I would highly recommend this dealer to anyone selling a vehicle out-right. They bought my Jaguar even with me living in the Twin Cities and gave me a very fair price. The entire process was extremely painless and the entire staff was beyond friendly. Our vehicle of 5 years (2016 SUV) ended up needing a new engine, which we weren’t willing to replace. We reached out to Willis and they offered a reasonable trade amount. They were able to get us in a vehicle of our choosing and with the payment being where we needed it to be. The whole transaction was smooth from start to finish. The salesman, Dylan, was very kind and worked with us to make our trade in and purchase a great experience. In addition, the Sales Manager of the Ankeny location was available to help with any additional needs/requests we had while at the location. I would definitely recommend purchasing through Willis.

Service department is great!! So much easier to work with than Lithia. They got me in sooner, had a loaner I could pay for, and offered a valet drop off service. What a fantastic experience. We dealt with Jimi, Brian and Clay at the Waukee location. We live 2 hours away so had to do everything through email, texts and phone calls. They answered all of my questions promptly. We asked if they would hold the vehicle since we lived so far away and had company in town that weekend. Which they happily took a deposit and held it for us. They sent us all the finance worksheets and warranty information to go over, so there were no hidden fees or surprises. The day we went to finish the deal we were in and out in less than 2 hours, including the walk around and test drive. Most of the time was spent chatting with Jimi at the end. I would highly recommend them. They aren't your typical sales people. No fuss, no pressure.

I’ve purchased three cars here and to be honest this last experience created a lifetime customer. My 2nd experience here was awful. To the point where I never wanted to go back. But I got a phone call from Kam with a happy new year and one year anniversary from the purchase of my last car. From that moment on my entire experience with Willis changed. James at Willis was awesome. He communicated well when my vehicle had to leave Willis lot and go to Kia for repair and moved the process along. Willis was great about giving me a loaner during the 5 weeks my car was being repaired. The only downfall of the process was we were charged $100 for what was a Kia issue. Kia covered all of the repair except for the $100 Willis charged us for initially looking at the vehicle. Overall it was a great experience.

Called twice before receiving a call back to schedule appointment. Appointment scheduled 9:20 a week later. Told it would be 1 1/2 hrs. Checked back and they were starting to look at it 2:30. 4:00 notified a different repair needed and left overnight. Took loaner home and waited till after noon next day to have delivered. Ended up with wasting nearly two days of my time to have serviced.

The car I purchased here has been without issue since I bought it. One year after purchasing, Jessi called to make sure I was still satisfied with my purchase (I am) and encouraged me to contact her personally if I have any issues going forward. Not only that, but I've continued scanning listings for vehicles similar to the one I purchased and have not seen a car listed anywhere close to the price point I purchased at - according to CarGurus, this car was sold at "Great Deal" value. I'm definitely going to check out Willis again when I'm looking for my next car, and would encourage anyone else to do so as well.**
Bought a used car from Jessi at Willis. I generally prefer purchasing from private sellers to avoid dealership fees and pressured sales pitches. In this case, they had the car I wanted and I saw they had good reviews. They were kind and reasonable during the purchase process, and Jessi indicated that their used cars are evaluated by their mechanics so they "stand by" their word.
As luck would have it, a very small part inside the door panel broke within 24-hours of the sale - something that could not have been known prior to sale, no matter how thorough the mechanic's inspection. I knew that the car was purchased "As-is," and that Willis was within their right to inform me the part had broken after the sale was final, and was therefore on me. Instead, when I contacted Jessi she immediately had me set up with an appointment in their service center. I was provided a loaner car while the part was being replaced, and they returned the car to me in excellent condition without ever charging me for the service. I can assure you from my experience that when they say they "stand by" the cars they sell, they truly follow through on that promise.
Willis is among the dealerships that refuses to sacrifice integrity and customer service for profit. I'd highly recommend Willis to anyone considering purchasing from them.

First off top notch sales experience! Much praise goes to my sales agent Derek H. Talk about someone who KNOWS how to go above and beyond in customer service. Super communicative and extremely fast at getting answers. It’s refreshing to see someone take such professional pride in their line of work. The car I bought was in pristine condition, you’d never believe it was used. The staff kept the car in showroom condition and detailed beautifully right before picking it up. Great work all around.

Everyone there is always helpful, professional and honest. We take all our cars there, from 2008 Toyota Highlander to 2018 Lexus for all work. They are also a preferred vender for collision insurance work! We have State Farm. This means you take it in once, they do the estimate and start work right away.
I don’t feel pressured to do more work than I feel necessary and don’t get an attitude if you don’t want the new air cabin filter 🤓.

I don't know if you guys let your employees take home vehicles, but this morning someone was driving a black Infiniti SUV, I think it was an QX80, with Willis Auto plates on I235 this morning and he was tailgating me very aggressively, backing off and then speeding up to within an inch of my bumper. He did this multiple times. There was a lot of traffic and it's very difficult to get over when someone is doing this to you, especially in the very curvy part of I235 between MLK and 56th street. Now I was in the fast lane, but I was going 10 over the speed limit and passing cars on my right during rush hour. He did this for several miles. He finally found an opportunity to go around me, even though I was still overcoming vehicles on my right, but he floored it and cut me off and almost rear ended the vehicle I was passing. I happened to end up next to him at the Valley West Drive exit. We were apparently going the same direction, north. As we were driving north on Valley West Drive he was intentionally crowding into my lane and then ran a red light at Swanson Blvd. I would review if this was an employee of yours and if so encourage you to take action. I drive Uber and I had a customer in the car, he drove very unsafe and could've caused a very serious accident and possibly injuring myself and my customer.

Mike at Willis made a terrible situation better! My car was broke into and my purse was stolen. I had a whole smashed back window and dinged up door frame. He was up front with me on the turn time, it was about 3 weeks to get in and fixed, BUT he temporarily taped my window off so no further weather damage happened. He called me when the parts finally arrived- which was really the only delay. I was leaving for a trip for 5 days and he let me drop my vehicle off prior to my trip and picked it up shiny and new when I got back. ZERO HASSLE AND ZERO PROBLEMS!!!! As a matter of fact he was more helpful than my own insurance agent when it came to figuring everything out! 100% will be going back for life!

I’ve had to use them for 4-5 major repairs, the first was an AC not working every summer. It’s worked since Willis fixed it.
I trust Dylan to know how to fix my vehicles and not up charge me.

And with the fact they charge you $299 for a prep detail service the car should be clean enough for the Virgin Mary herself to sit OverAll a good experience and I got the car I wanted

I could not be happier with the service I received from Willis on my Land Rover. They were able to set up a loaner vehicle for me (very nice Volvo) and took great care of my vehicle. I was notified it was covered under warranty (very happy about that) and they kept me updated throughout the process. I NEVER had to call Kevin at Willis, he kept in touch with me via text, which I think is a great way to update customers with status without interrupting my usual hectic work day. Willis on the buy side has been fantastic but we had another problem with service. Our vehicle was scheduled to be picked up by 10:40 am.
We didn’t hear anything until approximately 1:30pm when we received a call apologizing for having to cancel our appointment. I was in shock and asked what she was talking about.
Turned out someone forgot to call me to tell me they didn’t have a loaner and that they had to cancel.
I would have been completely ok with changing our appointment because of the loaner but no one called until 3 hours after my car was supposed to be picked up.
Communication is key. They did locate a loaner and flipped out the loaner later in the afternoon. The work they performed was very good.

Willis Volvo is run by employees who actually care about their customers. I have had the pleasure of working with Austin and Lisa from sales and Steve O in service. Lisa and Steve helped us arrange a repair. I don't know the name of the mechanic who fixed our Volvo but they saved the day. Quick diagnosis of the issue and Willis stocked the part we needed. Due to Covid supply chain issues we bought from an out of state certified Volvo dealership. We were treated like loyal customers of Willis and that is who we will be from now on. I worked with Micah Westrum and Tom Timmerman on the purchase of a used vehicle. They were great to work with! I went in to test drive a specific vehicle and when it turned out to not match my needs they spent the time to have a discussion with me about what was important to me in a vehicle and provided several options for different vehicles that would meet those needs. I always dread shopping for a vehicle because of the typical sales pressure but there was none of that with Micah or Tom. They were able to work around my husband and I's crazy schedules to fit in test drives for a few different vehicles and after two weeks I now have a car that meets my needs that I love. I left a review on cars.com basically saying the buying experience wasn’t “bad” on my most recent purchase there (that salesman was actually pretty good!), but I was disappointed on a safety issue I’m having with the car and how when my other “primary” sales person was notified about it they just said “I’ll make note of it on the file”. What does that even mean? I get it is an “as is”sale, but I guess I hoped for something more than that especially since I have done a bit of business with them over the last couple years. I am also disappointed at the low ball offer on my trade in towards the vehicle I have on order. Maybe they put in the wrong trim level? I have purchased 3 vehicles here, sold 2 vehicles to them and currently have brand new one on order. The dealer’s response was to call them, but the generic number was left with no word on who to actually talk to.
Edit: I would like to edit this review from a 3 star to a 5 as I have spoken to Matt and he handled my concerns and was genuinely a pleasure to speak to both on the phone and in person. Really the way they handled this shows me they really are worthy of my current and future business, as a result I am still purchasing the car I ordered and I would have zero issues with doing business with them in the future. The minute we walked into Willis and met Michael O'Leary we felt comfortable. He spent basically his entire day with us driving several different cars. He was very patient with us and very knowledgeable about all the cars we looked at and drove. We ended up purchasing a 2022 Volvo XC60. After all the papers were signed and the deal was done, we were told that there is an issue with Volvo's software and Android communicating so I unfortunately won't have remote start until they get that worked out. I really feel that this should have been told to us before the deal was done. Not a huge deal, and probably wouldn't have been a deal breaker but we felt duped. We were hoping we wouldn't have that feeling with Willis as we have with previous dealerships. We also found after purchasing vehicle that the bottom of the car was completely packed with road salt. I've never seen anything like it. There's already surface rust forming. We power washed it with hot water and I'm religiously getting car washes with under body wash. I know that this probably isn't Willis's fault. It was likely caused by transporting it but I am afraid of the amount of rust I may have after a year or 2. I think maybe Willis should put the transported vehicles on a lift to make sure they are salt free underneath. All in all, I am very happy so far with my Volvo. Still trying to learn all of its features which are great! I would recommend Willis to friends and family.

I worked with Willis after I contacted them through an online listing for one of their vehicles. Their virtual assistant confirmed my contact information within a few minutes, and I had an appointment set within two hours of them opening up.
I met with Blake Warlop and he was fantastic to work with. He answered my questions, gave me time to consider my options and wasn’t pushy. The Willis dealership is a fairly standard setup and since I was trading in another vehicle and financing, there were a couple hand-offs between people. Blake guided me through the process and checked in regularly.
Jamie handled the financing piece and was friendly and personal in his approach.
Overall, the entire experience took about three hours of my morning, but I ended up with the vehicle I wanted, the options I needed, and an overall pleasant experience.
The Willis campus is fairly large and has several buildings. There was some signage, but it was a little confusing knowing which building to go in when I arrived.

Willis repaired my Tesla 3 after it was rear-ended. The work quality was excellent and Cory got in touch every week or so to give an update. Parts acquisition was very quick (within 2 weeks) and even when a part arrived damaged, they had it replaced and installed quickly. The car even had a full charge when I picked it up! They set me up with a nice rental for the 3 weeks they had the car.
Insurance filing was painless even though the other party was responsible. After my initial call to my insurance, everything else was taken care of for me.
If you own a Tesla (they are currently the only Tesla certified body shop in Iowa), or live in the DSM area, I cannot recommend Willis Collision Center enough. They are awesome!

Top notch service. My ac was not working properly on my Jaguar f pace I made an appointment which fell on my birthday. They asked me if I needed a loner car since I was driving from Cedar Rapids. I said No. I got there a day before my appointment and the morning of my appointment the sales guy (Jack) who sold me the Jaguar called me to wish me happy birthday. I was so shocked that he went above and beyond to do that. During the appointment I changed my mind and wanted a loner car, they did not have one but because it was my birthday and I was checking out of the hotel, they did all they could to find one. Willis Automotive has provided, by far, the best experience I've had with an auto dealership. I've never once purchased a car from Willis, however I've had 2 different vehicles serviced through them. My experience with other dealerships that provide service has always been poor and their pricing way off base. This is just not the case with Willis. Their pricing is on par with other mechanics and Willis is not out to rip you off and suggest services you don't need. They're honest and fair. That's what I appreciate most about Willis.
I previously owned a Mini Cooper that I had serviced through Willis. This was about 5 years ago. I worked with Jeremiah in their service department. He was top notch. A true professional, and always sought solutions to benefit me, the customer, not the dealership. I now own an Infiniti and have been working with Nick. I was a bit disappointed at first because I realized I couldn't work with Jeremiah, but Nick provided the exact same high level customer service as Jeremiah. This consistency with high level customer service solidified my belief that Willis' hiring process is geared towards finding good people that want a good job helping their customers. Willis only wants great people to handle their customers because they want the best for their customers. They aren't looking to pinch customers, or nickel and dime them and provide fake service reps to with a sweet song and dance. Willis seems to put great emphasis on hiring good people and training them with a consistent message of "do right by the customer".
I have referred several people to Willis for service work and they all tell me the same thing. That Willis was great to them and they provided a fair evaluation of the vehicle and didn't try to load on a bunch of unnecessary repairs to increase the bill. They address the problems with a fair and reasonable approach. So to Willis, Jeremiah, and Nick, thank you for your excellent customer service and providing superb experiences each and every time I've used you for service. I will look to Willis in the future for my next car purchase and will always use them for servicing my vehicles.

I have taken my car to Willis Auto 2-3 times since we purchased it Dec of 2018. They are always very prompt and my car is ready when promised.
I would give 5 stars for this last service appt but this time the communication wasn’t as thorough as usual and the service rep was not available when I picked up my car so I was unable to get answers to some of my questions. Also, I requested that all communication come through me and not my husband who was traveling at the time and still messages were all sent to him.
My car’s actual service and repair seem to have gone well. My first 15,000 mile service was more expensive than expected.

Bad and Excellent service rolled into 1 experience. Have a Volvo that I ordered a protective front coating for as well as a custom fit seat cover for the back seat. I called and emailed the parts manager 3 times and couldn't get a response. Fourth try I spoke with a parts person, Ryan, who was very willing to help. Stated they couldn't get the car cover I wanted but when I gave him the Volvo part # he was able to locate it. Was also told 2 times that the protective front coating was a 20-30 minute job so planned for that when I booked the appt. When I checked in there was no mention of time or offer of anything, after an hour I asked a second gentleman in the service area about the car and he said "oh, that's a 2 1/2 hour job minimum." When this second service person saw my frustration with that information he offered a loaner car and delivery of my car to my house by the end of the day. So thanks to Ryan in parts, the gentleman in service, and the nice gentleman who delivered my car for really good experiences.
I think great service is a goal but it isn't quite there yet.

Since purchasing my vehicle in 2015, I have been treated to the best service possible. Don-Patino Hayes is my personal service liaison and he is fabulous. Here's my experience from start to finish:
1. For any servicing reason (emergency or routine) you get a valet who drives to your home, picks up your car, and leaves a loaner. Loaners are always available. Further, you have a tracking app that lets you know when the valets are coming and where they are in the process.
2. Servicing is swift, right the first time, and you're constantly updated on the process.
3. When you go in to pick up your vehicle and pay, my dedicated liaison, Don explains in detail what is happening, knows my car and my usage details inside and out, and talks to me about what may need to happen in the future.
Where possible, Don looks to save me money and is always on top of any coupons or servicing details. He was also instrumental in helping me through my warranty transition.
I've owned many cars in my lifetime and I can truly say that Willis has earned my business for life. I've never had such fast, friendly, attentive service before or since. Use Willis with confidence.

I’m a big believer in providing excellent customer service, especially if you’re in the service industry. So I have to say they provided EXCELLENT customer service. Friendly faces and very polite. They replaced airbags that were recalled and what I had expected to take three to four hours only took them nearly two hours. They even had time to give my vehicle a quick wash, wax and vacuum. I would highly recommend this dealership for a future car purchase and service. Worth the two hour drive I had to make to get the airbags replaced. Wouldn’t think twice if I had to make the drive again for some other issue or concern. Way to go Willis Auto Campus.

Went for an oil change and tire rotation and asked them to check my shocks because I had been hearing a clunk in the rear when going over rough roads. They looked and looked again and determined the clunk was with my trailer hitch and didn't charge me a thing. Most people would be shy to ask a service station to "look for something wrong" but I know Willis and they always do the right thing. The waiting room, as always, was very clean and easy to social distance in. WiFi is high speed so it's easy to get work done while I wait.

Excellent Customer Service. They have Loaner Cars available for your convenience. They also have readily available free shuttle rides to and from the Dealership. They will also do free pick up and delivery of your vehicle anywhere in Iowa I think. You pay more but you get better service. Very friendly and courteous staff. The Lexus Waiting Area is high class. The Infinity and Cadillac Waiting Area is just okay. I wasn't impressed. I guess I'll have to stick with Lexus.

Trying to get some after-market stuff done to my car has been an experience to say the least.
After 4 phone calls and 2 email requests, I had to have my service tech connect me directly to them to talk. Accessories sales manager told me to bring it by a certain day and ask for him. Brought it in when scheduled, and he was nowhere to be found. Another accessories tech there that does not even do quoting or inspections for quotes took pics of the car and got my information for what I wanted and would give to their sales people to call me back later in the day. 4 days later and still no phone call. This has been ongoing for about 4 weeks, now, and I'm still no closer to getting it done.
If you wanna get aftermarket work done on a vehicle at Willis Automotive, you're probably better off taking it elsewhere because their accessories people are terrible at customer service!! Disappointed, especially after a superb vehicle purchase and service process, thus far.

Willis has been great! The buying experience was top notch and service was equally as good. I really like their service vallet option. I recently had some repairs done to my car due to hitting a deer. The staff were awesome throughout the whole process! And the work they did on my car made it look like brand new! I expected to be able to still see some sort of evidence of the damage that had been done to my car, but there isn't a thing to be noticed! The service on the vehicle was great, my only complaint was the courtesy shuttle. I was shuttled back to my house for the service and picked back up. The shuttle was timely and fine, except neither driver wore a mask. This made me uncomfortable in a closed environment with recirculating air. I wore a mask and feel that masks should be worn in our current environment to protect customers as well as Willis employees.

Willis is consistently the best. I have been a loyal customer for 33 years. The focus on customer service is second to none. My third Range Rover delivery took place last week. I was treated like I was a brand new first time customer. The orientation was exceptional and my questions were answered with a cogent response as opposed to “Let me get back to you.” There is never any high pressure - instead the buying/leasing experience is pleasant and one comes away with the distinct impression that it is always the customer first, not the dealership.

Checked it out on the website and they provided more then enough information for me to decide to go take it for a test drive. When I brought in my vehicle for it’s first oil change, I was immediately informed that the shuttle was running behind. I was given a loaner vehicle (at no charge) and told I would receive a text to let me know when my vehicle was done. I received the text a couple hours later. When I arrived at the dealership, my car was washed & ready to go! I have been a customer at Willis for eight years. First with Volvo and now with Land Rover. This is the FIRST time I have been extremely happy with service, beginning to end. Not sure what has changed, but whatever it is, keep it up!!!

The ease of having my Mini serviced thru Willis is one of the reasons I made my purchase there. I've wanted a Mini for awhile but getting regular service would be difficult as I live 3 hours from any dealer. I happened to be in Des Moines and purposely stopped by. They told me about their valet service and within 3 months I found and purchased my Mini there.
Now, when it's time for service, I make a call, set up the date and go about my business. The valet comes to my workplace, picks up my car & leaves me a nice loaner. When service is complete, they return my car. I'll remind you, I live/work 3 hours away from them!

Second oil change on my Volvo XC90. Checked the website for an appointment not knowing that they would pick my vehicle up, provide a loaner and bring my vehicle back. Never had this kind of service before so I signed up. I live 2 hours one way from Des Moines. The driver arrived on time, we exchanged keys and he was on his way. I was kept informed of their arrival by text as well as where my vehicle was in the repair process. They promptly returned my vehicle the next day w/o issues. I don't expect this kind of service, but WOW I was impressed at the professionalism, communication and outcome. I plan to do it again for my next oil change. I would highly recommend taking advantage of this service.

I live an hour away from Willis. A problem came up and I was a half hour late for my appointment. In addition, I showed up at the wrong building. One of the guys from the Lexus building jumped in and directed me to the Cadillac building. then had to walk back. I was just there for an oil/filter change and tire rotation. The technician checking me in noticed the ABS trouble indicator was lit on my dash. He asked about fixing that problem too. Sure! Turns out it was still under warranty. They were busy and were fitting me in (because of the lateness), but still accomplished everything in a timely manner. During my time in the comfortable waiting room, they came and kept me informed on how it was going and the time left to finish. Overall, I was completely satisfied with the whole procedure and impressed by their professional bearing and friendly attitude. I will be sure to return to Willis for future service.

I love working with Willis because they make things so convenient. When it's time for an oil change, they come out to my workplace, drive my Mini back to Willis, do the oil change, fill the windshield wiper fluid, etc., and deliver the car back to me at work, complete with a fresh car wash. I am pretty sure this last time someone even vacuumed the two front floor mats! This is all free maintenance which is included in my lease. It is so great not to have to spend my Saturday afternoon or something, sitting at a dealership while I wait for my oil to be changed. Thank you, Willis!

I took my new car in to have a clear bra put on. Since I would be at work I left it for the day. The facility is clean and professional looking. Scheduling an appointment was easy and straight forward. As for the workmanship the bra was installed satisfactorily.
My knock on the rating is how the vehicle was returned. It's a manual transmission sports car and has a six way manual adjustable seat. Every setting was changed on the seat, the transmission has a setting for synchronization (I have it off, it's turned on). The car only had to travel 15 feet to be worked on. It shouldn't be out of 1st gear, nor would it require drastic changes in the seating for someone who is 6' 4" My best guess is some big guy wanted to see if he could fit in the car. This is NOT a demo car, a loaner, etc. If you want to find out. Go see the dealership and stay out of my car!

Last Friday I was visiting in Grinnell and my car battery died. When I finally got it jump-started, I drove directly to Willis Auto. Although I didn't have an appointment, Quentin Downing and the service team worked me in and got a new battery installed. Bonus 1: they also washed my car!
Bonus 2: since it was lunch time and they were working me in, I asked if there was a nearby restaurant. Quentin gave me a good recommendation, just across the street, and it was a delightful way to pass the short time it took to replace the car battery. Just did business with Willis Auto yesterday and I had a great experience with them. They treated me like I was gold the whole time I was there, from the time I walked in to the door and left in my new SUV. Glad I tried this place and we will be back when my wife needs a new auto. The only bad thing I can say is when I was signing the loan papers, I noticed they charge a fee for document preparation, maybe all dealers do this so I am not going to hold it against them but I would think that's just part of getting a new car.. filling out paperwork and don't think the customer should be charged for that.

When I dropped off my vehicle, the service adviser said "yes that is true once we get it inside. We are short staffed so it may not happen until tomorrow". The service I got during this routine visit was very good I did not wait one second to be greeted. My service rep informed me that, since I had bought my tires from Willis, I would get free rotation I wasn't aware of, which pleased me very much. Of course, my car was washed and shining when they were finished.
The team delivered my car to my home when it was done. My only complaint is that I had requested my car be brought to me no later than 4:30, but was after 5:30 when my car was delivered, and I had to be someplace by 5:45! That was a bit nerve-wracking. Otherwise, it was a great experience.

Purchased a new Discovery today and couldn't be more pleased. My salesman (Todd Speck) was attentive without the insistence you sometimes receive. My trade was fairly valued and they presented an offer that was perfectly aligned with what I wanted to spend. Their delivery specialist (Kurt Larson) gave me an overview of the car that was quick, but thorough. Not once during my drive home did I have the "What the hell does this do?" moment I've had in previous vehicles. Took my Pathfinder in for the first oil change. I wasn't sure where I was supposed to take it as there are several options on the Willis Campus. I'm certain my reminder did in fact tell me, but not paying close enough attention is sometimes who I am as a person. I chose wrong, but a staff member hopped in my car with me and pointed the way to the correct service center. Wait was approximately 45 minutes AND they washed my car. It needed it. I had the pleasure of working with Jerrah, she was wonderful. I had work done to my car and a cleaning called the “Silver Spa” that I purchased around Christmas for 149.16, I wasn’t able to find this package on the Willis website to see what services I purchased, but what I received wasn’t what I thought I purchased. I received a quick vacuum job, the windows were cleaned but they missed the top of all side windows, the cup holders and the area around it along with the seats were not touched. I was very disappointed. I sent Jerrah a picture of the cup holder area and she told me the time she got off work and if I wanted I could bring it to her and she would clean the areas that were missed. I hope Willis knows what an amazing employee they have!

We had a very positive experience with our last visit to Willis Auto Campus, on October 30, 2015. We were able to take care of four different items in one trip, which is important to us since we live in another town, almost 40 miles from the Willis dealership.
We had previously received an email informing us that there was a sub-instrument cluster update available for our XTS. Also, our monthly On-Star email mentioned our car was ready for a cabin air filter change. We had also earlier received a $100 offer for a VISA debit card if we test drove a new XTS. Since we were interested in all three of these items, we made an appointment to take care of them. When we arrived, our service advisor said that they would also change the oil and rotate the tires while we were there. Normally the oil life has to be below 15% before a complimentary oil change is available; but since it hadn't been changed since April, they would include it at no charge.
We had a very pleasant test drive with the sales representative and, when it was finished, we just had to wait a few minutes for the completion of the service items.
In my opinion, this service experience was truly exceptional.

UPDATE: Willis has reached out to me and they have since repainted my hood and replaced the air filters. Everything looks the way it should. It may have taken more trips there then I would have liked but all in all they did make things right.
My experience with Willis has been awful. The used vehicle I bought needed an alignment which they said they would have taken care of while I was having a cilajet treatment done to the car ($1000 paint seal and treatment) that I purchased when buying the vehicle a week earlier. After being “taken care of” the alignment was still off and I had it done another shop I have always used.
The cilajet treatment is supposed to buff away scratches and imperfections as well as a paint correction. My hood was smooth and clean when I gave them the car for the treatment and when it was returned there was a big ding on my hood that was rough and deep in the paint. This was not there when I gave them my car. The $1000 treatment made my car look worse than when I bought it. Along with the paint damage, there was still soap compound on the headlights and car. I needed to wipe my entire exterior down with microfiber towels, including my smudged windows. The chrome trim now has spots on it that won’t come off. The interior was also dirty with dirty water spots on my center console as well as navigation screen. I called and spoke with the detail manager and was told that he knew exactly what had happened to the hood. the touch up paint had come up during the treatment and they should have caught it. He assured me they would fix it.
I brought it back in while I was on vacation for 4 days. I had never heard a word from them regarding my car my whole trip. When I landed in Des Moines I called the dealership and they had no record of my car being there, even though I had received reminder emails about my upcoming appt before we left for vacation. After arriving at Willis, we waited 45 minutes (with all our luggage) because they couldn’t find any paperwork or my keys. Finally after finding my keys, they pulled my car around and the spot on the hood was still there although it did look a tiny bit better. I spoke with my salesman before leaving about it not being right and he gave me the contact for another manager.
This manager told me to bring it in and they would get it taken care of. Again the spot is still there and they said they have done the best can but if I wanted to pay $400 to repaint the entire hood. At this point I laughed because the spot was not there when I purchased the vehicle, only after I had gotten it back from the initial $1000 paint treatment. What a scam.
I also opened up my hood while cleaning the vehicle and pulled out my air filters. They are caked in dead bugs, dirt and grime. I brought this to their attention when they had my car for 4th time getting the hood “taken care of” and the man receiving my car was surprised and said those should have been replaced. But when they called me to talk about what it would cost ME to repaint the hood they also said that the filters must have been good enough to pass their tedious 165 point inspection. If these pass as good for their standards, it scares me what else is “good enough” before they go to sell vehicles to people paying with hard earned money. All in all, the lack of attention to detail is astonishing. The car buying experience was great but everything after has been nothing but a nightmare.

First ever review. I went one day to Willis Auto Campus on a Saturday. The dealership was closing and this one Salesman Austin approached me and asked for my number and said that he will send me some cars info to look into. For the next few weeks the guy just called me once a week to ask me if I have time to come in. Almost every time I told him I was not available but I need to buy a car.
Few weeks later my brother wanted to buy a car. He went to BMW dealership and we did not like the way we were treated. So we came out and I told my brother to check out Willis Auto Campus. I unannounced went to Willis Auto Campus. I asked for Austin and there he was ready for us. He gave us the pretty much best service ever. My brother who is a very picky person actually said that the Austin is a great guy and a big help. He walked us through the process and 1 hour later we walked out with brand new 2017 jaguar XF. Austin really is an example of a great and true Salesman who is not just out there to sell a car. He lets you take your time and works with you and works for you......Really impressed

We had a tire blow out and were getting ready to change it, he happened to be driving by going to change out a tire for someone else (who probably hit the same hole). He stopped and had it changed out in 60 seconds flat...this would have taken us exponentially longer. Based on this experience in which the tech helped us out just because it was the right thing to do, I am going to try to shift some of our commercial vehicle work over to them. I bought my Mini in 2011 from Willis Mini Auto and have taken it there for service ever since. Usually, in these reviews, I am singing the praises of service manager Jeremiah. And , yes, he handed me my keys and got me on my way this time as well -- someone else also impressed me.
I live an hour and thirty minutes north of Mini. I was driving home and got a flat 40 minutes from home. I called Mini at 4:30pm insisting on talking to a car person. I ended up talking to Walker who managed Mini service and remembered me from 2011 even though he works a whole different area now. He confirmed my snow tires weren't run flat. He quickly got a tow truck sent out and set up people to follow up with me the next day . This was after he offered a loaner but I was ok without one.
People did follow up with me and the only problem was locating a matching snow tire in February.

All my Volvo needed was to have a new key fob programmed. Instead of keeping me waiting, as I had a chore in a city some miles away, they loaned me a car to use. When the work on my Volvo was finished they sent me a text letting me know that. When I got back to Willis my car had been thoroughly washed and inspected, with a list of suggested things I might consider. One of the things involved some engine work. I've been using Willis - Mini of Des Moines service for over five years and have had virtually no complaints. I can call and book and appointment and Willis will send a driver out with a loaner car to pick up my car 120 miles away for the reasonable sum of $10. My Mini seems to run better after they perform an oil change, and they always wash the exterior and vacuum the interior before they return it to me. After trying other service providers in Cedar Rapids, the only place I'll take my car is Mini of Des Moines. Willis does a great job.

Dillon told us the car would be ready in 45 minutes to an hour, it was 45 minutes on the button.

People were very friendly. I found my car online and had prompt help. I feel I paid a fair price for the used car I bought. My one complaint is their Add-on charges. No add-on chargers were ever discussed or revealed up front while working with the online salesperson. When I did get to the lot and saw the window sticker it stated a $199 additional charge for door guards. These guards can be purchased on Amazon for a fraction of that charge. After negotiating a buying price, then they add a $180 document fee and a $199 detailing fee. Really?? Isn't cleaning and detailing a car to sell part of the expected process for a business selling cars?? I'm happy with my car, but these charges seemed to be gouging to me. Left a bad taste in my mouth leaving there. BEWARE OF ADD-ON FEES!!

I've always had a good experience with this dealership. Their customer service is excellent, second to none. They helped me quite a bit with my Infiniti G35, though I didn't buy it from them. I loved driving that car but it had mechanical problems at 80K. I got rid of it and drove a Honda for 1.5year. Nothing wrong with the car, but I just really missed the service that Willis has. Overall, satisfied with my experience. There were some hiccups, but in the end, I ended up with a great Jag for a very good price.
As for the pros of the experience. They did very well to make me feel welcome, asking if I needed anything and pointing me to the wait area that had the most amazing coffee drink machine I've ever seen. Coffee, lattes, espressos, you name it. What confused me was that this machine had to cost over $1,000 easily, yet for snacks they had animal crackers and trail mix similar to those in vending machines. Guess they spent the whole budget on the coffee machine. That is just funny to me. Anyway, I came in already with financing at a great rate, yet they managed to get me a better rate with the same bank. Very pleased with that. The signing process was also very painless and we got through it in maybe 15-20 minutes.
Now, I'll go through the cons of my experience. This section is much longer, but not because there were more things that went wrong. I just wanted to be detailed so they could improve on these items. First, when I arrived, the car that I had set an appointment to go see and most likely buy was not ready upon arrival. These guys present themselves as very professional, suits and all, but having the car ready when someone goes and sets up an appointment is a basic-level detail of service that this dealership should easily have gotten right yet they didn't. Secondly, was the post-sale titling process. They gave me an in-transit plate for 15 days so I could have time to register the car in my state. Ok, no problem. The issue was that I had to call two different times to inquire about when the documentation that I needed to register my vehicle would be sent. On the first call, about 6 days post-sale, they told me it was in process and they would call me soon to notify me that they were going to send it overnight. Waited a week, no phone call, so I called back. They gathered all the docs during the phone call and finally sent over the documents. I received them finally on the 14th day of the 15 day plate period. I don't know if I would've received them in time had I not made contact with them. I was still not, however, able to register in time, and this is due to my third issue that could have been easily avoided as well. The car had a set of summer tires on it, but the dealership chose to not mention it to me ahead of time. For people that don't know, summer tires get super hard and slick in freezing temperatures (under 32 degrees). What happened on the 13th day? Four inches of snow, and 0 degree temperature. I found out the hard way about the summer tires. I somehow managed to drive two miles from my home on my way to work until I reached a road that was slightly uphill. I could not make it up the hill due to sliding and loss of traction from the tires. I actually started sliding back downhill instead. Luckily, there was not any major traffic at the time or I might have gotten in an accident with another vehicle. I had to leave my car in a nearby parking lot for three days until today when the temperatures softened the tires enough to move the vehicle, 16 days post-sale. Again, all these issues could have been avoided if they paid more attention to the simple things. The tire situation is not as simple, but should be kept track of considering the dealership is in the Midwest where freezing cold temperatures and nasty winter weather is prevalent. Additionally because they portray themselves as a high-tier dealership, yet they are failing to accomplish some of the basic dealership customer services. They could have also filled the tank up before turning over the keys. I just bought a car from them, while having to drive four hours to do so, the least they could do is fill the tank. I've had cars that I've bought at way less flashy dealerships be turned over to me with full gas tanks.
Again, overall, I'm happy with my experience. I had been searching a long time for a car that checked all my boxes and I found it. Was my experience perfect? No, but the positives outweighed the negatives.

I'm a regular customer of Willis. Not impressed with service this time. Tues. 1/14/2020 I went to leave work. The car would start, but would not get out of park. I left it there overnight. Car had multiple warnings popping up,. At my work, they tested the battery and cleaned the posts. Still, wonky messages. I called Kevin in Service and had to leave a message. He did not return the call. I called him the next day and said that I had googled the trouble -- that it was likely the battery (Land Rover Lr2) ...I had the battery looked at at my work and they said it was fine, but the dash was still showing all kinds of errors. Without ever talking to Kevin, I made an appointment to bring the car in and in enough time he could have a loaner ready for me. We did call and I told him what was going on. Because the dash was going wonky and the speedometer wasn't working AND the tach was running at 3.5 - 4k, I went slow so was a little late. That would have given him plenty of time to line up a loaner. Nope! I got there and he didn't have one ready for me. he also asked me about having the battery jumped. I never had it jumped and never said I had had it jumped. Ok. This was Wednesday, 1/14/2020. I called Thursday for an update. He stammered around and said he hadn't even run diagnostics on it yet. Friday afternoon - it was really snowy and cold out - he called and said it was ... wait for it .... the BATTERY! So, he said it would be $300 to replace it! I asked if there was another option ... he said yes, for $160. I took that one. Had I not asked, he would not have offered and taken me for a bit of a financial ride. His communication was less that good. Finally, Thursday, 1/23/2020 I got my car back. They lost the rubber cover on my key fob - I called about it, no call back so far. I just ordered one from Amazon. To heck with Willis.

Started talking to Ryan about a vehicle they had listed on Autotrader (I'm an out-of-state buyer), after talking to Kortney for a little while. Both were extremely courteous and attentive, and excelled at getting back to me in a timely manner, and in answering all my questions satisfactorily. They even coordinated with a local dealership to get the car inspected (at my cost). Unfortunately, the inspection revealed a needed repair which Willis wasn't willing to cover (hence the knocked-off star), so the deal fell through. However, I don't feel the experience was at all a waste, and I would be more than happy to deal with this group again were another vehicle I was interested in to end up in their inventory.

Highly recommend you take any used car from willis automotive to a mechanic to have it inspected before purchasing. Our 3 year old van had break pads wore down to 4% and already need to be replaced. Buying from Willis is just like buying from a private party. They are more interested in the bottom line than their customers. It's business, just be smart and have the vehicle inspected first or buy certified pre-owned from another dealer.

Went in for a free oil change, and then agreed to tire rotation and balance quoted for $80. At pick up was charged $93, which included tax plus $8.14 for "shop supplies." After I drove away there was an error message that all four tires were underinflated. It took two more trips back to the shop, plus several phone calls, to get that corrected. On the plus side, they did wash the car.

I think the car buying process through Willis was good, I wasn't buying a brand new car, was looking at some of their fleet cars. However, a month later, still waiting on a 2nd set of keys that I was told they were ordering. Also, the car must have had a blown tire at some point, as there was one new directional tire on one of the front wheels, and paint coming off the fender. I was told the tire was the same size, which I would assume it is, however, if it's only new tire among the other ones, its going to have different tread and ride differently, plus can only put it on one side when rotate tires. Their website had 12 fleet cars listed for sale, but was only able to see 2-3 of those 12 cars. Have to bring the car in to have the paint at the bottom fender touched up, so will see how that goes and hopefully no unanticipated costs and good communication.

I've been bringing my 2009 Clubman to Mini of Des Moines (A Willis Dealership). The staff is very friendly, will work hard to make you comfortable while visiting. I can schedule service over the phone, a driver will come get my car in Cedar Rapids and leave me a loaner while mine is being serviced, and then return my car for a $10 service fee (plus the cost of the maintenance). I've tried local shops, but it always seems to run better when Mini of Des Moines does the work. The only reason I still have this car is because of the folks at the Willis Auto Campus. Great Job!

Amazing! We bought a very inexpensive car from them.. In fact we're not even sure why they had it on their lot because a Ford Fiesta just isn't in the same category if you know what I mean... despite that we were still treated with the same courtesy and respect. The paint job Willis did on my truck looks better than factory. You can't see any "orange peel" in the paint. I got the truck back with a full detail job looking and feeling brand new. Josh Romick and his team in the collision center did a great job!

When I booked the appointment, I wasn't told until I checked in that my car would be there overnight and there would be a $10 fee for a loaner car. The next day when my car was delivered to my house, it was 45 minutes past the agreed upon time. All appears to be good with the work performed, but these small things are annoying and leave me with the feeling that I'm not a valued customer.

We had to take our Volvo in after our check engine light came on driving from Portland OR to Des Moines for RAGBRAI. Called and dropped off the car on the Sunday morning for service on Wednesday. Got a call on Monday to say they were looking at the vehicle as it was from out of state. The work was all done under warranty which we didn't even know we had. They called and said it needed an oil change soon and would we like that done at the same time. I said yes and they said they would deliver the vehicle to the end town of the ride if we wanted(Muscatine IA which is about 3 hours from Des Moines). Needless to say we said yes. They cleaned it inside and out, did a full service not just an oil change and delivered it miles away from where we dropped it for a ver very good price. I would highly recommend this place.

I can't save enough about the whole process they are in Des Moines Iowa and I live in Champlin Minnesota everything went smooth the car was delivered to me at the time requested,the trade in I sent pictures my Vehicle they gave me a reasonable price .
