Craftsman Supply is an established resource for specific wood products that are not available at box stores. The owner "Allen" was extremely helpful. Plus, their prices are reasonable on hard to find hardwoods and softwoods.

I moved to Central Florida from the Pacific Northwest a few months ago. I was really afraid I wouldn't be able to find anywhere that could replace the great hardwood suppliers I had to choose from there. I was so happy when I walked into Craftsmen today to find a friendly guy working the desk and a nice selection of not just rough cut lumber, but plenty of ply, s4s and all sorts of odds and ends. Something that really appealed to me, and I think a lot of other less experienced woodworkers, is the selection of boards of every species that they sell in small quantities and priced individually (like the 'hobby boards' they sell at the big box stores, except they aren't all red oak or poplar and they're priced fairly). We don't all have the ability to joint, plane and resaw our stock, so it's nice to be able to get a little of this and a little of that without paying an arm and a leg. For new woodworkers, it can be really intimidating walking into a hardwood dealer for the first time, so it's really nice to have friendly staff that doesn't make you feel stupid when you walk through the door. Can't wait to get my shop set up so I can come back.

Awesome employee's. And great wood. They know there stuff. I drive 1 hour one way just to get my wood. Since I build bass guitars c I need a wide variety of woods. I highly recommend them. Woods from there store.

These guys are absolutely amazing. First of all the selection at the shop is always great. They have maintained their prices very well during the hike in wood prices.. I don’t know how they have pulled that off. Their customer service is too notch and they are always willing to help people out.

I visited CRAFTSMAN SUPPLY for the first time at the Ybor City location. Their selection of hardwoods, both exotic & domestic was amazing. Plenty of products for custom finishes and just about any of your needs for your shop, they've got you covered. Gabriel was awesome and prices were much better than Rockler and others. I brought home a truckload of new projects and I will be back.

Just had my first shopping experience here and was blown away at how wonderful of a shop this is!! Their prices for wood and selection are amazing!!! I couldn't get what they have in stock where I come from and if I could get it special order I would pay 10 times more. Customer service was amazing! The guy at the desk helped me out getting what I needed. I was very impressed on how he spent time with the customer before me and giving him the advice on how to work on his project. This is a top notch shop and I am going back for sure!

To be fair, they were still in the transition (1 week) from their old place to their new place. Not a lot was set up or on the shelves. If you’re looking for exotic woods, and you’re in the Tampa area, Craftsmen Supply would be a great place to start. Extremely friendly and helpful. Beware, not a lot of area to park your vehicle.

First of all, it's awesome that a place like this still exists. Massive selection of really neat varieties of lumber and veneer and supplies, locally owned, etc. It's a great place to just go poke around in if you're a wood worker. That said, my experience here was not 100% positive. When I first went in to order some custom cut wood the guy that helped me out was very helpful and friendly. Helped me pick out some stock and gave me a rough price. When I went to pick up my order there was another man working the counter (younger than the first guy). One of the pieces of lumber I'd ordered was the right dimension, but it had a giant hole down the middle and out one side, making about half of the piece completely useless. First, I was shocked that they would even think about selling this to a customer. Why not just cut another piece? When I asked about only paying for the usable length, the guy seemed annoyed and says "Well just so you know, we don't get a break on this..." like it was my fault their supplier sold them lumber with a void in it? And I had to haggle with him to reduce the price. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. All that said, though, I will definitely be going back here for supplies for my next project. I don't think there's another place in the Tampa area that does what they do. Really cool place.

Good selection of wood! From local to exotics. I grabbed a decent sized piece of Lacewood. They have locals like Cyprus and cedar to lovly pieces of walnut and Ebony. They have a number 9f slabs from small to large. Their dry goods selection is nice with all the blades, hinges, chisels, and finishing materials that you could need. If your in the trade or just do woodworking for a hobby, stop by and give it a go.

I went here for the first time today. After being frustrated with the lack of selection at Home Depot I decided to see if there was a place close by where I could touch the wood and pick out what I wanted. Once I got in the store my mind was racing with ideas of what I wanted make. The staff was incredibly helpful. He helped me find the exact pieces of dark walnut and curly maple I needed. I even found a chunk of purple heart with great grain! The prices are good and they have everything you will need to build anything you can imagine! They also had some nice pieces of exotic tone woods for building guitars. (wenge, ebony, birdseye maple to name a few). I recently paid a vist to Craftsman Supply for the first time, I didnt have anything on my list that i needed just wanted to check the store out and see what all they kept in stock. Craftsmen Supply is a store a woodworker can get lost in for hours and the service is top notch I noticed a product that i wanted which they were out of in front so the salesman went in the back and came out with more than enough material than what i needed for a fair price, Nothing against Wood Craft but Craftsmen Supply is my new store.
