come here as long as it is open. Keep in mind that this restaurant makes such good food that I am willing to drive from the back of Rio Rancho to Louisiana and montgommery to get a sandwich. Did I mention they have ice cream too? An Abq classic. If you've never tried here then definitely do. IMO it's the best Cheese Steak sandwich in town. Also an excellent place to get a hand scooped ice cream cone. -update- I always get the cheese steak but went with the meatball sub and wow. It simply taste like a homemade sandwich the way it should. Mmmm

Nice to have so many options to choose from and this is one of those places. A good place for lunch or dinner. I Don't like sub or sandwich shops that serve a huge bread with nothing inside, so far I didn't see that here. Good Job

Gave this business a try because it agreed to participate in NM PBS member card benefits program. I had the On-Deck Torpedo with some provolone cheese. The sandwich was good but a mite dry-It could have used a bit more Italian dressing. My husband was pleased with his Steak Torpedo with green chiles and Swiss cheese. We will likely try this business again sometime when we have room to try some of the Dreyer's ice cream that they also serve.
