My wife and I decided to purchase a new car and we live in the Decatur area. After an exhausting search everywhere we ended up at Shottenkirk Honda in Decatur Al. The salesman Mr. Jason Propes was great to work with ! The finance manager and the whole team was also great and easy to understand and work with. If anyone is looking to buy a car and wants a hassle free easy experience I recommend visiting this dealership.

Literally the best dealership me and my husband have ever been to. Everyone there is so nice and helpful! They try to work with you as much as they can. Me and my husband have been to several dealerships throughout the years, and this one was literally the best. They actually care and really try to help. I recently purchased a 2018 Jeep Compass, I was assisted by Chandler, Kelsey & Ben (the GM). From the very beginning they were extremely helpful and did everything they could to ensure my happiness. There were a few minor problems during the process but they were quick on their feet and worked tirelessly to make everything right! This is a great team to do business with. I visited many different lots while car shopping and there isn’t one that can compare to Honda and the people they have working for them. I am truly grateful !

Had called about a vehicle online to come test drive a week ago and asked if they were willing to come off the price advertised. Was informed by the dealership representative they they had room to work and would work out a better price for me. I asked asked for their bottom dollar price out the door and they informed they would speak with their sales manager to get back to me before I drive an hour to come test drive. It has been a week and no one calls or follows up. Was ready to come test drive and potentially buy a vehicle this week, shocked this dealership simply just didn’t put in the effort to call a prospective buyer back with the out the door cost. Plenty of vehicles for sale in the market and test driving some other options now.

I did a little online shopping to see what was out there. Got a call from Honda. Went in to meet with Gage. I told him what I was looking for and what payment range I was able to stay in. I think it's safe to say home buying and car shopping isn't anyone's favorite thing to do. He showed me the first car and it was what I told him I was looking for but I didn't like it. He asked what I didn't like then brought me EXACTLY what I was looking for. We then looked at the color options we had then went in to talk numbers. The fun part (NOT). Since we already spoke about what I was able to do this part was pretty painless. He worked with his team to get me where I needed to be. After that I worked with the young lady in finance and she was lovely too. I'm not going to lie sometimes it can be intimidating as a woman going into these places but I didn't feel that way at all. Great staff and an overall great experience.

September 26th, took to dealer for air bag recall on my Honda Insight. Asked the service department (dealer) to look at the AC while there. Recieved an estimate, we wanted to think about it, so we took it back home. We decided we wanted it fixed, and was told to bring in Monday (September 26). Here is the review: communication is a big issue for the dealership service department. We were contacted 3 times in the 3 weeks it was there. I called so many times both the receptionist (Michelle- great job) and I recognized each other by voice. Every time but 2 we were sent to voice mail (not michelles fault, she tried) without a call back except for 2 times, not including the "your car is ready" call. We were very frustrated, after 3 round trips to get car. The last time we called, we asked for corporate. This time a lovely helpful man(Chris Farmer) went to the service department himself to get "hands on" with the car, and FINALLY the AC was fixed. So 2 commendations; Chase Rawlings, the service writer who took our car the last visit, was EXTREMELY helpful, courteous, apologetic although he wasn't our origional service writer, and best of all he didn't run when he saw us! Chris Farmer who communicated with us regularly AND who was willing to go that extra mile to make sure the car was fixed, once and for all. I am now happily ensconced in an Air Conditioned car, which is a blessing in the deep south. Chase and Chris should get 5 stars themselves, but previous to them dealer was only 2 stars.

I love Service Adviser Ben! I know I can trust what he tells me and that he won't attempt to con me into spending money on services I don't need. He researches my vehicle's history and takes the time to explain what I need using plain English. That being said I do not have the same warm fuzzy feelings for Service Adviser Scott. Without doing any due diligence using the computer sitting right on his desk, he advised me to have the timing belt (and numerous other items) replaced on my 2013 Pilot. He explained that the belt should have been replaced at 105K miles (I currently have slightly more than 118K). However, had he taken just a few extra seconds to look at my vehicle's service records which are on his computer, he would have realized that I had the timing belt replaced less than two years ago when the vehicle had about 101K miles. He told me I could spend $1600 now or $6800 when the belt breaks and wrecks the engine. Once again, he never bothered to check his own records before employing this particular scare tactic. I understand that a broken timing belt could have been a very real possibility -- if I hadn't already had it replaced AT THIS DEALERSHIP -- but his attempt to upsell or rip me off simply because he can is archaic, demeaning and totally unacceptable. Service Advisers like Scott are the reason people tend to distrust them. These are my opinions -- albeit based on facts -- but I'll step down off my soapbox now. Thank you.

Aubrey Mayfield was our service advisor and he was FABULOUS in helping us get a new tire mounted, balanced as well as having our computer system reset in order to get us back on the road for our 7 hour drive home. GREAT service, fast, friendly, kind, knowledgable etc. Aubrey called our Honda dealer (Leta) in STL to confirm our road hazard coverage etc and matched our current set of Michelin Tires. He even told us we could keep our luggage and bird, Peaches in the playroom at the dealer where she was warm and happy!! THANK YOU Aubrey!! AAA+++

My husband has been on the hunt for a ram truck and found one here at Decatur. We're 2 hours south and had the truck put on hold until the next day that we we're able to drive up. I'm never going to any other dealership. Mike Morgan took stellar care of me from my first call until even after I drove off the lot. I get the distinct feeling that they don't really care about selling you the <shiniest/fanciest/most upgrades/fastest/priciest/newest/oldest> car on the lot, or even any car if there's not a match. I had a great experience at Honda of Decatur. Bobby was my salesman, he was professional and honest. I had already looked at a couple of places and had some prices but those dealerships had the typical high pressure sales tactics. I asked Bobby if he could beat them, he called me back quickly and had the others beat by $1500 out the door. When I got there I never felt pressured and what Bobby told me over the phone is exactly what they did when I got there, no tricks or extra fees. I would recommend them to anybody and I will be back when I need another vehicle.

I am absolutely floored on how professional, kind and reasonably priced this Honda dealership is! From the amazing desk receptionists that answered my phone calls ( wish i remembered her name, ill update this when find out ) as well as the staff that greeted me as soon as I came in for my car recall work that needs to be done. The gentleman that helped me was/is Ben Thrasher. Since my work is covered because it is a recall issue. I honestly expected to be put last and not really valued as a guest/customer since I didn't purchase my car from this dealership and that was definitely NOT the case! So polite and respectful. I recently purchased a used Honda at Honda of Decatur. The sales representative was very nice and courteous, and the experience of buying a vehicle was easy and straightforward. Overall very enjoyable. I chose to subtract some from the rating because after I purchased the car, I only received one key to it. They would charge over $100 to have a second one made there, and they would not even give me a discount on a second key after I asked. I expected to receive at least 2 keys to a car (especially a used one of their own brand), and I was disappointed.

My wife and I had been looking for a used vehicle for awhile now. We finally came across a Toyota Prius V that Honda of Decatur had online. I submitted interest and received contact not long after (within a couple hours, definitely same day). I spoke with Elmer (his email will show up as Mike Smith but he goes by Elmer), who helped me along the process the entire way. We went out and looked at the car the same day and did a test drive. We wanted to sit on it overnight and instead of being pressured any further, Elmer was ok with this. We knew if anyone else came and got the car the next morning, we were out of luck but the reasonable thing to do was to talk about it over night and sleep on it, ensuring we got what we wanted. No pressure at all from Elmer. In fact this non pressuring really helped make us feel comfortable in going back to the dealer the next day after confirming to ourselves this is the car we wanted. I had contact with Elmer throughout the day letting him know when we'd be by and he was quick to reply every time, even with answers to previous questions. The paperwork process was painless (minus a lot of signing documents, heh) and the on site Redstone agent was also very easy to work with as we finished everything up. A great experience and definitely a place we'll probably look first at when the time comes to replace our other aging vehicle.

Scott Bobo came right out, saw that I had a flat, and took the car right in to see if the flat was fixable. Then he had a driver to drive my Mother and me to the funeral while the flat was fixed. When we returned, the car was immediately brought to us, the car had been washed, the flat repaired.
