This was my first time having my Mini Cooper serviced and I was so pleased. I was taken on time, so no long waiting and the procedure for the maintenance was clearly explained by Mario Franco my Service Advisor . Mario was courteous and had a friendly warm personality.. He gave me an estimated time to pick up my car and assured he would call me close to the completion of service . He was on point with est. time and as promised did call me beforehand. Excellent experience.! I’m impressed:)

1st time at this particular MINI dealership and I was helped by Jorge who went above and behind helping me with my oil change, loaner car and communicated on what repairs my car needed. He was very professional, patient, and understanding.
I was impressed with the video that I received to show what repairs were recommended and the system they used even showed what my bill was going to be without too much back and forth. Very Simplified system that made me feeling like my time was valued as a customer.

Mario and his service staff are incredibly friendly, efficient and honest.I’ve used their service department for the last 5 yrs. Recently, I took my car in and while scrambling to get to work, dropped a few hundred dollars in cash between the seats. I didn’t realize until a couple days later. I had no way to know if it was in my car or on the street, so I didn’t bother to call.I painstakingly, took it as a likely loss. When i picked up the car, to my pleasant surprise, the staff had rolled up the cash and put it in my cup holder! I truly truly appreciate them for this. The world can be a wild place sometimes. It was nice to see people be so kind and honest, rather than take advantage of a situation. Such wonderful crew!

Great dealership! Went in looking for a used manual transmission Mini to tow behind our RV. Our sales rep (Marc) was extremely knowledgeable about all the vehicles and patiently stayed with us for a couple test drives and a ton of questions. Majority of my visits were scheduled with Jorge. Each and every time he took an incredible care of me and my car
He Always explained everything thoroughly and took his time.. covered several issues I had under warranty and never tried to take advantage of me as a customer.
He always had a loaner waiting for me..
And my visit was no longer than 15 minutes.
What I loved the most is even when I called 6 months later he always recognized my voice on the phone and which car I drive.
After servicing my car at Univeral Mini I can honestly say I would purchase a new vehicle from them in a heartbeat just to give them business

The folks here (at the service center) are always so thorough and helpful. It’s expensive, but they are seriously the kindest people and they offer the best service. Particularly Mario and Jorge. Unfortunately due to some uncontrollable circumstances my experience was different this time. The wait time to get my car fixed lasted almost two weeks, they didn’t have a loaner car to offer and had to pay $350 for a rental. But as always the team there is extremely service oriented and tries the best they can to make clients happy during these tough times.

Service is generally a shock when you own a Mini. The extended warranties are good to have. You will use them. Today took longer than I would have liked.... but I got some work done and had 'free' coffee while I waited.

Easy to make an appointment ,quick and easy drop off. Jorge always so helpful but the whole service team is. They were able to provide me a Uber from/to the dealership. Even the cashiers are friendly. Do yourself a favor and get a hot chocolate from the machine.

Great job, I was actually surprised that Jorge was able to accommodate me as soon as he did and the wait time went by quickly and only took 2 hours not 3👍🏽...of course the sticker shock took me for surprise, even though the AAA gentleman who gave me a heads up about me having to go to a mechanic in order to change the battery somewhat prepped me. I also found the videos and diagnostic helpful and transparent. Jose, another service advisor, was also really accommodating. He helped check m3 in and set up an appointment so I can drop off my car for some other work that needs to be taken care of. Over all very satisfied. + Iove the merch😁

I really like MINI at Universal City. Greg helped me to get my car, who was super nice and patient. He and his partner worked with me to find a car with my needs and budget in mind. Not pushy at all which was very refreshing. I also got a pretty decent interest rate from the finance department.
For the last three years, Mario has been taking care of my car. He is very professional and reachable. All fees so far were covered in my package. Hassle free and stress free. My little mini is still in prime condition.

I want to start by stating first and foremost: Irene Padilla is amazing! She helped minimize the (immense) stress I had of having to purchase a car right away. That alone was enough for me to be thankful for! To top it off though she was incredibly friendly, communicative and helpful every step of the way.
My husband had found a car through the dealership’s website and made contact through there. Soon after he was emailed and called by Irene to let him know it was available and if he wanted to come by to look, she’d have it ready for us.
We show up and there it is: keys in the car and Irene walking us through everything. To keep it short, I fell in love with the MINI and we were on our way to purchasing! She made what seemed like a daunting chore into a fun shopping trip, lol!
The other two people I have to shout out are Sharon and Bernie (I think I’m spelling that right)! Sharon was clear and kind while she walked us through the paperwork and patient when we had questions/concerns. Bernie was friendly and answered my husband’s many questions honestly (I mean in a way that was genuine and not “salesperson-y” if that makes any sense).
Overall, our first experience here was great! It was like a breath of fresh air having come from a nearby competitor (not gonna name who hehe) and being treated well.

The folks at Mini have been helping me maintain my Mini Coopers since 2019. They always have expert advice for regular maintenance, timely diagnostics, and fair suggestions for critical maintenance.
The Mini reps advised me that owning a Mini is more expensive than American cars, Minis run hot (especially turbocharged), and to be more vigilant with checking fluids. All of which corraborates my mechanic of 12 years. So, I appreciate the consistency and honesty.

Showed up with a broken passenger seat and the service team at Universal Mini stepped up to the plate and fixed it for an even lower cost than they had originally quoted. This review is solely for the service and parts department here at MINI of Universal City. I've had my car worked on now here by service advisor Jorge and his technician Howard a few times now.
If you own a MINI and you want the absolute best top notch meticulous service ask for service advisor Jorge and make sure he has Howard working on your car. It doesn't matter if you own a older or newer MINI he is likely one of the best technicians for these cars. Howard is one of the few technicians that can diagnose any issues on these cars like the back of his hands in a timely manner and is incredibly detailed and meticulous when it comes to his repairs and work ethics. Things are fixed correctly the first time around and he takes pride in his work and it truly shows once you get your car back.
Jorge is very upfront and will also save you money by avoiding unnecessary repairs and unnecessary up sell services and repairs you frequently would encounter at other dealerships or repair facilities. You can rest assured your car will be taken care of by the team here and they will treat it like their own. I am very OCD about my cars and only want the best technicians to work on them.
I've also dealt with the parts department here numerous times. Ask for Alan he's extremely knowledgeable about these cars and the brand. The pricing and service he'll deliver is also unmatched. They stock a large variety of parts and whatever they don't have, he'll make sure to have it in a timely, efficient manner. If you don't have the part number handy, Alan is also very patient with helping his customers find exactly what they're looking for.
Overall, the three individuals I've dealt with here are a gem in this industry and you will be very fortunate to work with them. Transparency, honesty and integrity is three things that a lot of corporate dealerships lack unfortunately these days.

Very decent place with nice people working there. I went there after being concerned about an oil leak caused by Valvoline and Eddie took care of my car right away. They have an app where they put all the information that need to be done to your car with the price and you can directly approve or deny service on the app. No more useless phone calls or wasted time.
Service was completed in less than 24h for my car and I couldn't be happier. Will definitely go back for all of my other services in the future.
EDIT: Went back because I thought the car was still leaking. Appointment at 8am, I was out by 9am after being reassured that there was no leak. They took me upstairs to even show me and they even cleaned my car at no cost. Eddie is an amazing person and I'm very happy of the service of everyone at MINI. Will come back for sure!
Edit 2: I went back to service my car, had to modify my appointment at the last minute because I needed the repairs to be done before they closed on Saturday. Eddie rescheduled me and the car was ready in less than 5 hours! I do like how they have the system where you an see whatever repairs you need and approve the ones you want directly on your phone without having to bother anyone. Will go back for all my future mini needs. Everyone is very nice and welcoming.

Mario is by far the best service advisor there is. He treats you with respect and listens to your concerns about your car without making you feel like you don't know anything like most car dealers/mechanics/etc do. He does the service you request and informs you on what his technicians find and recommends. If you choose to wait or go somewhere else, total cool. He is never pushy or tries to upsell you on something unnecessary. He's the only one I trust with my mini and the day he's not there anymore is the day I stop bringing my car into the dealership for service. As for the services I've gotten, I usually get an oil change which their price is competitive to the local lube place plus I get a courtesy loaner or free Uber or shuttle so that's a big bonus. I've had some major repairs, like timing chains (yes several.. These cars are known for it) replaced, turbo lines and a few other big things. My extended warranty covered all of it and Mario dwelt with all the insurance stuff so I didn't even have to make a phone call. Seriously, you want your visit and repair to go smoothly, ask for Mario.

Very profesional and as I decided to stay and wait for it, he kept me informed throughout about the progress of the work. Update - went for issues with my front left tire on 04/19. As always, I got an appointment and the staff was super quick and efficient. The tire was replaced and I went sent on my way. This is definitely a dealership with quality service. I love the fact that they don't push service on you - they clearly explain what's needed and what's optional, you pick, they do the work, and call it a day. This is why, now that I'm back in LA, I only plan to take my car to Mini at Universal City.
First time going to this location. Overall satisfied with the service, even if I’m a little shocked at the Los Angeles prices. The Mini service center opened promptly at 7:30 am and it took me about 15 min to check my car in with Jose and be on my way. Jose was kind and courteous and explained exactly what was going to be done to my car. I will definitely be visiting this service center for any of my future needs.
Just as an FYI, Mini provides a free Lyft up to 10 miles away from the dealership.

Service was great, as usual. I purchased my CPO vehicle here in April 2018 with the Maintenance Program Upgrade Agreement and each visit has been a seamless and pleasant process. Jorge Gutierrez is my regular service advisor. Jorge is very attentive, knowledgeable, honest and pleasant. I typically have them arrange transportation for me to get to work, but because of the pandemic, that didn't happen this time. I waited in the showroom for the first half of my wait time, which was a little quiet. It needs a bit more ambience with either music or a television for entertaining. Other than that, I'm extremely satisfied with their service.

This is the third Mini Cooper S that we have gotten from the MINI of UNIVERSAL CITY. We were not aware of the glut of vehicles available (or should I say UNavailable!). Our lease for the 2016 Cooper S was up on July 27, 2021, but we didn't get the call that our car was in until Saturday, August 28, 2021. We were there for maybe two or two and a half hours, total. That includes being shown any of the new features, as well as going over the deal and signing the contract. Everything was as simple as you could want it to be. Our Sales Rep was Neil Pearl (sorry if I got the spelling of Neil incorrect Buddy), and he is a super nice guy and went above and beyond with his attention to detail and making sure that Bebe was happy. This is her car, I'm just along for the ride, so to speak! I know that I can speak for both of us when I say that we continue to be impressed with the way that we are treated there and when the time comes, either at the time the lease ends or after should we decide to keep it, we will be going back to the place where we got our first MINI! Great job by all involved.

My wife and I went in on Saturday and there was Neil busy with other customers, but still had the time to answer any concerns that my wife or I had. Still. no pressure. After a few minutes, we told him we were interested in purchasing the Countryman that I test drove.
In order to expedite the transaction, Marc stepped in and took care of the paperwork, my trade in, and other issues that I had. Then, Bernie, the sales manager became involved and again, no pressure. Everyone was so nice, patient, knowledgeable and accommodating. I Never experienced that at a dealer in my life. Then I went in the finance dept and Sharon took care of the details, again no pressure.
The entire staff is amazing. When I have gone back to Universal Mini, it's like going to a friend's house. Everyone is very accessible, Neil, Marc, Bernie, Jorge in Service. You guys are the best . I'll being seeing you soon.

Went to have service on my MINI because of a battery issue and was there a month ago because of a tire problem and Jorge took care of me both times. He works very quickly and is super kind which is always a bonus when you’re having your car taken care of because of it being an already stressful situation. The service department & sales Dept are great here! I’ve leased 3 minis through Marty here. My only reason for 4 stars is the lack of Covid mask protocols when I’ve been in there. Staff without mask- in their office but employees are in and out of that office. Customers and some staff wearing mask under their noses or pulled down to their chins. They have sanitizer & patricians up which is great but I personally don’t want to be standing in between 2 people with their mask pulled down indoors. The staff is friendly and helpful and have always been happy with my service over the 9 yrs I’ve been there

I found a Mini for my wife at Mini of Universal City, I contacted Neil and went to see him the next day. He was busy and passed me off to Marc. Marc was great and Neil was too. The finance gal (forgot her name) was great and gave me a great rate much better than my CU. Absolutely best experience at a car dealer I ever had. Went back the next day to pick it up. The only negative was that their on line appointment system didn't work; but when I called, the person I spoke to was great. The check in/check out process was easy and the cashier was very nice. First time there for service. Very courteous staff. Although, when picking up my vehicle it wasn’t explained to me that I just had to go to the service counter instead of just speaking with a technician. I would normally (in the other mini dealership that has not since been closed) go in through the service door, speak to someone there and then go to the counter to pay/sign paperwork). I just waited a while before someone just told me to do that (again, first time there so I didn’t know know). Other than that, service was great!

In a bit of a bind with a nail in my tire and wanting to keep the same brand and style of tire, I reached out to George in the parts department and he located and held the only one left. When I arrived Mario was great with a positive greeting and very enthusiastic about what he does. I felt very comfortable and well looked after despite it being my first experience and only there for a single tire replacement. Really a testament to the leadership for creating a great atmosphere for the customers and a great environment for the staff. I will make this my go-to MINI dealership from now on.

Recently, my car was experiencing issues so I brought my car into the dealership expecting to be completely ripped off and treated unfairly (because unfortunately lots of dealerships do this, and can be especially discriminatory towards women by taking advantage and being manipulative). Both Jose & Bernie went above and beyond in providing excellent customer service and working hard to quickly fix my car. They were extremely fair with pricing and accommodating me and my car's needs. 5 stars for Irene!! But as for the location…4 Here’s why…
Walked into the dealership on a Wednesday just to compare my research I’ve done at home. Was able to look at the vehicles without being harassed by a salesperson and their questions which was a plus for me. Came back that afternoon to test drive and was recommend by the service technicians to speak with Irene since she speaks Spanish. Irene was very patient and understanding of our specific situation and did her best to help us. Would highly recommend her since she’s not your average sales associate! Never aggressive to make a sale.
Once the financing part came that’s when the location was not giving us good vibes. From our understanding Mini has its own finance system (aka Mini FS) which was making it difficult for us to drive away with the deal. After 3 hrs waiting to hear for a “response” a gentlemen with a long beard was pretty up front and said there’s nothing he can do since the finance department is closed. This is 7:00pm and pretty much was not interested in our money. We left disappointed since we spent a significant time “waiting to hear a response”. So we decided to cancel all transaction the next day and schedule an appointment with Mini of Santa Monica next day.
Went back to pick up our documents and down payment and Irene offered a second finance company to help (3rd party bank). We gave it one more shot and got approved to drive away with the vehicle. That took 5 mins! After that we were out in 45 mins with all documents. We wish that would have happened the 1st day we arrived. I think the sales manager even recognized it was frustrating for us and personally apologized which was great!
Just some advice to the finance department, close your door when you talk about your customers.

Jorge Gutierrez, the service manager, is always welcoming and engaging. I always get treated well by the entire staff. The technicians and service department personnel are always looking to keep my Mini in the best shape. There have been times when repairs were advised and completed which I had not yet been aware, stuff that I would have asked to be taken care of had I known prior to my visit. It is as if I had a second set of eyes with diagnostic abilities. There may be some who think poorly of repair technicians finding items which do not need to be resolved. I have never felt that way with the technicians at Mini NOHO. Should something not need to be done, I feel that I get honest experiential responses from Jorge.

Took my 2005 Mini Cooper S to Mini of Universal City to have my power steering recall done. They were very professional, and took all the precautions to stay safe with COVID-19, and also did everything to keep me safe. They used plastic wraps around the steering wheel as well as the seats. Not only was my car done within the time frame they said it would be, but I also got my car washed. And got a free inspection and received advice to keep an eye out for other repairs my car needs soon due to wear and tear.
All and all a great experience. Above all thank you for the precautions you guys take to keep the costumer and employee's safe in these crazy times.

They've been nothing but excellent, and have really knowledgeable service managers - in my case, a guy who came up from being a mechanic, so he genuinely knows his way around these cars. When I brought my car for service in the morning I was immediately shuttled home which was fantastic but the estimate of when I could come back for my car was vastly underestimated. The service rep said roughly 4 hours. The shuttle driver said 2 to 3 hours. The reality, 8 hours. No one called me all day long and then it started getting close to 5 o’clock I was panicked thinking I would not be able to get my car until the next day but I needed it so I called them and After being forwarded to my service rep. who had gone home, having to call back again to get another representative, to finally being told that my car was ready and the receptionist would talk to me to book a shuttle. At around 5pm she said roughly it would be 1 hour till the shuttle would be at my house. An hour passes, I call to check, it hasn’t been sent out so she said he’ll be there in 17 minutes. That was pretty accurate and finally I was taken back to pick up my car around 7 pm. While I appreciated that they offered a shuttle (it’s in my lease contract) I didn’t appreciate the innaccurate estimates of time and being told to wait around for a shuttle that wasn’t even sent. The evening shuttle driver was pleasant but seriously needed to change his shirt or something because the body odor was extremely strong in a very bad way. I’m usually not bothered by this type of thing but wow, it was bad. I felt my time was not respected and the staff was disorganized. Nothing that a little employee meeting couldn’t fix. Hopefully by my next visit it will be a bit more organized. I really did not want to leave a bad review because I love Mini I love my car. I had to be completely honest writing this review though, I was not really a very satisfied customer sorry guys.

Of the 12-15 (lost count) dealerships we shopped, we bought from this one for one reason: the product. The sales person (Marc Perry) was knowledgeable and friendly, with a clear willingness to serve both us and his company. We did interact with them a few times bc our desired vehicle’s battery was dead and it took a couple days to fix, plus, when we came to pick up the car they had to send it back to detailing. Etc... Their process requires Mini customers to walk down the road to BMW. There, buyers meet with finance people, even if paying cash. Ours was good at reciting the script. It was clear he didn’t think we were paying close attention, as he glossed over a few points we caught him on. We asked for a chance to discuss it. He stepped out, which was nice, but while we were talking, just two minutes into it, some other worker entered, got a file, and exited, all without knocking nor saying a word. We were shocked. When we didn’t buy the service contract for an additional $2,250-5,000 (depending on length of contract), his attitude abruptly shifted and was borderline offensive. I know they want to make more money off each deal, but maybe teach a method of interacting that is more personalized to the prospect? And protect the environment in which the selling occurs... If that’s where the profit happens, invest in it!

Everything was great. Scheduled appointment online, dropped off my car, planned to wait but turns out the service was going to take a lot longer than I thought, Mini arrange for a ride home for me then pick me up Via Uber(great idea). When I got back to the dealership, checked out quickly, picked up my car that was freshly washed and waiting, then went home. All in all, I spent very little time in the dealership. I’m always treated courteously at Mini of Universal City. I’d been taking my old Mini to the service department for years, and Jorge has been fantastic. Everyone else I’ve encountered, whether I was there to buy a car or not has been great.
However, I’m not rating 5 stars b/c I still have some confusion over the price of the car I bought. I was a difficult customer due to my credit rating and a title loan I had on my trade in. So Marty and the sales manager worked tirelessly to find a gently used car that would pencil for me. They worked on it for two days. When they finally found the one, I liked it, and forgot that detail. I asked Marty about it while I was waiting to sign papers in the finance office, to which Marty responded that “he’ll go over all of that with you.” Well, “he” didn’t and I signed. When I got home, I looked closely, and to me it appears as though I paid several thousand dollars above the list price. I’m a bit confused, and not sure if I was taken advantage of. I don’t want to believe it - everyone was so nice, but there is doubt in my mind.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that my sunroof that was fixed, is making a sound when it opens and closes that it didn’t before. I really like the service and staff depts at Mini of Universal City. So much, that now that I live on the Westside, I still make the trek out to North Hollywood for the service and crew here.They have consistently always provided excellent customer service, provide a loaner car when I need one and today, even worked with me on costs to fix the trunk latch on my Mini Cooper. Jose helped me this last time around and stayed in touch with me via text message. I don’t know if other Mini Cooper sites are doing this, but Mini of Universal City provides ALL work being done via text, in the form of a checklist, the costs/or if it is covered under warranty and its priority. This service was helpful to review. They even provided a short video of the tech checking the tread on my tires with a very visible green marker to see on the gauge.
All in all, another great experience at Mini of Universal City today. Let’s hope the sales staff is as awesome as the service staff when I look to purchase or lease my next Mini!

This is a review for a first time customer in the Service Department.
Upon car drop-off, I had to strongly convince the service manager I worked with, to walk out to my car so I could describe what my issue was. I am uncertain why this is not a standard practice.
The service receptionist did not inform me that a loaner car requires a credit card. If you do not being a credit card, you will not be issued a loaner and will need another form of transportation.
No one called to tell me my service request was completed. I called for an update and was told my car had been ready for pickup.
All of my console settings had been wiped out and need to be re-configured. My seat had also been moved and I had to re-configure it back to being ergonomically correct.
My main concern appears to be resolved as well as other items reported as needing service.

Last summer while I was in Southern California visiting family, my wife’s aunt asked if I’d do her a favor and take her Cooper in for a service. I checked the local listings and found MINI of Universal City. I called and was please to get an appointment for the very next day.
Being it was my first time at the dealer and their service area and that I’m not a Mini owner myself, I didn’t know what to expect. What I discovered was just how warm, friendly and prompt everyone was. From the young women at the service desk who checked me in to one of the young service managers (a Mr. Hall I believe was his name).
Not only was I in and out of there on time, but the price they quoted me was also the price I ended up paying for the service. I informed my aunt and now she continues to take her car to this very dealer and has found out first hand what exceptional service they offer.

I had a car slam into the back of me on the 101 freeway and my 2012 VW Tiguan was totaled. So I decided I wanted to purchase a certified pre-owned mini Cooper Clubman. I went online and found exactly what I was looking for at universal City mini. I worked with Marc Who provided excellent customer service, it was without a doubt the easiest car purchase I've ever made and at age 63 that's saying a lot. (Marc Perry) was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable and confident about buying. I had some issues that were going to require special attention and personal involvement of the pre-owned sales manager (Jose Gutierrez) who went out of his way to get the deal done. I strongly recommend universal City mini Cooper and ask for Marc. You'll be glad you did.

Service Representative was knowledgeable, responsive and prompt in his communication regarding the status of my vehicle. He spent time working through a warranty issue and resolved it quickly.

From my first conversation with Marty, I knew right away that I would not just make a purchase, but he would give me a great deal on a CPO Mini 2 door S model! He’s easy to speak to and will do what he can to get you the perfect car! The whole process was smooth and we did most of the leg work via phone & email, therefore, it minimized a lot of time to come to a deal. When I arrived to sign paperwork, the car was already washed and had a full tank of gas! Marty also sat with me in the Mini to go over the vehicles options and Bluetooth setup. I live in Oxnard and work in Camarillo where I bought mi second Mini 4 years ago. Sadly Mini of Camarillo closed so I started going to Bob Smith Mini in Calabasas since it was the closest to me. Never felt comfortable there so I thought I’d go a bit farther to Mini of Universal City and I definitely felt more at home there. It’s a bit of a drive for me but worth it!

Service is fine. Problem is the lack of coordination in setting appointments. I set my appointment online for 7:30 am, which was the advertised first appointment on Mini’s website. I received numerous e-mails and texts confirming the time and reminding me of the appointment. When I timely arrived, the gate was closed. When I called the service advisor, he told me Mini was not open until 8 am, because of Covid-19. That was the new schedule that had been used for the past month, but Mini’s management never changed the website, exterior physical signage, and continued reminding consumers to arrive for their earlier appointments. Not responsible, professional or courteous to customers, especially since I had arranged to be be picked up. After I pleaded, the service advisor finally allowed me to walk in to start my paperwork, but the gate remained closed.

Overall, the customer service was satisfactory. Employees are courteous. The technicians are honest and good with communicating. There was one slight delay where they ordered the wrong part. They do try to work pretty fast.

Though admittedly everyone seemed quite friendly there (defnot the regular expected car dealership experience I've had to deal w in the past - multipleToyota & recently Chevy dealership). On my recent hunt for a specific package/year/color of a Used MINI S I've had to deal with ALL kinds of Used Car Salespeople. Im so glad the search ended at this dealership He was wonderful to deal with. Really friendly, knowledgeable about all the MINI S questions I had and extremely responsive to my many inquiries and rescheduling.
I inquired about a CPO MINI I had seen online that wasn't even stickered yet, let alone ready to be shown. Marty got the car in for detailing and got me in to test drive it the next morning.He helped work w my financing options and even beat the pre-approval rates I walked in with. Happy new MINI owner and even though I'd put off the "overpriced" dealership deals I'd been warned about, I can actually say that after this experience and the price I got (w warranty coverage, etc) Im quite happy that Universal MINI is my dealership :)
