Reviews of Lenoir Preserve
Cool little park with some old stone structures. We walked very slowly on every trail and were done in about an hour and a half. Dog friendly.
Amazing nature center with trails, interesting classes amd gorgeous view. Tons of birds at feeders and huge trees. Went to wonderful maple syrup class.
This is a very large 40-acre nature preserve along the Hudson River. The preserve is mostly woodlands and there are not many well defined trails, so it is a somewhat difficult walk, and you need to watch your step, especially since many areas are sloped. The park had very few hikers when I was there so it can be intimidating from a personal safety standpoint.
The highlight of the preserve is the Wightman Mansion, one of two estate homes on the property. Unfortunately, you can't go into these magnificent properties since Westchester County which owns the property is currently attempting to renovate the mansions.
The grounds around the estates are beautiful and overlook the Hudson River so it is a beautiful park to visit in warm weather.
Once the estate homes are renovating this will be a wonderful place to visit.
Went here today what a nice place in Yonkers saw deer as well
It was a pretty but desolate park. We did see a deer but we were also attacked by birds while walking on the paved trail. It was cool until the birds incident. Some cool stone structures there and also looks like an old plantation house is there also. It was closed when we visited im not sure if it is abandoned or part of the park but it was cool to look at. There are some picnic tables there and many benches to enjoy the silence and nature
Lovely preserve. Lots to explore and old ruins of a mansion in the back. Worth exploring
I've always liked coming to Lenore and visiting the butterfly garden, but unfortunately it looks like they are under construction and the garden is not there. Hopefully, in a couple of months they will be finished.
Great for bird watching and for leisurely strolls on the paved path. If you bring your dog, please keep him on a leash.
Peaceful. Short distance from Untemeyer Park. Try to see both in one day if possible. Mansion is going through a renovation but still a great place to enjoy nature especially if you're a bird lover. You may even see some deer on occasion. A picnic table close to the parking lot to enjoy lunch and benches to rest. Great place if you are looking for a quiet spot especially during the week.
Fantastic place to go for a walk alone or with family, most paths are stroller friendly as well.
I went on Sunday afternoon and there were no one but a couple walking around as if the whole park was for us. It was very quiet and peaceful.
Part of Westchester County Parks. Empty, which was both nice but a little creepy and sad. Stop by. It is pretty and has quite interesting history.
This is definitely a cute hidden oasis. We had a great time walking around the grounds. It was simple and not a whole lot going on which is what we liked about it. Especially as the leaves were starting to change.
Nice walking trail. Great views
Lovely place to enjoy nature which connects to the Old Croton Aqueduct. You will see deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional large rodent. It is unfortunate that a few bad apples ruin it for the rest of us. This is clearly a leashed dog only park. However, I've seen people with reactive or aggressive dogs off leash here like it's some kind of dog park. I've also witnessed a loose dog chasing deer through the forest. My LEASHED dog and I have been accosted on numerous occasion by loose dogs. Seriously, this is a nature PRESERVE! Respect where you are.
Great short trails, a "Butterfly Garden" all having a breath-taking view of the Palisades and Hudson River. Benches line the walkways to allow peaceful contemplation while wooded paths bring you back to nature.
One of the most beautiful natural space for Silvestre birds 🐦. Impressive human care. …
Highly recommend staff will give you the best deal on any amount u want to spend they’ll make sure u walk happy 😊 …
Very peaceful place to walk and just enjoy the birds.
Very nice n quiet walk...peaceful.
Amazing park. I leave in Yonkers for so many year and never new about this park. It beautiful and clean
Great place to take a walk, relax, & to enjoy nature. It's so peaceful here. We were here on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon & barely anybody here. The mansion is beautiful, unfortunately it is not open for public. The views are spectacular! There is a nature center & butterfly garden inside. The nature center isn't open daily but you can always use the ground daily from dawn to dusk all year long. Admission is free & it is located minutes away from the Saw Mill Parkway. If you want to get away from the busy city life or if you love to enjoy nature, this place is definitely worth visiting. It's only about half an hour to 45 minutes drive from Manhattan.
A quiet and beautiful nature preserve 10 minutes outside the city. They have summer camps and even a preschool. Our kids counted butterflies in the butterfly garden and birds and had lots of fun. We often take the kids to run around there in the weekend, and they love it.
Beautiful place...very quiet and great place to clear your head
Very nice escape during pandemic times. Paved and wooded paths, butterfly garden, not too busy. Nature center not open now, but it's a plus when it's open. I think there should be events to raise money for the mansion, or open it as a restaurant/ event space. Lots of potential
I love this place because hardly anyone goes, so it is quiet, peaceful and open
A nice park close to the Hudson River. There was walking trails, and a butterfly garden, although we didn't see any butterflies during our visit in mid-September.
Hidden gem of a park located in North Yonkers. I lived a mile away for 20 years, and recently discovered it.
Beautiful, easy walk that's family/stroller friendly.
We're went in the winter so the grounds were fine for a walk but some of the attractions like the butterfly garden are dormant at this time of year. Nonetheless the grounds offer a nice view of the Hudson river with the trees bare of leaves.
Nature walk after lunch? Sure! Amongst deer at sunset? Sure!
Beautiful nature area within the City of Yonkers. You can see many types of birds, butterflies, deer, other animals. Safe, easy to walk.
Beautiful grounds. Well maintained paths, clearly marked. Nature and beauty surrounded us. Even though it was a misty foggy day we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Looking forward to our return.
Beautiful park..I look forward to visiting when the house or nature center is open. It looks like it needs some ground maintenance done. Trees down and grass needs to be trimmed especially in Butterfly Garden.
One of my family's favorite hangouts when the weather is good. Lot's of changes. Sad to see some of the trees and our favorite berry bushes have been removed. Please help keep this gem clean when you visit.
Absolutely beautiful!! Love coming to Lenoir Preserve - spring, summer and fall - you can’t go wrong. Kudos to the groundskeepers❣️
Brought back memories of going there as a kid , my sister's friend , her father was a care taker for Andrus , loved going the when I was young
Small but beautiful and peaceful spot. Limited river views due to trees but plenty of open space and trails. Good for birdwatching.
Nice bit of walking space in Yonkers. They often host educational events for kids of all ages. My daughter loved the birds of prey event last year.
This is a beautiful park that overlooks the Hudson River. I uploaded some drone photos. Great place to take your kids for a walk. I look forward to visiting again.
Wonderful center for learning and fun.
A gorgeous place to go for a walk and amazing for photos. Def one of my new favorite places to visit.
This is another former estate date and is under construction but instruction but when completed will be worth seeing
Space space and more outside space Dogs allowed paths fun small animals in natural habitats trees shrubs perianal flowers all with background Hudson river and palisades views
A small park, great place to get away and relax. Has a lovely butterfly garden, and terraces with stair and a winding path leading down to the old Croton Aqueduct.
The son of sams on Netflix .. I bet you won’t ever visit this part again 🥴 …
Serenity at maximum. Mini wildlife.
Cool place and there Is a abandoned house and great views of the Palisades Cliffs.
Love the scenery. We took family pictures with a professional photographer .
There weren't many scenic locations but the trail is mostly clean and there are informative signs about the history of the trail.
Enjoyed my first visit to Lenoir Preserve Relaxing to walk around Historic with nice views and some benches Nature Center was closed
Besutiful place to bird watch walk trails in a beautiful woodsy area
Beautiful place to see the sunset
Nice place to walk, paved pathways.
Nice park
Nice spacious place to walk
Beautiful park - the grounds are lovely & wonderful paths to walk on
Very serene!
Nice place for a walk, great views. Aim for the most northern entrance instead of the smaller driveways if you want to be by the nature center.
Be carful at the bird feeder. I hope Lenoir Preserve management could rasie it higher to avoid any more tweety friend's being lunch to Sylvester.
Beautiful preserve...great views of the Hudson river...historic old estates...abundant wildlife....really a great place to walk and unwind.
Nice place to walk and get some exercise. Not much to see
Quiet, beautiful and peaceful place to be. It's my go to place when I need comfort.
A great peaceful place to walk and reflect surrounding by nature in the morning.
Beautiful place. Was able to picnic with my family. Wasn't crowded.
Nice area for a quick hike. Pack out anything you bring in. A bit crowded at times.
Hard to believe you're in Yonkers when you're walking in this historic preserve.
Very peaceful place.
Very cold on Feb 2,2018
Lovely place for a 6 yr old birthday, when the weather is good
Great place to take a casual nature walk.
Beautiful
Very peaceful place to relax and enjoy fresh air.
It was a nice day for a walk, but the grounds are being redone, so it wasn't as pretty as it normally looks.
Was kinda nice to find a trail to enjoy walking..
The place is beautifully serene but needs a lot of up keep.
I've been here a few times for birding activities. Nice land with views of the Hudson.
Family wedding ceremony at the arch. Beautiful setting.
It would get more stars for beautiful but they are doing a major meadow renovation
Nice place. Very good job done by the park employees.
It was ok. Creepy abandoned built. Could not find access to the water

Wilderness
It's a beautiful well maintained little park. There is a butterfly garden which I'm sure will be nice in the warmer weather (we were there in February). There are also a couple of old homes/mansions but you can only look at them for me outside.
It is however, quite small. There is only one trail to walk on and it's less than a mile. Other than a preschool class who are gathered in a little grassy area, they were very few people there on a Monday afternoon.
Note: In searching the web before going, I had seen that dogs were not allowed. However that is incorrect. Dogs are allowed as long as they are on leash, they even have stations at the entrance with poop bags.
Beautiful place to escape from the daily routine excellent to take the whole family access is free but if you want you can leave a donation of course it is not mandatory
I walked it in the snow, it's nice, it has parking, it's nice to be with family.
Spectacular site memories of an ancient time transports you to what the past was like in yonkers
Very nice place perfect to go with family
