We shopped in Grand Forks for a vehicle for my mom and absolutely nothing popped up that she liked. We called Gateway Hyundai Nissan about a specific car and they told us they would bring it out for her to look at and test drive. We arrived from Grand Forks and Kevin Nordick greeted us at the door. He was a breath of fresh air. You cant get any better service, I’m telling ya. From the hello to the goodbye, he was fantastic. My mom found her perfect vehicle. She has never had a new-to-her car. My husband and I were looking for a SUV/crossover - we had checked out a few cars, but were waiting for the right one within our budget. We worked with James - he was incredibly patient and personable through the entire process. I think Jeff was the finance manager? he was awesome and answered all of our questions.

They fixed my car for free under warranty. Even covered my rental for a few days for free 😱 the service was great I was greeted as soon as I got out of my car by a young man who was really welcoming and friendly. When I got to the service area I did stand there feeling pretty dumb for a couple minutes but the young man who ended up helping me was really kind and helpful. I would only suggest that there should be a line or seat arrangement where people can stand or sit in and be visible so someone can approach them and know they need help with something in that area. It is also located really close to the parts area which is just kinda poor design but maybe a sign or stanchion can be put in place to guide people a little easier or give them a sense of direction or instruction.

I dislike shopping for anything, especially cars. I receive Motor Trend and they had an article on the Genesis. I knew immediately that was where I was moving towards. Everyone is driving an SUV, but I have never likes/enjoyed/relaxed with the ride in an SUV and I have ridden in a Lexus 450 Hybrid. The ride is too stiff and I feel every bump in the road. With my new Genesis.....problem solved. Niklaus-sales manager....Tim B.-salesman and Jeff- financing made the whole process "anxiety free." Extremely pleased with the attention and follow-up as I continue to get acquainted with my baby. It is a no-contest that I would recommend them for your future major purchases. I was having an issue with my drivers door exterior touch lock.... many times would not lock. Unlocking never an issue. Door handle was replaced.... however, problem still exists. Seems like cold weather enhances the problem.

Great place to buy a car, wonderful service technicians. Seriously; major props to the technicians in the back room: their work is quality. Hyundai's staff is friendly and I highly advise these guys. But if you're not covered by warranty, recalls, or insurance when taking your vehicle into their service department for diagnostics & repair, question everything and Guard. Your. Wallet.
They charge $150 for initial diagnostics, plus $250-$300 per hour for labor. I don't know if I just had bad luck on this last run or if something changed since last year, but their service advisors no longer take the initiative to try and save you any money. For example, they don't recommend or refile your service as a standard brake job after diagnosis. They just leave it as 'X' hours of labor and kick you the quote via text or email. Paying out of pocket? Read... Every... Line... In... That... Quote. See anything that doesn't make sense or looks like it costs too much? Ask questions or request a manager. Get a second opinion from outside the company. Do anything but sign it blindly.
A bit of a story... My Hyundai needed service recently and I already had my issue isolated to the brakes. Gateway's appointments were backed up by a month, so I wrote them a summary of what was wrong and booked for 9:20am a month in advance. I dropped my vehicle off the night before so it would be on site in the morning.
In the end, I'll admit that I signed everything instantly like a trusting idiot so the expense is my fault, but my car spent 1.5 business days in their shop for what was quoted as a two hour service. Reading the documentation I received later, I found out that I paid them $731 (Seven Hundred and Thirty One Dollars) to simply clean and grease the glide pins on my brakes. No new parts. Pop the tires off, loosen 8 bolts, pull the pins out, apply some BraKleen, a little brush work, and some grease. Put 'er back together, done. Easy.
A standard brake job at other shops (ie: QuickLube, JiffyLube, Schumacher Goodyear...) runs less than $200 and you get the same service plus all new brake pads.
I left an email for their managers but never received a response beyond two automated "We've received your email and you will hear from us shortly." Lesson learned: It's a great place and their work is quality, but you need to guard your wallet with your life when paying their service department out of pocket. As soon as you sign that paperwork, they take your money and run.
