Not only was I in from out-of-town, but this was my first time visiting Bachman Subaru.
I needed an oil change and called the dealership a couple days prior to my visit, to schedule the service. Kim, one of the Service Advisors at the dealership took my call. She was super kind and helpful. She explained that they currently did not have any appointments available for the day that I needed, but that the dealership offered an Express Service option, which did not require an appointment for certain minor services, including an oil change. In addition to this great news, she gave me the phone number to the Service Advisor (Brian) who oversees Express Service and encouraged me to call a few hours prior to my visit, to check on the wait time.
On the day of my service, I forgot to call ahead, due to the busyness of my day, but it was not an issue. When I arrived, as instructed, I simply pulled into the service drive of the dealership. In no time, Brian was helping me with my car. He explained that in addition to the oil change, the dealership would conduct a complimentary inspection of the vehicle. I thanked him and he escorted me over to the customer lounge, where I waited while my car was serviced.
Just a short time later, Brian came over to me in the customer lounge and explained how the battery in my car did not pass inspection. I had no idea that the battery in my car was bad. I thanked him for this discovery and had the dealership replace the battery. And just a short time after that, I was back on the road, with a fresh oil change and a new battery.
I was incredibly impressed with the quality of service that I got at Bachman Subaru. Both Brian and Kim were kind, professional, and super helpful. In addition, the mechanic who worked on my car also did great work! If you need service for your Subaru, this is the place to go in Louisville and be sure to ask for either Brian or Kim!!

I purchased my Outback from this same dealership 3 years ago and then had to leave the state during the COVID-19 pandemic. Austin TX Subaru was amazing and I was afraid of how Louisville would compare.
They scheduled my appt at my earliest convenience, provided me a reminder text, and rapid correspondence. I was also provided with a loaner and processed smoothly from start to finish.
I live an hour away, but will most definitely return for future visits. I highly recommend anyone in the Louisville and surrounding areas to utilize this location.

Excellent! Fast, kind & courteous! Nick processed my choice of services & when my car was finished he reviewed the bill with me, took my payment & escorted me to my car. There was a glitch with the credit card machine & payment was not processed. He called me & left a VM asking me to return or call with payment. I didn’t get the message until several hours later (because of work) so I returned a message after closing that evening. I returned to the service center the following morning to “settle up”. Because I'll be driving to D.C. from Louisville, KY for Thanksgiving, I wanted to make certain my car's fluids and tires were up to the task, But, my 18,000 mile service was scheduled for mid December. Roy at Bachman recommended I come in for their Express Service. So, I did and got lucky because he said they could do the full service if I had an hour. So, that's just what I did. To say that they are VERY ACCOMMODATING at Bachman is an UNDERSTATEMENT! If Roy and Brian are reading this, all I can say is THANK YOU & Happy Thanksgiving!

Finance managers leave a little to be desired. Kinda pushy when selling their extended warranty. Didn't purchase it. This is our third Subaru we purchased from them. The service members and managers are all pleasant people. However the express service is not what I'd call express. After scheduling an oil change for the morning, I was assured no one was ahead of me, yet the oil change with their "express" service took 50 minutes.
If I knew this, I would have changed my own oil in 15 minutes and not wasted my time at the dealership.

Excellent car buying experience, and I am all around impressed by bachman and particularly my sales staff, Nancy.
First, I negotiated down on a vehicle, turns out it was out of stock. I could have waited for it to be delivered, but instead I got the premium version with even more off. I did this all via text before even getting to the dealership.
Second, I told them I needed a certain amount on my trade in for the down payment. My trade wasn't worth that much, but they got me an offer for 1000 more than any other dealership in town.
Third, I told the sales staff I was in a hurry (I know how dealerships go, they keep you there for 6 hours to exhaust you and feel like you've invested too much time to walk away from the deal), and they expedited the process. Like really expedited it. I was never sitting around waiting. The finance fellow (Brian I think, big beard very friendly) sped read through all of the warranties, and did a good pitch in record time (I opted for no extended warranty and he didn't push it). I was in and out in 3 hours, most of that being the test drive and credit check.
Overall I would highly advise using bachman for anything. They were great about communicating and not being too pushy on anything. They didn't spam me with calls, didn't send template emails, and didn't push me to get anything I didn't want. I got a great price on a great car (Subaru Forester). And Nancy was extremely knowledgeable about the car, she knew all the features, all the specs, and had really done her research on some of my biggest concerns, like the CVT, the AWD, and the seeming lack of hp (it drives great and peppy, especially for a 2.5L on an SUV).
I used their website and did the truecar estimate for my trade and they called me one time to discuss their inventory.

We took our 2021 Outback Touring XT in for express service and tire rotation. We were greeted by Tony in the service drive who took our information and had a smile on his face the whole time. The service was performed quickly and we were very pleasantly surprised by the cost of the service. The whole process was seamless. When we picked up the car, Kim explained all charges and was able to set up our next appointment to have a door ding removed and address a random audio issue that had happened twice during our ownership. I can’t stress enough just how nice this whole experience was. My parents had purchased a car from the dealership a few years back, so I felt pretty good about returning to purchase my first car. When we walked in and Darren introduced himself, he remembered my mom by name from those years ago and that really set the tone for us. He was incredibly helpful, very knowledgeable, not pushy which I appreciated, and made me feel at ease in making a good purchase. I had a wonderful experience at Bachman Subaru. To get the car I wanted I had to drive 2+ hrs to Louisville to get it. I called the dealership about thirty minutes before I arrived and when I got there they had washed it and got it ready to go and we hadn’t even talked price yet lol. My salesman Ashton seemed new to sales but made me and my wife very comfortable with the whole process and was very easy to deal with. All in all I can’t say anything bad about my experience.

I recently purchased a car from Debbie over at Bachman Subaru and it was a great experience. Normally I avoid car dealerships because of high pressure sales tactics but that is not how Debbie operates. She listened to exactly what I was looking for, helped me weigh the pros and cons, and figured out how to get exactly the car I wanted. She didn’t try to up sell me anything I didn’t need. In fact, it was over 6 months from when I first visited to when I finally decided to go with a Subaru. Over that time, she periodically checked in to see what I was thinking but generally left it up to me to drive the process. It was a very different (and much more positive) experience compared to most car sales people. I would highly recommend heading over to see her if you are in the market for a Subaru!

Dropped my car off for 120,000 mile service. Left with some new buzzing and vibrating noises under the hood. Thought they had broken my splash guard so I replaced it. Buzzing persisted (unchanged) and it turns out the front motor mount was completely loose.
Will not return for service here in the future. Went to the dealer expecting perfection and paid for it, didn’t get it. That said, scheduling was easy and their team is very communicative when contacted.

I bought my used Subaru through another Subaru dealership and had a great experience, however, dealing with the service department was a different story. I’ve been having oil consumption issues since I bought it and it turned out to be a common issue for the year my Subaru was made. Anyways, it came down to an oil consumption test to prove the issue was happening in order to have my part replaced.
After 2-4 oil consumption tests with the other dealership, they kept saying we passed the test and there was no issue. Obviously, that wasn’t the case as you can tell by the amount of oil consumption tests we went through. They said we have to drive the vehicle 1,200 miles and then they’ll test it then, however, we were having this issue at 3,000 mile mark. Finally frustrated with this dealership, we decided to try Bachman and it’s been a world of a difference.
They were completely understanding about our situation, sympathetic to our frustrations, and even went above and beyond to provide information about the oil consumption test that the other dealer failed to inform us about (like there’s a certain equation they have to figure out how much oil there should be, no matter how many miles were driven— I hope that made sense as I’m a woman and my knowledge of cars is decent but not advanced in anyway!).
They told us to bring the car in immediately when the oil light comes on, instead of the 1,200 miles we’ve been told numerous times and with only ONE oil consumption test performed we have a resolution! They’ve been very thorough with everything as this is a complicated problem, bought the part (which arrived really quickly) and now have an appointment set up to finish the task at hand. And they are giving me a loaner car. Needless to say, my husband and I extremely please with how this dealership and service department have treated us and I truly do think they have the customers’ concerns in their best interests.

I, like so many others have been adversely effected during this COVID 19 crisis. As a result, I have been laid off from my teaching position at a local university. To add to my difficulties, my car was stolen and I desperately needed transportation. In addition I recently purchased a home and have been at my new residence for less than a year.

1. This was the best experience I have ever had with a car dealer service department. Thank you Kim for your honest and courteous service! One of our tires hit a curb and was irreparable. In similar situations I was told to purchase 4 new tires (4 wheel drive), but Kim ordered me a tire with some wear to match the tread of the other tires. I don't think I could have gotten service this good at any tire store or dealership.

The Service team was so kind and understanding when I showed up 2 hours early for my appointment and wasn't able to pick it back up until after 7pm (they closed at 6pm). My wife and I have been bringing our 2015 Subaru Impreza to Bachman for service since we moved to the area; the customer service experience is almost always great. Typically we deal with Jim as our advisor, but occasionally have spoken with Kim and Tony-- all great customer-oriented people who listen and, in our eyes, genuinely care for the product and the relationship with their customers.
Last week, we had the Impreza towed to the dealership to have an issue looked at, ended up being a brake light switch and was replaced under a recall notice. While traveling to pick up the car, we decided to take a closer look at some newer models with the intent of upgrading to a larger car in the near future. We've been twice, just looking, figuring out models, packages, trims etc.
Ken Sutton came out on the lot and jumped right into it-- he helped us quickly narrow down a model and a trim, and went through all of the features of the 2019 Forester. Ken took his time to describe the car, the performance and ratings, all while being conversational and relaxed. When we got back to the dealership, he took the time to work up a budget sheet for the car (or a car of similar price/features) for us to take home.
Been buying and servicing cars at dealerships all over the country, totally different experience with these folks. In a time when a lot of dealerships are going in one direction, these folks are staying still, focusing on their product and their customer service. Although I can't say everyone will have the same experience-- I would be confident in sending you in their direction for anything Subaru.

He texts me every once in a while to see how things are going which is a little thing that I really appreciate. I have never felt pressured to make a decision, which is not something I can say about most dealerships I have visited. If you hate high pressure car sales people and the long process of paperwork this is the place for you. My salesman, Bob Shewalter, was knowledgeable and never pushy. The finance guy was quick and to the point but there are a lot of extended warranties available. The explanations will allow you to tailor the extended warranty to what you feel you need. No pressure here either. I’d give Bob and the dealership 10 stars if that was on option! And to top it off I absolutely love my Subaru Ascent.

We tested the all wheel drive on the car with a mini/steep hill. I knew what all wheel drive was, but actually testing it on the car I was interested in made me fall more in love with the car.

The adaptive cruise control and eyesight features are awesome, it may not drive itself like a Tesla, but it does what it can to keep you in your lane and at a safe distance from the car in front of you, so you can actually set the cruise control and not have to mess with it constantly to maintain a safe distance. This car corners amazingly, very fun to drive, and the gas mileage is great.

My wife, Barbara, and I went to Bachman Subaru on a rainy night one hour before they closed. We wanted to drive a Forester. Our plan, if we liked the test drive, was to find a used Premium with 20k miles for purchase. The salesman, Dusty, handled us perfectly. He first wanted to know what was wanted on the vehicle. After which he told us we were actually looking for a Limited Forester because what we wanted is not on the Premium. Then he asked what type of miles was acceptable to us and shared the price on a used we'd expect to see. Then he casually pointed out a new limited without several bells and whistles, that we didn't care for anyway, was just several thousand more. The test drive went great. Then Dusty, assumed we were buying, asked what color do we like? He gave us 3 colors which we picked white. He said "why don't I just go in and have the numbers put on paper for you to see and left us to look the white Forester over. When he returned we looked it over and it wasn't out of our budget. Dusty, without us saying anything, said "just give me your driver's license and current insurance, and knowing we were leaving to pick up our son and couldn't stay, told us he'd get it set up so when we return everything but the credit app would be in order. We came back Friday, I had to leave Barbara and everything went smoothly. Very well done. Dusty could not have been better.

This was easily the best car shopping experience I've ever had. My husband and I had to buy a car on short notice due to our previous car dying suddenly. All we knew for sure was that we wanted a Subaru. We looked at a few other places before coming to Bochman Subaru but didn't really find what we where looking for. I walked into Bochman expecting your typical car buying experience where your sales person doesn't really listen to what you want and just tries to force you in to the care they will get the most commission for. Not even close. James sat down with us even though my husband had no idea what car he wanted. After some time discussing more what we where really looking for we did a test drive of a Legacy. We had our estimates out on the table and ready to buy but my husband just wasn't 100% happy so we asked to drive a Crosstrek. James was more than happy to take us out to the crosstrek let us sit in it and then even test drive it. It was close to closing time but we never felt pressured or rushed to make a decision. My husband was much happier with the Crosstrek! Not only did we end up with a car he Loves instead of just likes we had an amazing shopping experience. James was very nice, very personable, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will be going back to see James when I'm ready to buy my Subaru.

I purchased a WRX in August of 2015. I had my eye on one for years and they received 5 in that day. Went in around 9 am and expressed my interest and got setup with a salesman. I also was not able to test drive the car. They refused. They were not willing to negotiate on price and I even had quote from them. Eventually they honored the price. I did not get as much for my trade in as I would have liked. I worked through the extended warranty information and was given literature representing the Subaru Added Security. I did not realize until sometime later that it was a 3rd party warranty. They did reach out to me and addressed that the warranty would cover similar to the Subaru Added Security. We'll see if I ever need warranty service. My wife and I did not leave until after 3 pm. It took 6 hours to get my car! I asked over the lunch hour that we be dropped off somewhere local for some food and was told that they could not drive us. They instead bought us some soda from the vending machines. We finished the paperwork and went to collect the car. A few months later I had severe rail dust issues on my car, of course I bought a pearl white car. I brought the car in and the service rep took pictures and told me they would get back soon. I called every week for a month was continually told that they had not heard anything. Eventually the service department called and said they would cover the detailing to remove the rail dust. Unfortunately this was after I moved out of state so I was never able to get it remedied. Overall my experience was meager at best. The service department had reasonable prices on service. Posted as well which was nice. Do your homework and make sure you read all the fine print or shop somewhere else.

On Thursday, March 14, 2019, I was traveling northbound on I65 on my way to visit friends in Wisconsin. I was ten miles south of Louisville when I had a blowout on my 2019 Forester. After AAA changed my tire and put on the spare, I contacted my Nashville Subaru dealership to inquire about closest Subaru dealership. My salesman provided me with Bachman Subaru in Louisville. Upon arriving at Bachman, I was greeted by Kim Fairchild, Service Advisor. She was quite courteous and quickly knew I was there for a new tire. She advised they did not have the Falken tire I needed in stock. However, she said they could order the tire from the plant in Indiana, and the tire would be delivered between 11 and 2 the following day. I booked a hotel and spent the night. The following day, Kim called around 1pm stating tire had been delivered. By 3:00 pm, I was back on the road to Wisconsin. I truly value great customer service and would like to commend Kim Fairchild for her professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond by serving my needs during a stressful experience. I put off car buying as long as I can since past experiences with dealerships have been so frustrating and negative. This week I went to Bachman's and met Darren House their sales rep. His pleasant manner put me at ease right away. His no-nonsense approach was what I was hoping for. I was fully researched and prepared and he respected that.
The process moved smoothly and quickly, as it should but often doesn't. His processing the sales was impressive and left me with a new, positive opinion of how car sales are handled. I cannot say the same for when the last step was working with their finance man. I went in with my finances worked out in advance. I also knew when to say no to add-ons having been advised by my son-in-law who works for a dealership in Denver. I repeatedly said no to extended warranties but my opinion did not matter. I was held captive I felt to his insistence on selling me a 70,000 mile Buchman warranty above and beyond what I already had from Subaru. I was very tired, gave in, so signed his document which on observation increased my cost to over $1300. That was after hearing over and over it added but a few dollars per month to my payments. What about 3 more months of payments to boot? Was I told that? So I left Bachman feeling conflicted over my experience in the sales process. It went from very positive to very negative as far as my feeling were concerned. With some people your feelings and opinions don't matter, yet I was the customer.

I arrived at about 8:00 am this morning (April 4, 2016) with a grinding sound in the rear of my car. I spoke to Mr. James Edmondson and told him that I thought it was a wheel bearing but wasn't sure. He drove my car around the block and came back to confirm that it was a right rear wheel bearing.
He offered to take me home but I declined as I live in Scottsburg, Indiana and told him this was my only mode of transportation. I began working with several Subaru Dealerships at once (via email) in an attempt to find the best price on a 2015 Forester w/ the all-weather package. Most of these dealerships were within Kentucky, but I was willing to consider Ohio, Indiana and even Illinois if the price was right.
Like most folks I first checked Truecar to find what was considered a good price in my area. And I knew I needed to at least test drive one, even if I were already certain it was the car for me. I went to Quantrell in Lexington and once I found a sales agent (it’s annoying to go to used car lot and be bombarded by salesmen – but it’s no less annoying to be forced to seek out someone to talk to). After 10 minutes we met a nice salesman who did great job w/ test drive but I knew I would get the best price through their internet dept. and not face to face. I then contacted the Quantrell Internet Sales Manager and he gives me a great price. When I tell him I’m ready to buy, the Internet Sales Manager tells me he has made a mistake and that the vehicle I want would be more expensive. This occurs way more often than I had thought…it’s a way to get the conversation going…a way to get their foot in your door.
And then there was Joseph Subaru of Florence. The woman I was originally dealing with was replaced because she was on vacation and then the salesman who replaced her didn’t get back to me because he was on vacation. Other dealerships acted unprofessionally by outright ignoring my price quotes.
Neil Huffman was pitiful: Young salesmen/saleswomen trying to play power games when they don’t seem to understand the rules.
There were only two dealerships that treated me with genuine respect: Evanston Subaru (though my only communication with them was through email) and Bachman Subaru.
I have no affiliation with any of these people and wouldn’t give a good review if it weren’t deserving.
I spoke with Mark Townsley of Bachman Subaru on and off for a few months (I was in no real hurry but just looking for a great price). He consistently checked in with me without being forceful. When I had completed my research and knew exactly what I wanted to pay he matched my price. He played no games…didn’t try to bait me in and agreed on a fair price. I had the car delivered to my residence in Frankfort by Eric McPeters who was a genuinely nice guy and stayed and explained everything about my new Forester as if we were at the dealership. It was a great experience.
You know when you see those Subaru commercials on tv and you get a little hope up that maybe somebody out there will beat the stereotype of the common car dealer. Someone will be honest and not play games. That’s what I got from this dealership. Buying a new car should be a little fun, right?

While my experience with service has always been excellent, I am giving the sales department 3 stars for not being truthful when selling special extended warranties when I purchased this car almost 4 years ago. I specifically bought a 5 ding and scratches policy. So, after 4 years I decided to use this policy. Figuring I paid for it, might as well use it. When I took my car today to get it fixed, they explained that this policy only covers dings from other car doors on your passenger or drivers side door. So, the little scratch I had on my side view mirror and the small scratch on the front of the car are not covered. They were very mis-leading when they sold me this policy. They need to re-name it and call it the 5 ding door only policy, no scratches covered policy. I wouldn't normally buy a policy like this, but planned on keeping this car for many years. I won't make this mistake again.

I drove my friend's 2018 Forester on a road trip thru the mountains heading to Ocracoke Island for New Years, I was so impressed with how well it drove thru the rainy foggy mountains I decided to see my friend's salesman Ken Sutton at Bachman in Louisville. Tony Crespo was our salesperson and I highly recommend him. Tony was hugely helpful in pointing out the differences between the Forester and Outback (I wasn't sure which one I should get). He gave me the pros and cons of both models - stuff that I would have overlooked during test drives but that would have bothered me later.
He feels down-to-earth/authetic/low pressure so you don't feel like you're dealing with a salesperson; EXCELLENT knowledge of the vehicles.
My husband and 1 year daughter came with me and I appreciated that he spoke with all of us as opposed to ignoring me and just speaking with my husband as some can do.
Tony was patient as we test drove several models and had to install/uninstall our car seat (which he showed us how to do!).
Tony even followed up with us a few days after we test drove/got quotes.
The only reason I am not giving 5/5 stars is because we wanted a used vehicle and they didn't have any of that model to offer so we ended up purchasing elsewhere and thus I don't know what this dealership is like in the purchasing phase.
Tony still offered to assist us with our questions even AFTER we told him we bought used from another location. Real professionalism and class.
If we ever buy new, we're checking in here.

After reading Mark's response I decided to reach out and thank him for the personal follow up. He invited us to revisit the location and my husband took him up on his offer. He headed their way and shortly after arriving he messaged me saying "I really like Wayne and Jeff. Very personable, really nice and no waiting games."
We had visited a total of four dealers over the last two weeks. We started and ended our search with Bachman; Not everything starts out like we plan sometimes. It took a humble and customer focused company to do what Mark, Wayne and Jeff did for us this evening.
They turned one very angry wife into a life long customer. We will be back in a few years (2018 to be exact) because the husband is eyeing the WRX STi.

For the last 13 years I have been a Volkswagen owner (A New Beetle and then a Passat). I felt that Ken really cared that I was happy with my new Subaru Outback from the purchase price, the car's features and Bachman's Service Center operation.
