Camp grounds are clean and quiet.
The facility has hot water and stock with toiletries.
It’s nice that the Farmington river is close to go fishing, it’s also good to be able ride your bikes around the campground.
I just wish there wasn’t so much spider in the bathroom.
Also the bathroom has a lot of peeling paint on the wall.
All the peeling paint and spiders can be removed if they power wash the walls every so often.
It’s also very convenient to have fire wood for purchase on site.
I would give five stars if it wasn’t for the spiders.
We had a great experience overall and will return.

Very nice campground, the camp sites are not very close to each other, there are trees in between which offers campers privacy. The campsite is small so if you're planning to walk/hike could be a lil bit of a disadvantage. Our campsite was close to the river, beautiful and refreshing river view, good for fishing as well. The staff was very nice, they offer you pamphlets of maps and rules, bathrooms available with hot water.
The only con is that our campsite was close to a roadside so we could hear cars passing by. In general it's a great family friendly campsite.

Hot showers, clean and stocked bathroom facilities, large campsites but lacking in privacy and security.. A lot of anglers roaming our campsite because it had direct river access.

Amazing views, quiet and peaceful! The staff members were extremely nice and warned of a bear, he later walked through the camp site! Great time, and can't wait to go back!

Great Campground! The sites are all isolated from each other so it’s like you’re in a clearing in the woods! Very clean from the grounds to the bathrooms! If you like fishing it’s win win!

Absolutely love ❤️ going here, so peaceful the river is beautiful, great for fly fishing, great place for a hike in the woods or to just hang by the fire. We like to paint 🎨 rocks and leave them around the fire 🔥 ring for others to enjoy 😊
Nice local restaurants nearby and Dunkin too. Will definitely be back next year. …

The campsite was overall a good experience. Easy access to Farmington River for tubing, hiking trails, etc. Our family had a good time.

Well spaced sites, with lots of trees, so it feels like camping despite our cozy travel trailer. The nearby trails were a plus, and we rested at a nearby winery.

Great campground. We (my son's, brother in law, nephews) have been coming here since 2016. Great location on the Farmington river. We kayak and fish the area lakes. Lots of space and privacy between sites. Cabins have electric. Staff is always pleasant and bathrooms are clean. My only issue is that the bathrooms need de-cobwebbing and a scraping and painting on the interior masonry. 2022 update to my review. Just spent another fishing/camping trip with my group. 7/22-7/30 2022. Like last year great campground, new office building but restrooms need attention to painting. Girl in office , Ariana was great, friendly and helpful. My only negative this year is the manager, Mitch. We know the rule about only 2 vehicles per site. Before proceeding to his site my brother in law stopped to drop off firewood and ice and eat before heading fishing. Mitch was going past and had a fit and gave my nephew who is autistic a hard time. Totally over the top and rude. After talking to others it sounds like we weren't the first people he's been rude and cranky with. I would say he's not very people friendly. Probably should find another line of work. With that being said we will most likely go back again in 2023.

Great little campground on one of the best trout fisheries in the northeast! I love this campground because it's very quiet and peaceful. There's wooded areas between the sites so the sites aren't too close together which also makes it quieter than most campgrounds. The restrooms and showers are well maintained and they actually have hot water. The office sells ice and firewood at very reasonable prices also. If you like camping and trout fishing this is the place to camp. The river is great for tubing, canoeing or kayaking as well.

The camp sites are nice and wooded with the river right beside. If you’re looking to fly fish; this is an ideal location (lots of anglers in the river). However, the camp office closes at 6pm, so if you have an issue (like another group taking your registered campsite - which happened to us), you have to call an emergency number which isn’t meant to receive calls like this. Or, if there is a group that is playing loud music until 5:30am (which also happened), there is no one around to monitor. You also can’t buy firewood and ice after 6. Additionally, presumably since there aren’t staff after hours, the restrooms aren’t kept up (nor was the overflowing trash). Also, the public water spigots weren’t working in the camp loop, which wasn’t told to us - the road is also right next to the loop. We still enjoyed the forest and river, but I wish I knew some of these things about the vibe of the camp!

Clean. Nice campsites. Private. Not crowded. Well run.

We've been going for years, we've tented and stayed in the new cabins. The rule list for the cabins is a bit much, but the staff is just protecting the investment. The sites are clean as are the bathrooms which are close to most sites. Fishing is always top notch, we cook over an open fire and enjoy the light roar of the river in the background while the crackle of our fire takes the chill out of the spring air. Definitely gonna miss it this year with the late opening due to budget cuts.

Well spaced sites, well maintained facility. Sorry we didn't find it sooner.

Easy access to the river for fishing, friendly helpful staff, decent distance between sites which are also good sized, and the campground as a whole isn't enormous so it makes for a quieter calmer atmosphere. Prices are also not high at all.

It used to be a yearly tradition camping here for 30 years with my family. I am sad to say that for the past two years, because of CT budget cuts and reduction of staff/park rangers this place has not been the same. In fact, it's been awfully disappointing. No staff/park rangers equals out of control guests, garbage build up, increase in bears, raccoons, rummaging through the campsites and without an overnight park ranger unregistered visitors would frequently enter the park making my family and I feel unsafe. I will only return if the campground increases it's staff.

Really enjoyed the site. Staff was helpful. Plenty of space between sites. Clean and stocked facilities.

Great grounds, lots of beautiful trails, and of course a majestic river. A wonderful experience.
Lenore Hartwich
Very well kept grounds. Camp there every year. This year stayed in cabin which is well worth the cost, especially since it rained every day. I am already planning next year's camping details.
Lori Jones
Large sites. Clean restrooms. Beautiful forest near the river.
David Godfrey
Mostly quiet. A little close to the road. Level spots with plenty of space.

Fantastic campground, quiet, big tall trees, nicely maintained and attentive staff. Not to mention the best fishing and swimming a minutes walk from most sites!

Nice clean campground on the fantastic Farmington River. As a kid I went with my father, and now I bring my son camping there.
Eric Mazzarella
The wood we purchased for them was very damp so every campsite had a very smoky fire. The campground was very nice though and the bathrooms were very clean.
Gregg Shaffer
