I’d spent over an hour trying to get to talk w/ a real person at Safelite for a quote and gave up.
We needed a windshield in our 2021Outback replaced. When I called Rimrock Subaru in Billings they had one in stock, so all we had to do was pick a convenient date/time. The service was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Because it would take several hours they gave us a loaner car. We had lunch with friends in Billings and shopped. I’d highly recommend them.

Rimrock Subaru Service Department was great! They kept our car for the week while we were on vacation and even gave us shuttle rides to our hotel and picked us up from the airport. Overall a great experience. Although there was some staff turnover between the time a deal was made and the vehicle arrived all went very well. Desiree was very patient with me while we confirmed everything and was wonderful to work with. Cole was the salesmen who worked with us and went above and beyond including picking us up at the airport. He was very friendly, product savy and fun to work with throughout the process. I'd certainly give them a thumbs up and wouldn't hesitate to go to Rimrock again.

Jesse King, our dealership representative, was always very helpful, friendly and a pleasure to work with. He greeted us with a smile and firm handshake. He was always ready to answer questions, and thoroughly explained things in an easy to understand way.
He also went out of his way so I could drive a Forester. There were none on the lot, so he had his wife bring their 2022 Forester to the dealership so I could drive it and look it over. That definitely showed me how much he wanted to help me see/experience the Forester.

The service was quick. Check in and check out was flawless. I asked to have my front windows checked. The person looked at them and they were working at that time so he said they were fine. After I left they did not work again. I was not happy that something more was done. My son looked at the windows and determined that I need a new switch. Something I am sure they could have figured out if they would have checked them while int he shop.

I walked in for an oil change (per the online info) and was told it was a three hour wait, so they offered to make me an appointment later in the week. Upon my return, the office staff was friendly, took my vehicle immediately back and the vehicle was completed at the estimated time for the estimated price. Oil change/lights changed quickly and professionally. Thought I MIGHT need new tires. Jesse (sp?) in repair told me I had a good amount of time on them to keep me safe. Didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need.

Update: they were able to get me in for a battery change on the morning temperatures dipped to -10. These folks are great.

I have been to this dealership 3 times now. Before rimrock I was having an issue with my power steering pump that I had been complaining about for years and no other dealership would help me out or fix the problem. I mentioned it to rimrock and they identified that it was already bad and needed to be replaced. They fixed my issue and have been a tremendously helpful dealership. As long as I live where I do they will be the only place that will be allowed to touch my car.

Initial service was prompt. I was very disappointed when we had to return to get a problem corrected and the tech gave a totally false assessment "that's the way it is supposed to be." I understand that sometimes things don't go right the first timemy disappointment was with the Tech's response. It was directly contrary to what is in the Subaru owner's manual.

Probably an ok place to take your Subaru but they are almost impossible to contact for an appointment or update. Says they are all busy but when we were to there, we were the only ones . Nice enough people and the did get the job done but it took me 3 tries to get anyone to call back.

I was pleasantly surprised by the customer focus of this dealership!
Trey was our sales person. He was knowledgeable and very friendly. No pressure to buy anything, but allowed us to ask plenty of questions.
Following our purchase there were a few issues that came up with the used vehicle minutes after I left the car lot.
Trey shared our concerns with the service department and management. The service department (Shawn) looked over the vehicle and diagnosed the issues promptly.
The dealership manager offered to take care of the needs for the car.
Process is still underway but I am impressed with the service thus far. There was definitely great team work by this dealership. From sales, finance, service department and team leadership, all on the same page in trying to take care of the customer.
I wish more dealerships focused on happy customers like this dealership has done for us thus far.
I will visit this dealership again in the future!

We purchased our Subaru Ascent from Rimrock Subaru in 2019. I’ve been back and forth about using their service department. I’ve had mostly good experiences with a couple of minor delays for warranty parts and oil changes that are a little bit longer than expected.
I got the oil changed and got home to find the engine compartment smoking. I figured it was spilled oil. I was able to confirm that with Jesse from service who checked with the tech.
They also took a second look to confirm my assumption.
I appreciate that they acknowledged the issue, were responsive and willing to take a second look. I’ll go back because of this.

Service was pleasant, polite and willing to answer any questions. Main complaint is how they charge their customers for their labor. I went for an oil change along with some other routine maintenance, didn't find out my $200 visit would turn into $500 until after it was complete. Even though the visit only took an hour, they charge labor for each individual service done. That means i got charged for nearly 2 hours of labor, an extra $120, even with the visit only being an hour long.

We were on a weeks long trip to Yellowstone when we realized that we had lost our brake lights and as it turns out - the brakes - on our teardrop camper which we were towing with our 2021 Outback Turbo. We were essentially stranded and couldn't continue safely until the problem was corrected.
Rimrock saved our vacation. They took our car right in and found the issue - we had hit something and severed all but the ground wire in the wiring connecting the car to the trailer. We had no brakes on the trailer as we feared, and we were about to go into the Rockies - YIKES! They replaced all the faulty parts making it better than it had been when new. We are so very grateful!
In addition, these are the nicest people we encountered on our journey. Jenn showed us photos (as she worked) of her beautiful horse dressed in his Christmas leggings and bells and told us stories about him while we waited. Scooter, the service manager, took special interest in the repair, and the sales head came out to see our new T@b teardrop and ask questions so he could better advise their customers about the Outback and towing a camper. Our local dealership could learn a lot from RimRock Subaru. There isn't a better run Subaru service department anywhere. I sure wish we had them nearer to Raleigh, NC!

Very impressed with the high level of attention to customer needs. We broke down in South Dakota on vacation and needed to get home. After a week of waiting the local dealer finally investigated the issue but then would not begin the necessary repairs until late the following week, even though we were 1000 miles from home. After calling Rimrock Subaru, the assured me if we could get there, they had the parts and would find a way to fit us in and get us on our way. We took the risk and made the drive without too much issue. They got it in and their repair tech was even going to stay late to finish up. We told them to let him go home and we would just stay another night in a hotel and leave the next day. We drove home over the next 2 days with a much quieter vehicle and I was pleasantly surprised that they texted to make sure we got home ok.

I can’t thank Tyler and the entire Rimrock Subaru service (and sales!) team enough for the fastest and most fun Subaru service I’ve experienced. My 2018 Crosstrek needed a battery change halfway through a road trip from Denver to Canada, and Tyler was able to answer my questions over the phone early this morning—before they had even opened!! We arrived around 4 pm and he had us in and out the door in under 40 minutes, although we ended up staying longer enjoying the customer area. We enjoyed snacks & coffee, playing with another employee’s puppy, got a souvenir diecast Crosstrek in the shop, and enjoyed building out virtual Subaru options at the lobby kiosk. Jesse took the time to show my partner a new Outback Wildness—he’s had his eye on one for awhile. Before we knew it, my car had a new battery (in under an hour!) at a totally reasonable cost. Tyler came back to talk me through everything that had been done and he and his girlfriend ended up giving us skiing and restaurant recommendations for the area too. Overall amazing service—the best I’ve had in my first year of Subaru ownership—and Tyler turned what could’ve been a road trip roadblock into a total blast. Thanks again to the entire Rimrock team!

Great experience. I was on my way to stay in Billings for a couple days, when on the journey the accessory belt/serpentine belt on my car; that I had long been putting off, seemed as if it were soon to finally go, and I did not feel comfortable to chance it and take it back on the 600 mile trip back home. Called the next day upon arriving at my hotel and they said I could get it in right away pretty much first thing in the morning. I chose Rimrock Subaru after doing some online research and calling Rimrock to verify what vehicles they had in stock that met my three main requirements: all-wheel drive, sedan and a seat belt that was easy to buckle and unbuckle. I called before I left home. When I arrived the salesman had the cars and keys ready. We went on a couple of test drives and looked at another one and I made up my mind. Everyone at Rimrock treated me so well and went the extra mile to take care of me; even to the point of helping me drop off my rental car. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

My Subaru blew a head gasket 20 miles from billings. called jesse the assistant service manager and he said to bring it on in and they will look at it and found that the cost will be more than half of what the car is worth. long story long I got a ride to a motel from jesse and no charge the the engine check. if I need a new car might buy from them! Also very dog friendly:).

Matthew Eagen may just beat out Jonathan Goldsmith as most interesting man in the world, but on top of that he is hands down the best car salesman I've ever worked with. Talk about going above and beyond, Matt drove over 200 miles round trip to pick me up and bring me to the dealership due to my engine blowing before I was able to finalize a deal, we didn't get done until 30 minutes after the dealership closed and I'm sure he had more to do after the fact. Matthew Eagen not only deserves a raise but he deserves for you (yes you, potential customer reading this review) to give him your business. RimRock auto has a decent selection at great prices and it's certainly worth working with them. I'll be going back for sure.

I took my vehicle there yesterday to have some work done and I was really impressed by the customer service from Irene. She was very knowledgeable, professional and prompt. My vehicle was not left sitting out front being done for awhile and no one letting me know, which has happened in the past. She also explained very competently was wrong with my car while there. There was an issue after I got home of a step that was not completed which caused my car to die after I would start it. I called her and she was willing to come out after work and check the connections to make sure they were tight enough or see what else it could be. This was really impressive because I thought I would have to take it back in and I live 40 minutes away. They ended up sending out a technician named Carson, who was also good. He seemed to fix the issue right away, he explained what the issue was, what was missed being done and he also gave me some helpful tips about my vehicle and the battery. Both Irene and Carson were very apologetic about the repair step that was missed at Subaru. I was very impressed by both their customer service while there and how quickly they fixed the mistake that happened while at Subaru. I was very happy I didn't have to bring my vehicle back. I will definitely be going back and asking for Irene.

About a week ago I was passing through Billings and I decided to stop at Rimrock Subaru to see if they would replace a rear bumper reflector that had fall of of my 2019 Outback. I was surprised how quickly I was able to have them say yes and perform the needed service which was covered under the car's warranty. My decision has NOTHING to do with Brady- who stopped dropped and rolled every single time I just showed up at the dealer without any warning. I have to say my time spent with Frank Sandlie was the best experience I have had with a car salesman. I really felt like Frank went above and beyond what I thought I would receive.

Rimrock has always done a good job servicing my Subarus. I have to drive over 100 miles for this service and I think I should be considered a valued customer, and get the same price as anyone else. I always try to call ahead to make an appointment and did so for my service this week, but was told because of the express service, I could come in anytime before 4:00 with no appointment necessary. No mention was made of any current discounts. I was charged $89.00 for an oil change and tire rotation. When driving by the business on the way out of town, I noticed on the sign in front that they were running a special of $69.00 for the same service for those that book online. I would have been glad to do that if only I had a "heads up" about the special when talking to service representatives on the phone. Instead of feeling like that valued customer, I felt that "gottcha" feeling in my gut.

I arrived at my dedicated appointment time for my oil chance and 6 month maintenance. The service took an hour and a half before my car was finished. I arrived at 7am. I didn’t know the protocol for Covid so I walked across the street to get a bagel, in hopes that when I came back my car would be done. When I walked back in around 7:40, I went to the waiting area and tried to get a coffee from their coffee bar. It was coffee from the day before. Cold and old. Gross. I was surprised that with all of this germ and virus stuff that they still had their waiting room area open and with coffee items. I would rather go to a dedicated maintenance company that is more efficient and accommodating than to sit for an hour and a half for an oil change again.

Easiest Car buying experience I've ever had. I sent an email to Rimrock with details of my truck and exact figure of cash to spend on the vehicle I wanted. Within 5 minutes I got a call from Chris Szkutnik the sales manager. He was on the phone with me for 10 minutes. Told me he'd give me a call back shortly to let me know if He could do the deal. Got a call back 90 minutes later and agreed to the deal. Sent me an itemized breakdown of the cost withing 15 minutes after that.
Drove up there the next day and was met by Scott Johnson, a sales associate. He pulled the car up promptly and we took it for a test drive. He was friendly and answered any questions I had. We had the paperwork signed and I was out the door in under an hour. Everyone was very professional. I was never pressured to spend more money, upgrade to a higher value vehicle, or add extra options. They let me know about warranty coverage and didn't try to push extra warranty coverage on me. Just gave me the information if I ever changed my mind in the future. The next day I got a courtesy call from Scott Johnson to see if I had any further questions about the vehicle. This was definitely the easiest the fastest, hassle free car purchase I ever made. 5 Stars all around. I would absolutely recommend them, hands down!!!

I leased my Crosstrek from here last year and the overall purchasing experience was pretty painless, a little back and forth on the pricing but ultimately we got the car we wanted at the price we liked. The several guys that helped us out (Preston, Chris and Pete) were pretty solid guys. However the trouble came a bit later when having to deal with their service department after my car had to go in for repairs. I will list the pros and cons about my experience below.
Pros:
1. The staff was nice.
2. They provide free shuttle service as well as loaner cars.
Cons:
1. They are very non-transparent about the work they did on my car. Usually they would do the work before I was ever notified.
2. They are very unresponsive. Several times I would call, leave a message or E-mail them and never get a call back regarding the status of my car.
3. Several times I was told one thing, then be told something completely different.
4. They replaced my brand new factory replacement mirror with another replacement, and claimed it was faulty, all without telling me ahead of time.
5. When I purchased the Vehicle I was talked into getting the 3-in-1 Coverage, which theoretically covers Windows, Tires and Painless Dent Repair (PDR). I was told that this would be very beneficial to have in case of the frequent hail in MT. Lo and behold, my car got wrecked by 2 hail storms. And the 3-in-1 paid for *none* of the repairs. For windows, its chips only, and for PDR it can be anything except for in the case of hail damage. I should have done my research ahead of time but window chips only cost less than $100 to repair and non hail related PDR is relatively cheap, there's no way someone could rack up enough damages to be worth the thousands of dollars you ultimately spend on this service. I've been waiting for them to send me a document to cancel this service for the past 3 weeks now, calling several times and have not received anything.

I can't give a 5 star as I am disappointed in their service. They told me it would take about 2 hrs to do the recall on the rear coil springs and oil change. After 3 & 1/2 hrs I called and asked them if my car was done and to come pick me up at the store. They said it would be another 15 min. and I still waited 20 min for them to come pick me up on a hot day. I was getting tired of carrying my packages from store to store and no place to sit. I called an 800 number that I had on my phone and a recording comes on from Subaru telling you to leave a message and they will call back. They never call back. I googled Subaru and got another number to call them. I can't understand why Subaru never has anyone to answer there phone. I told the lady and she gave me another number. She said other people have complained about not hearing back from Subaru. I probably should have given 3 stars instead of 4 stars. The only person friendly is a sales person that comes along trying to sell you a car.

Everything was done quickly, kindly, helpful and the whole staff was very professional. We still have our old 1991 Volvo that we bought new but the new Outback is a whole different kind of car driving experience. Love the lumbar adjustment and with all the air bags and being rated a 5 star in safety in the crash tests makes us feel more secure. The Outback has the highest clearance for traveling in snow, love the back up viewing on the screen and also the Sirius Satellite Radio is great. The ride is smooth and love the high gas mileage.

I took my vehicle in for a recall and an inspection. I asked if I could visit with a technician and was told yes. I watched 3 technicians come and talk to the lady and not one came and talked to me. When my vehicle was ready I was told I could only talk to one but he was in training. It would only have been 5 minutes of conversation. There was no report of the inspection either. When I asked about it was just fumbled words. So So experience but nothing great.

My girlfriend and I were frustrated with finding a vehicle to match our growing joint family but stay within our budget. Rimrock Subaru always takes good care of my car. There were a few problems the first year I owned it (2017) which they resolved to my satisfaction at no charge. Living in Montana is a bit hard on windshields and they've replaced mine three times (two at no charge under the insurance I purchased directly from them when I bought my car).
They provide shuttle service to wherever I'm going while they work on my car and even picked me up at a nearby grocery store after I finished my shopping when my car was in for an oil change and tire rotation. My car gets washed every time it's in for service which is the only time it gets washed because I'm too lazy to do it and driving back roads in MT just gets it dirty right away after washing..

I thought Arthur and Ryan were finominal. Ryan really had my best interest at heart. We clicked ya know? The financial chick I was , I don't know how to say it. I had a broken foot on a scooter, felt she seemed inconvenienced as I would have preferred not to move. It made me feel so guilty that I did schooch to her office. I will say she was empathetic. With that said, I don't want to hear that everyone is new and learning, whether they r or not. I felt this was unprofessional on her part. With that said, everyone, including her were very dedicated to their positions. One thing that really bothered me, I wanted to put all on my AMEX for point purposes. I understand scamming, but Ryan verified plenty of funds in my account. This is not fair to customers. Again Ryan , I'm your biggest fan.

glitches in the past with service always covered and cared for by management. does not appear to be true under the new management.
door latch broke and door wouldn't closed. appt set up that saturday so part could be delivered. car promised at 0930 so i waited. not ready until 1230. frustrating! then, i had to set up another appt as the panel was not replaced correctly and latch worked but not smooth. latch still not smooth but i was told it was 'perfect' and i chose not to bother with it further.
i had my airbags dealt with under recall/warranty about 6 months ago. the airbag light stays on intermittently since. becoming more common so i called to discuss and set up repair. was told that it'd probably be $250 and not covered by the recall/warranty. it was related to the airbag issue and i asked why it wouldn't be covered. i was told it wasn't. i asked the service manager to call when he got time. at 3 days, no call.
i will not be buying my third outback here. customer service seems to be a low priority. not going to buy out of state and deal with the service department we have here.
Recently returned for one more try with service department. The store has new management apparently. Marked 100% Improvement and service. This is more when I expected. Very happy

I am a business owner in Great Falls Montana and Traveled to Billings 3 months ago to buy a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2 wheel dr.. Over the phone with dealership I agreed to $13999. I drove down on a SAT. Once I arrived I waited 45 minutes and once the contract was infront of me they had already added the extended warranty which made the vehicle $16999. I was desperate bc my previous vehicle was totaled and I was so busy with work I needed a vehicle and rimrock was the only place that reached out to me to get into a truck. The finance manager basically said he could care less if walked out. I signed and drove home with the truck
30 days after having the vehicle I sent notice that I wanted the warranty cancelled. I called 20 + times. I was passed on to 20 different voicemails. I spoke to 10 different people. I have been calling and calling and have been ignored. Finally a month ago I got a manager to send me cancellation form and I sent back over a month ago and here 30 days later I'm still being ignored when I call the dealership. I called the company who deals with warranty and they said until the dealership cancells it I'm screwed...
UPDATE: RIMROCK SUBARU HAS REACHED OUT TO ME AND MY GRIEVANCE HAS BEEN SETTLED. TY

I love my Subaru Impreza. It is very reliable and the all wheel drive makes it very safe on the snow covered or icy Montana Roads. The car heater is amazing and heats up quickly so I never get into a cold car. I also have a remote start and I love that option so I don't have to go outside to start my car to defrost it. The car offers the option of Pandora for Music and this option is helpful to keep my hands on the wheel the whole time. I love my Subaru Impreza and I would Suggest this model to anyone. I haven't been disappointed by it once.

Update to review as of 3-21-19. While the initial service was great and the salesperson was great, these guys dropped the ball overall. First I couldn't believe the ridiculous $700 dealer doc fees, never have I seen them so high. I let it slide as I got a good deal on the car. They had to send me with a demo plate as they couldn't give me a TRP when I bought the car, something about it already had one attached to it, idk. Whatever, got the demo plate and was on our way. Couple days later they mail me a TRP. Then the time comes that the TRP has expired. I call a couple days before this to find out what's up with the title work. I have to leave a message with the finance/title person. He never called me back, just emailed me another TRP. I email him asking why another TRP and where is my title paperwork, he never answers me back. I give them a couple more weeks, call the dealership again and talk to another person in finance/title. She couldn't find any record of me purchasing the car. Calls me back and says it will go out today. I ask if they are sending it to the right DMV, she says yes. Nope, they sent it to the wrong DMV. After 2 months and poor communication on their behalf, I will finally be able to get the car registered. I won't buy another car from Rimrock.
ORIGINAL REVIEW 1-26-19. Saw vehicle posted online and contacted the dealership. Was coming from out of town so wanted better pictures and more info on the car. Was provided with several good pictures and more details on the car. Even though car had a lot of interest from fellow buyers, dealership held car for me until I could come up and inspect and drive the car. Car was as described. Customer service from the salesperson was excellent.

They don't list car prices on their web site - you have to provide them with your email address and full name and telephone number to find out how much a car costs. I called them instead and the salesman told me he had to go talk to his sales manager to get prices. He did call me back quickly.

I have had my oil changed in different parts of town, and they didn’t charge me an arm and a leg.
