This was my first time purchasing a vehicle on my own and the Swickard Volkswagen team members couldn’t have made my experience more smooth and enjoyable! Representative, Adam Poole, was very polite, engaging and achieved beyond my expectations with his customer service excellence. I did not feel at all pressured during the deal. Additionally, they were very generous on compromising with me during the trade-in of my previous vehicle which took me by surprise. Overall, I would definitely rate my experience a solid 5 stars and am looking forward to working with them again in the future!

We appreciated his no pressure approach, his friendly demeanor and his interest in ensuring we were satisfied with our car choice. We feel that Eleazar took the time to listen to where we wanted to be at with the purchase price. He was also very considerate of our time as we didn’t have a lot of it to spend at the dealership due to other commitments we had. Matt and the entire sales team were exceptionally helpful and patient as we navigated our way around helping our 18 year old son buy his first car. We found the listing earlier in the day and responded and were almost immediately contacted to set up an appointment to test drive the car. As the day progressed it began to snow and that didn't deter anything. Matt had the car warmed up and ready when we arrived and was super patient while our son test drove it. He answered every question our son had and offered a lot of great information. Once we returned and decided it was the car for him, Matt and his supervisor spoke with all of us and made the deal work with zero hassle. We came in looking for something to replace our SUV that's seen better days. I specifically came here to test drive a new Tiguan. Salesman Eleazar Torino came out to greet us, and I was super excited to go on my test drive. Turns out I left my phone with my DL at home though. Super bummed and thinking I was gonna have to drive all the way back home, Eleazar sprang into action and offered to drive me back to my place in the Tiguan to get my DL!! What FANTASTIC customer service!! We headed to my place grabbed the DL and I was able to test drive the new Tiguan on the way back. The Tiguan was spot on and I was definitely interested in buying. When we got back to the dealership the sales manager Kelsey Amara came out to meet us. She was so friendly and just one of those humans you can instantly tell are good people. We went inside and they worked the numbers. They went above and beyond to get me the right deal without any pressure. The process was smooth and comfortable. We then met up with the finance manager Justin Fisher. Justin was very personable and had the connections needed to push through our credit app with the bank in a timely manner. Not to mention he was fun to coversate with and gave us all the information we needed to make a decision. The entire team at Swickard is phenomenal and I would absolutely recommend anyone looking for some new wheels here anyday. In fact, I have never left a dealership feeling so happy and confident that I got a fantastic car at a fantastic price. I walked into VW of Anchorage with intentions of test driving to confirm I wanted a car from a different dealer. I was connected with Adam Poole and he was great from start to finish. He addressed my budget and made numbers work where I wanted to be, addressed and matched me to a vehicle that had all the features (and WAY MORE!) I *needed* in a new vehicle, walked me through all the features, and made the entire deal very low-pressure and transparent. To me, this is huge. After a recent accident totaled our car we were a little slow to go out car shopping. At first we thought we could make it through the winter with one car (front wheel drive at that). Finally we dragged out and we were glad to have made it to Kendall Volkswagen. Brendan made the process easy and put up with our several days of test driving with encouragement and a smile. Everyone there treated us kindly and they were all exceptionally helpful. We ended up with an almost new Honda Pilot (we love Honda’s). It was a great deal on a make we’ve owned before. However, the Atlases, Volkswagen’s version in that class, were amazing cars. Had they not really wanted to move the Pilot, we would have driven home the Atlas. This is a dealership that doesn’t mess around, they pull up the Carfax and do research first thing. They are willing to drive to other lots around town to show inventory and they are very accommodating if you want to take a used vehicle to your own mechanic. We may be in the market for something smaller in the near future, I would definitely visit any Kendall dealership for my needs. They have specials going all the time and a great website, put them on your list if you are in the market.

Swickard can plop down a huge chunk of change to buy multiple dealerships in anchorage but cannot manage to provide shuttle service to their customers who don't have anyone to take them back and forth when they leave their vehicles to be worked on. Spent about $25 to get home. I can only work part time so I'm not rolling around in a pile of money. Couldn't really afford that. Seriously. Get a Lyft corporate account like Lithia.

I went into Kendall VW because I submitted an instant cash offer through the KBB website. I met with Steven Lamm to get my vehicle appraised, and within minutes I had a great offer on my vehicle. Steven was a gentleman through and through. He treated me with the utmost respect, and was fast and efficient with our transaction. During my visit I expressed my interest to buy a secondary vehicle to a salesperson named Luis Pedraza. Luis was not pushy in any way. He was extremely patient with my wife and I, and was extremely accommodating. I was there for hours, and test drove at least 5 vehicles. Luis was super patient and never once tried rushing us or anything. Chill as could be, he would get me key after key for my test drives. I mean he was awesome! Once I decided on the vehicle, I was able to negotiate a great deal on the car. They dropped almost $3K off the price! Blew my mind, that not only was everyone super great with us, but then they gave us a great deal. I have bought three vehicles since my move to Alaska, and have visited countless dealerships. Luis and the team there at Kendall auto is hands down the best I’ve encountered. They will be my first stop next time I’m out buying a car. Great customer service! I would recommend them to anyone. CASSIE was THE BEST car sales person I have ever met. From the second I showed up lost on the lot, she helped me find the car I love. I am not the kind of person who does well with aggressive sales approaches, and she was exactly what I needed (let me take my time & was not too pushy). I think I went to the lot to look 3 different times over a matter of 2 weeks and she still didn't give up on me even after the first few vehicles turned out to not be for me. She did an excellent job at communicating through the whole process and doing everything in her power to help me out and find the car of my dreams at a reasonable price (not an easy task- I am VERY picky & poor, ha!). LUIS was the person to help me through the paperwork process of buying a car for the first time by myself. He was so helpful and informative, I could tell he really wanted to make sure I felt like I wasn't getting scammed or dealing with slimy people like a lot of other car dealerships can be. He was very upfront about the car and let me know from the beginning a recall notice it had. Same as Cass, he was not too pushy and I cant explain enough how appreciative I am of that. I ended up buying a warranty for the car from him and am so happy I did as I now have that piece of mind. Overall I had an excellent and incomparable experience buying my first car by myself, and a HUGE thank you to Cassie & Luis- I would say they are 2 of the best employees Kendall has.

I initially contacted this dealership while shopping for a vehicle as an anniversary gift. We weren't able to reach a deal at first, but as the situation evolved the salesman reached out and we were able to. Everyone I dealt with was very helpful. There was a last minute hiccup outside their control which would have prevented the vehicle from being delivered on time. BUT the salesman I was dealing with drove it himself, 2.5 hours one way, on a Friday night, so that it would be on time. I won't hesitate to shop here next time I am in the market for a vehicle.

I attempted to schedule a oil change using the 'web scheduler' but it wasn't working. So I sent an email to the 'contact' address - to alert them that their scheduler wasn't working, and; that I wanted an appointment, and; that I would not be bringing the vehicle in personally - a relative who was using it would.This was on a Saturday - the shop was closed. I got a nice email back on Sunday saying they appreciated the notice, and that they would take care of assuring the schedule (I outlined in the email) would be taken care of. My relative took the car by at nearly the requested time and the oil change was accomplished. All was okay. I got the typical 'status report on the vehicle with the service form and it showed a 'parking light' out. I knew one was out and already had attempted to change it but it was way too well protected by too many things in the way for me to reach it. My plan was to get it changed by the service staff when I took the car in for service - whenever that was. But I forgot to mention it both in the email to Kendall and to the relative...shame on me. I was disappointed that no suggestion was made at the time of service to change it. I kind of hoped that they would have mentioned it and took care of it while it was at the shop. As it is, I went out to the car after it got home and attempted changing it again and...with the 'help' of the relative got the whole process so screwed up that now it's a major hassle. Thanks to Kendall for the email help, making the appointment 'outside of the scheduler,' and taking care of the service. Oops to Kendall for not offering to change the obviously faulty light when they did the 'status report.' They missed a chance to make a buck, and I got a chance to really get frustrated with the problem of changing it - and it's not done yet.

I was in your office to purchase a VW Atlas in December 2019 and I had JP as my salesperson (Brittany was also very helpful). He was great in every way! I was glad to not be put under pressure and to just have candid conversations with him about the car and which trim worked best for me and my pocket. I felt like he also made me feel comfortable with the choice I made because he knew a lot about the cars. I would say that working with the finance guy, Luis, wasn’t a 5 star experience. I understand that he probably has to try to sell extra services to customers but it became quite uncomfortable having to be shown videos on YouTube to try to convince me when I had clearly stated that a service was not of interest to me (if I was interested then the YouTube videos would be appropriate), but in my case it was a waste of my time especially because I’d already been at the dealership for almost 2hrs (on a workday) waiting to finalize the purchase. I will still give the 5 star overall rating because ultimately, I was content with my experience and I am loving my car a lot so far. Thanks!

My experience with my salesman JP was excellent. He was and continues to be very responsive. My experience with the finance person Luise was not as good. After the initial document signing we we asked by him to come in again to sign another set of documents because he had made an error on the date. Additionally we purchased paint coating at the original signing on Thursday December 12th and Luise said that the car would be available for pick-up on Sunday. When we signed the second set of documents the next day he denied telling my wife and I that it would be available Sunday. Ultimately JP was the one tasked with telling us that our vehicle would be available on Wednesday.

My husband and I needed space for our family of five. We needed to make room for our three month old twin boys. Herman Olaes suggested we take the entire family for the test drive. So as we loaded up the car seats. He graciously helped us secure our children. After having had a recent snowfall, the conditions of the roads were icy. This was another reason we were looking for an AWD to handle the icy roads. Which it did, breaking, taking off and turning, you can do all this with confidence. The VW Atlas is such a smooth ride, it definitely feels like a luxury to be behind the wheel of my new car. Good experience on buying a used car in good condition. The only reason they are getting 4 stars and not 5 is because they gave me the runaround about providing the second key fob to the car I purchased. I asked about getting a hold of the second key at least 4 times throughout our day together. They still have not provided one and looks they are not going to. Other than that, with any big purchase do your homework and come prepared. It was business as usual. Everyone was friendly and professional eventhough I didn't buy a brand new import car. I even get the Kendall treatment with year long maintenance and oil changes and cafe lates for life.

I purchased a 2016 F150 from Kendall’s used lot almost 3 weeks ago. My sales guy did a good job and took good care of us so I don’t fault him for any of this. On our way home we noticed the floor was a little wet. It started to rain and we noticed it getting worse. When we got back home, we pulled the floor mats and found water was leaking badly from under the dash into the cab. The floor under the mats was completely soaked along with the wiring under the dash. It was so wet you could hear it slosh under the carpets the more it rained. I don’t fault my sales guy for this, but it looks like whoever inspected it in the shop just threw dry mats over the soaked moldy carpet. I took it to Kendall ford (not where I bought it) down in Kenai and Kendall offered to pay for the repairs. Apparently there was a leak so big in the windshield seal you could see a flashlight through it and it had soaked and molded the carpet. The mold was clearly visible under the floor mats. I am 3 weeks away from my first payment and my truck has been sitting in the shop for 2 weeks now and still has yet to be finished being fixed. This whole process has taken almost 3 weeks from the date of purchase now and I still havnt really been able to drive my truck besides driving it home. This is definitely my worst experience buying a vehicle to date. Hopefully others won’t have to go through anything similar. ****UPDATE**** Kendall took care of the repairs for the truck and I have it back now. To their credit they did a very good job on the repairs, cleaned everything up, and did it all on their own dime. Both stores worked together well to fix the mistake which is the best you can ask for when this kind of thing happens.

Purchased a VW Alltrack from Nick, our incredibly pleasant salesman, who took good care of us. Management was responsive when we brought the car back after feeling a shudder on rapid deceleration. They fixed the problem and attended to our other requests for which we'd planned to pay, all at no charge. Happy we choose the Alltrack and had a great experience all around. We miss Morrison, but the new facility Kendall put up is truly something to see, from the bathrooms to the shop! They were able to get me in same day for an oil change, which was really great because I live out of town (3 hours away) and just happened to have extra time. The service was great. Everything went flawless with the oil change. The last auto shop I got an oil change they didn't know how to work with a VW and I would often have leaks afterward. I'm happy to say I made the 3 hour drive home right after and my car ran much more smoothly. Also, I had my 8 mo old son with me and they were very courteous and allowed me to use the child's playroom while we waited. When I did need to change his diaper I noticed the bathroom was like the size of an airplane bathroom, but thankfully they had a changing table. All in all I had a pleasant experience.

I was in the market to buy a new vehicle and had been to all of the dealerships in Anchorage. I stopped by Kendall Volkswagen second to last, just to see if there was any SUV's in the price range I was looking at (30k-40k). I saw the Volkswagen Tiguan. The previous car I had was the Subaru Forester XT and loved it, but it was no longer in production and I had to get something new. First of all I want to say that the new location (6115 Old Seward Hwy) was by FAR the best laid out dealership in Anchorage and also was the cleanest in town. The new building is awesome. I had a great experience working with their sales team! My salesman was Marko and he was super knowledgeable about Volkswagens. I test drove the 2018 Tiguan and was hooked. It had all the amenities that I wanted and they had various models. Marko was great to work with and the dealership wasn't pressing me to JUST MAKE A SALE. It came down to great professionalism! It should always be about what fits best for the consumer and not just making people feel pressured into buying something. I worked with one of the sales managers on the Volkswagen side named Firmen and he was super easy to deal with. The whole transaction came through super fast. I have bought several vehicles and to be out the door in three hours from just walking in was a great sign of relief! I work in Law Enforcement and they had additional rebates for the vehicle, just for Military and First responders. The sale department was great at answering any of the questions I had. I'm super happy with my new purchase and I would recommend Volkswagen to all of my friends. Great value for a sweet ride!

While it can be tough to get an appointment over the phone, the parts counter is quick to help with estimates and working out the options. I was able to get my snow tires ordered and on within a week! I was happy that they called me back and found a way to squeeze me in a week earlier than anticipated. Doors open pretty late for me (7:30AM) but the key drop off was convenient. In the last two times I have brought my car into the shop, I receive a coupon for a free car wash. I wish my car was just washed or rinsed off when I brought it in. No one wants a coupon, we want it washed! Nonetheless, I was really pleased with the rate being $300 lower than originally quoted. He was able to give me a cost estimate on the phone for the problems that my car needed fixed and he was very personable as he explained everything to me in order to understand what I was being charged for. I had scheduled a diagnostic appointment at 7:45 am and my car was examined and fixed (the heating system, brake pads and a replacement running light) all before noon! In the mean time, I took full advantage of the shuttle service to get to school and back. The shuttle driver who I rode with was Tony and he was a very cautious and safe driver. (Much appreciated by me!) I had tried to avoid taking my Jetta to the dealership because costs are usually higher at a dealership than a local body shop. I wish I could give Kendall VW a 5 star rating but my first experience here was very disappointing: for a warranty repair, I drove in 700 miles, taking 3 days off from work, only to be told that the parts required for the repair were on back order, after having been told that the parts would be available during my wait in Anchorage. I was going to have to do the trip again at a later date. However, when the parts did arrive, I was contacted by Matt, the Parts Mgr, who had discussed my experience with Jeremy, the General Mgr, who okayed a satisfying restitution. Then the Service department took over with Johnny and the Service Mgr dedicating one of their best technicians for the day I was scheduled to return. That day, the repair was completed and I happily drove the 700 miles back home in my great-to-drive, well-running, well-serviced TDI Sportwagen. I will return to Kendall VW for service, would purchase a vehicle from them in the future, and would encourage others to do so.

For Juneau residents, we only have one real option when buying a new car. We have to go the the single new car dealer in town and put up with those spoiled, rude, ignorant, arrogant, pompous dealers at the Subaru/Dodge/Chrysler/Honda/Toyota/Jeep/Chevy Mendenhall Auto dealership. Or, at least that's what I thought, until I started doing some research After doing the math, the money I saved by emailing and texting Ross from the Kendall dealership in anchorage and settling on a fair price for a car that I really wanted was well worth the trip; A black 2018 VW Tiguan SE. I LOVE THIS CAR! They even got me a better rate of finance than Navy Federal Credit Union, which is basically unheard of. With the money I saved by not settling on a Subaru (which Mendenhall Auto was not willing to negotiate anywhere close to invoice), and negotiating with Kendall, it was well worth the $500 it took to get it back down to Juneau. ($250 air fare - Juneau to Anchorage. $150 Ferry - Haines to Juneau. $100 Gas from Anchorage to Haines)

One flat tire caused a 3-hour delay in getting back home in Sterling. Instead of a flat repair or one new tire, we HAD TO BUY 3 TIRES to get a fourth and had to spend $455 instead of the cost of a ONE tire repair. A year ago, I asked Quick Lane in Kenai for all-season Goodyear tires like I had used on two VW Scirrocos in 21 years!! Now I have 4 new tires because my Goodyear tires could not be found in Alaska. And I have 4 new tires that will be changed as soon as Quick Lane can order one Goodyear All-season tire. They are studded AND NOISY and in 21 years I have not used studded tires. YIKE! I had a weld come apart on one of the catalytic converters on my Touareg. Luckily I was in Anchorage and close to the dealership. I left the car for a few days (had them do the 30,000 mile maintenance too) and the service team was attentive (my phone interactions were with Cody). The work was completed. The only gripe I have is that when I dropped the car off, the service department was closed, and the sales team/manager did not have the ability, authority or inclination to provide a loaner car (I live in Mat-Su). I bought an extended warranty for the Touareg, and this was obviously a problem that the warranty would address (never seen a catalytic converter come apart). Anyway, a dealership that sells high-end vehicles should have loaner vehicles available to their repeat customers when the service department is closed. That would up the score from good customer service to excellent customer service (and satisfaction).

Under new owners, but it's still the same bad experiences with the service department. Brought my Audi in, that had a bad PCV (causing a sightly rough idle, 800-1100 rpm flutter and a check engine light) that was still under warranty. They replaced it with a updated part number, and it ran worse than before, with the idle now going all way up to 2000 rpm. They couldn't figure out the problem, and told me it was a boost leak and I'd have to pay for them to track down a boost leak. I fixed the problem myself by replacing the new and defective PCV they installed, and sold the car soon after. There was no boost leak, so one star for service EDIT: The parts department is very friendly, accurate, and helpful in getting parts for my VW. Parts prices for the parts I've bought has been reasonable too, so five stars for that department.

I was pleased with the overall service and efficiency when I took my VW Passat wagon in for a recall notice. They were friendly, and professional and completed the job in a timely manner! The only issue I had was determining which service bay to drive into when I arrived. When faced with all the choices I accidentally drove into the one marked with a green X that said SERVICE.. Apparently this was the wrong bay, as the Porsche/Audi service representative made quite clear by his rather snobbish/arrogant tone directing me to back my car out and into the VW bay two doors down. The correct VW bay is marked with a green X that says EXPRESS SERVICE. It was a bit confusing. Why does the Porsche/Audi bay say "SERVICE", but the VW bay says, "EXPRESS SERVICE"? He needn't have been so arrogant; my husband has an Audi that we get serviced there regularly! Sorry to offend your sensibilities!

We took our KIA here because we purchased it from here. It was having a really loud squeaky/creaky noise while moving. KENDALL had my car for 3 days. On the 3rd day we were told they were transferring it to LITHIA KIA because they could not diagnose the problem. LITHIA called me at 2pm to say they had the car and at 3:30 they said come pick it up, "it's a bushing and we have it on order and will call you when it arrives." I can't fathom how, within an hour and a half, LITHIA had a solution and KENDALL couldn't even diagnose the problem. The service staff at KENDALL is always friendly and helpful and they kept in touch with us often over the 3 days....I just don't know why they were not able to identify the problem that was so quickly identified by LITHIA.
